WILLOW GODWIN LUMPKIN

Willow Godwin Lumpkin, 89, of New Brockton passed away Monday, Feb. 21, 2011, at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 23, at the Old Tabernacle United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lee Jones and Nephew, Chris Lassiter officiating.

Burial followed in the Old Tabernacle cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Enterprise directing.

The family asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Old Tabernacle cemetery Fund, 19548 Hwy 167, New Brockton, AL 36351-8062

Mrs. Lumpkin was born in Delta, to the late Martin Luther and Clara Belle Sprayberry Brooks. She was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include sisters-in-law, Edna Brooks of Childersburg, Wynell Lassiter of Enterprise and Earlean Godwin of New Brockton; special niece and nephews, Sandra Holley (Jack) of Childersburg, Frank Simmons (Sharon) and Eddie Simmons all of Ariton; and also other nieces and nephews.

DONNA MICHELLE WINDHAM GRENON

Donna Michelle Windham Grenon, 47, of Sylvester, Ga., passed away, Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at her home.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 5, 2011, at the chapel of Searcy Funeral Home with the Rev. Lee Jones officiating.

Burial will follow in Daleville City cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 9 a.m. until service time.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials made to: American Diabetes Association, 200 Office Park Drive, Suite 303, Birmingham, AL 35223.

Ms. Grenon was preceded in death by her father, Isaac Windham.

Survivors include a son, Michael Grenon of Enterprise; her mother, Ilse Webb of Daleville; two sisters, Barbara Webb (Darrell) of Daleville and D. D. Brogden (Daryl) of Midland City; two nephews, Hunter Webb of Daleville and Caleb Brogden of Midland City.

ROBERT (BOB) LYNCH

Robert (Bob) Lynch, 60, of Enterprise passed away, Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at Noland Hospital, Dothan.

Memorial services will be at 9 a.m., Saturday, March 5, at St. John Catholic Church with Father Gregory Okorobia officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m., Friday, March 4, at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Lynch of Enterprise; his daughter, Lesa Chambers (Mark); son, Paul Lynch; his parents, Arthur and Carolyn Lynch; two sisters, Sue Simmons and Karin Lynch; four brothers, Michael Lynch, Richard Lynch, Brian Lynch and Kevin Lynch; two grandchildren, Larry Holland and Caitlyn Lynch; and several nieces and nephews.

ROBERT WILBUR MILLS

Robert Wilbur Mills, 80, of Enterprise passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2011 in Enterprise.

Graveside funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, March 4, at Forest Lawn cemetery in Saraland with the Rev. Wayne Russell officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home of Enterprise directing.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hillcrest Baptist Church Homebound Ministry, 500 Alberta St., Enterprise, AL 36330.

Mills was born Dec. 23, 1930 in Castleberry. His parents, George Paul and Callie Blackwell Mills, and his wife, Mazie Faye Cain Mills, preceded him in death. He was a member of the Saraland Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle and Greg Hughes of Enterprise and Janet and Daryl Ingram of Millbrook; and two grandchildren, Jonathan Ingram and Amanda Ingram.

DAVID V. BAXLEY

David V. Baxley, 82, of Enterprise passed away Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, at the family residence.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 2, at the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home of Enterprise with the Revs. Steve Bruce and Phil Cooley officiating.

Burial with full military honors will follow in Meadowlawn cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday beginning at 1 p.m. and continuing until service time.

Mr. Baxley was born April 30, 1928 in Barbour County to the late William Corbitt and Clemmie Weiss Miller Baxley. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 23 years of service and worked for 20 years with civil service. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans. He loved serving in the military, flying and traveling. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Carolyn Murdock Baxley; son, Michael Baxley; son-in-law, Keith Hahn; sister, Vivian Oliver and brother, Donald Baxley.

Survivors include his wife, Betty J. Baxley; two daughters, Marice Hahn of Spring Hill, Fla., and Debbie Cain (Mike) of Enterprise; one son, Joseph Baxley of Peachtree City, Ga.; stepsons, Mike McCraney (Donna) and Jack McCraney (Marie), Louisville; grandchildren, Michele DeShong (Chip) of Springs Hill, Jodi Cain of Pelham and Jeremy Baxley and Stephen Baxley, both of Newnan, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Blair and Emilee DeShong, both of Spring Hill; step-grandchildren, Merrisa Ingram (Doug) of Destin, Fla., Michael McCraney (Diana), Jessica McCraney and Wesley McCraney, all of Louisville, Morgan Finch (Bren) of Pelham and Shawna Wood of Troy; step great-grandchildren, Eason, Eisley and Ebner Ingram, all of Destin, Mikey and Risdon and Dyson McCraney, all of Louisville; sister, Carolyn Oppert of Sanford, Fla.; sister-in-law, Velma Baxley of Mobile; brother-in-law, John Oliver of Albany, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.

A special thank you is given to his caregivers, Tanya and Darcy Bass, Annie Jones and Dayspring Hospice.

MAX PEREZ

Graveside services for Max Perez, 91, of Enterprise, were at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 1, 2003 at Meadowlawn cemetery with the Rev. Pablo Caballero officiating.

Burial followed with Searcy Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Perez died Tuesday, July 29, in the Elba Nursing Home. He was preceded in death by his wife, Adel Rivera Perez; a granddaughter, Linette Wilson; and his parents, Max and Pilar Perez.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Alexis and Letty Perez of Enterprise; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

ANNIE C. SHELTON

Annie C. Shelton, 75, of Daleville, passed away, Sunday, August 15, 2010 in Southeast Alabama Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 21 at the New Life Pentecostal Church with Rev. John Padgett officiating. Burial will follow in Daleville Memorial Gardens with Searcy Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8: p.m. Friday, August 20, at the funeral home.

Surviving are a daughter, Jeanette Shelton of Enterprise; two sons and daughter-in-law, Dannie Shelton (Patricia) and Eddie Shelton all of Daleville, ; two brothers, Robert Wilson of Atlanta; John Wilson of Newark, NJ; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

BOBBY COBB

Bobby Cobb, 66, of Anniston passed away Monday, Aug. 9, 2010, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan.

The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.

Survivors include a daughter, Angie Paynter of Gulf Shores; two sons, Scott Cobb of Gulf Shores and Cris Cobb of Chancellor; seven grandchildren, Ashley, Brandi, Justin, Joshua, Jordan, Lane and Deanna; and four great-grandchildren, Alexis, Patrick, Aleigha and Jayden.

ARTHUR HUGHES

Arthur Hughes, 84, of New Brockton passed away Friday, Aug. 13, 2010, at Flowers Hospital.

A funeral service was at 11 a.m., Monday, Aug. 16, at the chapel of Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory.

Burial followed in Meadowlawn cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing.

Mr. Hughes was preceded in death by his parents, John D. and Minnie Bell Hughes; a sister, Mary Lou 'Polly' Taylor; a brother, Edgar Hughes.

Survivors include his wife, Faye Hughes of New Brockton; mother, Jewel Hughes of Enterprise; three daughters, Brenda Hodge, Bruniece Barley (Tommy) and Burdette Hughes, all of Enterprise; one son, Doyle M. Hughes of Enterprise; eight grandchildren, Kim Boroff, Michaela Smith, Heather Bryant, Amy Summerlin and Craig Hughes, all of Enterprise, Andy Fulford of Charleston, S.C., Eric Hughes of Athens and Brent Barley of Troy; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Sue Howell, Vonnie Lee and Jesse Johnson (Bobby), all of Enterprise; six brothers, Y. D. 'Snooks' Hughes (Eloise), Alvie D. Hughes (Hazel), J. R. Hughes, John Bell Hughes (Willene) and Wendell Hughes (Sylvia), all of Enterprise and Harrison Hughes (Myra) of Opp.

NELL MIDDLEBROOK MUSGROVE

Nell Middlebrook Musgrove born on Jan. 28, 1913, she passed away on Aug. 1, 2010.

She was predeceased by her sisters, Mabel Middlebrook and Madge Middlebrook Sherling and by her beloved husband Maury Graham Musgrove.

Survivors include her son Maury Graham Musgrove, Jr.(Camilla) of Tuscaloosa and her daughter Melinda Musgrove Chapman of Birmingham; five grandchildren, David Chapman (Lindy) of Frankfurt, Germany, Jennifer Chapman Dominici (Thel) of Portsmouth, Va., Brook Chapman Brittain Shvaitser (Kfir) of Birmingham, Ellen Musgrove Hester of Tuscaloosa and Anne Musgrove Ponder (Frank) of Lanett; great grandchildren, Davis, Katie, Ashley and Harrison Chapman, Eden and Anna Brittain, Logan Hester and several nieces and nephews.

Nell graduated from Enterprise High School at age 16 and attended Huntington College for one year She transferred to the University of Alabama where she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority, majored in Home Economics, and became a lifelong fan of the Crimson Tide.

After graduating, she taught school in Enterprise, spent a year working in New York and then used her major to travel for the State of Alabama, teaching nutritional education. She married Graham Musgrove of Prattville in 1940, and they moved to Birmingham where they raised their family. She was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church. In the late 1950s she began a long and successful career in real estate, at one time co-owning her own company. After her retirement, she settled in Tuscaloosa to be near her son and his family.

The family wants to extend special thanks to the staff at Pine Valley Retirement Community where she lived for many years and to the staff at Martinview Assisted living where she spent the last year of her life. Their care for her has been extraordinary, and we will be forever grateful. The family would like to thank Amedisys Home Health and Hospice for all your loving care and support.

On Wednesday, Aug. 4, there was a graveside service for the family at Oakhill cemetery in Prattville where she was laid to rest, followed by a memorial service to celebrate her life in the Chapel of First Presbyterian Church in Prattville.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the organ restoration fund of the First United Methodist Church, 217 S. Main St., Enterprise, AL 36330. Nell's grandmother, Melinda Law donated the organ.
