Thomas Virgil Kelley

A graveside service was held for Thomas Virgil Kelley of Stone Mountain, Ga., on Monday, August 11, 2 p.m., at Moulton Memory Gardens with the Rev. Charles Powell officiating and Wages and Sons Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Kelley died Friday, August 8, 1997, at Beverly Manor Nursing Home in Stone Mountain.

He was born in Campbell, Ga. Mr. Kelley was a barber in Moulton for several years before moving to Jasper, where he lived for 58 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Jasper.

Survivors include his wife, Earline Parker Kelley; two sons, Norman Dale Kelley of Stone Mountain and James Glendon Kelley of Asheville, N.C.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Claura B. Bolden

86, homemaker, Hillsboro

Funeral for Claura B. Bolden who died Sunday, August 10, 1997, at Parkway Medical Center Hospital, was held Wednesday, August 13. The 1 p.m. service was held at Wheeler Chapel with the Rev. Thomas Davis officiating.

Burial was in the Calvary Memorial Gardens with Sharpley Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Bolden was born in Courtland to Lee and Sarah Wallace. She was a member of Wheeler Chapel, where she served on the mother's board and missionary society.

Survivors include four sons, Willie Bowling, Frank Bowling and John Bowling, all of Courtland and Connie Bowling of Muscle Shoals; six daughters, Lillie Mae Birgans and Shirley King, both of Hillsboro, Bessie Jones, Corrine Hurley and Gloria Wiggins, all of Courtland and Bertha Moore of Decatur; 85 grandchildren; and 140 great-grandchildren.

Grandsons were the pallbearers.

Fennel V. Fleming

71, cattle farmer, Hatton

Funeral for Fennel V. Fleming was held Saturday, August 16, 2 p.m., at Harris Chapel Church of God of Prophecy with the Revs. Sylvester Smith and Ron Edgil officiating.

Burial was in the Cave Springs Cemetery with Lawrence Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Fleming died Thursday, August 14, 1997, at his home.

He was born in Lawrence County to Wiley and Willie Coan Fleming.

Mr. Fleming was retired from Monsanto. He Attended Harris Chapel Church of God of Prophecy.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Kiser Fleming of Hatton; three sons, Don Fleming and Darryl Fleming, both of Moulton and Ronny Fleming of Hatton; a daughter, Lisa Fleming Newton of Hatton; three brothers, Guy Fleming of Tuscumbia, Ray Fleming of Moulton and Dempsey Fleming of Mount Hope; three sisters, Syble Hill and Melba Hill, both of Moulton and Bobbie DeVaney of Spruce Pine; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Nephews were the pallbearers.

Lillie Mae Mitchell Stephenson

87, homemaker, Moulton

Funeral for Lillie Mae Mitchell Stephenson, who died Monday, August 18, 1997, at Lawrence Baptist Medical Center, was held Wednesday, August 20. the 2 p.m. service was held at Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Coffey officiating.

Burial was in the Hickory Grove Cemetery with Lawrence Funeral Home directing.

She was born in Lawrence County and was the wife of the late Arthur Stephenson.

Survivors include three sons, Freddie Stephenson of Trinity, Bobby Stephenson of Athens and A. M. Stephenson of Moulton; a daughter, Brenda Coan of Moulton; stepson, James Stephenson of Moulton; stepdaughter, Lucy Mae Houston of Tuscumbia; four brothers, Richard Mitchell, Eddie Mitchell and Albert Mitchell, all of Moulton and Dan Mitchell of Milton, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Keith Stephenson, Terry Stephenson, Todd Stephenson, Michael Stephenson, Lee Stephenson, Brandon Coan, Kevin Rivers and Steve Houston.

Ellie B. Sharp Jr.

67, retired U.S. Air Force, Town Creek

Ellie B. Sharp Jr. died Sunday, August 10, 1997.

A graveside service was held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 13, at Wright Cemetery. David Gregg officiated and Spry Funeral Home directed.

Mr. Sharp was a native of Lauderdale County. He was a retired Staff Sergeant after 20 years of service. Mr. Sharp also served 10 years in the U.S. Air Force Reserves.

Survivors include two sons, Glen Sharp and Anthony Sharp, both of Town Creek; his mother, Irene Vassar Sharp Peck, Florence; three sisters, Sarah Downey and Sandra Lawler, both of Florence and Barbara Gann of Rogersville; two brothers, Allen Sharp and Glenn Sharp, both of Florence.

Alice Cameron Gill

80, Town Creek native, Mobile

A graveside service was held for Alice Cameron Gill on Wednesday, August 20, 2 p.m., at Blackground Cemetery, Town Creek.

Mrs. Gill died at her residence in Mobile on Monday, August 18, 1997. She had lived in Mobile for the past 40 years.

She was the daughter of William C. and Rosie Cameron and was married to the late William Gill.

She is survived by nieces and nephews.

Dallas Pullum

83, Town Creek

Funeral arrangements for Dallas Pullum, who died Tuesday, August 19, 1997, at his home will be announced by McConnell Funeral Home.

Reeper "Reba" Alexander Weinmann

80, homemaker, Moulton

Funeral for Reeper "Reba" Alexander Weinmann was held Wednesday, August 27, at Moulton Church of Christ. Those officiating at the 4 p.m. service were Hoyt Nelson, Carl Long, Bill Becker and DeWayne Key.

Burial was in the Moulton Memory Gardens with Elliott Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Weinmann died Monday, August 25, 1997, at Lawrence Baptist Medical Center.

She was born in Moulton to Walter A. and Eaton Heflin Alexander. Mrs. Weinmann attended David Lipscomb College. She was a member of the Moulton Church of Christ. Mrs. Weinmann was preceded in death by her husband, J. D. "Chub" Weinmann.

Survivors include four daughters, Dolores K. Brock, Rosemary Lewey and Lisa Steele, all of Moulton and Maureen Armstrong of Scottsboro; and seven grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Tom Arnold, David Elliott, J. M. Kelly, Tim Littrell, Jack Montgomery, Wayne Sutton, Mitch Rollins and Benny Williams.

Honorary pallbearers were elders and deacons of Moulton Church of Christ and Drug Shop coffee drinkers.

Marie Parker Smith

70, homemaker, Mount Hope

Marie Parker Smith died Sunday, August 24, 1997, at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence.

The funeral was held Tuesday, August 26, 2 p.m., at Lawrence Funeral Home chapel with the Revs. Jerry Strickland and Ron Edgil officiating.

Burial was in the Providence Cemetery.

Mrs. Smith was born in Lawrence County to William and Dean Parker. She was a member of Cave Springs Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Ausie "Shorty" Smith; a daughter, Sharon Latham of Town Creek, three brothers, Roy Parker of Moulton, Melvin Parker of Town Creek and Curtis Parker of Mount Hope; a sister, Bobbie Landers of Leighton; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers were Braxton Craig, Harold Radford, John Levert Riggs, Hillard Frost, John Terry and Ray Parker.

Archie Leroy Lang

79, retired merchant, Moulton

Funeral for Archie Leroy Lang, who died Wednesday, August 20, 1997, at his residence, was held Friday, August 22, at Elliott Funeral chapel. Officiating at the 2 p.m. service were Scott Delashaw and Clyde Goodlett.

Burial was in the Moulton Memory Gardens.

Mr. Lang was born in Moulton to John D. and Ethel Caine Lang. Mr. Lang was owner of Archie Lang's Grocery in Langtown until his retirement in the 1980's.

Survivors include his wife, Carrie S. Lang; a daughter, Ann Hogan of Destin, Fla.; two sons, Alton Lang and Larry Lang, both of Moulton; a sister, Linda Kingsley of Madison; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Grandsons and Theron Land were the pallbearers.

Earline P. Terry

77, homemaker, Leighton

Earline P. Terry died Tuesday, August 19, 1997, in Muscle Shoals.

The funeral was held Thursday, August 21, noon, at Courtland Baptist Church with the Revs. Bill Reding and Jerry Peebles officiating.

Burial was in the Courtland Memorial Gardens with Spry Funeral Home directing.

She was born in Lawrence County and was a member of Hillsboro Baptist Church. Mrs. Terry had been a resident of Leighton for the past year.

Survivors include three sons, Dwight Terry and Dale Terry, both of Leighton and Kenny Terry of Courtland; one daughter, Kathy Dutton of Moulton; one sister, Jennie Glenn of Leighton; and six grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Johnny Nix, Jared Nix, Jason Terry, Keith Cottingham, Joe Vandiver and Coleman Peebles.
