HAROLD VERNON CROWE

TALLADEGA — Funeral service for Harold Vernon Crowe, 69, will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Usrey Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Joe Jones and the Rev. Larry Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery in Talladega.

Mr. Crowe died Dec. 19 at his residence. A native and lifelong resident of Talladega, he was retired from the Air Force as a tech sergeant with 22 years of service. He was a veteran of the Korean War and Vietnam. He was a member of Winterboro Baptist Church and was board member of the Arc of Talladega County. He was owner of Crowe's Cabinet Shop. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lymon and Ida Mae Crowe; a sister, Deliah Smith; two brothers, L.H. Crowe and Melvin Crowe; and a grandson, Herbie Johnson.

He is survived by his wife, Carey Crowe of Talladega; one son, Wayne Crowe of Talladega; three daughters, Nancy Mrugalla of Champaign, Ill., Connie Brooks of Ohatchee and Young Ja Snow of Talladega; one brother, Andy Crowe of Alpine; three sisters, Arlene Collins of Winterboro, Carrie Phillips of Manchester, Ga., and Ann McFall of Tyler, Texas; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

military will serve as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Guy, Gary Taylor, Merrill Pressley, Roy Denton, Jimmy Roberts, James Lackey, George Hicks, Scotty Bishop and Mike Fisher.

The family will accept flowers or memorials may be made to the Arc of Talladega County.

Usrey Funeral Home will direct the service.

FANNIE MAE FUNDERBURG

SYLACAUGA — Funeral service for Fannie Mae Funderburg, 92, will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at t. Paul A.M.E. Church in Sylacauga with the Rev. Wendel Davenport officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Mrs. Funderburg died Dec. 18 at Citizens BMC. She was preceded in death by four sons, French Carpenter Sr., James Carpenter, Samuel Carpenter and Hosey Funderburg.

She is survived by one daughter, Mary F. Carpenter of Sylacauga; 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives.

Pallbearers will be Everette Carpenter, Michael Smith, Roafeek Holley, Charles Caesar, French Carpenter Jr., Patrick Holley, Tarvis Pope and Jacob Parker.

Friends of the family will serve as flowerbearers.

Community Funeral Home will direct the service.

NOBLE ASKEW JR.

SYLACAUGA — Funeral service for Noble Askew Jr., 83, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. John Baptist Church in Sylacauga with the Rev. Eddie L. King officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Church Cemetery.

Mr. Askew died Dec. 16.

Community Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

EULA MAE BASS

MONTGOMERY — Funeral service for Eula Mae Bass will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Ashland with the Rev. Michael Strong officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Baptist Memorial Gardens in Ashland.

Miss Bass died Dec. 13 at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Iona Bass.

She is survived by four nieces; 10 nephews and a host of great-nieces, nephews, great-great-nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Armour's Memorial Funeral Home in Alexander City will direct the service.

BLONDIE EDWARDS

SYLACAUGA — Funeral service for Blondie Edwards, 69, will be Friday at 3 p.m. at Curtis and Son Funeral Home North chapel with the Rev. Ed Ledlow officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Edwards died Dec. 19 at Coosa Valley BMC.

She is survived by her husband, Amos Edwards of Sylacauga; two daughters, Nancy Whisenant of Cocoa, Fla., and Christine Smith of Nashville, Tenn.; one brother, Otis Williams of Alexander City and one sister, Becky Roberson of Sylacauga.

Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel will direct the service.

ELNA SWEATT GOODWIN

TARRANT — Graveside service for Elna Sweatt Goodwin, 86, will be Saturday at 1 p.m. in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East with the Rev. James Long officiating.

Mrs. Goodwin died Dec. 19 at Talladega Health Care Center. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Elna Jo Pellos.

She is survived by two daughters, Doris Gartman of Trussville and Dean Kinney of Broken Arrow, Okla.; two sons, Hoyt Sweatt of Pinson and Loyt Sweatt of Nectar; 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Saturday from noon until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Trussville.

Jefferson Memorial in Trussville will direct the service.

ETHEL B. MORRIS

RIVERSIDE — Funeral service for Ethel B. Morris, 100, will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home chapel in Pell City with the Rev. Bobby Parker officiating. Burial will be in Valley Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Morris died Dec. 20 at Ingram Manor Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her husband, O.B. Morris; a son, O.B. Morris II and two grandsons, O.B. Morris III and Robert Jordan. She had lived in Riverside since 1920 and was a member of Cropwell Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Yvonne Wilson and husband Royal and Panama City, Fla., and Patricia Jordan and husband Lonnie of Montgomery; two sons, W. Pat Morris and wife Peggy of Navarre, Fla., and James Hamilton Morris and wife Connie of Riverside; 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; one niece, Edwina Naler and husband Jerry of Gadsden and several cousins.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6 until 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City will direct the service.

JOHN PAUL MOULIN

SYLACAUGA — Memorial service for John Paul Moulin, 65, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. Jude Catholic Church in Sylacauga with Father Joy officiating.

Mr. Moulin died Dec. 19 at Carraway Methodist Medical Center in Birmingham. He was an active member of St. Jude Catholic Church. He was married for 40 years and was a sales account manager with Keebler Company. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald L. Moulin and a sister, Martha Moulin.

He is survived by his wife, Suzanne M. Romary Moulin of Sylacauga; three sons, Michael J. Moulin of Deatsville, Kevin P. Moulin of Childersburg and Bryan S. Moulin of Austin, Texas; one daughter, Lisa Moulin Pope of Cropwell; his mother, Irene M. Moulin of Alliance, Ohio; three brothers, Robert Moulin of Tampa, Fla., Donald Moulin Jr. of Alliance, Ohio and Larry Moulin of Homeworth, Ohio; one sister, Betty Sherman of Alliance, Ohio and five grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions may be made to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Alabama Chapter, 100 Chase Park S., Birmingham, Ala., 35244 or St. Jude Catholic Church, 310 W. Bay St., P.O. Box 111, Sylacauga, Ala., 35150.

The family will have visitation at the church after the memorial service.

Radney-Smith Funeral Home in Sylacauga will direct the service.

Dorothy Lee Hill

Services for Dorothy Lee Hill, 76, were Monday at 2 p.m. at First United Meth-odist Church, with the Rev. James Robertson, Amy Raser and Dr. Will Garrett officiating. Burial was at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Hill died Saturday at her home.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn Gail and Jerry Penny of Jacksonville; a son and daughter-in-law, Nathan L. and Carol Hill of Jacksonville; three grandchildren, Michael Penny, Traci Howard and Holly Hill; five great-grandchildren, Hannah Penny, Jacob Penny, Jordan Penny, Kelsie Howard and Zachary Howard, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were James Brock, Billy Brock, Michael Penny, Michael Howard, Winfred “Doc” Grimes, Joe Grimes and Larry Alexander.

Mrs. Hill was a native of Marshall County and had lived in Calhoun County most of her life. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Hill, and 20 brothers and sisters. She enjoyed woodwork and raising African violets.

Donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 1025, Jacksonville 36265.
