ANN BECK GRAY

ALEXANDER CITY — Graveside service for Ann Beck Gray, 64, was Sunday in Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Joe Camp officiating.

Mrs. Gray died March 15 at her residence. She was retired from Russell Corporation, and was preceded in death by a son, John Lloyd Gray, and her parents, Carl Eugene and Edna Lee Clark Beck. She was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Hanover.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Joe Gray Jr.; two sons, Randy Carl Gray of South Carolina and Billy Joe Gray of Goodwater; one daughter, Debra Carden of Alexander City; two brothers, Wallace Beck of Sylacauga and David Beck of Alexander City; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Heritage Chapel Funeral Home in Alexander City directed the service.

JONNIE GUNTER

TALLADEGA — Jonnie Gunter died March 18 at Citizens BMC.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Usrey Funeral Home.

A.C. JONES

TALLADEGA — Funeral service for A.C. Jones, 87, will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Talladega Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Tony McGowan officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Jones died March 17 at Talladega Health Care Center. He was a native of Clay County and had lived many years in Talladega County. He was retired from Wehadkee Mills and was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church of Talladega where he served as a deacon.

He is survived by his wife, Fannie Bell Jones of Talladega; three daughters, Barbara and husband Gary Coley of Chattanooga, Tenn., Kathleen and husband Clif Hardwick of Atlanta, Ga., and Sylvia and husband Paul Castleberry of Sylacauga; three sons, Jerry and wife Lova Martin Jones of Sierra Vista, Ariz., Gary and wife Jo Ann Miller Jones of Prattville and Carl and wife Elaine Young Jones of Atlanta, Ga.; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Michael Jones, Stephen Jones, David Jones, Zack Jones, Jay Jones, Douglas Jones and Mark Hudgins.

Talladega Funeral Home will direct the service.

LAURA ELIZABETH CHAPMAN JONES

NEW YORK, N.Y. — Laura Elizabeth Chapman Jones, 68, formerly of Talladega, died March 18 at Beth Isreal Hospital in New York, N.Y.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary.

EDNA MEWBOURNE LANGSTON

LINCOLN — Edna Mewbourne Langston died March 18.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City.

MILDRED C. LIGHTSEY

SYLACAUGA — Mildred C. Lightsey, 76, died March 18 at Coosa Valley BMC.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Midway Memory Gardens Funeral Home.

ANNIE M. MOORE

BOAZ — Graveside service for Annie M. Moore, 74, was Friday in Altoona Walnut Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Moore died March 13. She was a resident of Altoona for most of her life, living in the Talladega and Altoona areas for the past five years. She was a Baptist by faith.

She is survived by one son, Danny Roberts of Altoona; four daughters, Elaine Campbell of Anniston, Lynn Dumas of Walnut Grove, Denise Roberts of Winterboro and Christy Armbrester of Talladega; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Family and friends served as pallbearers.

Morgan Funeral Chapel directed the service.

EUGENE STOREY

TALLADEGA — Eugene Storey, 80, died March 18 at Citizens BMC.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Sims Funeral Service.

FRED THOMPSON

TALLADEGA — Fred Thompson died March 18.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Usrey Funeral Home.

MARY LEE WHETSTONE

SYLACAUGA — Funeral service for Mary Lee Whetstone will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Harper Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Freddie Flanigan officiating. Burial will be in Harper Springs Cemetery.

Mrs. Whetstone died March 15 at her residence.

She is survived by five daughters, Rosie L. Davis and Alberta Williams of Sylacauga, Alice Pearson and Vera Pearson of Talladega and Mary Harvey of Oxford; one stepdaughter, Mary Thomas of Talladega; four sons, Robert Pearson Jr. and James Pearson of Sylacauga, Sherman L. Pearson of Childersburg and Jerry Pearson of Anniston; five sisters, Leanna Whetstone and Rosie M. Chambers of Sylacauga, Delois Huntley of Rochester, N.Y., Sarah Canady and Annie Bell Hicks Detroit, Mich.; four brothers, Sherman Burns, James Burns and Harry Burns of Sylacauga and Jewel Burns of Fayetteville; 37 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Sons-in-law, grandsons and nephews will be pallbearers.

Madden's Funeral Home will direct the service.

TOMMY LANE COBB

SYCAMORE — Funeral service for Tommy Lane Cobb, 58, was Tuesday at Curtis and Son Funeral Home North chapel with the Rev. Donnie Fields officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Cobb died March 16 at Coosa Valley BMC. He was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church, was a dock foreman for Floyd and Beasley Transfer Company in Sycamore and was a native of Sycamore.

He is survived by his wife, Rosa Cobb of Sycamore; two daughters, Leigh Anne Davis and husband Graham of Talladega and Joey Cobb of Sycamore; one son, Grady Cobb of Sycamore; one sister, Pat Nelson of Sylacauga; two brothers, Robert Cobb of Houston, Texas, and Ty Cobb of Sylacauga; and two grandchildren, Katie Davis of Talladega and Grayson Davis of Talladega.

Pallbearers were Bob McGrady, David McGrady, Chris McGrady, Scott Holmes, Pat Finn, Mike Crim, Glenn Fields, Carelynn Mizzell, Frenchy Floyd and Chase Gray.

Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel directed the service.

JOHNNIE JOSHUA GUNTER

TALLADEGA — Funeral service for Johnnie Joshua Gunter, 80, will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Usrey Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Steve McVey and the Rev. John Whetstone officiating. Burial will be in Hepzibah Cemetery.

Mr. Gunter died March 17 at Baptist Medical Center Montclair in Birmingham. He was a lifelong resident of Talladega County, was retired from Palm Beach and was a member of Bemiston Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by one son, Gregory Johnnie Gunter.

He is survived by his wife, Louise F. Gunter of Talladega; one daughter, Donna G. Ledbetter of Gadsden; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Sammy Watts, Danny Hall, Danny Gunter, Kenny Holman, Byron Patterson, Mike Endress, Howard David Gunter and Raymond Gunter.

Usrey Funeral Home will direct the service.

LINDA DIANNE ALEXANDER

ALEXANDER CITY — Funeral service for Linda Dianne Alexander will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at First Assembly of God with Pastor Michael Waldrop officiating. Burial will be in Armour's Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from noon until 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Armour's Memorial Funeral Home in Alexander City will direct the service.

ZIMMA GERTRUDE BRONCATI

TALLADEGA — Funeral service for Zimma Gertrude Broncati, 82, will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Cherry Street Church of God with the Rev. Charlie Bolt officiating. Burial will be in Midway Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Broncati died March 18. She was a native of Talladega, lived 18 years in Miami, Fla., and had lived in Talladega since 1965. She was a member of Cherry Street Church of God.

She is survived by one daughter, Donna Jones of Talladega; one son, Wayne Fincher of Talladega; three sisters, Irene Tomlin, Corene Clark and Iola Searcy of Lincoln; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Usrey Funeral Home will direct the service.
