Mr. Marvin Wilson, who lived 2-1/2 miles South of Clanton, died of Typhoid, Son of Enoch and Docia Wilson of Maple Springs, burial was at Clanton cemetery Friday Afternoon.

Wilson, Marvin H.
December 29, 1888 - May 17, 1914
Dr. Marvin Wilson was killed instantly, found by the railroad near Thorsby last Sunday, he was evidently killed and thrown from a fast moving passenger train, age about 25, unmarried. He was a Son of the Late W. M. and Allie Wilson, very prominent citizens of Clanton who operated Clanton's first hardware store. The only surviving member of the Family is Will S. or Willie about 20 who is in College. Funeral conducted from the home of Ed Smitherman in Clanton with burial Clanton City Cemetery.

Mrs. Mary Wilson Dennis, age 76, of Maplesville, died Wed., burial at Eiland cemetery [Note: actually at Old Bethel Cemetery], survived by 5 Brothers, P. D., L. N., Enoch, Andrew, and Wash Wilson, and 3 Children, Levi and Dock Dennis of Maplesville, and Horace Dennis of Clanton.

Wilson, Monroe Chilton
March 27, 1919 - November 10, 1997
Services for Monroe C. Wilson, 78, of Maplesville were Wednesday, November 12, at Martin Funeral Home Chapel at 3 p.m. Interment was in Mt. Nebo cemetery with Martin Funeral Home directing. Mr. Wilson died at Health South Medical Center in Birmingham November 10. Survivors include his widow, Madelyn B. Wilson of Maplesville; Mrs. Eunice Willis Wilson, mother of his children of Maplesville; four sons, Williard C. Wilson, Joseph R. Wilson and Ricky C. Wilson, all of Clanton; Lewis M. Wilson of Maplesville; three daughters; Alice Faye Snodgrass of Maplesville, Sandra W. Collins of Calera, and Sherry W. Cox of Clanton; two brothers; Sam Wilson and Edell Wilson of Clanton; three sisters; Kreanie Bell Mims, Mande Bell Williams and Lucille Martin of Clanton; fifteen grandchildren; twenty Great-Grandchildren; and three Great-Great-Grandchildren.

Wilson, Newton G.
1872 - September 1906
Dated 9-13-1906, Mr. Newt Wilson was crushed by two cars of a train 35 miles west of Birmingham. He worked for the railroad. He was buried in Clanton cemetery, left a Wife and 2 small children. He was Son of John G. and Drucilla Eiland Wilson.

Funeral services for Odis Delene Littleton, 77, of Jemison were Feb. 24, 1998, at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dearl Lett and Rev. Toby Morgan officiating. Burial was in Midway Memorial Gardens in Jemison with Martin Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Littleton was born Aug. 12, 1920, in Alabama to the late John T. and Mary Melissa Jane Thrash Wilson. She was a homemaker. She died Feb. 19, 1998, at Gardendale Nursing Home. She is survived by three sons, Charles Elwyn Littleton of Irondale, and Joe Wayne Littleton and Michael Eugene Littleton, both of Jemison; three sisters: Glennie Glenn of Bessemer, Letha Northcutt of Jemison and Lois Martin of Birmingham; a brother, Curtis Wilson of Calera; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Wilson, Roberta Ann Johnson Mullins
April 15, 1870 - December 20, 1936
Mrs. P. D. Wilson, Mrs. Roberta Johnson Mullins Wilson, died Sunday at age 67. She was the daughter of Dr. Joseph S. Johnson of the Mulberry Community. She first married Mr. Tipton Mullins and to them 3 Children were born, Joe Mullins, Sophia Mullins Nelson, and Dr. Tipton Mullins Jolifee of New York City. Her Second Husband was Mr. P. D. Wilson. She buried in Clanton City Cemetery. Survived by her Husband, Mr. P. D. Wilson, 2 daughter Dr. Tipton Mullins and Mrs. Jollifee, one Son Joe Mullins.

Thomas W. Wilson, age 76, died Wednesday. Burial was at Maple Springs Cemetery. He was born 1 1/2 miles from the house where he died . He was Son of James W. M. Wilson and Penna Moore Wilson. He is survived by 4 Brothers, P. D., Enoch, G. W., and A. J. Wilson, all of Clanton and by several Children and Grandchildren.

Wood, Jerome Edwin

Jerome Edwin Wood Graveside services for Jerome Edwin Wood, 79, of Birmingham, are today at Martin Memorial cemetery at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jay Hurd officiating. Friends will be received before the service after 10 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel. Wood died November 18 at Estes Nursing Facility. Survivors include two brothers, Wallace Roy Wood of Clanton and Denny Wood of Birmingham; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial to Chilton-Shelby Mental Health.

Services for William Joseph "Joe" Woodfin, 66, of Clanton were Sunday, March 17, 1996 at 2 p.m. at the Bethel Primitive Baptist Church with Elder C. E. Tucker and Elder Mike Smith officiating. Burial was in the Bethel Primitive Baptist cemetery in Clanton with Martin Funeral Home directing. Mr. Woodfin was born Thursday, January 23, 1930 in Alabama to the late Curtis and Evie Terrell Woodfin. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force. He was retied from Gulf Oil Company after 21 years of service. He died Friday, March 15, 1996, at Vaughan Chilton Medical Center in Clanton. He is survived by his wife, Jean Gray Woodfin of Clanton; his son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Susan Woodfin of Verbena; his daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Keilan Gore of Clanton; his sister Rolene Anderson of Montgomery; his brother, Shelton Woodfin of Prattville; his grandson, Blake Woodfin of Verbena; and two granddaughters: Roslyn Gore and Wendy Gore, both of Clanton.

Rev. F.M. Woods died suddenly at his home in Maplesville, Frances Marion Woods, a former Pastor of Clanton First Baptist Church was born in Darlington, S.C. 3-3-1846, married Miss Sophia Galloway of Montevallo 12-21-1874, burial Montevallo City cemeteyr, Montevallo, Ala.

Tom Woods died suddenly in Columbia, South Carolina Mon. Burial was at Montevallo. He was the Son of Rev. F.M. Woods, Former Pastor of Clanton First Baptist Church. Tom was 50 years old. He is survived by his Wife, 1 Son, 2 Daughters, 4 Sisters, Miss Mary Woods of Montevallo, Mrs. Alice Perry and Mrs. Jim Wood of West Blocton, and a Mrs. Johnson of Dogwood.

Services for Allen Walter Wright, 57, of Clanton were September 20, 1994, at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Methodist/Protestant Church with the Rev. Donald Talley, the Rev. David Hester and the Rev. Kenneth Graham officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant Grove Methodist cemetery in Clanton with Martin Funeral Home directing. Mr. Wright was born April 25, 1937, in Alabama to Walter Allen and Evie Bearden Wright. He worked as a mechanic. He died September 18, 1994, at Vaughan Chilton Medical Center in Clanton. He is survived by his wife, Myra Nell Wright of Clanton; two daughters: Rita Gail Jones and Kimberly Lynn Wright, both of Clanton; his brother Norman Wright of Plantersville; two sisters: Lillie B. Nichols of Plantersville and Sara Smitherman of Maplesville; and two granddaughters: Christy Lynn Jones.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Wright of Clanton; son, Brent Wright of Selma; daughters, Kayla Carroll of Clanton and Donna Rooks of Chelsea; brothers, Aubrey Wright of Montgomery and Alton and Jimmy Wright of Clanton; sisters, Lera Price of Clanton, Delene Coleman of Pensacola, Ruth Williams of Opelika, Mildred Coker of Tallassee, Loraine Yeargan of Clanton and Dorothy Bell of Prattville; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Wright, Clanton; four daughters, Lera Kelley, Clyde, N.C., Sue Gillantine, Jean Wright, Fay Edwards, all of Clanton; one brother, Clifton Cleckler, Clanton; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

Born on June 24, 1904 to Joe Baker, she died April 27, 2003 at Greenbriar Health Care in Birmingham. Survivors include her daughter Peggy Haynes of Cook Springs; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph A. Marcus.

Interment followed at Shiloh Baptist Cemetery, with Martin Funeral Home directing. She was born in Chilton County to the late Nolan and Ethey Wyatt Wright on Jan. 18, 1931. She died at her home in Calera on February 11. She is survived by two sons, Ricky Gulledge of Prattville and Bruce Higgins of Calera, one daughter, Wanda Kay Smith, of Dogwood, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Harrison, all of Maplesville. Two sisters Mrs. Lillie Nichols of Plantersville, and Mrs. Sarah Smitherman of Maplesville. Four Brothers Mr. A. W. Wright of Clanton, Mr. Norman Wright of Plantersville, Mr. Thomas Wright also of Plantersville, and Mr. O. V. Wright of Stanton, 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Billy Wyatt, Clanton; his mother Juanita Wyatt, Clanton; his sister, Amber Wyatt, Clanton; three grandparents Murel and Bobbie Gothard, Jemison, and Mildred Wyatt, Clanton; three great-grandparents, Kathleen Graham, Mobile, Andrew Wyatt, Prattville, and Mary Cleckler, Clanton. He was preceded in death by a grandfather, Billy Joe Wyatt, and a great-grandparent.

James Madison Wyatt, age 64, died Sunday. Burial was at Providence Beat 16. He was found dead of heart attack in his boat at Crumpton Camp. His body was discovered by Reuben Popwell and he had been dead for a short time. He is survived by 3 Sons, William of Montevallo, and T. E. of Walnut Creek, and T. G. of Friendship, 2 Sisters, Mrs. John Maddox of Clanton and Mrs. W.W. Robinson of Providence. He was born 1-19-1872, Son of G. F. M. and Jane Popwell Wyatt. His Father died 35 years ago, his Mother died 7 years ago, his Wife Pharriba Wyatt died in 1923.
