Ben Dykes of Oneonta, and Sam Dykes of Birmingham, 2 Half-Sisters, Mrs. Josephine Gray of Clanton, and Mrs. Lena Gray of Birmingham. He was Son of Late Elder Joshua Marion Dykes, Jr.

Dykes, Mrs. Laura Anna Dennis, age 80, died at the home in Clanton Friday, August 26th. Services were at Bethel Primitive Baptist Church.

Dykes, Mrs Lula Catherine, age 69, died suddenly at her home Sunday following a heart attack. Surviving are the husband, H. M. Dykes, Jemison; a brother, F. M. Norris, Montgomery; a sister, Mrs. Annie Waites, Deatsville, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at New Hope Baptist Church Monday at 2 p.m. with the Elder J. B. Williams officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Evans Funeral Home in charge.

Easterling, Dorothy Catherine, 72, of Clanton, died Saturday, May 1, 2010 at her residence. She was born on Wednesday, March 16, 1938 in Chilton Co., Alabama, Daughter of the late L.B. Adams and the late Camillia Easterling. She was a Cook. Surviving are her Husband, Ennis L. Easterling of Clanton, AL; 3 Sons, Ira L. Easterling of Umatilla, FL, Vernon Easterling of Calera, AL, James Warren Easterling of Clanton, AL; Daughter, Evangeline Griffin of Clanton, AL; 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; Brother, J.L. Adams of Clanton, AL. She was preceded in death by her Parents, L.B. & Camillia Adams. Graveside services will be held Monday, May 3, 2010, at 2:00PM. at Refuge Baptist cemetery with Rev. David Reed and Rev. Charles Brooks officiating. Martin Funeral Home directing.

Easterling, Elijah Crawford
Easterling, Elijah Crawford, age 66, of Clanton, Rte. 1, died at a local hospital last Thursday. Services were held at Sunshine Saturday morning at 11 o'clock conducted by Revs. M. Lockhart and Morris Mims; Martin in charge. (pallbearers and flower ladies were listed.) The wife, Mrs. Susie Wilson Easterling, survives; son, Leon Easterling of Route 1, daughter, Mrs Reba Kelley of Route 1, sister, Mrs. Tom Minor of
Clanton Rte. 1; two half sisters, Mrs. Schrilla Mims. Mrs. W. A. Bell; three half brothers, -- Sam, Mallie and Ollie Easterling. Native of Chilton county, he was a son of John Easterling and Rebecca Lockhart Easterling.

Easterling, Kemmie L., age 53, of Route 5, died at a Montgomery hospital last Friday at 10:25 p.m. Services were held at Concord Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock. conducted by Revs. Stuckey Carroll and Williams. Martin in charge of arrangements. (Pallbearers were listed) The wife Mrs. Mable Birdie Easterling, survives; 3 sons -- James Willie of the U. S. Army in Japan, J. E. and Charles Wayne of Clanton; 2 daughters -- Mrs. Mable Joyce Bates and Mrs. Nellie Faye Nelson both of Clanton; 3 grandchilden; father J. Lewis Easterling of Route 1; 4 brothers -- Jim, Allie, and Judson all of Clanton Routes, and Curtis of Birmingham; six sisters -- Mrs. L. D. Adams, Mrs Minnie Blalock, Mrs. Roberta Mims, Mrs. Estelle Johnson and Mrs. Effie Wyatt, all of Clanton. Kemmie Easterling, a mute, was a native of Chilton county, his mother being the late Mahala Baker Easterling. He was a member of Concord Baptist church.

Graveside funeral services for Jimmy W. Easterling, 58, were held Saturday at Walnut Creek United Methodist Church cemetery in Clanton with Brother Randal Mims officiating and Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, Miss. directing. Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Easterling of Iuka, Miss.; brothers Edwin Easterling and Ricky Easterling, both of Clanton. Jimmy died at his home in Iuka, Miss. on Wednesday, Oct. 24.

Funeral services for Leonard C. Easterling, 88, Clanton, were held on Thursday, Nov. 11, 1999, at Martin Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. W. T. Cleckler and Rev. Charles Easterling officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Springs Methodist cemetery in Clanton, with Martin Funeral Home directing. Easterling was born on July 9, 1911, in Chilton County. He died on Nov. 9, 1999 at Chilton Medical Center in Clanton. Survivors include four sons, Everett Easterling, Cropwell, Hershell Easterling, Clanton, Royce Easterling, Gadsden, and Ray Easterling, Jacksonville, Fla.; three daughters, Glenda Mims, Clanton, Doris Coleman, Tuscaloosa, and Joyce Williamson, Buford, Ga.; one brother, Roland Easterling, Clanton; three sisters, Mildred Gore, Thorsby, and Willodean Johnson and Nell Easterling, both of Clanton; 18 grandchildren; 17great-grandchildren; and on great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services for Lucille Johnson Easterling, 85, of Jemison, will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 8, 2001 at Pinedale Assembly of God, with the Revs. Thurmond Cleckler and Randal Mims officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Creek United Methodist Cemetery, with Martin Funeral Home directing. She was born in Chilton County on April 27, 1915, the daughter of the late Johnny Johnson and Sally Barker [sic] Johnson. She died at Hatley Health Care on March 6, 2001. She was a secretary. She is survived by three sons, Jimmy Wayne Easterling of Iuka, Miss., James Edwin Easterling and Charles Ricky Easterling, both of Jemison; one brother, Johnny Johnson of Foley; two sisters, Louise Patterson and Mildred Scott, both of Clanton; two grandchildren and tree great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mary Maggie Easterling, 91, of Clanton, were held at Sunshine Assembly of God on Friday, July 2, 1999, with Rev. Thurmond Cleckler and Rev. Arthur Davis officiating. Burial followed at Sunshine Assembly of God cemetery in Clanton, with Martin Funeral Home directing. Easterling was born on Dec. 24, 1907, in Chilton County, the daughter of the late Martin and Susie Giles. She was a homemaker. She died on June 10, 1999, at Shelby Medical Center in Alabaster. Survivors include two sons, Horace Easterling, Clanton, and Jimmy Ross Easterling, Wetumpka; two daughters, Frances Payton and Betty Sue Galloway, both of Clanton; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard J. Easterling.

Funeral services for Roland Lee Easterling, 84, of Clanton, were held Monday, Sept 2, 2002 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel. Burial services followed at Sunshine Assembly of God cemetery in Clanton. Rev. Arthur Davis and Rev. W. T. Cleckler officiated the service. Born on Feb. 24, 1918 to Johnny Easterling and Rosie Askew Easterling of Chilton County, he died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2002 at Hatley Health Care in Clanton. Survivors include his wife, Gertie M. Easterling of Clanton; son Jimmy Wayne Easterling of Clanton; daughter Sara Nell Robinson of Clanton; sisters Mildred Gore of Thorsby and Willodean Johnson of Clanton; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Easterling, Mrs. Tobitha Robinson, age, 74, died at a local hospital Friday afternoon at 2:20 o'clock. Services were held at Walnut Creek Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock conducted by Revs. Norman Carr, Mobley and Helms.
Martin in charge of arrangements. (Pallbearers were named.) Four sons survive -- James A., Clyde A. and Willie H. Easterling, all of
Clanton, and Elijah of Jemison; one daughter, Mrs. Margie Kennedy of Clanton; 19 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; sister Mrs. Hattie Nell Wyatt of Clanton. Native of Chilton county, she was a daughter of John Robinson and Mahala
Mims Robinson. Her husband, the late Thomas R. Easterling died some 21 years ago.

She was a homemaker. She died on Sept. 26, 2000, at Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery. Survivors include four daughters, Mable C. Gilliland, Prattville, Gail Williams, Orlando, Fla., Sarah Barrett, Jemison, Marie Fields, Montgomery; one son, Wayne Easterling, Prattville; five brothers Jack Easterling, Prattville, Collis Easterling, Ennis Easterling, Sam Easterling, David Easterling, all of Clanton; two sisters, Myrtle Mims and Geraldean Lockhart, both of Clanton; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Hardy Easterling.

Edwards, Charles Evelyn
April 24, 1916 - February 12, 2000
Funeral services for Mrs. Charles Evelyn Wilkerson, 83, Thorsby, were held yesterday at Martin Chapel with the Rev. Harry Gulledge officiating. Burial followed at Thorsby Memorial Cemetery, with Martin Funeral Home directing. Wilkerson was born in Chilton County to the late Robert and Alice Popwell Edwards on April 24, 1916. She died at Shelby Medical Center on February 12. She is survived by one son, Charles Wilkerson of Thorsby; one sister, Marguerite Mooney of Thorsby, three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and one nephew.

Davis of Clanton; sons Eurshel (Faye) Edwards of San Antonio, Texas, Berligh (Ruth) Edwards of Daphne, Joe (Frances) Edwards of Prattville, Lee (Gerry) Edwards of Tillamook, Ore., David (Idis) Edwards of Verbena, Kenneth (Sue) Edwards of Deatsville and Marvin (Carol) Edwards of Canton, Texas; brother Earnest Edwards; 18 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his daughters, Elaine Billingsley of Billingsley, Annie Baker of Verbena and Helen Edwards of Clanton; grandchildren; Butch Billingsley, Phillip Baker, Rosalind Griffin, and Robbie Jones; and great-grandchildren, Phillip Baker II, Will Griffin, Grace Griffin and Lawson Jones.

Burial is in Tabernacle Methodist Church cemetery in Lawley with Martin Funeral Home directing. Mrs Edwards was born Aug. 15, 1910 in Chilton County to the late William Henry and Loutisha Eleanor Dobbs. She was a dietary department worker. She died April 9, 1998, at her residence in Clanton. She is survived by a daughter, Mable Mitchell of Clanton; a son Harold Williams of Clanton; a sister, Lula Mae Smitherman of Clanton; a daughter-in-law, Marie Williams of Clanton; and four grandchildren.
