Burial will follow at Zion Ridge Church of God Cemetery. Born on Aug. 8, 1931 to Dock Cleckler and Jewel Cleckler, she died July 29, 2003 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. Survivors include her husband George W. Jones of Clanton; son Jimmy R. (Peggy) Jones of Clanton; daughters Linda (Joe Earl) Adams of Clanton and Joyce (James) Johnson of Thorsby; granddaughters Krystal Parker of Clanton and Cedena Owens of Clanton; grandsons Joey Adams of Clanton and Mark Johnson of Thorsby; great-grandchildren Ashley Parker, Courtney Johnson, Alexa Owens and Katelyn Adams; brothers Herman Cleckler of Clanton, Dale Cleckler of Clanton and Roy Cleckler of Clanton; sisters Ruth Hudman of Clanton and Judy Baker of Clanton; five step-grandchildren.

Mrs. Mattie B. Jones, age 70, died at home of her daughter, Mrs. Jesse miner near Cordray's Old Mill Sunday afternoon. Burial was at Poplar Springs Cemetery. She was the widow of Joe Jones who died 30 years ago. She was born in Coosa Co. and before her marriage she was Miss Mattie DeVaughn. Her only Sister is Mrs. Bob Grant of Coopers. Three Sons, Elijah, Walter, and Renfrow all of Clanton, living daughters Miss Elvira Jones, Mrs. Dock Bone, and Mrs. Hattie Nobles, Mrs. Claudie Miner, and Mrs. Flossie Thornton.

Robinson, Mildred Erlene Jones
September 22, 1916 - October 16, 2001
Funeral services for Mildred Erline Jones Robinson, 85, Clanton, will be held at Providence Baptist Church No. 2 in Clanton on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2001, at 1 p.m., with Rev. Alvin Porter, Rev. Evie Megginson, and Rev. Glen Bonds officiating. Robinson was born on Sept. 22, 1916, in Chilton County, the daughter of the late Lynn Jones and the late Exa Robinson. she was a salesperson. She died at Hatley Health Care in Clanton on Oct. 16, 2001. Survivors include two sons, Ross (Ann) Robinson and Ricky (Shirley) Robinson, both of Clanton; one brother, Wallace Jones, Phoenix city; one sister, Betty Sue Fuller, Phoenix City; three grandsons, Glenn Robinson, Brian Robinson, and Brent Robinson, all of Clanton; two granddaughters, Kim Thrash, Wetumpka, and Shana Genebacher, Germany; six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, E. Houston Robinson. The family requests no flowers be sent. Donations may instead be sent to the Providence Baptist Church Building Fund.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nolon T. Jones; her son, Gilbert Jones and her grandson, Richard Wayne Moon.

Jones and Isabella Jones, he died July 17, 2003 at Chilton Medical Center in Clanton. Survivors include his wife Betty A. Jones of Clanton; sons Barry (Dixie) Jones of Clanton and Greg (Angie) Jones of Coalmont, Tenn.; grandsons Brian (Raquel) Jones of Calera and Steven Jones of Coalmont, Tenn.; granddaughters Bridgette (Jason) Coodey of Clanton, Jessica Jones of Coalmont, Tenn. and Destiny Jones of Coalmont, Tenn., great-grandchildren Joseph Coodey of Clanton and Isabella Jones of Calera; brother George W. Jones of Clanton.

Funeral services for Robert Euell Jones, 70, Verbena, will be held at Chestnut Creek Baptist Church on Thursday, Nov. 18, 1999 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Warren Culver, Donny Burns, and Rev. Derrick Deavers officiating. Burial will follow at Chestnut Creek Baptist Church at Verbena, with Martin Funeral Home directing. Jones was born on Jan. 1, 1929, in Alabama, the son of Robert Archie and Eva Jones. He was a merchant and was in the Navy. He died on Nov. 15, 1999, at University of Alabama Hospital in Birmingham. Survivors include his wife, Faye Jones, Verbena; one son, Steve Jones, Clanton; one daughter, Kathy Acton, Birmingham, ; one sister, Dorothy Thompson, Shorter; and five grandchildren.

Sarah Argie Jones was the daughter of Billie Jones and she was born near Old Salem on the River. She married Joseph W. Foshee 54 years ago and he died 5 years ago. She was born 6-28-1869.

Survivors include her husband, James Smolon Thornton, Clanton; one son, Harold Thornton, Clanton; one daughter, Janice Wilson, Holtville; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Earl Leslie Hicks officiating and Martin Funeral Home directing. Jones was born on Oct. 28, 1900, in Chilton County, the son of the late Robert J. Jones and the late Liza Ann Jones. He was a sales clerk. He died on Jan. 8, 2003, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Birmingham. Survivors include three nieces, Ann Cleere, Maylene, Peggy Thomas and Kay Shannon, both of Birmingham; one nephew, Ken Jones, Hoover. .

Burial was at the Temple assembly Church of God cemetery with the Prattville Memorial Chapel officiating. Mr. Jones died on July 11, 1997. He was preceded in death by his sister Mamie Jones Minor. He is survived by his wife, Velma Mims Jones, Clanton; a son, Joseph Harold Jones, Clanton; a daughter and son-in-law, Delores and Bernie Leedy, Atlanta, Ga.; two brothers, Brady Jones, Childersburg; Clyde Jones, Selma; one sister, Eunice Hazel Mims, Wetumpka; grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Pallbearers: Joseph Jones, Dale Jones, Tod Jones, Rick Lowe, Jim Blocker and Jones Blocker.

Mrs. Charlie Stroud of Enterprise died in Clanton Hospital Tuesday following a fall from the Hospital elevator Sunday. She was the Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.Y. Keel.

Howard Allen Keener, 67 of Maplesville passed away Saturday, April 5, 2003. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2003 at Alpine Baptist Church with Rev. Ray Smitherman, Rev. William Earl Short and Rev. Willard Scott officiating. Viewing will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Alpine Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Keener was preceded in death by his parents Clint and Lula Keener and brothers Gordon Keener and Chester Lenoir. He is survived by his four children Thomas Keener (Jackie) of Maplesville, Patsy Bishop (Keith) of Calera, Peggy Sewell (Roland) of Prattville and Joe Keener (Sheila) of Maplesville; brother Paul Keener (Evelyn) of Maplesville; ten grandchildren Janet Garren, Allen Keener, Michelle Tate, Monica Hutchinson, Timothy Alverson, Brandy Keener, Brittney Keener, Jeremy Sewell, Jessica Keener and Joshua Sewell; ten great-grandchildren Damon Gans, Trevor Garren, Devin and Skyler Keener, Justin Tate, Jacob, Taz and Adam Hutchinson, Aspen and Alana Alverson. He was also loved by many other relatives and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be jessie Harrison, William Earl Willitte and Ernie Moates. Pallbearers will be Allen Keener, Timothy Alverson, Gregory Hutchinson, Jason Tate, David Alverson, Gregory Lenoir, Wes Dees and Keith Chandler.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hughey Edward Carroll.
