Dr. S.C. Matthews, Prominent Clanton Doctor dropped dead Friday morning while cranking his automobile. Burial was Clanton City Cemetery. His Father-In-Law was Mr. O. E. Latham.

McCraw was born on Nov. 2, 1936, in Chilton County, the daughter of the late Elder B. Thornton and the late Ruby Kathryn Thornton. She was a sewing supervisor. She died on March 18, 2002, at her residence. Survivors include two daughters, Rita (Tommy) Robbins, Verbena and Melissa (Greg) Wooten, Duncanville; three brothers, Jimmy Charles Thornton, Maplesville, Eddie Frank Thornton, Sr., and Timothy William Thornton, both of Selma; two sisters, Mary Kathryn (Kay) Wilson and Pamela Jane (Pam) Graham, both of Clanton; two grandsons, Johnny Reed Tippett, Clanton, and Tommy Charles (T.C.) Robbins, Verbena; one granddaughter, Natilie McCraw Wooten, Duncanville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy McCraw; her parents, Elder B. and Kathryn Thornton; and one brother, Jeffery Alvin Thornton

Funeral services for Ezra Voncille McCullough, 67, Thorsby, will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999, at 2 p.m. at Milton Baptist Church in Milton, with Rev. Ricky Patterson officiating. Burial will be at Weaver cemetery in the Bethel Community, with Martin Funeral Home directing. McCullough was born on April 20, 1932, in Autauga County, the daughter of the late John Ezra and Nora Colee. She was a homemaker. She died on Nov. 7, 1999, at her residence. Survivors include her husband, William Harrell McCullough, Thorsby; one son, William Herrell McCullough, Jr., Thorsby; two brothers, Calbert William Colee, Jones, and Leland Alexander Colee, Gold River, Calif.; two sisters, Virginia Nell Colee, Selma, and Flora Jean Pickering, Plantersville; 11 nieces; 10 nephews; and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, William Jesse McCullough; her parents, John Ezra and Nora Colee; one sister Mautis Colee Donavan; and one brother Clifton Kelley Colee.

Woodie Lee McGee, age 67, of Lawley died Monday. His funeral was conducted at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with burial at old Pleasant Hill cemetery near Maplesville. Survived by his Wife, 2 Sons, W. G. of Lawley and L.P. of Selma, 1 Daughter, Mrs. Annie Sewell of Lawley, 8 Brothers, Fred of Centreville, Arthur of Tuscaloosa, Walker and Harvey of Fla., Lonnie of Selma, Edd of Clanton, Clayton and Sam of Maplesville.

McKay, Dortha Irene Traywick

Funeral services for Irene McKay, 91 and a resident of Clanton, were held on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001 at Martin Funeral Home chapel, with Rev. Jimmy Simpler and Rev. Ralph Mims officiating. Interment followed at Chestnut Creek Baptist cemetery in Verbena. Born on March 14, 1909, she was the daughter of the late James Henry Traywick and the late Mary Ann Traywick. A homemaker, she died on Dec. 30, 2000 at Hatley Health Care in Clanton. She is survived by four daughters, Lois DeVaughn of Verbena, Clara Ann Richardson of Orlando, Fla., Euba Joyce Melhem of Orlando, Fla., and Charlice Mae Savoie of Verbena; two step-sons, Bill McKay of Norristown, Pa., and Lawrence McKay of Oneona; a step-daughter, Mary Ruth Magnesco of Orange Park, Fla.; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held at Martin Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, May 22, 2001, from 5-8 p.m. McKee was born on Dec. 20, 1922, in Chilton County, the son of the late Jim McKee and the late Maggie Delene McKee. He was a welder. He died on Monday, May 21, 2001, at his residence. Survivors include his wife, Pearl McKee, Jemison; two sons, James Carl McKee and Barney Gabriel McKee, both of Jemison; one daughter, Delores Averette, Thorsby, and 13 grandchildren.

She was a general store owner. She died on Aug. 7, 2000 at Woodley Manor Nursing Home in Montgomery. Survivors include one daughter, Ann Whatley, Auburn, and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil McKee.

Burial was in Martin Memorial cemetery in Clanton with Martin Funeral Home directing. Mr. McKee was born Feb. 14, 1941, in Alabama to the late Jim and Maggie Delene Knight McKee. He worked as a truck driver. He died Oct. 4, 1998, at his residence in Clanton. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth B. McKee of Clanton; a daughter, Melinda Kaye Gray of Clanton; three sons: Tim McKee of Clanton, Phillip McKee of Thorsby and Gary McKee of Clanton; a brother Mack McKee of Jemison; and nine grandchildren.

Hodges of Panama City Beach, Fla.; a brother, Thadeus C. McSwain of Atlanta; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Surviving relatives include the husband, Keith Meherg, Verbena; a daughter, Miss Whitney Meherg, Verbena; mother, Mrs. Larita Moton Dunn, Clanton; father, Larry Bean, Clanton; stepfather, Lynn Dunn, Clanton; stepmother, Mrs. Jan Bean, Clanton; sister, Brandy Boockholdt, Clanton; brother, Brandon Bean, Clanton; grandmother, Mrs. Sara Nell Moton, Jemison; and stepbrother, Tyson McLester, Mobile.
