BILLY WAYNE INGRAM
SYLACAUGA — Funeral service for Billy Wayne Ingram, 52, will be Thursday at 4 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Rodney Barrand officiating. Burial will be in Kahatchie Cemetery
in Childersburg.
Mr. Ingram died Aug. 14 at Baptist Medical Center Montclair in Birmingham. He was employed by the Talladega County Board of Education as a teacher at Childersburg Middle School for 23 years. He was a member of the AEA and the NEA.
He is survived by three daughters, Miranda L. Ingram, Carrie Ingram Jennings and Chelsea L. Ingram of Sylacauga; two granddaughters, Katelyn Morris and Darby Morris; a special friend, Preston Smith; his mother, Fannie Mae Ingram of Talladega; his brothers, James Ingram, Roger Ingram, Larry Ingram, Sherril Ingram and Donald Ingram; and his sisters, Frances Stephens, Betty Vaughn, Evelyn Ingram, Kay Joseph, Rebecca Crumpton, Nancy Rape, Phyllis Martin and Janice Phelps
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 3 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Greg Hardin, Stacey Sims, Scott Rape, Tommy Rape, Steven Scott and Lamar Smith.
Radney-Smith Funeral Home in Sylacauga will direct the service.
VIOLA MARIE HUNTER
CROPWELL — Funeral service for Viola Marie (Lee) Hunter, 69, will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church with the Rev. James Blair officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Hunter died Aug. 13 at her residence. She was a member of the Cattleman's Association and Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church and was a graduate of Pell City High School. She worked as a farmer, upholsterer and late in life in real estate.
She is survived by her mother, Velma Lee of Cropwell; three sons, Charles Russell Hunter of Cropwell, Anthony Erwin Hunter of Cropwell and Frederick Alan Hunter and wife Holly of Cropwell; one daughter, Merry Jane Hunter of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two grandsons, Tash Hunter and Christopher Chase Hunter; one granddaughter, Jamie Lee Davis; three brothers, Jerry Lee of Pell City, Rudolph Lee and Archie Lee of Cropwell; and one sister, Billie Ann Splawn of Montevallo.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:30 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
The body may be viewed at the church from 10 a.m. until service time.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Lee, Brandon Lee, David Lee, Brian Lee, Terry Roe and Mitch Splawn.
Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City will direct the service.
CLARA BATTS MONCRIEF
TALLADEGA — Funeral service for Clara Batts Moncrief, 91, will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Usrey Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Ralph Jernigan officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hill Memorial Park.
Mrs. Moncrief died Aug. 14 at Talladega Health Care Center. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, James A. Moncrief, and two sisters, Ruby B. King and Lucy Batts. She was a native of Limestone County and had lived in Talladega since 1935. She had been a member of First Baptist Church since 1953, taught the Young Women's Sunday School Class and was retired from Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind with 27 years of service. She was a member of AEA.and WEA.
She is survived by one son, Dr. James L. Moncrief of Greer, S.C.; three sisters, Mary B. Gordon of Athens, Emily B. Johnson and Kathryn B. Hardy of Talladega; one brother, Norman Batts of Athens; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be David Sadler, Stephen Sadler, Christopher Johnson, Wayne Johnson, Floyd Ardis and John Ray Hardy.
The Iva Nell Ricker Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the I Love My Church Fund at First Baptist Church in Talladega.

HOMER FRANKLIN MOORE
MUNFORD — Funeral service for Homer Franklin Moore, 58, will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Miller Funeral Home chapel in Oxford with the Rev. Marvin Bentley and the Rev. Mike Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Hopeful Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Moore died Aug. 13 at Regional Medical Center. He was retired from Talladega National Forestry, where he was head timber marker/team leader. He received numerous awards for excellent service. He was a disabled veteran of the Vietname War, earning a Purple Heart. He was a faithful member of Hopeful Baptist Church for 32 years and served as song leader, treasurer and song chairman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jewell and Helen Moore.
He is survived by his wife, Judith Hazel Moore; a son, Tony Moore of Munford; a daughter, Lynn Eldridge and husband Tony of Munford; 11 brothers, Terry Moore and Jerry Moore of Lineville, Michael Moore, Glenn Moore, David Moore, Bud Moore and Phillip Moore of Ashland, Hopper Moore and Danny Moore of Oxford, Howard Moore of Hackneyville and Steve Moore of Talladega; a sister, Linda Sue Mitchell; and one grandchild, Sunshine Robertson.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Brothers will serve as pallbearers.

JESSE LEWIS ROYAL
ALEXANDER CITY — Funeral service for Jesse Lewis Royal will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Peace and Goodwill Baptist Church with the Rev. Eddie Hunter officiating. Burial will be in Peace and Goodwill Cemetery.
Mr. Royal died Aug. 11 at his residence. He was born June 26, 1936, in Coosa County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Washington and Willie Mae Kendrick Royal.
He is survived by his wife, Arvetta Speer Royal of Alexander City; three daughters, Jacklyn Thomas of Alexander City, Jessica Knight of Hattiesburg, Miss., and Kim Royal Montgomery; two sisters, Ida Mae Reynolds of Eclectic and Bettye Royal Brooks of Coosa County; three brothers, William Royal of Coosa County, James Royal of Chicago, Ill., and Bobby Royal of Eclectic; six grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

LEEDS — Funeral service for Mary Ethel Batson, 73, will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Leeds Congregational Holiness Church with the Rev. Aaron Wheatley officiating. Burial will be in Dunnavant Community Cemetery.
Mrs. Batson died Aug. 14. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Walter Batson.
She is survived by one daughter, Shelia Diane Lockhart of Leeds; four sons, Danny H. Batson of Harpersville, Roger D. Batson of Leeds, David W. Batson of Margaret and Dennis B. Batson of Harpersville; one sister, Willie Armstrong of Leeds; three brothers, Junior Batson of Moody, James Batson of Odenville and Vester Batson of Trussville; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

ALPINE — Funeral service for Pearlie Mae Benefield, 79, will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home chapel in Sylacauga with the Rev. Billy East and the Rev. Matt Hilyer officiating. Burial will be in Tallassahatchie Cemetery.
Mrs. Benefield died Aug. 15. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, M.D. Benefield; a grandson, Johnathan Benefield; her parents, Jim and Lou Jeannie Gay; a brother, Huey Gay; and three sisters, Doni Bassett, Bessie Clary and Charlotte Phillips.
She is survived by three sons, David Benefield of Sylacauga, Jimmy Benefield and Wren Benefield of Alpine; three daughters, Ann Mann and Jean Johnston of Alpine and Wanda Phillips of Sylacauga; four brothers, Jim Gay and Johnny Taylor of Sylacauga, Tom Gay of Tallassee and Jack Gay of North Carolina; three sisters, Fannie Ogle of Sylacauga, Betty Passmore of Georgia and Pauline Reza of Las Vegas, Nev.

TALLADEGA — Willie B. Johnson, 80, of 726 Avenue K, died Aug. 14 at his residence.

SARAH ETHELYN PEAK
JACKSONVILLE — Graveside service for Sarah Ethelyn Peak, 80, will be Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in Pleasant Valley Cemetery
with the Rev. Terry Johnson officiating.
Mrs. Peak died Aug. 13 at her residence. She was a resident of Calhoun County for most of her life and was a substitute teacher for Crystal Springs and Alexandria schools. She was a caregiver to many and a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond C. Peak of Jacksonville; four sons, Stephen Graham Boozer of Ft. Worth, Texas, James Ronald Boozer of Jacksonville, Jeffrey Curtis Peak of Jacksonville and Jerre Raymond Peak of Oxford; two sisters, Carol Dean Duncan of Sylacauga and Sarah Jo Merrell of Childersburg; one brother, Frank Gene Graham of Childersburg; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, nine nieces and five nephews.
Pallbearers will be Ralph Merrell, Rodney Graham, Mike Boozer, Joe Prickett, Allen Knight, Michael Graham, George Holmes and Jerry Kellem.
