FORT MEADE, Fla. — Mr. William Steve Hulsey, 59, passed away Friday, May 9, 2008, at his residence after a long battle with cancer. Steve was born in Jacksonville, Ala. and came to Fort Meade, Fla. in 1972. He was a maintenance mechanic for Mosaic Phosphate Mining, and of the Pentecostal faith. He was a U.S. Navy Vietnam veteran; member of American Legion Post #3, Bartow, Fla.; member of Sons of the American Legion; member of the Moose Lodge, Bartow, Fla.; and a former Little League Baseball and Football coach in Fort Meade. He was preceded in death by brothers, Homer Hulsey and Wayne McCurry. He is survived by his wife, Marcia Hulsey, Fort Meade; sons, Dwayne Hulsey and wife, Susie, Zolfo Springs, Fla., and Josh Kintner, Fort Meade, Fla.; daughters, Amy McQuaig, Fort Meade, Fla., Leigh Hulsey and Rosie, Zolfo Springs, Fla., Amanda Gibson, Wauchula, Fla.; brothers, Thomas Hulsey and Benny Hulsey, both of Jacksonville; sister, Frances Campbell, of Jacksonville; six grandchildren, Taylor Hulsey, Michael Forrester, Justin Forrester, Brian McQuaig, Kaylee Gibson, and Ciara Kintner. Memorial services will held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 17, 2008 at Hancock Funeral Home, Fort Meade, Fla.

ANNISTON — Funeral services for James "Jim" A. Laney, 74, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2008, in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory with the Rev. Joe Harris and the Rev. Eric Arrington officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home. Mr. Laney died Saturday at his residence.

Mr. Laney was a resident of Anniston, Ala. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He was also employed by Pinson's Florist and a devoted Auburn Football Fan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alton B. and Mary Mildred Warren Laney; wife, Mary Lee Laney and daughter, Cindy Thompson. ANNISTON — Graveside services for Mr. Richard Tidwell, 41, was held Monday at Union Grove cemetery in Golden Springs with the Rev. Gerald Clark officiating. Mr. Tidwell passed away Thursday in Birmingham.

She was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. She was a beloved mother who loved her children, loved cooking for her family and friends, if you every went by her house to visit, she would insist on you having a bite to eat or a cold coke to drink. She loved taking care of her family and friends. She is preceded in death by, her mother and father, Will and Georgia Bundrum; husband, Earmon Jenkins; son, Terry Jenkins; three brothers; and two sisters. She is survived by her three daughters, Dolores Wright, of Jacksonville, Ala., Charlotte (John) Draper, of Austell, Ga., Sherry (Donald) Tillison, of New Liberty, Ala.; two sons, Nickey (Lynette) Jenkins, of Webster's Chapel, and Bruce (Celina) Jenkins, of Hokes Bluff, Ala.; one sister, Vera Edge, of Gadsden, Ala.; 11 grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Pinkard will lie in state one hour before the service at the church. Burial to follow in the adjoining church cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Pinkard died Monday, May 12, 2008 at Randolph Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Black Pinkard, of Roanoke; two daughters, Donna Pinkard, of Roanoke, and Angie Pinkard (Steve) Key, of Newell; two sisters, Doris Chappell, of Sylacauga, and Carol Cohen, of Birmingham.
Pallbearers will be Harold Heard, Steven Turner, Gerry Burke, Shane Burke, Chuck Hickman, and Joey Hickman. Mr. Pinkard was born July 14, 1931, son of Oscar E. and Edna Garrett Pinkard. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Christian Church where he served as a deacon, song director and Sunday school teacher. Mr. Pinkard had been a Public Accountant in this area for fifty years, served in the United States Army during the Korean War, and owned DP Oil convenience store in Wedowee. Mr. Pinkard was preceded in death by his parents and one niece, Robyn Cohen. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Mt. Zion Christian Church.

He was known for loving the Lord and loving his family. He was a good friend to many and was an avid Alabama football and Atlanta Braves baseball fan.
