TROY GANN

HUEYTOWN - Graveside service for Troy "Nate" Gann, 9, will be Friday, Oct. 8, at 2 p.m. in Bethany Baptist Cemetery in Ashville with the Rev. Tony Layton officiating.

The child died Oct. 4 in Hueytown. He was preceded in death by his "PaPa" Tony Glass.

He is survived by his grandmother, Debra Glass of Ashville; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Brian Glass, Rodney Glass, Tim Stone, Andy Ledlow, D.J. Glass, Josh Clifton, Bill Goggans, Larry Taylor, Daryl Taylor, Greg Wood, Eric Greer and Adam Greer.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Usrey Funeral Home in Pell City will direct the service.

HERMAN GLENN

ALEXANDER CITY - Funeral service for Herman Glenn, 55, will be Friday, Oct. 8, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Eddie L. Hunter officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Glenn died Oct. 1 at Russell Medical Center.

He is survived by daughters, Marilyn Oliver of Alexander City, Michelle Buchanon of Reading, Pa., Tamika Glenn of Childersurg and Shaquetta McKnell of Lineville; sons, Christopher Oliver of Reading, Pa., Patrick Oliver of New Site, Herman Glenn Jr. of New Site and Ronnie Tatum of Franklin, Ga.; sister, Mariam Stowes of New Site; brother, Therman Glenn of Reading, Pa.; five aunts; two uncles; 24 grandchildren; special friend, Benny Price; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Wright’s Funeral Home will direct the service.

DORANEZE GREEN

SYLACAUGA - Doraneze Green, 69, died Oct. 6 at Regional Medical Center.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Radney-Smith Funeral Home in Sylacauga.

WILLIAM A. FOWLER

CENTER POINT - William A. Fowler, 82, died Oct. 5.

He was a World War II veteran and was a member of the Teamsters Union.

He is survived by children, Ruth Newton, Gary Hyde and Dawn Parnell; eight grandchildren; and many friends from Rosewood Manor in Pell City.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Kilgroe Funeral Home in Leeds is in charge of the arrangements.

SARAH BRIMER JORDAN LEE

LINCOLN - Funeral service for Sarah Brimer Jordan Lee, 82, will be Friday, Oct. 8, at 3 p.m. at Patton’s Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Shannon Caudle and the Rev. Barry Grizzard officiating. Burial will be in Patton’s Chapel Cemetery.

Mrs. Lee died Oct. 4 at her residence. She was a native of Georgia, had lived in Lincoln most of her life and was a member of Patton’s Chapel Baptist Church.

She is survived by daughters, Mildred Hill and husband Bobby of Gadsden, Sue Perkins of Birmingham, Jane Mitchell and husband Ronnie of Lincoln and Patty Robison of Lincoln; sons, Tim Brimer of Lincoln and Al Brimer and wife Nancy of Birmingham; brother, Clifford Cotton of Bynum; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and special friend and caregiver, Naomi Woodard and son Terrance.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be B.J. Barnes, Eddie Barnes, Kenneth Ford, Wayne Cotton, Randy Adams and David Torres.

REBECCA JEAN SAMPSON

HUEYTOWN - Graveside service for Rebecca Jean Sampson, 26, will be Friday, Oct. 8, at 2 p.m. in Bethany Baptist Cemetery in Ashville with the Rev. Tony Layton officiating.

Ms. Sampson died Oct. 4 in Hueytown. She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Tony Glass.

She is survived by her mother, Debra Glass of Ashville; stepbrothers, Brian Glass of Jasper and Rodney Glass of Ragland; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

DELORIS L. O’NEAL Jones GAY

VINCENT - Funeral service for Deloris L. O’Neal Jones Gay, 67, will be Saturday, Oct. 9, at 1 p.m. at Duncan Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church in Vincent with Elder Nathanial Green officiating. Burial will be in Calcis Community Cemetery.

Mrs. Gay died Sept. 30 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her mother, Willie Mae Shorter O’Neal Worthington; her father, Claude W. O’Neal; stepfather, Postell Worthington; and brothers, Fred O’Neal, Willie Freeman O’Neal, Victor O’Neal and Jimmie Worthington.

She is survived by daughter, Pastor Yumato Yetsen Jones Kelley of Vincent; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers, Lorenza O’Neal, Richard O’Neal and David O’Neal of Calcis, Claude O’Neal of Chicago, Ill., and Nathaniel O’Neal of Montgomery; stepbrother, Andrew Worthington of Detroit, Mich.; stepsisters, Deautric Lathan, Lovenia Banks, Gwendolyn Carlisle and Barbara Roberts of Detroit, Mich.; and a host of other relatives.

The body may be viewed at the church for one hour before the service.

Sims Funeral Service will direct the service.

MARY F. SPURLING

TALLADEGA - Funeral service for Mary F. Spurling, 87, will be Saturday, Oct. 9, at 2 p.m. at Talladega Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Ottis Graves officiating. Burial will be in Midway Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Spurling died Oct. 7 at Talladega Health Care Center. She was preceded in death by a son, Paul Spurling. She was a native of Clay County and had lived most of her life in Talladega County. She was a homemaker and was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church in Talladega.

She is survived by daughters, Martha Holmes of Talladega and Mary Johnson of Talladega; sons, Grady Spurling, Tony Spurling, Charlie Spurling, Danny Spurling and Dewayne Spurling of Talladega, Benny Spurling of Anniston, Leslie Spurling of Lincoln and James Spurling of Roanoke; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Talladega Funeral Home will direct the service.

DORRIS COHILL TRUSS

TALLADEGA - Graveside service for Dorris Cohill Truss, 73, of 905 Grove St., will be Saturday, Oct. 9, at 11 a.m. in Pine Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. B.E. McKinney officiating.

Mrs. Truss died Oct. 3 at Talladega Health Care Center. She attended Cobb High School in Anniston, attended Marcellus School of Beauty and was a beautician for 58 years. She was owner of Dot’s Beauty Shop, was a former member of Friendship Baptist Church and later Mars Hill Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Milton Judson Truss of Talladega; stepdaughter, Andrea Voncille Truss of Talladega; sisters, Essie Carr of Anniston and Dyquita Meadows of Marietta, Ga.; and brothers, Charles Cohill of Anniston and Willie R. Cohill of Brooklyn, N.Y.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Terry’s Metropolitan Mortuary will direct the service.

COLVIN BOLEWARE

ALEXANDER CITY - Funeral service for Colvin “Carl” Boleware, 89, will be Saturday, Oct. 9, at 1 p.m. at Great Bethel Baptist Church in Alexander City with the Rev. Emerson Ware Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Armour’s Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Boleware died Oct. 5 at Russell Medical Center. He was born on March 10, 1915 in Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Boleware and Mary Russell Boleware.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Harris Boleware of Alexander City; and a host of other relatives.

Armour’s Memorial Funeral Home in Alexander City will direct the service.

VIRGIE LEE BRASHER

PELL CITY - Funeral service for Virgie Lee Brasher, 79, will be Friday, Oct. 8, at 4 p.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home chapel in Pell City with Brother Jacky Connell officiating. Burial will be in Lawleys Chapel Cemetery.

Mrs. Brasher died Oct. 6. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Brasher; and a grandson, David Brasher.

She is survived by sons, Gene Brasher and Jim Brasher; brothers, Marvin Walker, James Wilburn Walker and Talmadge Walker; sisters, Audrey Howard, Willodean Kniphfer and Doris Pentz; grandchildren, Lee Brasher, Robin Brasher, Scott Brasher and Alisha Harris; and great-grandchild, Parker Harris.

Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City will direct the service.
