Pamela Ann Mitchell

LINCOLN — Funeral service for Pamela Ann Mitchell, 25, will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Talladega Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Midway Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Mitchell died Feb. 1 in Lincoln.

She was a native of Dennison, Texas, but lived most of her life in Talladega County. She was of the Pentecostal faith and was employed by Southern Defense.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Douglas Martin and Alvin Mitchell, and one brother, David Martin.

She is survived by her husband, Joey Lugo of Lincoln; one son, David Paul Lugo of Lincoln; two step-sons, Corey Lugo of Lincoln and Dustin Lugo of North Carolina; her parents, Angela Horn of Lincoln and her father and step-mother, Johnny and Cindy Horn of Oneonta; her grandmother, Myra Martin of Lincoln; and several aunts and uncles.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Beverly, Eddie Smith, Roy Dale Proctor, Frank Grogan, Jeremiah Gurley, Rick Abbott and Hiram Barnett.

Honorary pallbearers will be Blake Norred and Brandon Jennings.

Talladega Funeral Home will direct the service.

Roger D. Caudle

SYLACAUGA — Funeral service for Roger D. Caudle, 47, will be Monday at 3 p. m. at Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel with Brother Mike Kiser officiating. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery.

Mr. Caudle died Feb. 2 at Cooper Green Hospital in Birmingham.

He was a member of Broadway Church of Christ and led singing at the church. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia and was a teacher at Sylacauga High School.

He is survived by his mother, Eunice Caudle of Sylacauga; two sisters, Betty Long of Sylacauga and Peggie Furline of Alabaster; two brothers, Joel Caudle of Florence and Tim Caudle of Childersburg; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Greg Adair, Brett Adair, Cody Caudle, Mickey Long, Eldred Prickett and Howard Barnett.

The family receive friends Sunday at the funeral home from 5:30 p.m. until 9 p.m.

Curtis and Son North Chapel will direct the service.

Lizzie Ann Green

VINCENT — Lizzie Ann Green, 48, died Jan. 31 at Brookwood Medical Center.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Sims Funeral Service.

Grace Guinn

ASHLAND — Funeral service for Grace Guinn, 90, will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Rocky Mount Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Kytan, the Rev. Milton Green and the Rev. Clyde Coker officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Guinn died Feb. 2 at Baptist Montclair Medical Center in Birmingham.

She was a native of Talladega County, but lived in Clay County most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Rocky Mount Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Arnie D. Guinn of Clay County; one daughter, Shirley G. Coker and son-in-law Clyde Coker of Alexander City; one son, Cecil H. Guinn and daughter-in-law, Mary Guinn of Clay County; five grandchildren, Karen G. Fenn, Nancy G. Childers, Alan D. Guinn, Angela C. Hendrix and Cindy C. Osborn; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great- grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Alan Guinn, Ted Fenn, Buddy Childers, Brian Osborn, Matthew Fenn and Steven Hoffman.

Honorary pallbearers will be Virgil Chandler, Ben Williamson and David Hendrix.

Mrs. Guinn will lie in state for one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. Sunday.

Clay County Funeral Home will direct the service.

Frances Hicks

SYLACAUGA — Graveside service for Frances Hicks, 84, will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Talladega with the Rev. Keith Pugh officiating.

Mrs. Hicks died Jan. 31 in Houston, Texas.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Sylacauga.

She is survived by two brothers, Patrick M. Hicks of LaGrange, Ga. and Lawrence R. Hicks of Humble, Texas.

Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel will direct the service.

James L. Smith

LINEVILLE — Funeral service for James L. Smith, 76, will be Monday at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Jerry Herston officiating. Burial will be in Lineville City Cemetery.

Mr. Smith died Feb. 1 at Lineville Nursing Facility. He was a native of Clay County, and a former resident of Jacksonville, Fla., but lived in Lineville since 1996. He was self-employed in sales and was a member of Lineville First United Methodist Church. He was a Mason and a Navy World War II veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, John William and Velma Reeves Smith and by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Smith.

He is survived by a daughter, Mary Gail Bolton of Temple, Texas; a son, James L. Smith Jr. of Pennsylvania; two sisters, Eva Jane Bryan of Kalamazoo, Mich. and Elizabeth Ann Henson of Jackson, Miss.; two brothers, Dr. George C. Smith of Lineville and Thomas Reeves of Bethesda, Md.; and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Dr. Buddy Smith, Matthew Smith, Michael Paschal, Andy Smith, Lloyd Sparks, Dr. Dwain Rush, Bob Willis and Zenus Windsor.

The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville Sunday from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m., and Monday until 10:30 a.m.

Benefield Funeral Home of Lineville will direct the service.

L.T. BLACKMON
CHILDERSBURG — Funeral service for L.T. Blackmon, 76, will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Childersburg Church of God with the Rev. Louie J. Fincher and Larry Fowler officiating. Burial will be in Tallassahatchie Cemetery.

Mr. Blackmon died Feb. 3 at his residence. He was a member of the Church of God, was a loving father and grandfather and was preceded in death by one sister, Pauline Hughes.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred Louise Blackmon of Childersburg; one daughter, Lynn Blackmon Chain of Childersburg; one sister, Lola Mae Austin of Chickamauga, Ga.; two brothers-in-law, Johnny Kissic and E.L. Kissic of Childersburg; nine grandchildren, Jennifer Harris, Amanda Chain, Justin Chain, Orry Bryant, Kady Bryant, Zach Chain, Erin Chain, Ryan Kissic and Summer Kissic; and two great-grandchildren, Cole and Hanna Harris.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Chain, James Chain, Joel Bryant, Orry Bryant, John Kissic and Alex Harris.

Curtis and Son Funeral Home Childersburg Chapel will direct the service.

RACHEL MAC ODEN HOWARD THOMAS

TALLADEGA — Funeral service for Rachel Mac Oden Howard Thomas, 96, of Wattsville, will be Wednesday at noon at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Wallace Pinson officiating. Burial will be in Rocky Zion Cemetery.

Mrs. Thomas died Jan. 31 at Beverly Ingram Healthcare Center. She was a former member of Shiloh Baptist Church and was a member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Payton Oden and Gracie Ragland Oden; two sisters; four brothers; and her husbands, Gurley Howard and Hosie Thomas.

She is survived by two daughters, Glenella Cunningham of Wattsville and Betty Jean Borden of Detroit, Mich.; one stepdaughter, Brenda Collins; two sons, Harry Howard and Fred J. Howard of Columbia, Pa.; five stepsons, Billy Ray Thomas, William Thomas, Roy Lester Thomas, Walter Thomas and Freeman Thomas; 12 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

The body may be viewed at the church for an hour before the service.

Terry’s Metropolitan Mortuary will direct the service.

REX BURNS

DAYTON, Ohio — Rex Burns, 54, formerly of Childersburg, died Feb. 2 at Scott Nursing Home in Dayton, Ohio.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Community Funeral Home.

JAMES HUBERT CRAWFORD

ASHLAND — Funeral service for James Hubert Crawford, 90, will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Sardis Baptist Church with the Rev. George Sewell, the Rev. Coy Powell and the Rev. Tommy Young officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Crawford died Feb. 3 at Clay County Hospital. He was a native and lifelong resident of Clay County, was a wood producer, a farmer and had been employed by Bemis Co. in Talladega. He was a member of Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Lucille Crawford of Ashland; four daughters, Frances Brand, Katie Ann McCain and Polly Bachmann of Ashland and Debra Jordan of Cragford; six sons, James D. Crawford of Ashland, Terry Crawford of Millerville, Jimmy Crawford of Ashland, Robert Crawford of Hackneyville, Joe Crawford of Mellow Valley and Roger Crawford of Daviston; one brother, Woodfin Crawford of Ashland; 30 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Pallbearers will be Bo Crawford, Don Crawford, Dale Crawford, Joey Crawford, Harvey Brand, Bobby Gibson, Cody Crawford and Chad Jordan.

Honorary pallbearers will be Runt Crawford, John Crawford, Jamie Crawford, Shane Crawford, Todd Crawford, Dewayne Crawford, Wesley Jordan, Brinton Crawford, Clay Crawford, Wyatt Morris, Lee Brand, Clint Morris and Wesley Morris.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday and until one hour before the service.

The body may be viewed at the church for one hour.

Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland will direct the service.
