Burial followed at Oak Grove Church of God cemetery in Clanton. Cleckler was born on Nov. 14, 1926 Chilton County, the son of the late Ellis and Sally Belle Cleckler. He died on Friday, May 10, 2002 at Chilton Medical Center in Clanton. Survivors included his wife, Ruth W. Cleckler, Clanton; daughters Brenda Logan and Sandra (Irby) Heflin, both of Clanton; sons Tommy (Lynn) Cleckler, Dallas, and Joey (Rena) Cleckler, Clanton; sisters Odie Bell Smitherman, Clanton, Myrtice Edwards, Clanton and Velma Easterling, Clanton; brothers Hoyt Cleckler, Childersburg, Orville Cleckler, Mobile and Elmer Cleckler, Clanton; grandchildren Rhonda and Jeff Traywick, Brooke and Greg Lagarino, Summer Cleckler, Mark Gilley, Tiffany Mathews, Shannon Cleckler, David Heflin, Justin Cleckler and Tamara Cleckler; and great-grandchildren Tyler Durham, Lindsey Traywick, Jaiden Lagarino and Joshua Traywick.

Funeral services for Elvin Cleckler, 60, Verbena, will be held at Martin Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, July 18, 2001 at 1 p.m. with Rev. W. L. Adams and Rev. Wendall Kelley officiating. Burial will follow at the Oak Grove Church of God cemetery in Clanton, with Martin Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held at Martin Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, July 17, 2001, at Martin Funeral Home Chapel from 5-8 p.m. Cleckler was born on Jan. 10, 1941, in Chilton County, the son of the late Arthur Cleckler and the late Lera Cleckler. He was a welder. He died at his residence on July 15, 2001. Survivors include his wife, Mary Sue Cleckler, Verbena; one son Evan (Lucretia) Cleckler, Deatsville; one daughter, Cathy (Billy) Pratt, Deatsville; two step-sons, Benny (Margaret) Payton, Maplesville, and Steven Payton, Verbena; two step-daughters, Penny Mims, Clanton, and Sherry (John) Ware, Panama City, Fla.; three brothers, Calvin (Becky) Cleckler, and Harold (Judy) Cleckler, both of Clanton, and Gernie (Louise) Cleckler, Jemison; one sister, Janice (Wayne) Hilyer, Verbena; one grandmother, Paralee Edwards, Clanton; three step-grandsons, Joey Mims, Clanotn, and B. J. and Derek Payton, Maplesville; three step-granddaughters, Amber and Amy ware, Panana City, Fla.; and Jessica Mims, Clanton; one granddaughter, Michelle Cleckler, Deatsville; and three grandsons, Erik and Mitchell Pratt, Deatsville, and Caleb Cleckler, Deatsville.

Cleckler, Mr. Erin Lewis
Cleckler, Mr. Erin Lewis, age 60, of Thorsby, died on March 9 at Chilton County hospital. He was a native of Chilton County.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ruth W. Cleckler, Thorsby; one brother, Mr. Silas Cleckler, Thorsby. Services were held at 2 p.m. March 10 at Pates Chapel Baptist Church with interment held in the church cemetery. The Rev. Alvin Porter and N. E. Cook were the officiating ministers. Martin Funeral Home directing.

Funeral services for Eugene Gilbert Cleckler, 85, of Childersburg were March 10, 1998, at First Baptist Church in Childersburg with Rev. John Beck officiating. Burial was in Greenhill Memorial Gardens with Curtis and Sons Funeral Home directing. Mr. Cleckler was a member of First Baptist Church in Childersburg. He died March 7, 1998, at Hatley Health Care in Clanton. He is survived by his wife, Gracie Cleckler of Childersburg; a son, Thomas E. Cleckler of Fredericksburg, Tex.; a daughter, Dorothy C. Kidd of Childersburg; a brother Ermon Cleckler of Jemison; two sisters, Leatrice Liveoak of Thorsby and Lucille Davenport of Sylacauga; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers wer Shane Cleckler, James Cleckler, Steve Kidd, Ross Railey, Tim McNay and Windell Kelley.

Funeral services for Harvey Lee Cleckler, 80, Clanton, were held at Martin Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, June 30, 2002, at 3 p.m., with Rev. Donnie Messer officiating. Burial followed at Chilton Memorial Gardens in Clanton, with Martin Funeral Home directing. Cleckler was born on Feb. 14, 1922, in Chilton County, the son of the late Billy Cleckler and the late Mary Smitherman Cleckler. He was a laborer. He died on June 28, 2002, at Chilton Medical Center. Survivors include two sons, David Lee Cleckler and Daniel Cleckler, both of Clanton; four grandsons, Brandon Cleckler, Clanton, Blake Cleckler, Taylor Cleckler, Zachary Cleckler, all of Prattville; one sister, Nora Friday, Clanton.

Services for Harvey Cleckler, 68, of Jemison, were held Nov. 29 with burial at Mount Pisgah Cemetery. Reverend Kelvin Smitherman officiated. Mr. Cleckler, a mechanic, died at Brookwood Medical Center Nov. 26. Survivors include his wife, Olla Faye Cleckler of Jemison; daughters, Janet Wyatt of Jemison, Carla Parker of Jemison and Brenda Sherrill of Calera and grandchildren, Robin Horton, Kim Booth, Jessica Minor, Jered Parker and great-grandchild, Tyler Booth.

Services for Helen Gray Cleckler, 64, of Clanton are today at Martin Funeral Home Chapel at 1 p.m. with Buddy Gray speaking. Burial will follow in the Bethany Cemetery, Verbena. Cleckler died Saturday, December 4 in Alabaster. Survivors include her daughter, Angela Rose Hester of Verbena; three sons, Buddy Gray of Verbena, Terry Cleckler of Clanton and Joseph Cleckler of Maplesville; three sisters, Sattie Brown of Verbena; Ruth Fulmer of Montgomery and Doris Moncrief of Montgomery; and five grandchildren.

Hollis Cleckler Services for Hollis Cleckler, 69, of Clanton will be held today, August 15 at Martin Funeral Home at 3 p.m. with Reverend Robert Gibson officiating. Burial will follow at Bell Lane. Survivors include his mother, Lennie Wyatt of Clanton; step-father, John Wyatt of Clanton; step-sisters, Martha Nell Whitehead of Atlanta and Judy Williamson of Orrville, Ala. and several nieces and nephews.

Headley, William M. age 73, Clanton, Ala., died Dec. 30, in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Funeral services were held Jan. 1, at Martin Chapel at 11 a.m. with burial in Floyd Cemetery. He is survived by the wife, Cora W. Headley, Clanton, one daughter, Mrs. Shirley H. Bullard, Montgomery; six sons: Samuel of Prattville; Curtis of Billingsley; Grady of Millbrook; Carlos of Alex City; Clarence of Greenville; and James Headley of Montgomery; one sister, Mrs. Lillie Patterson, Clanton; one brother, Pate Headley, Clanton; 12 Grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Funeral services for William Oliver "Pud" Headley, 78, of Clanton were May 14, 1998, at Pinedale Assembly of God Church with Rev. Thurmond Cleckler and Rev. Everett Childers officiating. Burial was in Pinedale Assemble of God cemetery in Clanton with Martin Funeral Home directing. Mr. Headley was born June 17, 1919, in Chilton County to the late Lee and Maggie Keith Headley. He worked as a barber and served in the U. S. Army during World War II. He died May 12, 1998, at the Bill Nichols Veterans Home in Alexander City. He is survived by his former wife, Jewel Headley of Clanton; a daughter Rena Willis of Clanton; a step-son, James Connell of Montgomery; a step-daughter, Sue Gay of Clanton; two brothers, Melvin and Vernon Headley, both of Clanton; two sisters: Myrtle Ellison and Alice Popwell, both of Clanton; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Born on Nov. 16, 1919 to William Jasper Henderson and Mary Magdalene Henderson, he died April 28, 2003 at Chilton Medical Center in Clanton. Survivors include his sons Ellis Henderson of Marbury and John Henderson of Montgomery; daughters Annette Smitherman of Randolph, Fae Davis of Montgomery, Roberta Mays of Wetumpka and Magdalene Milstead of Montgomery; sisters Myrtle Smitherman of Centreville, Evelyn Bice of Brent and Jewel Davenport of Randolph; 18 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Tommy Reaves and Rev. Jim Powell officiating. Born on Aug. 18, 1919 in Chilton County, he was the son of the late Samuel Henley and the late Mary Susan Vance Henley. An Army recruiter, he died on Sept. 28, 2001 at Bill Nichols Veterans Home in Alexander City. He is survived by his wife, Alee Culp Henley of Sylacauga; two daughters, Linda Henley Arledge of Deatsville and Debbie Henley Duncan of Sylacauga; two sons-in-law, Gerald Aredge of Deatsville and Donald Duncan of Sylacauga; two grandsons, Christopher Butts of Sylacauga and Blane Arledge of Deatsville; a granddaughter, Crystal Arledge of Deatsville; and two great-grandchildren.

Cleckler, Clanton; one brother, James C. Deason, Gordo; several nieces and one nephew; one special friend, Emma Smith, Selma. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oklee Cleckler.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Shirley Jean Cleckler of Verbena; a daughter Dianne Patterson of Verbena; four sons; Ray, Roger, Perry Gene and Mark Cleckler, all of Verbena; two sisters: LaMerle Driver of Billinglsey and Lulabelle Kelley of Clanton; a brother, Junior Cleckler of Millbrook; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
