Mr. Newman F. Smith age 77 of Crossville, AL passed away at his residence on Thursday, Jaunary 23, 2003

MR. CARL CHRISTIAN ZENKE

Mr. Carl Christian Zenke age 88 of Collinsville, AL passed away at his residence on Thursday, January 16, 2003. He was preceded in death by his Wife; Louise Zenke and Daughters; Charlene Crist and Rita Kay Seivers. He was a member of the Vernon Baptist Church and a 32 Degree Mason. He was originally from Illinois

Funeral service will be Sunday, January 19, 2003 at the Collinsville Funeral Home - Sharpe Chapel at 2pm CST with Rev. Perry Broom officiating.

Mr. Walter Ray Smith age 84 of Collinsville, AL passed away at his residence Tuesday, February 4, 2003

Funeral service will be at the Collinsville Funeral Home - Sharpe Chapel at 2pm CST Wednesday, February 5, 2003 with Rev. Wendell Dutton and Rev. Wayne Reed officiating. Burial will follow in the Collinsville Cemetery.

Mrs. Evelyn West Williams age 78 of Collinsville, AL passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2003 at her residence.

Graveside service will be Thursday, February, 6, 2003 at 1pm CST at the Collinsville Cemetery, Rev. James Adkins officiating..

Bobby Lester Blackburn

Mr. Bobby Lester Blackburn, 52, died Saturday, June 15, 2002, in Atmore.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Atmore and had retired from the U. S. Navy after 21 years of service. He was employed by the U. S. Postal Service in Brewton and attended the Baptist church. He was preceded in death by his mother, Juanita Blackburn.

Mr. Blackburn is survived by his wife, Judy Blackburn of Atmore; his father, Bill Blackburn of Atmore and his son, Lance Blackburn and his wife, Sascha, of Atmore.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 18 at 10 a.m. at Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Davis officiating.

Burial followed at Canoe Freewill Cemetery.

Eastside Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Eugene F. 'Gene' Bondurant

Mr. Eugene F. 'Gene' Bondurant, 78, died Friday, August 9, 2002, at a Pensacola Hospital.

He was a native of Flomaton and had been a resident of Century for the past 55 years. He was a veteran of WWII and retired from St. Regis Paper Company after 33 years of service. He was a member of Beulah Chapel Assembly of God Church.

Mr. Bondurant is survived by his wife of 55 years, Bessie Bondurant of Century; three sons, Eddie Bondurant and his wife, Elaine, of Century, Jerry Bondurant and his wife Irene, of Byrneville and David Bondurant and his wife, Cricket, of Milton; a sister, Carole Hamilton of Atmore; three grandchildren, Hillary Christie Moye, Jonathan Bondurant and Jeremy Bondurant and two great-grandchildren, Hillary Moye and Justin Moye.

Funeral services were held Monday, August 12 at 10 a.m. at Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Shelton Kendig, the Rev. Leon Patrick, the Rev. Gene Stokes and the Rev. Earle Greene officiating.

Burial followed at Mize-Wadkins Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Steve White, Steve Nesmith, Earbie Pritchett, Kenny Hammac, Jerry Burkett and Ryan Burkett.

Eastside Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Marshall Wayne Fleeton

Mr. Marshall Wayne Fleeton, 50, died Wednesday, August 7, 2002, at Sunbridge Care Center in Palomares, Calif.

He was a native of Century, a graduate of Carver High School and resident of Palomares for many years. He worked for over 30 years as a Home Appliance Repairman.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Fleeton and a brother, Thomas Fleeton Jr.

Mr. Fleeton is survived by his mother, Ruby Fleeton of Century; six sisters, Georgia Sanders and Meral Riveral, both of Coco Beach, Fla., Bettie Griggs, Olivia Fleeton and Debbie Fleeton, all of Century and Ruby Lowe of Diamond Bar, Calif. and three brothers, Eugene Brown of Panama City, Fla., Willie Fleeton of Newark, N. J. and James Fleeton of Century.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 14 at noon at Pilgrim Lodge Baptist Church with the Rev. Leonard Watson Jr. officiating. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be at Century Cemetery.

Turner Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Robert Aubrey Kearley

Mr. Robert Aubrey Kearley, 81, died Saturday, July 27, 2002, in West Minster Nursing Home in Spanish Fort, Ala.

He was a native of Robinsonville and a member of the Baptist church in Spanish Fort. He was a retired Personnel Manager with the U. S. government and had retired from the U. S. Air Force after 23 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vanetia Kearley; a son, Don Kearley; a brother, Julian Kearley and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Kearley.

Mr. Kearley is survived by a son, Larry Kearley and his wife, Melanie, of Palatacas, Fla.; a daughter, Patricia Bozeman and her husband, Jerry, of Derby, Ks.; four grandchildren and three sisters, Mrs. Eulyn Wood and her husband, Morris, of Mobile, Alice Buford Stacey of Atmore and Alva Clarice Quarles of Evergreen.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 30 at 11 a .m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Gibson of Jackson officiating.

Burial followed at Green Acres Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ryan Kearley, Wayne Stacey, Doug Bozeman, Charles Bethea, Mike Booker and Andy Bethea.

Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Delores 'Dee' Parmer-Woodtor

Dr. Delores 'Dee' Parmer-Woodtor, 57, died Tuesday, August 6, 2002, at Palletev Care Center in Skokie, Ill.

She was a native of Greenville and resident of Chicago (Evanston), Ill. most of her life. She was a graduate of the University of Illinois and obtained he Ph.D. from Northwestern University. She was an assistant professor at Eastern Illinois University and she had taught at Depaul University and the University if Liberia in Africa. She owned her own company, Trans Kulture Communications, where she was a freelance writer and professional researcher. She was the author of a book titled 'Culture Matters: An African Diaspota Review". She held the African Festival of Arts in the Chicago area for 17 years.

SHe was preceded in death by her father, Willie James Parmer.

Dr. Parmer-Woodtor is survived by her husband, Patrick Saingbey Woodtor of Evanston, Ill.; two sons, Saingbey Khien Woodtor and John Ore Johnson and his wife, Knethia, all of Evanston; her mother, Adele Longmire King of Niagara Falls, N. Y.; a step-daughter, Laura Karr and her husband, Geah, of Chicago; four sisters, Hortense PArmer-Brice and Dr. Twinet Parmer-Gordon and her husband, Jimmy, all of Chicago and KAtherine Parmer Barner and Ann Parmer Ross; two granddaughters and a grandson.

Visitation will be Friday, August 16 from 1 to 8:30 p.m. at Turner Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 17 at 2 p.m. at St. Luke A.M.E. Zion Church in Greenville with the Rev. Gary Longmire-Owen officiating.

Burial will be at St. Luke A.M.E. Zion Cemetery.

Turner Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Lillie Mae Hines

Mrs. Lillie Mae Hines, 79, died Tuesday, June 18, 2002, at Atmore Community Hospital.

She was a native of Monroeville and resident of Atmore for 60 years. Shew was a retired cafeteria worker with Escambia County (AL) School Board after 27 years of service. A former member of Greater Mt. Triumph Baptist Church, she attended Lighthouse Apostolic Holiness Church.

She was preceded ind death by her husband, Johnnie Hines; her parents, John and Mattie Lett Hall; three sisters, Ola Mae Robinson, Annie Ree Wiggins and Maxine Montgomery and three brothers, Willie Hall, Jeff Hall and Nelson Hall.

Mrs. Hines is survived by five daughters, Mary Burston, Barbara Dortch, Betty Hines and Wanda Scott, all of Atmore, Deloise Johnson of Newark, N. J. and Ella Mae Dortch of Evergreen; a step-daughter, Blanche Rivers of Boston, Mass.; a sister, Carrie Bell Watson of Atmore; a brother, Johnny Hall of Atmore; 21 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 22 at 2:30 p.m. at Lighthouse Apostolic Holiness Church with Apostle Floyd E. Nelson officiating.

Burial was at Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers were friends of the family.

Turner Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
