Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Survivors include his mother, Ara Mae Baker of Clanton; three brothers, Ray Baker, Billy Baker and David Wayne Cleckler, all of Clanton; two sisters, Linda Baker and Brenda Headley, both of Clanton; six nephews, Taylor Baker, Daniel Baker, Logan Baker, Zachary Headley, Buddy Sanders, and Jody Cleckler, all of Clanton; four nieces, Holly Sanders, Sharlene Owens, Katuna Headley and Crystal Baker, all of Clanton; and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services for Mary Delene Baker, 77 of Clanton, were held at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 25, 2003 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wendell Kelley officiating. Burial followed at Antioch Methodist cemetery in Maplesville. Born on March 23, 1926 to Harvey Baker and Beatrice Kelly, she died May 23, 2003 at Chilton Medical Center in Clanton. Survivors include her daughter Mary Agnes Bavar of Clanton; granddaughters Regina Harrison of Maplesville and Rebecca Horton of Columbiana; great-grandsons Dustin Gore of Columbiana and Nathan Prince of Maplesville; great-granddaughter Layne Prince of Maplesville.

Graveside services for Mary Varden Baker, 87 of Clanton, will be held at 1 p.m. today at Maple Springs Baptist Church in Clanton with Rev. Tom Jackson officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. today at Martin Funeral Home Chapel. Born on March 7, 1916 to Rufus Gandy and Docie Gandy, she died July 7, 2003 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster. Survivors include his sons Clyde Varden of Clanton and Herman Varden of Lineville; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one great-great child.

Mrs. Ruth Baker, Wife of A. T. Baker, died in a Birmingham Hospital. She was 67 years of age. She died Monday. Burial was in the Clanton City Cemetery. Funeral was conducted by Rev. G. G. Williams. She was daughter of James Thacker. She is survived by her Husband 6 Sons and 3 Daughters.

Steve William Baker Services for Steve William Baker, 80, of Clanton, are tomorrow at Martin Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in the Martin Memorial Cemetery. Friends will be received today at Martin Funeral Home Chapel from 5-8 p.m. Baker died Sunday, November 7. Surviving are his son, Ralph Price of Clanton; five daughters, Barbara Turnham of Prattville, Connie Jones of Clanton, Joan Oaks of Clanton, June Piedra of Prattville and Debbie Bass of Clanton; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three sisters, Ruth Foshee of Clanton, Virginia Emfinger of Wetumpka and Lettie Walker, also of Clanton. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Dean Knight and his parents, Irvin and Mae Lockhart Baker.

Funeral services for Pauline Headley Ballard, 69, Clanton, will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 28, 1999, at 3 p.m. Burial will follow at Walnut Creek United Methodist in Clanton, with Martin Funeral Home directing. Ballard was born on Nov. 12, 1929, in Chilton County, the daughter of the late Bud A. and Sallie Dutton. She was a home health care attendant. She died at her residence on Sept. 24, 1999. Survivors include one daughter, Sarah Headley Benson, Flagler Beach, Fla.; two sons, Arthur T. Headley, Panama City, Fla., and Thad Headley, Selma; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Donald Wallace Headley.

Barrett, Mrs. Cora Lee, age 69, died at the home in Prattville Monday morning. Services were held at Providence Church in Coosa County Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock -- Spigener directing.

Barrett, Judson C. (Judge), age 72, of 5305 Court P. Central Park, Birmingham, died at Fairfield Hospital Monday Jan. 11th. Services were held at Spigener Chapel Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock conducted by Rev. J. W. Jones. Burial was at Samaria, Spigener directing. Nephews served as pallbearers. Surviving is the wife, Mrs Laura Gulledge Barrett of Birmingham; one daughter, Mrs Cooper H. Horton also of Birmingham; one brother Charlie Barrett; one sister, Mrs Ella Glenn; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Barrett, Mrs. Martha Cordelia Fulmer, age 72, died at the home near Clanton last Sunday at 11:35 p. m. following a illness of several weeks. Services were at New Salem Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock conducted by Revs. J. W. Jones, Fred Lowerey, and Homer Carroll. Martin directing. Pallbearers were Milton, Lamar, John Douglas and Hoyt Barrett, Tonie Connell Jr. and Julius Barrett. Flower girls were granddaughter and friends of the family.

Barrett, Robert C., age 80, of Clanton, Ala. died at 7:30 p.m. Friday, December 28. Funeral services were held at 2:30 Sunday from Providence church in Coosa County, conducted by the Rev. J. W. Jones and Rev. L. D. Hughes. Interment was in church cemetery.
He is survived by two daughters -- Miss Elsie Barrett of Clanton, Mrs J. Luther Glenn, Titus, Ala., Rte. 2; 2 brothers -- J. C. Barrett of Olando, Fla., C. L. Barrett of Dothan, Ala.; 1 sister, Mrs J. C. Glenn of Elmore, Ala. Pallbearers were grand sons and grand sons-in-law. Spigener Funeral Home in charge.

Friends will be received from 5-8, Monday, May 17, 2010 @ Martin Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at 11:00 A.M.. at Glad Tidings Church of God with Rev. W. L. Adams officiating. No Flowers or Food. Please make donations to Glad Tidings Church of God.

The wife, Mrs Dora Thacker Bates, survives, as well as two sons -- Wheeler Bates of Alden, Ala. and Henry Bates of Adamsville; one daughter, Mrs Howard Mims of Route 2, ; five brothers -- F. A. Bates of Tuscaloosa, Helyard of Selma, Tommie and Hobson, both of Birmingham, Gelvie of Columbia, SC; two sisters -- Mrs Dora Barrett of Maplesville, Mrs Mollie Easterling of Dolomite, Ala. There are thirteen grand children and one great grand child. Native of Chilton County, Oscar F. was son of John Bates Diles? Bates. He married Dora Thacker 48 years ago.

"Sonny" Bean of Jemison, Billy Ray Bean and Harold Dean Bean, both of Anniston; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Bean, Clanton; one special friend, Lula Mae Smitherman, Clanton; and several nieces and nephews.
