Survivors include his father, Charles Roland Jones of Jemison; his mother, Virginia Yvonne Jones of Clanton; a sister, Amanda Rhodes of Clanton; a grandfather, Jim Scott of Clanton; a grandmother, Ellen Scott of Clanton; a grandfather, Charles Jones of Jemison; a grandmother, Pernie Jones of Jemison; a half brother, Clay Jones of Jemison; a step-mother, Glenda Jones of Jemison; a step-father, Rocky Hepinstall of Clanton; a nephew, Kaleb Kilgore of Clanton and nieces Victoria and Devon Rhodes of Clanton.

Funeral services for Clyde Jones, 73, of Clanton, were held on Monday, July 14, 1997 at the Martin Chapel at 4 p.m. with the Reverend Dearl Lett officiating. Burial was at Mt. Pisgah cemetery in Clanton with the Martin Memorial cemetery directing. Mr. Jones was born in Chilton County on October 9, 1923 to the late Wesley Jones and Sussie Cleckley Jones. He died at his residence in Clanton on July 11, 1997. He is survived by his wife, Willodean Jones, Clanton; a daughter, Annette Mims, Clanton; a grandson, Greg Mims, Clanton; in-law, Renee Mims, Clanton; a great-grandchild, Kaelyn Mims, Clanton; four brothers and three sisters, J. W. Jones, N.J.; Elijah Jones, John Jones and James Jones, Clanton; Louise Little, Hope Hull; Willodean Barrett, Verbena; Dorthey Burnett, Jemison.

Easterling, Darlene Jones

Funeral services for Darlene Jones Easterling, 41, Clanton, were held at Northside Baptist Church in Clanton on Sunday, May 23, 1999, with Rev. Evie Megginson, Rev. Allen Patterson and Rev. Billy Wyatt officiating. Burial followed at Jones cemetery in Jemison, with Martin Funeral Home. Easterling was born on March 21, 1958, in Alabama, the daughter of Charlie and Pernie Jones. She was an owner and operator. She died at her residence on May 22, 1999. Among the survivors are her husband, Barry Easterling; two daughters, Candy Bradberry, Clanton, and Adena Green, Maplesville; her father, Charlie Jones, Randolph; her mother Pernie Jones, Randolph; three brothers Julius Jones, Randolph, Randy Jones, Maplesville, Roland Jones, Six Mile; three sisters, Patsy Roper, Maplesville, Glenda Popwell and Linda Griffin, both of Clanton; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services for Elsie Mae Jones, 88, Clanton, were held on Monday, Feb. 7, 2000, at Martin Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Hershel Blalock officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Pisgah cemetery in Clanton, with Martin Funeral Home directing. Jones was born on Dec. 1, 1911, in Alabama, the daughter of the late Willie F. and Lonie Glenn. She was a homemaker. She died on Feb. 5, 2000, at Chilton Medical Center in Clanton. Survivors include one daughter, Betty Yeargan, Clanton; two brothers, Virdie Glenn, Jemison, and Virgil Glenn, Clanton; one sister Lera Jones, Clanton; and one granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Jones.

Jones, Elsie Redemer

Funeral services for Redemer Elsie Jones, 89, of Florala, will be held Sunday, Aug. 25, 2002 at 2 P.m. at Pine Hill Cemetery, Burial will follow at Pine Hill cemetery in Jemison. Born to Exer Washington Blackmon and Janie Jones Blackmon of Coosa County on July 21, 1913, she died Thursday, Aug. 22, 2002 at Opp Nursing Home. Survivors include sons Clarence W. Davis of Millbrook, James D. Davis of Millbrook, Donald G. Davis of Montgomery, Thomas F. Davis of Wetumpka and Bobby Wayne Davis in Montgomery; daughter Elizabeth Ann Bigger of Florala; sisters Dorabell Cook of Thorsby; Pearly Smitherman of Clanton, Ida Bass of Clanton and Dorothy Minor of Thorsby; 24 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and a host of great-great-grandchildren. Her husband, James Jones preceded her in death.

Hodgens, Eloyse J.
June 27, 1914 - February 10, 2001
Funeral services for Eloyse J. Hodgens, 86 and a resident of Davidston, Ala., and formerly of Cooper, will be held on Monday, Feb. 12, 2001, at Chestnut Creek cemetery in Cooper, with the Rev. Tommy Jacobs officiating. Heritage Chapel Funeral Home of Alexander City will direct. Born on June 27, 1914, she was the daughter of Jesse C. and Louisa Jones. A native of Cooper, she has lived in Davidston for the past six years. She was a member of the West End Baptist Church in Clanton, and she died on Feb. 10, 2001 at her home. She is survived by her son, John Maurice Hodgens of Biloxi, Miss.; her daughter, Nell H. Glaze of Davidston; a sister, Margie Nell Smith of Charleston, S.C.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests that donations be made to the Country Acres Care Homes, P.O. Box 55, Davidston, AL 36526. This home was founded in her honor.

Funeral services for Henry Dewell Jones, 81, Selma, were held on Thursday, Jan. 20, 2000, at Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Clanton, with Rev. Jeff Hughes officiating. Burial followed at Chestnut Creek Baptist Church in Verbena, with Martin Funeral Home directing. Jones was born on Nov. 13, 1918, in Chilton County, the son of the late Joe Berry and Janie Jones. He was a supervisor. He died on Jan. 19, 2000, at Vaughn Regional Hospital in Selma. Survivors include his wife, Tommie R. Jones, Selma; two daughters, Maureen Acklin, Atlanta, Ga., and Amy Jones Howell, Jackson, Tenn.; one sister, Nita Eiland, Montgomery; and three grandchildren.

He died at Chilton Medical Center in Clanton. Survivors include five daughters, Sally Annette Jones, Montgomery, Mary Ellen Hunter, Albuquerque, NM, Helen Ruth Browning, Sylacauga, Diann Harris, Wetumpka, Clara Mae Landers, Delhi, Calif, ; two brothers, Oscar Herman Jones, Birmingham, and Roy Austin Jones, Billingsley; two sisters, Celestia Wynell Moore, Verbena, and Frances Elizabeth Owens, Maryland; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was a pastor and a mortician for 59 years. Mr. Jones died October 22. He is survived by his wife, Martha Nell Jones of Maplesville; two daughters, Pat William of Millbrook and Judy Walls of Maplesville; a son, Jack A. Jones of Calera; a sister, Rosa Lee Guinn of Clanton; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Ludie B. Jones, 87, of Columbiana died Sept. 16, 2003, at her daughter's home in Calera. She was born in Chilton County in 1916. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Columbiana. For 35 years, she took care of many children in her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Jones, and her daughter, Alma Jean Wright. She is survived by her children, Charles (Betty F.) Allen Jones of Columbiana, Peggy Joyce (Jim) Lee of Calera and Jimmy Wayne Jones of Columbiana; her sister, Doris F. (Buford) Lawrence of Billingsley; two brothers, Melvin Foshee of Clanton and Napoleon Foshee of Billingsley; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Service was Sept. 18 at Bolton Brown Service Chapel, the Rev. Mike Miller presiding. Burial followed in Pinelawn Gardens, Bolton Brown Service Funeral Home directing.

Memorial graveside services for Margie Smith, 84, of Charleston, S.C., will be held Feb. 20 at 10 a.m. at Chestnut Creek Cemetery. Reverend Derrick Deavers will officiate. Mrs., Smith was born in Clanton in 1919 and died in Charleston Jan. 23. Survivors include her sons, David Ruff of Houston and Jesse Ruff of Charleston; daughter, Martha Annalise Ruff of Denver; grandchildren, Samantha Watkins and Brad Ruff; niece Nell Glaze of Alex City and nephew John Hodgens of Biloxi. In lieu of flowers make donations to the Chestnut Creek cemetery Fund. She was the daughter of Jesse and Louisa Jones.
