Bachus

Services for Lois Mary Bachus, 86, of Delta will be 2 p.m. today at Open Door Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Minter offi-ciating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Clay County with Dryden Funeral Home of Heflin in charge. The family will re-ceive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the home of Mrs. Bachus’ daughter, Sara Hill, at 1939 Highway 9, Delta.

Mrs. Bachus died Saturday at Lineville Health and Rehabilitation.

Survivors include three daughters, Sara Hill and Martha Browning, both of Delta, and Lucy Wilson of Lincoln; five sons, Mack Junior Kemp of Heflin, Johnny Bachus of Huntsville, Willie Bachus of Delta, Gary Bachus of Bremen and Charles Bachus of Delta; 29 grandchildren and 31 great-granchildren.

Pallbearers will be Kelly Adams, Richie Adams, Jason Bachus, Logan Bachus, Daniel Browning, David Browning and Mi-chael Hill.

Honorary pallbearers will be the nurses and aides of Lineville Health and Rehabilitation.

Mrs. Bachus, a native of Calhoun County, was a resident of Cleburne County for most of her life and a member of Open Door Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hiram Harris Bachus, and two sons, Alvin Kemp and Joe Bachus.

Bray

Services for William Bray, 83, of Anniston will be announced by Chapel Hill Funeral Home.

Mr. Bray died Sunday at his home.

Brown

Services for Marilyn Brown of Anniston will be announced by Gray Brown Service Mortuary and Crematory.

Mrs. Brown died Saturday at her home.

Burdette

Services for Agnes Burdette, 88, of Oxford will be 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne Eden officiating. Burial will follow in Oxford Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 tonight at the fu-neral home.

Mrs. Burdette died Sunday at Beverly Health Care.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Billie Sue and Larry Hoots; two sons, John “Bud” Burdette and his wife Tamba, and Jesse Burdette Jr. and his wife Sandra, all of Oxford; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ray Turner, Mike Burdette, Jackie Stovall, Larry Hoots, Cecil Martin and Joe Burdette.

Mrs. Burdette was a native of Cedar Town, Ga., and a resident of Oxford for most of her life. She was a member of Salt Creek Baptist Church and was retired from Indian Head Thread Company. She was preceded in death by her parents John L. and Leona Jackson Cooper; her husband, Jessie Burdette; and two grandsons, Ronald Tinney and Darrell Ezell.

Clark

Services for Merrill Douglass, 95, of Oxford will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Miller Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Cobb officiating. Burial will follow in the Oxford Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Clark is survived by his daughter, Beverly Moseley Kennedy of Oxford; a brother, Frank Clark, and his wife Melda, of Saks; three grandsons and their wives, Anthony and Christi Moseley, Christopher and Regina Moseley and Mitchell and Shonda Moseley; and five great-grandsons.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Moseley, Christopher Moseley, Mitchell Moseley, Jerry Pettus, David Smith and Danny McWilliams.

Mr. Clark was retired from the state Highway Department and was a member of Oxford Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by seven sisters and three brothers.

Groce

Services for Danny Groce, 58, of Anniston will be announced by Model City Mortuary.

Groves

Services for Charles Groves, 80, of Eastman, Ga., will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Benefield Funeral Home Chapel in Ashland. Burial will follow at Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery in Cleburne County. The family will receive friends from 5-8 tonight.

Mr. Groves died Saturday at Memorial Hospital in Savannah, Ga.

Hughes

Services for Mearman Hughes, 83, of Blue Mountain will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Oak Ridge Baptist Church with Revs. Norris Brooks and Marlon Greenwood officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 tonight at Gray Brown Service Mortuary and Crematory.

Mr. Hughes died Sunday in Oxford.

Survivors include his wife Idella C. Hughes of Blue Mountain; a daughter Kay Thompson of Blue Mountain; and two grand-children, Tanya Nicole Thompson and Larry Coe Thompson.

Pallbearers will be Stanley Clark, Robert Clark, James Clark, Larry Thomas, Gary McDonald, Carlton Hughes.

Mr. Hughes was a lifelong resident of Calhoun County and was a Baptist. He retired from Anniston Ordnance Depot after 31 years of service. He was preceded in death by his son, Larry Hughes; his parents, J. T. and Eula Hughes of Iron City, a sister, Myrtis Walker, and a brother, Billy Hughes.

McClellan

Services for Ruby McClellan, 71, of Alexandria, will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Gray Brown Funeral Service Chapel with Revs. Frank Haney, Ellis McDill and Mike Andrews officiating. Burial will follow in Post Spring Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 tonight at the funeral home..

Mrs. McClellan died Saturday at her home.

Survivors include a daughter, Brenda Nunnally of Alexandria; two sisters, Nellie Brown of Saks and Nancy Shoemaker of Brandon, Miss.; and two grandsons, Joshua James Williams and Justin Eugene Williams.

Pallbearers will be Mrs. McClellan’s nephews.

Mrs. McClellan, a Mississippi native, was a resident of Calhoun County for 45 years and a member of New Bethel Baptist Church in Jacksonville. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Eugene McClellan, a son, Donald Eugene Simmons, a sister, and a brother. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to a favorite charity.

Nance

Services for Margaret Ann Nance, 65, of Lincoln, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Chapel Hill Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ken Bowman officiating. Burial will follow at the Nance family cemetery in Ohatchee. The family will receive friends from 6-8 tonight.

Mrs. Nance died Saturday at University of Alabama-Birmingham Hospital.

Survivors include two daughters, Anita Tuders of Lincoln and Rita Doss of Woodland; three sons, Gary and Dennis Nance, both of Ohatchee, and Larry Nance of Talladega; three brothers, William Earl Lehr of Ohatchee, Milton Lehr of Alexandria and David Lehr of Anniston; nine grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Pallbearers will be Randall Doss, Frank Norton, Benny Jones, Greg Bearden, Edsell Carter and Garrett Cozad.

Mrs. Nance, a native of Calhoun County, was a resident of Talladega County and a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Gene Nance; two grandchildren and a daughter-in-law, Bobbie Nance.

Ragsdale

Services for Nellie Ruth Ragsdale, 74, of Alexandria, will be 11 a.m., Tuesday in Miller Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne Woods officiating. Burial will follow in Forestlawn Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Ragsdale died Sunday at Stringfellow Memorial Hospital.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Belinda and Gary Webb of Anniston; her son and daughter-in-law, Garry and Debbie Ragsdale; a brother, Kenneth Ray Vinson of Welborn; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Barry Britt, Jerry Cruse, Phil Cruse, Carl Cruse, Henry Britt, Billy O’Brien and Billy Sims.

Mrs. Ragsdale was a resident of Oxford for most of her life and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Claudie Vinson, a sister, Nancy O’Brien and her husband, Edward P. Ragsdale Jr.

Roberts

Services for Lucille Roberts, 90, of Anniston will be 10 this morning at Anniston Memorial Gardens with Rev. Krameon Mar-tin and Jack Jenkins officiating. The family will receive friends from 8-9 this morning at Gray Brown Service Mortuary and Cre-matory.

Mrs. Roberts died Saturday in Anniston.

Survivors include a son, Howard E. Roberts of Nashville, Tenn.; a daughter, Ruth Mullinax of Anniston; a brother, Martin Helton of Millington, Tenn.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Roberts was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County and retired from Blue Mountain Industries. She was pre-ceded in death by her husband Howard B. Roberts.

Ross

Graveside services for Irene V. Ross, 82, of Jacksonville will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens with K.L. Brown Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Ross died Saturday at Jacksonville Medical Center.

Survivors include her son, Ivan Noel Ross, and his wife Patricia of Jacksonville; two granddaughters, Shelia R. Lynch and her husband Philip D. Lynch of Atlanta, and Kelly R. Shanks and her husband Russell of Wellington; two step-grandchildren, Sherry Bonds Valentine and Michael Bonds, both of Jacksonville; and seven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Ross, a lifelong resident of Calhoun County, was a retired lunchroom workers at Weaver High School and a member of Iron City United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thermon Ross, and a son, Jerry David Ross.

Turley

Services for Ralph D. Turley, 50, of Oxford will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home Chapel with Ron Ethridge of-ficiating. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home.

Mr. Turley died Saturday at University of Alabama-Birmingham Hospital.

Zackery

Services for Lewis Zackery, 94, of Anniston will be announced by Anniston Funeral Service.

Mr. Zackery died Saturday at Regional Medical Center.
