Funeral services for Jasper Edwards, Jr., 72, of Prattville are today, Jan. 21, 1998, at 2 p.m. at Indian Grave Baptist Church with Rev. Hershel Blalock, Rev. Cecil O. Sewell and Rev. J.W. Shaw officiating Burial is in Martin Memorial cemetery with Martin Funeral Home directing. Mr. Edwards was born May 27, 1925, in Alabama to the late Jasper and Elizabeth Edwards. He served as a minister. He died Jan. 20, 1998, at Baptist Medical Center in Montgomery. He is survived by his wife, Betty D. Edwards of Prattville; a daughter, Renee Sample of Montevallo; a son, Mark Edwards of Clanton; a granddaughter, Suzanne Sample of Montevallo; two sisters: Alice Mims of Montgomery and Leola Milford of Alexander City; and two brothers: James Edwards of Selma and Sam Edwards of Clanton.

Edwards, Lillian Gertrude

Funeral services for Lillian Gertrude Edwards, 94, Clanton, were held on Friday, Dec. 24, 1999, at New Cedron Baptist Church, with Rev. Lyn Rowe and Rev.. Frank Mims officiating. Burial followed at New Cedron Baptist cemetery in Billingsley, with Martin Funeral Home directing. Edwards was born on Sept 1, 1905, in Chilton County, the daughter of the late Will and Alice Burnette. She was a homemaker. She died on Dec. 22, 1999. Survivors include two sons, Julius Edwards, Jr., and Billy F. Edwards, both of Clanton; two daughters, Mary Frances Cox, Clanton, and Charlotte Fay Edwards, Montevallo; one sister, Earnestine Monroe, LaMirada, Calif.; 21 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Julius Edwards, Sr., and one daughter, Alice Elizabeth Cleckler.

Services for Martin Van Edwards, 81, of Clanton will be held Jan. 14 at 3 p.m. at Martin Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Lomax Church of Christ with Reverend Darryl Fuller officiating. Visitation will be today, Jan. 13 at 3 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home. Survivors include his sons, Warren Edwards of Jemison and Martin Edwards of Helena; daughters, Delores Green of Weogulfka, Linda Thomas of Billingsley, Donna Morgan of Clanton and Phoebe Deason of Pensacola, Fla.; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Mr. Edwards was the son of Van Buren and Clara Frazier Edwards.

Funeral services for Paralee Edwards, 97, Clanton, will be held at Martin Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2001, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Kenneth Northcutt, Rev. Lonnie Plunkett, and Rev. Wendell Kelly officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Church of God cemetery in Clanton, with Martin Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held at Martin Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2001 form 5-8 p.m. Edwards was born on Dec. 1, 1903 in Chilton County, the daughter of the late William Cleckler and the late Ida G. Edwards. She was a homemaker. She died on Oct. 7, 2001, at Prattville Baptist Nursing Center. Survivors include three daughters, Drucilla (Bill) Schuffert, Prattville, and Eula (Lester) Parrish and Bernice (Conrow) Easterling, both of Clanton; one son, Darvin (Myrtice) Edwards, Clanton; one sister, Lettie Smith, Sylacauga. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Edwards.

Funeral services for Sam Edwards, 80, Clanton, will be held on Wednesday, June 9, 1999, at 1 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home, with Rev. Steve Inman officiating. Burial will follow at Martin Memorial cemetery in Clanton, with Martin Funeral Home directing. Edwards was born on Oct. 17, 1918, in Alabama, the son of the late Jasper and Lizzie Edwards, Sr. He was a supervisor. He died on June 6, 1999 at Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham. Among the survivors are his wife, Margie K. Edwards, Clanton; two daughters, Audrey E. Giles, Clanton, and Helen E. Reynolds, Boynton Beach, Fla.; one son, Delbert Lamar Edwards, Burleson, Texas; one Step-son, Steve Raymond, Interlachen, Fla; one brother, James Edwards, Clanton; two sisters, Alice Mims, Montgomery, and Leola MIlford, Alexander City; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

William Andrew Edwards, age 65, died Tues. His Funerla was conducted by Rev. G.G. Williams. Burial was at the Concord Cemetery. He is survived by his Wife, 3 Sons, 2 Daughters, he was Son of Tobe and Mary Johnson Edwards and was born 2 miles south east of Clanton. He married Miss Lula Maddox 46 years ago.

Funeral services for Cecil Eiland, 86 of Clanton, will be held Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003 at 1 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Alvin Porter officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Methodist cemetery in Thorsby. Born on April 27, 1916 to Terrance Eiland and Betty Eiland, he died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster. Survivors include sisters Fannie M. Cox of Alabaster, Frances Downs of Canton, Md. and Myrtle Conner of Greenrock, IL.

Eiland, Coolie John, age 80 died at the residence in Lindon, Ala. Saturday, February 4th at 12:30 p. m. Services were held at the Lindon Baptist Church Monday morning at 10 o'clock conducted by Rev. Jack Green, Spigener of Demopolis in charge. Pallbearers were; M. F. Law, Cephus Holliman, R. J. Westbrook. Tom Boggs, Jasper Tucker and C. A. Barkley; honorary -- Berlin McKinney, U. B. Weaver, G. B. Chandler, Roy Hartsell, H. E. Scott, F. M. Jones, Roy Rhoades, Dr. G. J. Dunning Sr, Dennis Barkley, Dr. Kimbrell. The wife, Mrs Mattie Headley Eiland survives; one daughter, Mrs Ada Alleen Gbio of Roanoke, Va.; two grandsons -- Herbert Doyle of Linden and Ralph Doyle of Roanoke, Va.; sister, Mrs. Alice Harris of Clanton. Mr. Eiland, well known in Chilton County during the earlier years was born at Coopers; was a member of the Linden Baptist Church, former school teacher, for many years had the dis_____ of being the ranking Republican of Marengo County. He was a farmer and grist mill operator. A brother was the late Dr. R. J. Eiland of Clanton.

Watts, fo Talladega, 4 Daughters, Mrs. T. J. Hamilton of Atmore, Ala. Mrs. W.F. Gilliland of Clanton, Mrs. Willie J. Gray of Clanton, and Mrs. A. L. Bowles, Clanton, 1 Brother, Stephen Hilyer. She was born and reared in Coosa Co.

Mrs. Ethel Lee Eiland Calloway, Wife of Harley Calloway, age 56, of Coopers died Tuesday. Burial was at Chestnut Creek. Funeral service was conducted by Rev. G.G. Williams. She is survived by 2 Daughters, Mrs. C.A. Allmond of Texas, Mrs. C. B. Clements of Selma, her Mother, Mrs. Zack A. Eiland of Mountain Creek, 5 Grandchildren, 1 Sister, Mrs. Jettie Lake of Troy, 7 Brothers, Dr. John D. Eiland of Clanton, William F. Eiland of Verbena, Sam Eiland of Dothan, Clayton and Oscar Eiland of Montgomery, Enoch Eiland of Benton, James Eiland in Military Service.

Eiland, Felix
Eiland, Felix, age 85, died at the home at Thorsby last Saturday morning at 8:45 o'clock following a long illness. Services were held at
Thorsby Baptist Church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. B. B. Burks; Spigener directing. Masons were in charge of the grave burial in Thorsby cemetery. The wife, Mrs Sarah Foshee Eiland, survives, as well as one son, E. H. Eiland of Thorsby; four sisters -- Mrs. Jennie Higgins of Pensacola, Fla., Mrs. C. C. Hays and Mrs. Frances Higgins both of Birmingham. Mr. Eiland was a member of a pioneer family of Chilton County, son of Ab. Eiland and Annie Chjristian Eiland, who spent their lifetime in the Cedar Grove community. Mr. Eiland has been a prominent and influential citizen of Thorsby for a number of years.

He was a welder. He died on May 11, 2000, at Medical Center East in Birmingham. Survivors include his wife, Bessie Eiland, Clanton; two sons, Roger Eiland and Lynn Eiland, both of Clanton; one daughter, Juliet Hayes, Clanton; one brother, Jesse Eiland, Saraland; one sister, Pauline Owen, Winter Garden, Fla; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Burial followed at Pates Chapel Baptist cemetery in Jemison, with Martin Funeral Home Chapel officiating. Visitation will be held at Martin Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, June 28, 2001, from 5-8 p.m. Eiland was born on Sept. 25, 1911, in Chilton County, the daughter of the late Charles Hayes and the late Mamie Hayes. She was a housewife. She died on June 27, 2001, at Chilton Medical Center in Clanton. Survivors include her husband, Cecil Eiland, Thorsby; two daughters, Catherine Dawson, Jemison, and Geraldine Eiland, Clanton; one sister, Marie Williams, Clanton; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
