Hayes was born in Chilton County on Oct. 4, 1912, the daughter of the late John Wesley and Lee Allison Burt. She was a homemaker. She died at Vaughn Regional Medical Center in Selma. Survivors include three sons, Emmett Hayes, Picayune, Miss., Robert Hayes, Waldorn, Ark., William Hayes, Stanton; three daughters: Lilah Johnson, Selma, Eleanor Smith, Maplesville, Linda Atcheson, Stanton ;two brothers: J. W. Burt, Stanton, and Felix Burt, Maplesville; four sisters, Lillian Green, Maplesville, Ruth Gandy, Birmingham, Alberta Adams, Prattville, and Blossom Jones, Lipscomb, 27 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services for Mable Marie Hayes, 81, Maplesville, were held at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church on Thursday, July 26, 2001, at 2 p.m. with Rev. James (Bo) Deloach officiating. Burial followed at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Maplesville, with Martin Funeral Home directing. Hayes, was born on March 10, 1920, in Chilton County, the daughter of the late William Carter and the late Lessie G. Carter. She was a homemaker. She died on July 24, 2001, at Hatley Health Care in Clanton. Survivors include her husband, Sam Hayes, Maplesville; four daughters, Johnnie Faye Gandy and Connie Smith, Both of Maplesville, Barbara Sims, Selma, and Nelda Frith, Lawley; six brothers, Clyde Carter and Bill Carter, both of Selma, Gordon Carter, Plantersville, Tom Carter, Ed Carter, Earnest Carter all of Maplesville; seven sisters, Katie Rhodes, Louise Smitherman, and Shirley Smitherman, all of Maplesville, Margie Rhodes, Plantersville, Nancy Capitina, Stanton, Ruthie McDaniel, Billingsley, Syble Ahlberg, Clanton; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Methodist cemetery in Clanton. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6, 2001 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel. Born on Dec. 7, 1936, she was the daughter of the late James Frank Wright and the late Alvys Irene Wright. A sewing inspector, she died on March 5, 2001 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Birmingham. She is survived by her husband, Fred L. Hayes of Clanton; a son and daughter-in-law, David L. and Wanda Hayes of Jemison; a son and daughter-in-law, T. Daniel and Lisa Hayes of Clanton; a daughter and son-in-law, Debra Hayes and Larry Martin of Clanton; two grandsons, David Hayes of Jemison and Terry Hayes of Clanton; and two granddaughters, Marlee Hayes of Jemison and Danielle Hayes of Clanton.

He was born Oct. 7, 1918 in Chilton County, son of the late Alonza Wilbur Hayes, Sr. and the late Mary Frances Short. He worked as a mechanic. Surviving are his wife, Emell Hayes of Plantersville; sons, W. C. Hayes of Maplesville and Ralph Hayes of Pensacola, Fla.; daughters, Helen Jackson of Braselton, Geo. And Betty Wells of Maplesville; brothers, A. W. Hayes of Dufuniak Springs, Fla., Thomas Hayes of Maplesville, Carl Hayes of Selma, 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild. Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. today, March 19, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Robert Lovelady and Rev. William Short officiating. Burial will follow in the Sardis Baptist Cemetery, Maplesville. Survivors include his wife, Emell Hayes of Plantersville; two sons, W. C. He worked as a truck driver. He died Feb. 23, 1999, at his residence. He is survived by his companion, Mary Lee of Clanton; four daughters: Doris Hayes (Robert) Walsh of Clanton, Sharon Sue Hayes of Chicago, Ill., Julia Hayes (Randy) Smith of Clanton, and Bonnie Schmite of Hickory Hills, Ill.; five sisters: Melda Mae Gilliland of Clanton, Dean Roper of Maplesville, Pauline Arant of Clanton, Essie White of Maplesville and Ann Cummings of Thorsby; two brothers: Chester Hayes and Linwood Hayes, both of Clanton; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, two step-sons and three step-daughters.

Carmel cemetery with Martin Funeral Home directing. Mr. Hazel died at UAB Medical Center in Birmingham. He was a Credit Manager. He is survived by his widow, Sybil Hazel. She is survived by four sister: Dixie Chambers, Mrs. Virgil Melton, Faye Smith and Jo Ann Sims, all of Maplesville; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Tim Mims, Tommy Little, Kim Melton, Larry Smith, Kenny Scofield, Frank Lightsey, Todd Chambers and Mike Chambers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your favorite charities or to the cemetery fund at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church #2 in Maplesville.

Headley and Odis Headley, both of Clanton; two daughters, Mrs. Lucille Headley and Mrs. Reesie Jones, both of Clanton; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.

Survivors included his wife, Lola Headley, Plantersville; one son Jerry (Lona) Headley, Sr., Selma; two daughters Diane (Ray) Glass, Selma, and Elsie (Marcus) Combs, Selma; one daughter Gail Gray, Plantersville; one daughter-in-law, Betty Headley, Plantersville; four brothers, Euell Hedley, Lakeland, Fla., Paul Headley, Perry, Fla., Perry Headley, Deatsville, and John Headley, Plant City, Fla; one sister, Mary Edwards, Clanton; 16 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by F. J. Headley.

Services for Harmon O'Relious "H. O" Headley, 83 of Clanton, were held Monday, Aug. 25 at Martin Funeral Home. Burial took place at Pleasant Grove Methodist Cemetery. He died Friday, Aug. 22 at UAB Hospital. He was a farmer. He is survived by his wife, Agnes E. Headley of Clanton, two sons - Wayne Headley of Clanton and Joseph Headley of Centerpoint, two daughters - Gail Williams of Centerpoint and Joyce Raney of Hueytown. He is also survived by two step-sons, Lynn Easterling of Hoover and Ray Mell Easterling of Birmingham as well as one sister, Kathryn Jones of Sylacauga in addition to nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
