EMMA GRACE GABLE

TALLADEGA — Graveside service for infant Emma Grace Gable will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Midway Memory Gardens with the Rev. Ottis Graves and the Rev. David Kearley officiating.

The infant died March 16 at Baptist Medical Center Montclair in Birmingham.

She is survived by her parents, Reginald and Ellen Janie Gable of Talladega; one sister, Kaleigh Elizabeth Gable of Talladega; one brother, Jackson Tucker Gable of Talladega; her grandparents, Roy and Minnie Gable of Talladega and Joan Hill of Talladega; and her great-grandmother, Dessie Graves of Talladega.

Talladega Funeral Home will direct the service.

JAMES LEROY HILL

CHILDERSBURG — Funeral service for James Leroy Hill, 61, was Tuesday at St. Andrews United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sonny Champion officiating. Graveside service was in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Cullman.

Mr. Hill died March 17 at Baptist Medical Center Montclair in Birmingham. He was a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church and was a friend to everyone.

He is survived by his wife, Marie S. Hill of Childersburg; two sons, Jessie Hill of Akron, Ohio, and Jamie Hill of Childersburg; one daughter, Kathy Dyer and husband John of Summerville, Ga.; his mother, Imogene Hill of Childersburg; one brother, Douglas Hill and wife Dora of Childersburg; one sister, Nell Abbott and husband Harold of Vincent; two grandchildren, Samantha Dyer and Stevie Dyer; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Eric Wilson, Donnie Pruett, Lance Tucker, Howard Fornalt, Dale Melton and Tommy Bounds.

Curtis and Son Funeral Home Childersburg Chapel directed the service.

EDNA ELLEN MEWBOURNE LANGSTON

PELL CITY — Funeral service for Edna Ellen Mewbourne Langston, 67, will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home Chapel in Pell City with the Rev. James Blair officiating. Burial will be in St. Clair Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Langston died March 18. She was a native of Birmingham, a graduate of Hewett Trussville High School and had lived in Pell City since 1973. She was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Sammy Vulich and Richie Barrs, and her parents, Harrison Monroe and Viola Rich Mewbourne.

She is survived by two daughters, Candi Langston Childers and husband Tom of Lincoln and Staci Langston Meads and husband Bob of Alpharetta, Ga.; four sons, Michael Wayne Langston and wife Kathy of Jacksonville, N.C., Timothy Karl Langston and wife Shirley of Blaine, Tenn., Randy Craig Langston and wife Lori of Charleston, S.C., and Brian Keith Langston of Cropwell; one sister, Rose Graham of Pell City; two brothers, Harry Mewbourne of Birmingham and Buddy Mewbourne of Talladega; and grandchildren, Michael Jr., Jeff and Elizabeth Langston, Trina Weems, Tiffany and Matthew Langston, Misty Bush, Lucas and Lauren Langston, Taylor and Lindsey Meads.

Sons and sons-in-law will serve as pallbearers.

Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City will direct the service.

MILDRED C. LIGHTSEY

SYLACAUGA — Funeral service for Mildred C. Lightsey, 76, will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Midway Memory Gardens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. William Gresham officiating. Burial will be in Midway Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Lightsey died March 18 at Coosa Valley BMC. She was a native of Hollins, had been a resident of Sylacauga most of her life, was a homemaker and a member of Mignon Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond Lightsey of Sylacauga; one son, Phil Lightsey of San Diego, Calif.; one sister, Margaret Chappell Ray of Birmingham; one brother, Charles Wheeler Chappell of Sylacauga; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends of the family will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Midway Memory Gardens Funeral Home will direct the service.

FRED RILEY THOMPSON

ALPINE — Graveside service for Fred Riley Thompson, 73, will be Thursday at 1 p.m. in Pine Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Lamar Denkins officiating.

Mr. Thompson died March 18. He was a lifelong resident of Talladega County and retired from Kimberly Clark with 34 years of service. He was a member of Alabama Cattlemen’s Association, was a cattle farmer for many years and was a Methodist by faith. He was preceded in death by a son, Lee Thompson.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Thompson of Jacksonville; one sister, Mary Francis Warlick of Alpine; and one brother, William Casey Thompson of Orlando, Fla.

Pallbearers will be Mack Burt, Bill Burt, Willie Biggers, Walter Thompson, Fred Chandler and Billy Chandler.

Usrey Funeral Home will direct the service.

JAMES DONALD VAUGHN

ALEXANDRIA — Funeral service for James Donald Vaughn, 72, will be Friday at 4 p.m. at St. Jude Catholic Church with Father Joy Chalissery officiating.

Mr. Vaughn died March 18 at NHC Healthcare in Anniston.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Peggy) R. Vaughn of Sylacauga; two daughters, Patricia Moulin of Childersburg and Paula Goodson of Sylacauga; sons, Timothy Vaughn of Huntsville, David Vaughn of Sylacauga, Phillip Vaughn of Alexandria and Steven Vaughn of Hickory, N.C.; brothers, Carl Vaughn of Lineville and Earl Vaughn of Roanoke; and seven grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of East Alabama, P.O. Box 2581, Anniston, Ala., 36202, American Cancer Society of Calhoun County, 1100 Ireland Way, Suite 201, Birmingham, Ala., 35206 or a favorite charity.

K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Crematory in Jacksonville will direct the service.

MARY LEE WHETSTONE

SYLACAUGA — Funeral service for Mary Lee Whetstone will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Harper Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Freddie Flanigan officiating. Burial will be in Harper Springs Cemetery.

Mrs. Whetstone died March 15 at her residence.

She is survived by five daughters, Rosie L. Davis and Alberta Williams of Sylacauga, Alice Pearson and Vera Groce of Talladega and Mary Jane Pearson of Oxford; one stepdaughter, Mary Thomas of Sylacauga; four sons, Robert Pearson Jr. and James Pearson of Sylacauga, Sherman L. Pearson of Childersburg and Jerry Pearson of Anniston; five sisters, Leanna Whetstone and Rosie M. Chambers of Sylacauga, Delois Huntley of Rochester, N.Y., Sarah Canady and Annie Bell Hicks Detroit, Mich.; four brothers, Sherman Burns, James Burns and Harry Burns of Sylacauga and Jewel Burns of Fayetteville; 37 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Sons-in-law, grandsons and nephews will be pallbearers.

Madden's Funeral Home will direct the service.

CHARLOTTE ANN BEAN

ALABASTER — Funeral service for Charlotte Ann Bean, 57, will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Ridout's Southern Heritage with Greg Tucker officiating. Burial will be in Old Field Cemetery in Sylacauga.

Ms. Bean died March 21. Originally from Childersburg, she was a member of Bluff Park Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, three brothers, a nephew and a brother-in-law.

She is survived by two sisters, Helen Ferguson of Birmingham and Linda Burell and husband Andy of Pelham; one brother, Carl Bean of Childersburg; 10 nieces and nephews and 11 great-nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Bluff Park Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Joe Ferguson, Tim Allen, Steve Ferguson, Allen Bean, Jeff Burell and Al Crumpton.

Ridout's Southern Heritage in Pelham will direct the service.

ANNIE BONNIE BOLTON

TALLADEGA — Funeral service for Annie Bonnie Bolton, 104, will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Curtis and Son Funeral Home North chapel with the Rev. Max Briggs officiating. Burial will be in Millerville Cemetery.

Mrs. Bolton died March 22 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester B. Bolton; and five children, Chlois McInnish, LaUna Bailey, Eddith Reed, Burwell (Buck) Bolton and William Nathan (Punk) Bolton.

She is survived by three daughters, Ella M. Jenkins of Winterboro, Guilda Gwathney of Sylacauga and Patsy Moreland of Buchanon, Ga.; one son, Bobby Bolton of Trussville; 20 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family will accept flowers or donations may be made to Mrs. Bonnie's Bouquet at Winterboro Baptist Church.

Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel will direct the service.

ALEX CULPEPPER

SYLACAUGA — Funeral service for Alex (Old Timer) Culpepper will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Greater New Hope Baptist Church in Sylacauga with the Rev. Doyal Cook officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Sylacauga.

Mr. Culpepper died March 15. He was born April 28, 1926, in Thomasville to Alex Culpepper Sr. and Mealie Hosa Culpepper. He retired from the Shell Cast Company. He was preceded in death by three sisters and eight brothers.

He is survived by three daughters, Johnnie Mae Munford, Mary Kate Hale and Mealie Ann Wilkerson of Sylacauga; 10 sons, James Kendrick of Chicago, Ill., Alex Culpepper Jr. of Thomasville, Wayne Culpepper, Terry Culpepper, Jerry Days, Sam Kendrick, Johnnie Kendrick, Robert Days, Billy Isom of Sylacauga and James Isom of Buffalo, N.Y.; one brother, Moses Culpepper of Mobile; one sister, Elsie Greene of Spooner, Wisc.; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives.

Grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Friends of the family will serve as flowerbearers.

Community Funeral Home will direct the service.

FANNIE B. EDWARDS

ALEXANDER CITY — Fannie B. Edwards died March 22 at her residence.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Armour's Memorial Funeral Home.

HELEN LENOR WRIGHT

MUNFORD — Funeral service for Helen Lenor Wright, 43, will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Mathew's Episcopal Church with Father John Henry officiating. Burial will be in Chesnut Hill Cemetery in Eldred, Pa.

Mrs. Wright died March 21 at her residence. She was a native of Eldred, Pa., had lived in Talladega the past seven years and was employed 14 years by Federal Corrections Institute.

She is survived by one daughter, Melissa Wright of Munford; one son, Timothy Wright of Bradford, Pa.; one grandchild; four sisters, Cyndee Hudson of Ocean City, Md., Marjorie Kervin of Duke Center, Pa., Brenda Snow of Duke Center, Pa., and Diane Williams of Buford, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Usrey Funeral Home will direct the service.
