Funeral services for Kevin Dale Williams, 21, Clanton, will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2000 at Liberty Hill Baptist Church at 2 p.m. with Rev. Roland Davis and Rev. Travis Bussey officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Hill Cemetery, with Martin Funeral Home officiating. Williams was born on Sept 26, 1978, in Alabama, the son of Gail Williams and the late Billy Joe Williams. He was a truck driver. He died at Russell Hospital in Alexander City on July 3, 2000. Survivors include his wife, Jennifer Williams, Clanton; one unborn child; his mother, Gail Williams, Clanton; three sisters, Brenda Baker, Karen Popwell, and Donna Maddox, all of Clanton; one grandfather, Rev. H. O. Headley, Clanton; one grandmother, Annie Pearl Williams, Clanton; nine nieces and nephews; and a number of in-laws.
Local Man, 21, killed in Monday logging accident by Paul Keane ALEXANDER CITY-Funeral services for Kevin Dale Williams, 21, will be held today at 2 p.m. at Liberty Hill Baptist Church. Williams, a Clanton resident was killed in a logging truck accident Monday morning in Coosa County. According to Tallapoosa County Coroner Alan Wingfield, Williams died while in surgery at Russell Medical Center in Alexander City. He was pronounced dead Monday afternoon. Wingfield-who said he was not called to the scene of the accident but met family members and officials at the hospital-said the accident happened at around 11 a.m. Monday. He added that details of the accident were relayed to him by family members, and that he had not interviewed eyewitnesses at the scene. "Apparently, he had parked his truck and it was being loaded at the time of the accident., " Wingfield said. "It was on a slight incline, not a steep one at all. "The truck started rolling back, and apparently he jumped up on the running boards in an attempt to stop it, " he continued. " That's when he was hit in the back by a smaller truck. "Wingfield said Williams was transported to Russell Medical Center in a smaller truck from the site of the accident, and that he died from internal injuries suffered in the wreck. Williams was born on Sept 26, 1978, the son of Gail Williams and the late Billy Joe Williams. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Williams of Clanton, and their unborn child. Other survivors include his mother, three sisters, Brenda Baker, Karen Popwell and Donna Maddox, all of Clanton; a grandfather, Rev. H. O. Headley; a grandmother, Annie Pearl Williams; four brothers-in-law, Eugene Popwell, MIke Baker, Jeff Maddox and Roy Kryscuk, all of Clanton; a sister-in-law, Beth Kryscuk; a father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ralph and Regena Courtney. After today's funeral service, interment will follow at Liberty Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Lelia Ann (Brown) Williams, 80, died Sunday at the home of Mrs. Wallace Wood. She is survived by 2 Brothers, Thomas Brown of Tulsa, Okla., and J. Canty Brown of Weogufka, and these Children: Dr. J. Toy Williams, Baptist Missionary to Shanghai, China, Dr. J. O. Williams, Business Manager Baptist Sunday School Board, Nashville, Tenn., T. L. Williams, Manager Alabama Power Company, T. E. Williams, President Limestone County Bank, Athens, Ala., J. H. Williams, Auditing Dept. for State of Ala., Montgomery, Ala., Dr. Horace Greely Williams, Pastor Calvary Baptist Church, Tuscaloosa, Ala. Mrs. Wallace Wood, Clanton, Mrs. J. L. Parrish, Pickwick, Tenn., J.D. Williams, Proctor and Gamble Co., Tuscaloosa, Ala., 27 Grandchildren, and 12 Great Grand Children. She was the Widow of the Late Mr. Leb Williams who grew up in the Mulberry area and died years ago. Funeral was by Rev. J.D. Hopper, assisted by Rev. Oscar A. Davis, Burial was at Samaria Cemetery.

Graveside services for Leon Winfred Williams, 70 and a resident of Montgomery, will be held on Thursday, Aug. 16, 2001 at Mt. Nebo Methodist Cemetery, with Rev. Howard Williams officiating. Visitation will be held today, Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2001, from 6-8 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel. Born on May 6, 1931, he was the son of the late Joseph Eugene Williams, Sr. and the late Ollie Williams. An intelligence analyst, he died on Aug. 13, 2001 at Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery. He is survived by his wife, Rose Williams, of Montgomery, a daughter and son-in-law, Patt and Ed Lother, Jr. of Hoover; a daughter, Rhonda Neel of Cartersville, Ga.; a son and daughter-in-law, Leon W. Williams, Jr. and Darene Williams of Montgomery; a son, Joseph Williams of Montgomery; a grandson and his wife, Joshua and Laurie Jean Williams of Montgomery; three granddaughters, Jessica Williams and Heather Williams, both of Montgomery, and Tess Neel of Cartersville, GA.; a great-granddaughter, Emily Williams of Montgomery; a sister, Imogene Holley of Montgomery; four brothers, Rev. Howard Williams and his wife, Jett Williams, of Leeds; Rev. Lomar Williams of Birmingham; Delmar Williams and his wife, Betty, of Ocaloosa, Fla., and Melvis Williams of Boaz; two sisters-in-law, Betty Mims and Fannie Rasberry and her husband, Hansel, both of Montgomery; a brother-in-law, Billy Mims and his wife, Theda, of Montgomery; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Luella Falkner, 88, of Marbury, will be held at 10 a.m. tomorrow at Floyd Baptist Church in Verbena with the Rev. Jack Drinkwater officiating. Burial will follow at the Evergreen cemetery in Verbena, with Martin Funeral Home directing. Faulkner was born on May 5, 1911 in Autauga County to the late Louis B. and Elizabeth Todd Williams. She died at Resurrection Catholic Nursing Home in Marbury on Feb. 9. She is survived by four daughters, Margie Leech of Labanan, Tenn., Everlee Younts of Sidney, Iowa, and Amy Merideth and Mildred Deramus, both of Corpus Christi, Tex.; two sons, William E. Taylor of Clanton and Raymond Taylor of Elmore; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Burial was in Pilgrim Rest Baptist cemetery in Maplesville with Martin Funeral Home Directing. Mrs. Chandler was born Sept. 6, 1916, in Alabama to the late George B. and Sula Abbott Williams, She was a homemaker. She died Jan. 19, 1999, at Woodley Manor Nursing Home in Montgomery. She is survived by a daughter and Son-in-law, Peggy and Jerry Harrison of Maplesville; a brother, O. E. Williams, Sr. of Autaugaville; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Newton Chandler.

Funeral services for Marshall Layfette Williams, 70, of Clanton, were Oct. 22, 1998, at Martin Chapel with Rev. Tony Smitherman officiating. Burial was in Martin Memorial cemetery in Clanton with Martin Funeral Home directing. Mr. Williams was born Aug. 16, 1928, in Chilton County to the late O. B. D. and Emma Pierce Williams. He worked as an operator and served in the U. S. Air Force from 1946-1949. He died Oct 20, 1998, at his residence in Clanton. He is survived by his wife, Aileen M. Williams of Clanton; two sons: Marshall Williams, Jr. of Johnson City, Tenn., and Michael Williams of Clanton; a daughter, Donna Martin of Alabaster; a brother Pete Williams of Jemison; four sisters: Edna Littleton, Dean Cleckler, Virginia Burnette and Earnestean W. Logan, all of Clanton; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Burnette died Saturday, December 4.Survivors include her son, Mike Burnette of Thorsby; daughter, Terri Connell of Clanton; two brothers, Lamar Williams of Clanton and Cecil Williams of Clanton; two sisters, Myrtle Bean and Jeanette Oaks, both of Clanton; two grandsons, Jared Burnette of Thorsby and Patrick Connell of Clanton; and granddaughter, Jenny Burnette of Thorsby.

Blalock and the late Myrtis Lee Blalock. She was a homemaker. She died on Sept. 11, 2002, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster. Survivors include her husband, Harry L. Williams, Clanton; one daughter, Barbara Nichols, Oxford; one son-in-law, Sid Nichols, Oxford; three sons, Harry L. Williams, Jr., Arab, Len Williams, and Andy Williams both of Clanton; two daughters-in-law, Annette Williams, Arab, Mary Williams, Clanton; one sister, Betty Joe Billingsley, Chapin, S.C.; two brothers, Charles W. Knowles, N.C., Billy Knowles, Clanton; five grandchildren.

He is survived by three sons, Richard Williams of Minneapolis, Minn., Davis Williams of Clanton and Jeff Williams of Clanton; three brothers, Joe Williams of Moulton, Ala., Ray Williams of Montgomery and Marc Williams of Millbrook; two sisters, Christine Childress of Clanton and Mary Melton of Little Rock, Ark; and three grandchildren.

Hood of Grandview, Mo.; a nephew, John Goff of Prattville; and a special friend, Ruby L. Latham of Maplesville.

Williams, William Thomas

Funeral services for Thomas Williams were held on May 3, 2001, at Kaul Funeral Home in Roseville, Mich. and VFW ritual services were held on May 2, 2001. Burial followed in the Clinton Grove cemetery in Clinton TWP, Mich. Williams was born in Billingsley on Dec. 24, 1922, to Fonzie and Florence Williams. He was retired from Uniroyal-Goodwich Tire Co. and was a life member of VFW Post 2358. He had also served in the U. S. Navy. He died on April 30, 2001. Survivors include one son, Russell; one daughter, Deborah Dennert; two sisters, Thelma Wright and Johnnie Sue Hyatt; five nieces and nephews; 12 great nieces and nephews; one great-great niece; and one great-great nephew. Memorial contributions may be made to the Karmation Cancer Institute Warren/East Region, 15111 13 Mile Rd., Warren, Mich. 48093-9922.

She was born Tuesday, February 21, 1905 in Chilton County, daughter of the late Bob Cofer and the late Nancy Rogers Cofer. Survivors include three daughters, Jennavee Mims of Foley, Bettie Melgosa of Jemison and Martha J. Childress of Jemison; 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Lloyd Winston Davenport. Services will be held Thursday, March 24 at 11 a.m. at Jemison First Baptist Church with Rev. Chuck Bass and Rev. Donald Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Midway Memorial Gardens.
