Services for William Sherman Motley, 81, of Maplesville were September 28, 1993, at 2 p.m. at Maplesville Baptist Church with the Rev. Ron Gatlin officiating. Burial was in the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Maplesville with Martin Funeral Home directing. Mr. Motley was born January 7, 1912, in Alabama. He worked as a power house operator. He died September 26, 1993, at 2 p.m. at Selma Medical Center in Selma. He is survived by his wife, Elaine M. Motley of Maplesville; his daughter, Mable Dean of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; his son, William Harold Motley of Birmingham; his brother, Henry Lee Motley of Austin, Texas, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mount, Edd Anderson
January 22, 1918 - August 29, 2003
Services for Edd A. Mount, 85 of Maplesville, are today at 2 p.m. at Maplesville Baptist Church. The Reverends Odean Johnson, Johnny Mount and Ty Parten will officiate. Burial will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Maplesville. Mount died Friday, Aug. 29 at Vaughn Regional Hospital in Selma. He was an inspector. Mount is survived by his wife, Louise Mount of Maplesville, his step-son Bobby Chambers of Maplesville and his three step-daughters - Ruby Jean McGee of Pensacola, Fla., Linda Faye Hayes of Pensacola, Fla., and Brenda Jones of Maplesville. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. .

Mueller, Myra Nell
August 12, 1925 - September 11, 2001
Funeral services for Myra Nell Mueller were held on Sept 14, 2001 at the Turner Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Jim Reece officiating. Interment followed in the Luverne Emmaus Cemetery, with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mueller died on Sept. 11, 2001. She was formerly of Clanton, the daughter of the late John M. and Nizzie Cox. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles B. Mueller. Survivors include three sisters, Ruth Williams of Clanton, Delene Smith of Bradenton, Fla., and Maureen Armstrong of Union Springs, Ala.; John F. and Marsha Smith of Bradenton, Fla.; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Lee Haugh of Luverne.

Harrison, Mary Lucille (Muir)
April 12, 1920 - January 16, 2000
Funeral services for Mary Lucille Maske Harrison, Plantersville, will be held at Faith Baptist Church on Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Terry Smith and Rev. Neal Caver officiating. Burial will follow at Alpine Baptist cemetery in Plantersville, with Martin Funeral Home officiating. Harrison was born in Alabama. She was a production line worker. She died on Jan. 16, 2000, at Vaughan Regional Medical Center in Selma. Suriviors include her husband, Jesse Harrison, Plantersville; four daughters, Marie Maske Creel and Faye Maske Lockhart, both of Selma, Carol Maske Friday, Burnsville, and Sherry Maske Wingard, Spanish Fort; one step-daughter, Debra Harrison Alexander, Opelika; three sons, Harold Maske and Raymond Maske, both of Selma, and Mike Maske, Pell City; one brother, Ray Muir, Ashville; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Charles Herman Maske, and one grandson.

Atchison, Goldie Ernestine (Mull)

Funeral services for Goldie Ernestine Mull Atchison, 75, of Maplesville, will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 1997 at the Ebenezer Baptist Church at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Aubry Wallace officiating. Burial will be at the Ebenezer Baptist cemetery in Stanton with the Martin Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Atchison was born in Alabama on March 15, 1922 to the late Ike Mull and Mollie Klinner Mull. She died at the Four Rivers Medical Center in Selma on July 14, 1997. She was preceded in death by a daughter and son, Mary Ann Donahoo and Paul J. Atchison. She is survived by her husband, Wheeler Atchison, Maplesville; seven sons and four daughters, Carl E. Haigler, Istachatta, FL; Jerry Haigler, Selmer; Eugene Atchison, Lawley; Morris J. Atchison, Randolph; Willard J. Atchison, Stanton; Thomas J. Atchison, Vance J. Atchison, Goldie M. Riffe and Jessie M. Seales, all of Maplesville; Ms. Beulah, Selma; Molly M. Cox, Randolph; a sister Jessie Mull, Maplesville; 25 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Mims, Aileen (Mullins)
February 10, 1918 - July 12, 1997
Funeral services for Aileen Mullins Mims, 79, of Verbena, were held on Tuesday, July 15, 1997 at the Shiloh Baptist Church at 11 a.m. with the Reverends Wayne Smith and Wayne Caton officiating. Burial was at the Shiloh Baptist cemetery in Clanton with the Martin Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Mims was born in Chilton County on February 10, 1918 to the late Eugene Mullins and Eva Maddox Mullins. She died at the Hatley Health Care on July 12, 1997. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Mims. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Gloria M. and Garry W. Sellers, Verbena; a granddaughter, Emily Nicole Sellers, Verbena; two brothers and five sisters, Neal Mullins, Clanton; Earskin Mullins, Millbrook; Myrtice Baker, Annie Patterson, Bobbye DeVaughn, Hazel Littlejohn and Euna Green, all of Clanton.

Mrs. J. F. Bone, age 50, Wife of J. F. Bone, died at her home in the New Cedron Community. Burial was at Mullins-Jumbo Cemetery. She was the Daughter of Mr. Hugh F. Mullins who died 10 or 12 years ago. She was born 3-9-1885 in Jumbo Community. She is survived by her Husband, her Mother, Mrs. Ella Mullins, one Brother, James Arfeltz Mullins of Cullman, 4 Sisters, Miss Louise and Miss Sue Mullins of Clanton, Mrs. Mary spear, of Florida, and Mrs. J. J. DuBose of Clanton Route 5.

Mullins, Cornelius 'Neal'
November 23, 1916 - November 29, 2001
Funeral services for Cornelius "Neal" Mullins, 85, Clanton, will be held at Shiloh Baptist Church on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2001, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Ralph Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Baptist cemetery in Clanton, with Martin Funeral Home directing. Mullins was born on Nov. 23, 1916, in Chilton County, the son of the late Eugene Mullins and the late Evie Maddox Mullins. He was a farmer. He died on Nov. 29, 2001, at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery. Survivors include his wife, Audrey Mullins, Clanton; one son, Daniel (Deborah) Mullins, Clanton; two daughters, Patsy Jones and Sheila (Hubbard) Billingsley, both of Clanton; one granddaughter, Amanda Jones, Clanton; one brother, Bill Mullins, Millbrook; five sisters, Hazel Littlejohn, Euna Peal Green, Annie Patterson, Bobbye DeVaughn, and Myrtice Baker, All of Clanton. He was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Donald P. Jones.

Mullins, Dover
October 30, 1875 - September 15, 1934
Mrs. Dover Mullins, age 57, Wife of George W. Mullins of Clanton, Route 3, died last Sat at her home. Burial was at Mt. Pisgah. She is survived by her Husband and several children.
Mrs. G.W. Mullins died Sept. 15, survived by her Husband, her Mother Mrs. Sie Culp, 1 Sister and 2 Brothers. She was the oldest Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sie Culp, and she was a member of Mount Pisgah Methodist Church for 40 years. Burial was at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Her Sister is Mrs. I.A. Yeargan.

Mullins, Edwin LeGrande
March 21, 1912 - March 05, 2004
A memorial service for Edwin LeGrande Mullins, 91 of Clanton, is today at First Baptist Church of Clanton at 3 p.m. Rev. Jay Hurd will officiate the service. Mullins died Friday, March 5 at his residence. He was a store owner. He is survived by a daughter, Nelda M. Glaser of Birmingham; a son, Dr. Edwin R. Mullins of Prattville; a son, Dr. Jim Mullins of Panama City, Fla.; a son, Robert J. Mullins of Linden, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was the son of John Renfroe and Lena Blanche Foshee Mullins.

Jones, Eliza P. (Mullins)

Mrs. Eliza P. Jones died unexpectedly on Sat. Night, Wife of W.W. Jones, she was born at Columbiana in 1854, married in 1870, there were 12 children. She was daughter of James A. and Martha Mullins. Her Father was the Organizer of Mount Zion and of Clanton First Baptist Churches. Burial was at old Mullins-Jumbo Cemetery.

Mr. H. N. Mullins known as Nick died Monday. Burial was in the Clanton Cemetery, he was the Son of Oliver Mullins of Jumbo, he leaves a Wife and 2 Sons, Clifton and Leon, one daughter Sarah Mullins, Brothers are C. Reese and Reed Mullins.

Jean Abbott Mullins, age 15 years, 5 months, 15 days, died Sat. Burial was at Clanton City Cemetery. She is survived by her Foster Parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Renfroe Mullins, 2 Sisters, Miss Floreance Sawyer, Nurse of West End Baptist Hospital in Birmingham, and Mrs. J.R. Harless of Mobile. Her Parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Sawyer died years ago. Mrs. Sawyer was the former Miss Ethel Abbott, Mr. and Mrs. Mullins adopted Jean when she was 4 weeks old. She has one Uncle, Mr. Clarence Abbott, who is Tax Collector of Shelby County.

Funeral services for James John Erby Mullins, 80, Clanton, will be held at Martin Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2002, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Charles Brooks officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Baptist cemetery in Clanton, with Martin Funeral Home directing. Mullins was born on April 22, 1922, in Chilton County, the son of the late John Daniel Mullins and the late Bertie Mullins. He was a truck driver. He served in the U.S. Army from Oct. 16, 1942, to Oct. 22, 1945. He died on Sept. 5, 2002, at his residence. Survivors include two daughters, Wanda Scott, Thorsby, Jenita Smith, Clanton; two sons-in-law, Robert Scott, Thorsby, Larry Smith, Clanton; one son, Ray Mullins, Clanton; one daughter-in-law, Grace Mullins, Clanton; two brothers, Herman Mullins, Birmingham, Carrell Mullins, Calera; one sister, Verlon Deavers, Clanton; three granddaughters, Misti Watley, Erica Smith, Christi Mullins; one grandson, Dale Scott; three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Mullins, and one son, David Mullins.

Hines, Mavis Zane (Mullins)
June 13, 1931 - July 08, 1999
Arrangements for Mavis Zane Mullins Hines, 68, Verbena, were handled this week by Martin Funeral Home. Hines was born on June 13, 1931, the daughter of the late James? D. and Bertie Powell Mullins. She was a bookkeeper and also in accounting. She died on July 8, 1999, at her residence. Survivors include her husband, James D. Hines, Verbena; two daughters, Rhonda D. DeVaughn, Alabaster, and Donna R. Kotlik, Fultondale; four brothers, Erby Mullins and Verlon Deavers, both of Clanton, Herman Mullins, Bucksville, and Carrell Mullins, Calera; two grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Retherford, Nancy Ann (Mullins)
February 25, 1848 - January 13, 1924
Mrs. Nancy Ann Retherford died in Clanton Hospital, age 76, she was the second Wife of Mr. I.O. Retherford. They married 40 years ago. Mr. James E. Mullins is the only living whole brother. She was a Daughter of Rev. James A. Mullins, burial was at Mountain Springs Cemetery.

Mullins, Tipton Oliver
June 14, 1866 - April 23, 1914
Mr. Tipton Mullins died last Thur. after long lingering illness. He was an attorney, Funeral Clanton First Baptist Church and burial was Clanton City Cemetery.

Dennis, Herbert Hoover
October 28, 1928 - May 27, 2004
Graveside services for Herbert Dennis, 75, of Clanton, will be held May 29 at 11 a.m. at Martin Memorial cemetery with Reverend Jim Shannon officiating. Visitation will be held today, May 28 from 4-6 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home. Mr. Dennis, a serviceman and a farmer, died May 27. Survivors include his wife, Annelle Roe Dennis of Clanton; sons, David and Joe Dennis; daughter, Diane Dennis of Spartanburg, S.C.; grandchildren, Adalyne and Austin Dennis; brother, James Dennis of Clanton. The family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.

Dennis, James Marion, M.D.
September 1879 - November 1926
Dr. J. Marion Dennis' body arrived from Lake Charles, LA. last Friday and was buried at the Eiland Cemetery. Rev. Kelley conducted the funeral. He was killed early last week in an auto accident near his home in Cotton Valley, LA. He was a brother to Jasper N. Dennis of Clanton. His Wife and one Son came from their home in Los Angeles, Calif. to attend the funeral. Another Son and daughter were unable to come. Age 56. He practiced Medicine since 1903. (Born Sept. 1879 form 1880 Census.).

William I. Mullins, age 77, died at his Home in Clanton March 3, burial was in the Clanton City Cemetery. Funeral was at Clanton Baptist Church. He is survived by his Wife, Mrs. Sarah Alice Wells Mullins, 3 Sons, J. Renfroe Mullins, William K. Mullins, of Clanton and Frank Mullins of Mobile, 3 Daughters, Mrs. J. Watts Moore of Clanton, Mrs. Amzi Gowan of Brewton, Mrs. John DeRamus of Clanton. For more than 40 years he was a leading Business Man of Chilton Co. His Father was Rev. James A. Mullins, Founder and Organizer of Clanton Baptist Church.
