Ford

MUNFORD - Services for Helen J. Ford, 83, of Munford will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Weaver Church of God with Rev. Harold Payne officiating. Burial will be in Edgemont Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Chapel Hill Funeral Home 6-8 tonight.

Mrs. Ford died Tuesday at Cleburne County Nursing Home in Heflin.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Gerald and Hazel Ramey of Munford; two grandchildren, Scott Ramey and Cassandra Tillman; and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Turner, Nathan Payne, Brian Gilpin, Roger Smith, Marvin Chapman and Jerimiah Turner. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Dr. Almena Free’s office.

Mrs. Ford, a Michigan native, was a member of Weaver Church of God. A World War II Army veteran, she retired from Oxford Fashions with 25 years service.

Frames

DELTA - Services for Betty Clarice Craven Frames, 56, of Delta will be 2 p.m. today at Bethel Baptist Church North with Revs. Ronnie Key, Jerry Bolt and Billy Taylor officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville until service time.

Mrs. Frames died Sunday at Baptist Montclair Medical Center in Birmingham.

Survivors include two daughters, Lynne Frames and Candi Frames, both of Delta; three sisters, Edna Character of Lineville, Willie Senciboy of Oxford and Ellen Key of Delta; five brothers, Ellis Craven of Oxford, Jim Craven of Jacksonville, C.B. Craven of Roanoke, Sherald Craven of Pensacola, Fla., and Wayne Craven of Hamilton, Miss.; and two grandchildren, Paige Williams and Craven Wheeles.

Pallbearers will be Jason Craven, Roger Easterwood, William Character, Byron Clarke, Dusty Craven, Bryan McCormack, Calvin Hill and Willie Bachus. Honorary pallbearers will be Ladies Fellowship Circle of Liberty Hill United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Frames, a Randolph County native and longtime Clay County resident, was a member of Liberty Hill United Methodist Church in Cleburne County. She had worked at Sewell Manufacturing Company in Heflin for a number of years and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Frames.

Gordon

MILLERVILLE - Services for Clyde Gordon, 83, of Millerville will be announced by Benefield Funeral Home of Ashland.

Mr. Gordon died Monday at Clay County Hospital.

Grainger

RANBURNE - Memorial services for John "Johnny" William Grainger, 64, of Ranburne will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Rainwater Funeral Home, Inc. in Bowdon, Ga. with Revs. Jackie Taylor, Hugh Weathers and Lee Hollis officiating.

Mr. Grainger died Tuesday at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Billie Ann Laster; a son, Jimmy Spence of Carrollton, Ga.; three stepsons, Johnny Caldwell, Michael Caldwell and his wife, Kim, and Keith Caldwell, all of Ranburne; two brothers and their wives, James and Lois Grainger, and H.C. and Mary Grainger, all of Tyus, Ga.; a sister and her husband, Pat and Jimmy White of Dadeville; eight grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.

Mr. Grainger, a Georgia native, was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church. He was a self-employed painter.

The family requests live flowers.

Hicks

HUNTSVILLE - Services for Everett "Buddy" Clinton Hicks, 82, of Huntsville will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Grant Memorial Chapel in Grant with Henry Smith officiating. Burial will be in Free Home Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 6 tonight.

Mr. Hicks died Monday at Big Springs Specialty Care Center in Huntsville.

Survivors include two daughters, Louise Strope of Oxford and Lynda Branum of Huntsville; two grandsons, David Gentry Jr., and John Earle Branum; and a great-grandchild.

Moran

PIEDMONT - Services for Lois David Moran, 87, of Piedmont will be 11 a.m. today at Thompson Funeral Home with Paul Ray and Rev. Charles Buerhaus officiating. Burial will be in Piedmont Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Moran died Monday at Jacksonville Medical Center.

Survivors include a daughter, Bonnie Davis of Piedmont; a son and his wife, Clark and Carol Davis of Piedmont; two brothers, Norris McFry and Burl McFry and his wife, Wylene, all of Rome, Ga.; six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Bill Stewart, Norris Ray, Ray Glover, Winford Kines, Larry Webb Sr., Sam Steed, Mike Davis and Clayton Bennett.

Mrs. Moran, a Piedmont area native and longtime resident, was a member of Piedmont Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Flowers will be accepted, or contributions may be made to the Piedmont Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 333, Piedmont, AL 36272.

Pruett

ASHLAND - Services for William D. Pruett Jr., 75, of Ashland will be announced by Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland.

Mr. Pruett died Monday at his home.

Shull

Services for Julian Kenneth Shull Sr., 89, of Anniston will be 11 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at Brown & Kughn Memory Chapel 5-7 p.m. Thursday.

Mr. Shull died Monday in Boone, N.C.

Stahl

WEAVER - Services for retired Army Lt. Col. Adolph Frederick Stahl, 91, of Weaver will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Covenant Lutheran Church in Jacksonville with Rev. Michael W. Lemke officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Jacksonville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6-8 tonight.

Mr. Stahl died Saturday at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center in Anniston.

Survivors include four daughters, Jule Anne Stahl, Caryl Lynn Stahl and Lois Jean Stahl, all of Weaver, and Mary Lee Stahl of New York, N.Y.; a sister, Marie Williamson of Waunakee, Wisc.; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be John Ritondo, Tom Scott, Myles Perry, John Jordan, Bill Backus, Tom Baucom, Howard Johnson and Larry Thomas. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Covenant Lutheran Church.

Mr. Stahl, a Wisconsin native, was a member of Covenant Lutheran Church. A World War II and Korean War Army veteran, he retired with 20 years’ service. He worked 10 years as a radio operator for the Alabama Department of Safety and served as a police officer in Madison, Wisc., for several years. He was a member of Madison Turners Association. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lydia Stahl.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to ELCA World Hunter Appeal, P.O. Box 71764, Chicago, IL 60694-1764.

Wright

MUNFORD - Services for Sadie Harrell Wright, 61, of Munford will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Miller Funeral Home in Oxford with Revs. Daniel Harper and Randy Young officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6-8 tonight.

Ms. Wright died Saturday at her home.

Survivors include two daughters, Tina Horn and her husband, Jeff, of Alexandria, and Virginia Wright of Munford; a brother and his wife, Bill and Mary Ruth Harrell of Oxford; two sisters and their husbands, Betty Lou and James Arthur of Munford, and Janice and Hildon Brown of Niceville, Fla.; and three grandchildren, Stefanie McGuffey, Kimberly Wright and Zachary Horn.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Harrell, Zachary Horn, Billy Clark Jr., James Arthur, Ricky Shiflett, Wilbur Wood, Bill Nelson, Virgel Waldrop and Doug Harmon.

Ms. Wright was a lifelong Munford resident. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack Edward and Nora Moore Harrell; and a brother, Alan Harrell.

Branch

CRAGFORD - Services for Rebecca Branch, 64, of Cragford will be 2 p.m. today at Mellow Valley Baptist Church with Revs. Tommy Young, Jerry Whelles and Jerry Patterson officiating. Burial will be in Bethany Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends an hour before services at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville. The body will be at the church an hour before services.

Mrs. Branch died Monday at her home.

Survivors include her husband, Wayne Branch; two daughters and their husbands, Jill and Larry Roberson of Lineville, and Wynema and Keith Gilbert of Ashland; a son and his wife, Dennis and Lisa Branch of Savannah, Ga.; a sister and her husband, Mary Jim and Braxton Garrett of Wadley; and six grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be deacons of Mellow Valley Baptist Church, Brad Gilbert and Payton Gilbert.

Mrs. Branch, a Randolph County native, had lived most of her life in Clay County. She was a member of Mellow Valley Baptist Church. She had been employed with Alexander City Outlook in the advertising department and with Credit Bureau in Alexander City as a credit manager.

Burton

Services for Lois Blake "Miss Tot" Burton, 86, of Anniston will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. Fred Durant officiating. Burial will be in Heflin City Cemetery with Ervin Funeral Chapel in charge. The body will be at the church an hour before services.

Mrs. Burton died Sunday at National Health Care in Anniston.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Otha and Love Burton of Heflin; three daughters, Audrey Houston of Anniston, Annette Cunningham and her husband, Vertis, of Heflin, and Bennie Fitzpatrick and her husband, Ree, of Little Rock, Ark.; a sister, Pearl Oglesby of Maywood, Ill.; nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and friends of the family.

Mrs. Burton was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Heflin where she served on the Matron Board and in the choir. She was preceded in death by five sisters, three brothers and two grandsons.

Caudle

HUNTSVILLE - Services for Morgan L. Caudle, 92, of Huntsville, formerly of Anniston, will be 1 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church with Drs. Ralph Langley and David Hull officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. CDT Friday at Crest Lawn Memorial Park in Atlanta. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at Laughlin Service Funeral Home, Inc. in Huntsville.

Mr. Caudle died Monday.

Survivors include his wife, Ernestine Caudle; three sons, William Morgan Caudle of Memphis, Tenn., Andrew Allen Caudle of Madison and James Lee Caudle of Huntsville; a stepdaughter, Nancy Steiner of Huntsville; a stepson, John Gusich of Huntsville; eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Mr. Caudle was a member of First Baptist Church. A World War II Army veteran, he retired from the Army Missile Command in 1976. He was a member and chaplain of the Elks Lodge.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Elks Memorial Center, or a favorite charity.
