JAMES BOYD PRICE SR.

SYLACAUGA — A celebration of Life for James Boyd (Jim) Price Sr. was Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Sylacauga First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Jim Stanford officiating. Visitation was at the church at 10 a.m.

Mr. Price died Dec. 19 at Coosa Valley Medical Center following a long illness.

Mr. Price was formerly of Vestavia Hills and was born in Cooper, Texas, to Ruel and Bessie Price, both deceased. He attended Pearl River Jr. College on a football scholarship, and then transferred to University of Southern Mississippi, where he graduated with a degree in chemistry.

He retired from Kvaerner John Brown Engineering firm as vice president of sales in 1994 after a long career in the engineering industry.

He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of Kappa Alpha Order. He was active in many organizations, including advisor for Junior Achievement, Jaycees, USO, Boy Scouts, Shriners, Gideon, and served on the board for the Salvation Army of Sylacauga. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder and enjoyed working with the youth. He had a passion for life and loved his family, his friends, fishing and gardening. He brought joy, love and laughter to so many and will always be missed.

He is survived by his wife, Jane Price of Sylacauga; sons, Jim and Tammy Price of Franklin, Tenn., and Bill Price of Birmingham; grandsons, Bo, Hunter and Carter; brothers, Bobby and Bill of Louisiana; sister, Sylvia Price from Colorado; and many nephews and nieces.

Memorials may be sent to First Presbyterian Church, 100 S. Norton, Ave., or to the Salvation Army of Sylacauga.

Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel directed the service.

HELLON B. PRINCE

LEEDS - Funeral service for Hellon B. Prince, 82, was Tuesday, Dec. 21, at 11 a.m. at Curtis and Son Funeral Home Childersburg chapel with the Rev. Don Graves officiating. Burial was in Greenhill Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Prince died Dec. 19 at Medical Center East. She was a Baptist by faith.

She is survived by her husband, Delmas S. Prince of Leeds; daughter, Frankie P. Adams and husband Ray of Leeds; sister, Alphie Ellyott of Winston County; five granddaughters; and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Clay Smith, Eric McLain, Eddie McLain, Keith Hobbs, Mark Hobbs and Brent Hobbs.

The family will accept flowers or memorials may be made to Self Help of Childersburg.

Curtis and Son Funeral Home Childersburg Chapel directed the service.

CATHELENE HAYES WILLIAMS

SYLACAUGA - Funeral service for Cathelene Hayes Williams, 76, will be Thursday, Dec. 23, at 2 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home chapel in Sylacauga with the Rev. Lori Carden officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Mrs. Williams died Dec. 20 in Sylacauga. She was married 59 years and was a 50-year member of Mignon Baptist Church where she was a member of the Faith Sunday School Class. She also taught Sunday school and was a nursery worker. She worked as a nurse for Dr. Charles Camp for 32 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Ollie Hayes and her brother, Hubert (Bunky) Hayes.

She is survived by her husband, Fredrick P. Williams of Sylacauga; daughter, Brenda Howell and husband Mack of Sylacauga; son, Fredie P. Williams and wife Kitty of Pell City; brother, James Harold Hayes and wife Tommie Lou of Birmingham; granddaughters, Cathelene (Catie) Simpkins and husband David, Tina Burton and husband Charlie, Kristen Seals and husband Wayne, Randi Williams and fiancé Chris and Mindy Williams; great-grandchildren, William Simpkins, Hayden Simpkins, Cole Burton, Libba Burton, Olivia Seals and Parker Seals; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will accept flowers or contributions may be made to the Praise Team at First United Methodist Church, 105 E. Spring St., Sylacauga, Ala., 35150.

Pallbearers will be David Foote, Bill Hare, David Wood, Brian Allen, John Hardy, James Culberson and I.D. Chappell.

Honorary pallbearers will be Vera Honea, Mary Evans, Jean Camp, Frances Payne, Mary Culberson, Lois Ivey, Pearl Isbell, Eulene Machen, Sara Kelly, Louise Edwards, Edna Hickman, Betty Walton, Marie Scoggins, Virginia Shunk and Myrtice Connell.

Radney-Smith Funeral Home in Sylacauga will direct the service.

CURTIS WILLIAM BRADDOCK

HOLLINS, Ala. — Curtis "Fuzzy" William Braddock, 47, of Hollins, Alabama, died Sunday, December 19, 2004, after a long battle with diabetes. and related illnesses near El Paso, Texas, while on vacation.

He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, September 14, 1957, to Princess Louise Wilson Braddock James and the late Curtis William Braddock, Sr.

Fuzzy was a truck driver by profession and had most recently worked for Tyson Foods, Oxford, Alabama, until he became disabled several years ago.

His profession was chosen because he loved to travel and has been to almost all of the lower 48 states. In addition, he made a journey to Alaska in 1998 on vacation. Of all the states he visited, he loved the desert southwestern states best.

He made annual trips to Texas, New Mexico and Arizona and as often as he could while he was still working and on most occasions loved to take family members especially his mother with him who shares his love of the southwest.

While on his trips out West, especially to Texas, he loved to eat at his favorite restaurants, Whataburger and Taco Cabana. Throughout his adult years Fuzzy had lived in Anniston, AL, Houston, TX, Lake Placid, FL, and Hollins, AL and never met a stranger.

He eagerly sought out new friends and would talk to everyone.

He was a kind and sweet person to all and very generous with friend and family alike.

We will all miss him very much. Fuzzy is survived by his mother, Princess Louise Wilson Braddock James and stepfather, Jimmie James of Meridian, MS, sister, Jo Ann Braddock Herndon of Hot Springs, AR, brothers James Curtis Braddock of Hollins, AL, William Ray Braddock of Austin, TX and his special neice, Sonya Chrelle Rogers Weiss of New Albany, MS. In addition, he is survived by aunts, Martha Jean Wilson Parchinsky of Hollins, AL, Eva Christina Wilson Pounds of Onalaska, TX and uncles Roland James Wilson of Liberty, TX, Aaron R. Wilson of Venus, FL and his travelling buddy and friend, uncle Jonnie Earl Addison Wilson of Hollins, AL.

Fuzzy enjoyed a very close friendship with all of his uncles. Fuzzy was preceded in death by brothers, Kenneth Raburn Braddock, Curtis "Junior" William Braddock, Jr., Gertie Mae Braddock Leveritt and Dorothy Dean Braddock Moates, uncle Vernon Wilson and recently his special nephew Brian Glenn Williford.

Pallbearers are to be announced later.

While Fuzzy belonged to no organized religion or church, he did believe in heaven, Jesus and God.

He looked forward to going to heaven and the rapture of that meeting where there would be no more suffering and pain.

The family will receive visitors Friday, December 24th, 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home, 310 N Elm Avenue, Sylacauga, AL.

Funeral service will be at Hollins Baptist Church, Hollins, AL, Sunday, December 26th at 2:00 p.m. with viewing one hour before the service.

Burial will follow in Hollins Cemetery, Hollins, AL.

Fellowship will be held immediately after the service at the Hollins Club House, Hollins, AL. Reverend Ray Cooper officiating.

MARY ELIZABETH KEEL

SYLACAUGA - Funeral service for Mary Elizabeth Keel, 73, will be Thursday, Dec. 23, at 2 p.m. at Curtis and Son Funeral Home North chapel with the Rev. Don Grice officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Keel died Dec. 20 at Coosa Valley Medical Center.

She is survived by sons, Melvin Keel of Eclectic, James Keel of Sylacauga, Johnny Keel of Panama City, Fla., and Mike Keel of Sylacauga; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Sims, Josh Woods, Chris McDaniel, Barry Milstead, John Cochran, B.J. Bastian and Brian Bastian.

Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel will direct the service.

JEWEL USREY LONG

SYLACAUGA - Funeral service for Jewel Usrey Long, 81, will be Friday, Dec. 24, at 11 a.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home chapel in Sylacauga with the Rev. David Shafer officiating. Burial will be in Talladega Springs Cemetery in Talladega Springs.

Mrs. Long died Dec. 21 at her residence. She was married 64 years and was a member of Union Springs Baptist Church where she served as secretary and treasurer for 36 years.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas E. Long of Marble Valley; son, Joe E. Long of Sylacauga; daughters, Vivian L. Grice and husband Ray of Hollins and Shelia Roberson and husband Terry of Talladega; grandchildren, Nicole Wilson and husband Demond and Jake Grice and wife April; and great-grandchildren, Cody Wilson, Kim Wilson, Shay Roberson and Trey Roberson.

The family will accept flowers or contributions may be made to Union Springs Baptist Church, 3090 Marble Valley Road, Sylacauga, Ala., 35151.

Pallbearers will be Jake Grice, Bobby Usrey, Demond Wilson, Jeremy Baird, Terry Roberson and Harold Jones.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Radney-Smith Funeral Home in Sylacauga will direct the service.

PELL CITY - Lucille McGowan, 93, died Dec. 22 at her residence.

SYLACAUGA — John W. Moon, 63, of 332 St. John St., died Dec. 21.

ALEXANDER CITY - Elizabeth Ransaw died Dec. 21 at Russell Medical Center.

BOBBIE N. SNOW

MUNFORD - Funeral service for Bobbie Nell Snow, 83, was Monday, Dec. 20, at 1 p.m. at Munford United Methodist Church with Pastor Tim Saccuuci officiating. Burial was in Munford Cemetery.

Mrs. Snow died Dec. 18 at Citizens BMC in Talladega. She was a member of the Munford United Methodist Church, the Munford Homemakers Club and the Munford United Methodist Crafters. She was preceded in death by her husband, Artis Ray Snow; her son, Artis Ray Snow Jr.; a son-in-law, Donald R. Moon; three sisters; and two brothers.

She is survived by daughters, Emily Dearman and husband Joe, Judith C. Moon and Bobbie R. Lackey; daughter-in-law, Cathy M. Snow; sisters, Dorothy Young and Sally Martin; grandchildren, Terry V. Dearman, Amber Olson, Jimmy S. Lackey, Gordon R. Moon, Seth Snow, Josh Snow and Shane Scales; and great-grandchildren, Jordan Lackey, Kaleb Lackey, Chelsea Olson, Emilee Olson, Erin Nicole Olson, Mason Moon and Haley Skaggs.

Pallbearers were Terry Dearman, Jimmy S. Lackey, Gordon R. Moon, Seth Snow, Josh Snow and Michael Parker.

Honorary pallbearers were members of the Mary Magdelene Sunday School Class of Munford United Methodist Church and the members of the Munford Homemakers Club.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Munford United Methodist Church.

Miller Funeral Home directed the service.
