HENAGAR, Ala. - Veda Ruth Pierce of Jackson, Mo., died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1999. She was 81.

Arrangements will be announced by Kerby Funeral Home, Henagar.

Alice Stephens
STEVENSON, Ala, - Alice C. Stephens died Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999, in an area hospital. She was 86.

She was the widow of Charlie Stephens.

Survivors include two daughters, Hady Sartin, Stevenson, and Nona Patterson, Kellyton, Ala.; four sons, J.C. Stevens, Flint, Mich., Carl Stevens, Bryant, Ala., Glen Stevens, South Pittsburg, and Lynn Stevens, Stevenson; four sisters, Jennie Pittman, Nashville, Mildred Ingram, Stevenson, Leo Matthews, Nashville, and Hazel Blanton, Spring City, Tenn.; 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be today at 11 a.m. CST at Rudder Funeral Home with Thomas Shoemaker and Roger Comstock officiating.

Burial will be in Stevenson City Cemetery.

Loy Bowman
COLLINSVILLE, Ala. - Loy Lamar Bowman died Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999, in an area hospital. He was 42.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Bowman, Collinsville; one daughter, Janice Dean Bowman, Gadsden, Ala.; stepsons, Larry Camp and Mathew Smith, Boaz, Ala., Robbie and Jerry Smith, Crossville, Ala.; mother and stepfather, Betty Sue and Milford Daugherty, Geraldine, Ala.; one sister, Peggy Harrell, Section, Ala.; three brothers, Terry Bowman, Gadsden, Joe Bowman, Crossville, Ala., and Johnny Bowman, Boaz; six grandchildren.

Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Macedonia 2 Church with the Rev. Lewayne Levans and the Rev. Junior Croft officiating.

Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.

Arrangements are by W.T. Wilson Funeral Home, Rainsville.

Clarence Brown
HENAGAR, Ala. - Clarence Medford Brown died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999, in an area health care facility. He was 83.

Services will be today at noon at Kerby Funeral Home with elder Ralph Heard officiating.

Burial will be in Fuller cemetery in Ider.

Rena Liles
FORT PAYNE, Ala, - Rena Mae Likes died Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999, in an area hospital. She was 87.

She was a housewife and a member of Godfrey Avenue Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sisters, Nora Shortnacy, Fort Payne, and Violet Shortnacy, California; two brothers, Orbie and Leo Hunt, both of Fort Payne; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home with Ronald Berry and Stan Freeman officiating.

Burial will be in Walkers Chapel Cemetery.

Veda Pierce
HENAGAR, Ala. - Veda Ruth Pierce of Jackson, Mo., died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1999. She was 81.

Arrangements will be announced by Kerby Funeral Home, Henagar.

Richard Stephens
FLAT ROCK, Ala. - Richard Paul "Butch' Stephens died Monday, Feb. 8, 1999, in a hospital in Houston, Texas. He was 50.

Mr. Stephens was formerly of Wildwood, Ga., and owned and operated a semi-tractor.

He was a Baptist and was preceded in death by his father, William Stephens; a brother, Robert Stephens, and a sister, Patricia Gail Stephens.

Survivors include his mother, Doris Stephens, Wildwood, Ga.; one sister, Joan Stephens, Lookout Mountain, Ga.; and three brothers, Ronnie, Roy, and Larry Stephens, all of Wildwood.

Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home with the Rev. Terrell Stephens officiating.

Burial will be in Hooker Cemetery.

Frankie Tillman
IDER, Ala. - Frankie Leo Tillman of Jacksonville, N.C., and formerly of Ider died there Friday, Jan. 29, 1999. He was 54.

Mr. Tillman was a member of First Baptist Church of Jacksonville, a veteran of the U.S. Army, and the widower of Cathy Tillman.

Survivors include two daughters, Cathy and Krystal Tillman, both of Jacksonville; four brothers, Earl and Edward Tillman, both of Flat Rock, and Bill and Leonard, both of Ider; two sisters, Martha Hyde, Huntsville, Ala., and Ruby Thompson, Titusville, Fla.

Graveside services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Vernant Park Baptist Church cemetery in Magnolia Springs, Ala.

Arrangements were made by W.T. Wilson Funeral Home, Rainsville, Ala.

Ruth Wade
BRYANT, Ala. - Ruth Ann Wade died Monday, Feb. 1, 1999, in an area hospital. She was 94.

Survivors include seven sons, James A., Ray, and Dwight Wade, Bryant, Earl E. Wade, Fayetteville, Tenn., Glen Wade, Greer, S.C., Edward Wade, Chattanooga and Jerry Wade, LaFayette, Ga.; three daughters, Verna Ruth Wood, Cleburne, Texas, Frances Brown, Mitchellville, Tenn., and Joyce Cooper, Keen, Texas; one sister, Ruby Early, Morehouse, Mo.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. CST at Kerby Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Park in Bryant.

Visitation will be today from 10:30 a.m. until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Alford Mabry
FORT PAYNE, Ala. - Alford E. Mabry died Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999, in an Alabama hospital. He was 73.

Survivors include his half brother, William A. Tucker, Florida; nieces and nephews; and one stepgranddaughter.

Services were held Monday at W.T. Wilson Funeral Home with the Rev. Grindstaff officiating.

Della Flannigan
MENTONE, Ala. - Della Flannigan died Monday, Feb. 1, 1999, in an area hospital. She was 94.

She was a housewife and a member of Mentone Church of God of Prophecy.

Survivors include four sons, William Flannigan, Collinsville, Ala., and L.M., Charles, and James Flannigan, all of Mentone; two daughters, Eloise Lance, and Jean Pena, both of Mentone; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Burt Funeral Home, Valley Head Chapel with the Rev. Don Brock officiating.

Burial will be in Bankhead Cemetery.
