ELIZABETH D. BAXTER

SYLACAUGA — Funeral service for Elizabeth D. Baxter, 82, will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home chapel in Sylacaga with Minister Mike Kiser officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Sylacauga.

Mrs. Baxter died Aug. 26 at Ashville Nursing Home in Ashville.

She is survived by brother, Claude Dunagan of Jacksonville, Ark.; and sister, Irene D. Brown of Marietta, Ga.

The family will receive friends Thursday from noon until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

LILLIE MAE LIMBAUGH McCLELLAN

VALLEY — Funeral service for former Sylacaugan Lillie Mae Limbaugh McClellan, 87, will be Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Johnson-Brown Service Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery.

Mrs. McClellan died Aug. 24 at Lanier Memorial Hospital. She was a member of West End Baptist Church and was retired from West Point Stevens Lanier Mill. She was preceded in death by her parents, Doshia Hay Limbaugh and Walter Limbaugh.

She is survived by one son, Phillip McClellan of West Point, Ga.; one sister, Ginny Adams of Martinez, Ga.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home of Valley will direct the service.

HERBERT RIGGINS JR.

SYLACAUGA — Funeral service for Herbert Riggins Jr., 63, will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Rising Star Baptist Church in Sylacauga. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery in Sylacauga.

Mr. Riggins died Aug. 23. He was a member of Rising Star Baptist Church and was a member of the Deacon's Ministry.

He is survived by his mother, Blanche Mitchell Riggins; sisters, Lois R. Cunningham (Milton C.), Leannier R. Turner (Walter), Shirley R. McCain (William), Mitchelene R. Betts (Ross), Cynthia R. Sims (Frank), Chivalya R. Montgomery (Jack) and Towana R. Davis (Daryl); and brothers, Ret. Lt. Col. Ernest S. Riggins (Jimmye), Shefton Riggins M.D. (Cassandra), Cedric Riggins (Renee) and Keith Riggins.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

The body may be viewed at the church for one hour before the service.

Arrington Funeral Home in Birmingham will direct the service.

HAROLD LESTER SELLERS

MUNFORD — Harold Lester Sellers, 59, died Aug. 23.

He is survived by daughter, Vicky Sellers of Flushing, Mich.; brothers, Robbie Joe Sellers of Hiram, Ga., James Sellers of Lake City, Mich., and Larry Sellers of Flint, Mich.; and sister, Dian Sellers of Flint, Mich.

Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega is in charge of the arrangements.

JAMES FRED SONGER JR.

CUMMING, Ga. — Funeral service for James Fred Songer Jr., 80, will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Bethelview United Methodist Church with the Rev. James Gwinn, the Rev. Ruth Denby and the Rev. Hughlen Cochran officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Songer died Aug. 25 at his residence. He was born July 5, 1923, in Sylacauga. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Fred Songer Sr. and Eva Martin Songer; son, Mark Songer; and sister, Ruth Gray. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving as a sergeant in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He spent most of his married life in Forsyth County and was a member of Bethelview United Methodist Church. He was retired after 35 years of service from Lockheed as an electronics engineer.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Georgia S. Songer of Cumming; children, James F. Songer III of Cumming, Melissa Songer of Bartow, Fla., Matthew Songer of Cumming and Rebecca Price of Watkinsville; sisters, Geneva Ensley of Gadsden and Jeanette Burnham of Pensacola, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The body may be viewed at the church for one hour before the service.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening at L.W. McDonald and Son Funeral Home in Cumming, Ga.

HORACE MONROE BROOKS JR.

SYLACAUGA — Funeral service for Horace Monroe Brooks Jr., 72, will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Curtis and Son Funeral Home North chapel with the Rev. Clarence Meherg officiating. Burial will be in Greenhill Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Brooks died Aug. 26 at Russell Medical Center in Alexander City. He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace Monroe Brooks Sr. and Eunice Brooks. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and retired after 37 years of service with Kimberly Clark as a papermaker.

He is survived by daughters, Georgianna Wigginton of Pike Road and Melanie Johnston of Birmingham; son, John D. Brooks of Childersburg; and grandchildren, Emily Brooks, Jonathan Thomas, James P. Thomas, Brandy Weisman and Deah Wigginton.

Pallbearers will be D.J. Pody, Don Gregg, Steve Parr, Ed Garrett, Jonathan Thomas and James P. Thomas.

Rex Harris and Bill Meherg will be honorary pallbearers.

The family will accept flowers or donations may be made to Rainwater Memorial Library of Childersburg, 124 9th Ave. S.W., Childersburg, Ala., 35044 or Faith Hospice, 516 North Broadway, Sylacauga, Ala., 35150.

Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel will direct the service.

OLERIA LAYTON INGRAM

RAGLAND — Funeral service for Oleria Layton Ingram, 81, will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Usrey-Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Pell City with the Rev. Doug Ford and the Rev. Roger Kendrick officiating. Burial will be in Ragland Methodist Cemetery.

Mrs. Ingram died Aug. 28. She was a lifelong resident of St. Clair County and was a member of the Ragland Methodist Church. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 150, the Amaranyth Chapter and the White Shrine of Birmingham.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Ingram of Ragland; daughters, Jane Miller of Pensacola, Fla., Linda Kendrick of Ragland and Joyce Enfinger of Pensacola, Fla.; son, Bobby Ingram of Ragland; brother, J.J. Layton of Pell City; sister, Oberia Ashley of Ragland; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Robert Swafford, Kenneth Kendrick, Scott Munkus, Jason Munkus, Wayne Enfinger and Bobby Ingram.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Usrey-Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Pell City will direct the service.

EDWARD THURSTON LOVETT

SYLACAUGA — Funeral service for Edward Thurston Lovett, 68, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home chapel in Sylacauga with Pastor Rev. Bill Percy officiating.

Mr. Lovett died Aug. 28 at Coosa Valley Baptist Medical Center in Sylacauga.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine Meeks Lovett of Sylacauga; and nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Friday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

JEROME MARTIN

ANNISTON — Funeral service for Jerome (Love) Martin, 76, will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Miracle Revival Temple in Anniston with Walter Carr officiating. Burial will be in Eden Hills Cemetery.

Mr. Martin died Aug. 23 at Riverview Medical Center in Gadsden. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cerenette Lee Martin; and his parents, Willis and Alberta Martin. He was a lifelong resident of Anniston and was a member of Miracle Revival Temple.

He is survived by sons, Gary D. Montgomery and James D. Montgomery of Anniston; stepson, Fridrick Lee of Anniston; daughters, Wanda D. Martin of New York, N.Y., and Gia L. Martin of Anniston; stepdaughter, Shyrll Lee of Atlanta, Ga.; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Family members and friends of the family will serve as pallbearers.

The body may be viewed at the church for one hour before the service.

Ervin Funeral Chapel will direct the service.

MOLLY MAE SCHULTE

MUNFORD — Molly Mae Schulte, 68, died Aug. 28 at Citizens BMC.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Usrey Funeral Home.

CEPHUS AVERY WHITE

HUNTSVILLE — Funeral service for Cephus Avery White, 91, will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Usrey Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Marcus Long officiating. Burial will be in Eastaboga Cemetery.

Mr. White died Aug. 28 at Cogburn Nursing Home. He was a native of Eastaboga and lived there most of his life. He was a resident of Huntsville, Guntersville and Millbrook in recent years. He was a member of Highlands Baptist Church in Huntsville and was retired from Redstone Arsenal of Huntsville.

He is survived by son, Franklin White of Decatur; grandchildren, Nathan White, Wendy Hulgan, Paige Childers and Blaine Gilley; four great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy Walters of Eastaboga; and brother, James White of Eastaboga.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Blaine Gilley, Donald White, Tommy White, Jimmy Hugh White, Ronald White, Michael Bline, Steve White and Charles Price.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Asbury United Methodist Church Organ Fund, Hughes Road, Madison, Ala., 35758.
