Hubbard

PIEDMONT - Services for Michelle Carol Hubbard, 18, of Piedmont (Spring Garden Community) will be 3 p.m. today at Jordan Funeral Home in Centre with Rev. Paul Kenneth Moses officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Gap Cemetery.

Miss Hubbard died Sunday Floyd Medical Center.

Survivors include her parents, Gary and Modessa Rainey of Piedmont; a sister, Rita Mason of Cave Spring, Ga.; three brothers, Tony Wright Jr. and Gary Hubbard, both of Piedmont, and Jeremy Mason of Cave Spring; her grandmother, Carolyn Muehlmeyer; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Mayhall, Donnie Maddox Jr., Eddie Farmer, Jamie Martin, Todd Smith, Carl Cohley, Tony Heath and Frankie Addison.

Miss Hubbard, a Coffey, Kan. Native, was Baptist. She attended Spring Garden High School and was a cashier.

Flowers will be accepted, or contributions may be made to the Michelle Hubbard Fund at Jordan Funeral Home.

Jordan

FORT WORTH, Texas - Services for Irma Dale Jordan, 81, of Fort Worth, Texas, formerly of Anniston, will be 2 p.m. today at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel of Fort Worth. Burial will be in Laurel Land Memorial Park.

Mrs. Jordan died Sunday in Fort Worth.

Survivors include her husband, Tom Jordan; a son, Thomas J. Jordan Jr. and his wife, Lorena; two daughters and their husbands, Nancy and Deven Dagen, and Debbie and Richard Ruffu; a sister, Ella Seitz of Las Vegas; a brother, Marcus Whiddon of Dothan; two brothers-in-law, Robert Jordan of Anniston and Lamar Jordan of Dallas; and eight grandchildren, Dane Jordan, Britta Jordan, Price Jordan, John Dagen, Leslie Dagen, Adam Ruffu, Rachel Ruffu and Leah Ruffu.

Mrs. Jordan, a Headland native, was a member of Westcliff United Methodist Church. She had been active in several PTAs, including Anniston. She was a speaker and soloist.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Westcliff United Methodist Church’s video ministry.

Julian

Services for Catherine Louise Julian, 48, of Anniston will be 11 a.m. today at Dryden Funeral Home in Heflin with Rev. Wayne Woods officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to services at the funeral home.

Mrs. Julian died Monday at her home.

Survivors include her husband, Martin E. Julian; her mother, Thelma Mary Gibson of Portage, Ind.; two daughters, Cassandra Deck of Wolcott, Ind. and Pamela Julian of Anniston; a son, Shannon Ridgeway of Oxford; two sisters, Laura Kresk of Indianapolis and Pat Harris of Seattle; a brother, Dave Gibson of Lake Station, Ind.; and six grandchildren.

Mrs. Julian, an Arkansas native, had lived in Calhoun County since 2003.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Countryside Hospice.

Messer

ROANOKE - Services for Curtis Messer, 74, of Roanoke will be 2 p.m. today at Napoleon (East) Church of Christ with Bros. James McDonald and Otis Bowen Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive friends until service time at Benefield Funeral Home in Wedowee.

Mr. Messer died Monday at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Katherine Johnson Messer; three daughters, Katherine Conger and Tammie Wood, both of Roanoke, and Linda Butts and her husband, Gary, of Springfield, Mo.; three sons, Wayne Messer of Oxford, Tom Messer of Wedowee and Tim Messer and his wife, Theresa, of Woodland; a sister, Lonie Wilson of Roanoke; 13 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Wendell Williams, Gary Butts, Jeffrey Mitchell, Donald Thompson, Shorty Williamson and Mike Kirby.

Mr. Messer, a Randolph County native, was a member of Napoleon Church of Christ. He had worked as a truck driver, a mechanic and an automobile salesman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kirk and Carrie Bailey Messer; two sisters, Dorothy Kirby Mitchell and Ursula Thompson; and two brothers, Hollis Messer and Edmond Messer.

Rader

TALLADEGA - Services for Mary Nell Rader, 74, of Talladega will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Usrey Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Rader died Tuesday at Talladega Health Care Center.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Brenda T. and Douglas Martin of Talladega; two sons, Frankie Tinney of Talladega and Bob Tinney and his wife, Janice, of Riverside; a brother and his wife, Euell Bud and Judy Harvell of Talladega; six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Rader, a Talladega native and lifelong resident, was a member of Talladega Creek Baptist Church.

Turner

TALLADEGA - Services for Mary John Jenkins Turner, 70, of Talladega will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Union Spring Baptist Church with Dr. Samuel Turner officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Sims Funeral Service of Talladega in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services.

Mrs. Turner died Saturday at God’s Care House in Lincoln.

Survivors include three daughters, Peggy T. Meadows, Veronica T. Tuck and Brenda T. Evans, all of Talladega; a brother, George Jenkins of Midway; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and a caregiver, Diane Collins of Lincoln.

Pallbearers will be nephews.

Mrs. Turner was a member of the Church of Christ in Munford and later attended Union Spring Missionary Baptist Church. She was employed for more than 45 years by Roy Robinson and his family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Lee Turner; her parents, Squire and Georgia P. Jenkins; a sister, Doris Jenkins Wilkins; and a brother, Roma Gene Jenkins.

Vaughan

OXFORD - Services for Velma Bonnell Cain Vaughan, 72, of Oxford will be 3 p.m. today at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary in Anniston with Rev. Allen Hudson officiating. Burial will be in Edgemont Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home two hours before the service.

Ms. Vaughan died Sunday at Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Howell Anderson "Andy" and Leah Vaughan of Raleigh, N.C.; three sisters, Edith Cain Payne and her husband, George, of Weaver, Helen Faye Cain of Oxford and Dorothy Cain Hightower and her husband, Cullen, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; a brother and his wife, Eual Doss and Billie Cain of Mansfield, Ga.; and two grandchildren, Joseph Robert Vaughan and Sarah Elizabeth Vaughan.

Pallbearers will be George Payne, Donald Bryant, Robert Fargason, Jimmy Doss, Johnny Boyd and John Crockrell.

Ms. Vaughn, a Calhoun County native and former Miami resident, was a member of Miami Shores Baptist Church. She retired from Union State Bank in Pell City. She was preceded in death by her parents, William P. and Lillie Doss Cain; two brothers, Earl Cain and Robert Cain; and a grandchild, Benjamin Daniel Vaughan.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to ALS Association, 2700 Agoura Road, Suite 150, Calabasas, CA 91301.

Baker

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Services for Joshua Kane Baker, 27, of Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Anniston, will be announced by Crestwood Funeral Home in Gadsden.

Mr. Baker died Wednesday.

Brown

Services for Sharon Sue Brown, 40, of Anniston will be 11 a.m. Friday at Dryden Funeral Home in Heflin. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Brown died Wednesday at Regional Medical Center in Anniston.

Carroll

OXFORD - Services for infant Jacob Carroll, 6 months, of Oxford will be announced by Miller Funeral Home in Oxford.

The infant died Wednesday at Children’s Hospital in Birmingham.

Cooper

JACKSONVILLE - Services for Audrey Helen Turner Cooper, 76, of Jacksonville will be 11 a.m. Friday at Collier-Butler Funeral Home in Gadsden with Rev. Garry Brown officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Boaz. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Cooper died Tuesday.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Mary Alice and Max Kirby of Jacksonville; a brother and his wife, William Ray and Hilda Turner of Magnolia Springs; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be friends and family.

Mrs. Cooper, a Marshall County native and longtime Gadsden resident, had lived in Jacksonville six years. She was a member of North Gadsden Methodist Church. She retired as a nurse.

Edmondson

MILLERVILLE - Memorial services for Robert Louis Edmondson Jr., 45, of Millerville will be 5 p.m. today at Clay County Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Thornburg officiating.

Mr. Edmondson died Monday at his home.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Tina E. and Edward Otralek of Kellyton; and a son and his wife, Robert Charles and Stephanie Edmondson of Auburn.

Mr. Edmondson, a Clay County native and lifelong resident, was employed as a cabinet maker at Tru-Wood Cabinets Inc. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Louis Edmondson and Annette Guthrie Edmondson.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the Clay County Sheriff’s Auxiliary or a favorite church or charity.

Holmes

RAINBOW CITY - Services for D.C. "Baldy" Holmes, 83, of Rainbow City will be 11 a.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel with Rev. Chris Crain and Dr. Mike Yogg officiating. Burial will be in Rainbow Memorial Park.

Mr. Holmes died Tuesday.

Survivors include his wife, Adele Holmes; three children and their spouses, Marvin and Phyllis Wilson of Southside, Barbara and Luther Riddle of Rainbow City and Annie Laura and Freddie Waddell of Ohatchee; a sister, Catherine Nichols of Quero, Texas; two brothers, George W. Holmes of Jacksonville, Fla., and Joseph C. Holmes Sr. and his wife, Clara, of Springfield, La.; eight grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Cliff Wilson, Jonathan Wilson, Calvin Riddle, Jeff Ramsey, Jimbo Lawley, Heath Waddell, Chad Waddell and Taylor Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be Old Men’s Sunday School Class of White Springs Baptist Church.

Mr. Holmes, a World War II Army veteran, was a member of White Springs Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dallas C. and Ellen Holmes; two brothers, Elvie Holmes and Benny Holmes; and a sister, Inez Wood.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to White Springs Baptist Church.
