Abercrombie

RANBURNE - Services for Nellie Faye Abercrombie, 68, of Ranburne will be at 2 p.m. today at Macedonia Baptist Church with Revs. J. Marcus Merritt and Lee Loveless officiating. Burial will be in Cleburne Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Abercrombie died Friday at her home.

Survivors include her husband, Obie Gerald Abercrombie of Ranburne; two daughters, Rhonda Bradbary and Jvone McKinney, both of Ranburne; five sisters, Verlie Johnson Gaines, Dessie McGuire and Dianne Williams, all of Ranburne, and Bobbie Spruill and Kelsey Boatman, both of Oxford; two brothers, Vachel Stapler of Huntsville and Nelson Stapler of Carrollton, Ga.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be relatives and friends.

Mrs. Abercrombie was a native and lifelong resident of Ranburne. She was a retired cake decorator and a former employee of Kroger in Carrollton. She was a member of Ranburne Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Velma Smith, and a brother, V.J. Stapler.

Camp

TALLADEGA - Services for Robert Douglas Camp, 62, of Talladega will be at 2 p.m. today at Usrey Chapel with Revs. Sorrell Wesson Jr. and John Thomas Shaddix officiating. Burial will be in Stockdale Baptist Cemetery.

Mr. Camp died Friday at Baptist Medical Center Montclair in Birmingham.

Survivors include his wife, Maxine Gurley Camp of Talladega; a daughter, Leigh Camp Walters of Lenlock; a stepdaughter, Christin Cole of Talladega; a sister, Beverly Utter of Hattiesburg, Miss; a brother, Harvey Emerson Camp of Eastaboga; two grandchildren, Kenly Walters and Amory Leigh Camp; and one stepgrandchild, Pierce William Cole.

Pallbearers will be Don Turner, Johnny Bigbee, Donnie Gallahar, Wayne Culver, Todd Bigbee, Wayne Bigbee, Ron Walters and Marvin Curlee.

Mr. Camp was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega County. He was a member of Craig Memorial United Methodist Church in Eastaboga. He was owner of Camp Callers.

Davis

LINCOLN - Services for Violet Julia Davis, 87, of Lincoln will be held at a later date at North Minister Presbyterian Church in St. Louis. Brown & Kughn Memory Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Davis died Friday at St. Clair Regional in Pell City.

Survivors include a daughter, Julie A. Facklam and her husband, Ted, of Lincoln; three sons, Robert C. Davis and his wife, Sandy, of St. Charles, Mo., Michael B. Davis and his wife, Susan, of San Francisco, Calif., and Richard E. Davis and his wife, Susan of St. Charles; a sister, Elsie Berry of Nebraska; a brother, Doug Taylor of Wyoming; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Davis was a St. Louis, Mo., native and had lived in Lincoln two weeks.

Diggle

OXFORD - Services for Jerry Milton Diggle, 61, of Oxford will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home with Dr. Don Cox officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Diggle died Friday at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Diggle of Oxford; three daughters, Colleen Howell and her husband, Rusty, of Alabama, Jerijo Cox and her husband, Don, of Anderson, S.C. and Shantel Blaylock and her husband, Paul, of Chickamauga, Ga.; his parents, Robert and Earline Kruse of Council Bluffs, Iowa; his father, Gordon Diggle of Tulsa, Okla.; eight grandchildren, Corey Howell, Hannah Cox, Caleb Cox, Ginny Cox, Josiah Cox, Robert Blaylock, Andrew Blaylock and Ryan Blaylock; one sister, Lori Gann of Tulsa; and two brothers, Bill Diggle of Tulsa and Greg Wooldridge of Des Moines, Iowa.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Brown, Paul Blaylock, Rusty Howell, Caleb Cox, Greg Wooldridge, Robby Blaylock, Earl Bonds and Buddy Minton.

Mr. Diggle was born in Omaha, Neb., and raised in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He was a graduate of the University of Nebraska in Omaha. He served four years in the Navy. He was employed in the food industry as a marketing and merchandising executive and owned and operated Jerry’s Super Foods and other food stores in Anniston and Columbiana from 1978 to 1989. From 1991 to 1993 he was employed by Rich Food/Super Valu in Richmond, Va. He moved back to Alabama in July. He was a member of New Highland Baptist Church in Mechanicsville, Va. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Diane Diggle and Jody Davidson.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to New Beacon Hospice in Anniston.

Flowers

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Services for Ethel L. Flowers, 80, of Kansas City, Mo., formerly of Anniston, will be announced by Ervin Funeral Chapel.

Mrs. Flowers died Thursday in Kansas City.

Hare

ASHVILLE - Services for Ola G. Hare of Ashville will be 10 a.m. Monday at Usrey Chapel with Revs. Doug Ford, David Hare and Matthew Crowe officiating. Burial will be in Ragland Methodist Cemetery.

Mrs. Hare died Saturday at her home.

Survivors include two daughters, Betty Ann Smith of Birmingham and Jo Deason of Pell City; two sons, Laverne Hare of Ragland and Gerald Hare of Waleska, Ga.; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be David Hare, Tim Hare, Charles Wolfe, Blake Smith, Jeffery Smith and Kerry Smith.

Mrs. Hare was a member of First Baptist Church of Ragland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oris Hare, a daughter, Maxine Wolfe, and a grandson, Greg Deason.

Harper

WHITE PLAINS - Services for Merrill R. Harper, 81, of White Plains will be 3 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church of White Plains with Rev. Eric Snider officiating. The body will be at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Harper Family Cemetery in White Plains. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at Gray Brown-Service.

Mr. Harper died Saturday in Anniston.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy S. Harper of White Plains; two sons, Ronald B. Harper and his wife, Patsy, and Tony Harper and his wife, Debbie, all of White Plains; a daughter, Sandra Harper Harris and her husband, Pat, of White Plains; a brother, Jasper Harper of White Plains; a sister, Dolly Hall of White Plains; eight grandchildren, Tona McSharidan, Reagan Hall, Adam Harper, Heather Wheeler, Candice Dingler, Tessa Harper Gardner, Chase Harris and Shea Harris; and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Bob Wilson, Frankie Beacham, Mark Maner, Donny Ford, Sparks Harper and Andrew Dulin.

Mr. Harper was a native and lifelong resident of White Plains. He was a veteran of World War II and was a Baptist. He was owner of a construction company and was a cattle farmer. He was a member of the Cattleman’s Association. He was preceded in death by his son, Robin B. Harper.

Heflin

Services for Almus Heflin, 76, of Anniston will be announced by Ervin Funeral Chapel.

Mr. Heflin died Saturday at Regional Medical Center.

Hulett

Services for James Harold Hulett, 58, of Anniston will be 2 p.m. Monday at Trinity Baptist Church in Oxford with Dr. C.O. Grinstead and Rev. Creston Hulett officiating. Burial will be in Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the service Monday at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary and Crematory.

Mr. Hulett died Friday in Smyrna, Tenn.

Survivors include his wife, Lucretia McKinnon Hulett of Anniston; two sons, Creston Owen Hulett of Mt. Juliet, Tenn. and William Scott Hulett of Anniston; two daughters, Windi Robin Divine of LaVergne, Tenn. and Amanda Lucretia Thrasher of Anniston; six grandchildren, Molly Elizabeth Devine, Alison Ann Devine, John David Devine, Samuel Evan Thrasher, Andrew Scott Hulett and Brennan Janae Hulett; a brother, Davis Rhodes Hulett of Anniston; and a mother-in-law, Joyce S. Gidley of Anniston.

Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be members of the adult men’s Sunday school class at Trinity Baptist Church in Oxford.

Mr. Hulett was an Anniston native and lifelong resident and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, were he was active with Truth Radio. He was involved with Boy Scouts of America for 10 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. C.O. Hulett and a brother, Curtis Hulett.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Truth Radio c/o Trinity Baptist Church, 1500 Airport Road, Oxford, AL 36203 or Gideons International.

Lackey

TALLADEGA - Services for Howard William Lackey, 91, of Talladega will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Ironaton Church of Christ with Cliff Goodwin officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Talladega Funeral Home from 2-7 p.m.

Mr. Lackey died Friday at Lineville Nursing Home.

Survivors include four daughters, Carolyn Folsom of Munford, Wilma Hooper of Silver Run, Jacqueline Christensen of Juneau, Alaska and Gwen Wyatt of Clairmont Springs; a son, Jim Lackey of Ironaton; three sisters, Velma East of Talladega and Margie Lackey and Nell Lackey, both of Munford; 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Tyrone and Alan Hooper, Joey Reinier, Scott Lackey, John Daily and Steve Weldon. Honorary pallbearers are all men of Ironaton Church of Christ.

Mr. Lackey was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega County. He was retired from S&R Lumber Company and was a member of Ironaton Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma G. Lackey.

Lancaster

Services for will be 2 p.m. Monday at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home with Mike Hooks officiating. Burial will be in Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Lancaster died Friday at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include two daughters, Jeanett Alford and her husband, Harry, of Gallatin, Tenn., and Charlotte Johnson and her husband, James, of Gadsden; a sister, Jewel Lancaster of Anniston; a brother, Jerry Lancaster of Gadsden; eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Mitchell

WEDOWEE - Services for Barbara Jean Whaley Mitchell, 71, of Wedowee will be at 3 p.m. today at Liberty Church of Christ with Brother J.L. Sparks officiating. The body will be at the church one hour before the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Mitchell died Friday at West Georgia Medical Center.

Survivors include her husband, Louie Timothy Mitchell; three daughters, Trina King and Denna Barnett of Stockbridge, Ga., and Tonya Hudson of Lineville; a son, Louie Timothy Mitchell Jr. of Lineville; 14 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Russell Holland, Brad Mitchell, Chad Mitchell, Timothy Mitchell III, Adam King, Christopher King, Brett Barnett and Christian Aybar.

Mrs. Mitchell was a member of Liberty Church of Christ.
