COZELLA C. STITH

DADEVILLE — Funeral service for Cozella C. Stith, 82, will be Saturday at noon at Haven Chapel United Methodist Church in Dadeville with the Rev. David Tucker officiating. Burial will be in New Hope C.M.E. Church Cemetery in Goodwater.

Mrs. Stith died July 24 at Wilder Health Care Center in Dadeville. She was a member of Haven Chapel United Methodist Church. She attended A&M University in Huntsville and Alabama State University in Montgomery. She held a degree in Education. She taught high school in Tallapoosa County and Clay County and taught school in the Nasa County School System in Spring Valley, N.Y., where she retired. After retirement, she taught Special Education at Edward Bell Learning Center in Camp Hill. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association.

She is survived by son, Frankie Stith of Spring Valley, N.Y.; sisters, Mae Hale of Dadeville and Nettie Simmons of Goodwater and a host of other relatives.

Friends of the family will serve as pallbearers and flowerbearers.

Community Funeral Home will direct the service.

PHIL ALVERSON

SYLACAUGA — Phil Alverson died July 25 at Brookwood Medical Center.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Curtis and Son Funeral Home.

HARVIE LEE BAILEY

SYLACAUGA — Harvie Lee Bailey, 89, died July 25 at his residence.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Curtis and Son Funeral Home.

TERRELL JAMAL KELLY

NEW SITE — Funeral service for infant Terrell Jamal Kelly, 3 months, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Darian Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Shealey officiating. Burial will be in Darian Cemetery.

The infant died July 22 at his residence.

He is survived by his mother, Latresa A. Baker of New Site; father, Terrell Kelly of Goodwater; sister, Xyzaia Baker of New Site; grandparents, Mary Glenn of New Site, Franita Davis of Goodwater, Randy Baker of Alexander City and Duncan Kelly of Goodwater; great-grandmothers, Winnie Postell of Atlanta, Ga., and Nealie Hoytt of Goodwater and a host of aunts, uncles and other relatives.

Wright's Funeral Home will direct the service.

STANLEY RANDOLPH KIRBY

PELL CITY — Funeral service for Stanley Randolph Kirby, 61, will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home chapel in Pell City with the Rev. Gordon Lee officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Mr. Kirby died July 24. He was a resident of Pell City for the past 20 years. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ellen Nixon Bookmiller and his father, Frank R. Kirby.

He is survived by his wife, Doshie Fondren Kirby; son, Jeffrey Randolph Kirby (Dana) of Cumming, Ga.; his father, Bill Bookmiller (Juanita) of Tucker, Ga.; sisters, Frankie Ann Doby (David) of Cumming, Ga., and Sharon Elaine Smith (Steve) of Tucker, Ga.; brother, Kenneth Hugh Bookmiller (Patricia) of Murrayville, Ga.; stepdaughter, Detra Rena Kalina of Pell City; three grandsons and three granddaughters.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Mark Sides, Dennis Phillips, Shane Roe, Grant Hazelwood, Ken Bookmiller and David Etris.

Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City will direct the service.

JOHNNIE MATTHEWS

ANNISTON — Funeral service for Johnnie Matthews, 87, will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at Pure Holiness Church of God in Anniston with Minister Lee officiating. Burial will be in Eden Hill Cemetery in Anniston.

Mr. Matthews died July 20 at his residence. He was a retired carpenter and a World War II veteran. He was a member of Pure Holiness Church of God.

He is survived by sisters, Hazel Henderson of Anniston and Christine Porter of Mt. Vernon, N.Y.

The body may be viewed at the church for one hour before the service.

Nephews and friends of the family will serve as pallbearers.

Anniston Funeral Service will direct the service.

NETTIE MAE MORRIS

SYLACAUGA — Funeral service for Nettie Mae (Darlin) Morris, 98, will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home chapel in Sylacauga with the Rev. Keith Pugh officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Sylacauga.

Mrs. Morris died July 24 at Coosa Valley BMC in Sylacauga. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sylacauga, a member of the Eastern Star and a member of the West Coosa Senior Citizens Center. She was a member of the Senior Citizens Alabama Hall of Fame.

She is survived by daughter, Vivian Mae Crosswy of Sylacauga; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Arnold, John Guy, Ray Guy, Stoney Blocker, Rossco Collins and Terry Mitchell.

Members of the West Coosa Senior Citizens Center and members of the Chancelor Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the First Baptist Church of Sylacauga, 10 S. Broadway Ave. Sylacauga, Ala., 35150.

WILLIAM FRANK TEMPLE JR.

ANDALUSIA — Graveside service for William Frank Temple Jr., 88, will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Sylacauga.

Mr. Temple died July 22 at Andalusia Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Frank and Mary Pitts Temple; sisters, Clara Thomas and Muriel Brooks and brothers, Carey C. Temple and Robert W. Temple.

He is survived by his wife, Sue White Temple of Andalusia; son, William Frank Temple III of Troy, Ohio; daughter, Suzanne Temple of Florida; brother, Dr. James P. Temple of Dadeville; sisters, Frances Cravey of Jackson, Virginia Hassett of Sylacauga and Mary Rayfield of Huntersville, N.C.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Forman Funeral Home in Andalusia will direct the service.

LYNN WILLS

ALEXANDER CITY — Graveside service for Lynn Wills, 76, was Friday at 2 p.m. in Bethlehem-New Salem Cemetery in New Site with Randy Anderson officiating.

Mr. Wills died July 23 at Adams Nursing Home. He was born on April 19, 1927, in Clay County to Charlie Sumners Wills and Beatrice Steward Wills. He worked as a mechanic for Cox-Dobbs Chevrolet and was a member of the VFW.

He is survived by special friend, Melisha Hand of New Site and her fiance' Adam Ingram of Kellyton; daughter, Scarlett Jacobs of Alexander City; son, Phillip Wills of Alexander City; two grandchildren; brothers, Robert Wills and George Wills of Sylacauga, Donald Wills and Houie Wills of Clay County and Louie Wills of Alexander City; and sisters, Maurine Brewer and Patty Wade of Talladega, Betsy Graben of Lineville and Emma Jean Shaddix of Jackson's Gap.

The family requests no flowers.

MAGGIE WRIGHT

SYLACAUGA — Funeral service for Maggie Wright, 97, will be Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Curtis and Son Funeral Home North chapel with the Rev. Tommy Reaves officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Wright died July 24 at Coosa Valley BMC.

She is survived by daughter, Mavis Vaudine Hambright of Trussville; sister, Bonnie Jean Bean of Sylacauga; five grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel will direct the service.
