ANNISTON - Services for James William "Jay" Boozer, 42, will be Wednesday, 3 p.m., at The Adams Funeral Services Chapel. Visitation will be tonight 5-9 p.m. Mr. Boozer died Sunday at RMC.

Brady

ANNISTON - Services for Robert Ernest Brady, 81, of Anniston will be Wednesday, March 23, 2 p.m., at Parker Memorial Baptist Church Christian Life Center, with Dr. Billy Harris officiating and Brown & Kughn Memory Chapel in charge. Burial will be at Forestlawn Gardens. Visitation will be tonight, 5-7 p.m. at Brown & Kughn Memory Chapel. Mr. Brady died Sunday at his residence.

Survivors include his spouse, Lucille Yates Brady of Anniston; daughter, Delores Brady Busenlehner and husband Dan, of Austin, Tex.; son, Daniel Robert Brady and wife Teresa of Oxford; sister Edith McCord and husband Leon of Columbiana, Ala.; brother Warren H. Brady and wife Adalene of Oxford; four grandchildren, Laurie Darilek and husband Craig of San Antonio, Tex., Brian Busenlehner and wife Christie of San Antonio, Tex., Mark Brady and wife Natalin of Maylene, Ala., Angela Brady of Oxford; four great-grandchildren, MacKenzie Darilek, Avery Darilek, Skyler Brady and Brady Busenlehner.

Pallbearers will be nephews and grandsons of Mr. Brady. Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of Parker Memorial Baptist; Mike Lipscomb; Hulon Ogle; Dr. Warren Sarrell; Dr. Charles Martin. Mr. Brady was a native of Randolph County where he lived during his early life. He moved to Calhoun County in 1946. He was a member of the Parker Memorial Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for 49 years and also taught Sunday School. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #500 and served on the Board of Directors for the Fellowship House, where he taught Sunday School for twelve years. He was a former member of Northside Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School Teacher and in the choir. He was the owner and operator of Brady Barber Shop for 45 years. He was a WWII veteran.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to New Beacon, Inc., PO Box 2581, Anniston, AL 36202 or Restoring God's House, 1205 Quintard, Ave., Anniston, AL 36201.

Brown

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - Services for Mr. Arlie "Bill" R. Brown, 83, were held at Ott -Laughlin Funeral Home, Auburndale, FL, yesterday. Mr. Brown passed away Saturday at Heart of Florida Hospital.

Crabtree

Ashland - Funeral services for Mrs. Sleety Crabtree will be Wednesday, 11 am, at Benefield Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Chandler Springs Assembly of God Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 5:30 to 8 p.m. and until service time. Benefield Ashland is in charge.

Crowder

CLANTON - Services for Randy Gerald Crowder, 52, will be today, 2PM at Fellowship Baptist Church. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 1 p.m at the church. Quattlebaum Funeral Home is in charge.

Foreman

PELL CITY - Services for Willie Foreman, 28, will be announced by Rest In Peace Funeral Services in Talladega. Mr. Foreman died Monday, March 21, at St. Clair Regional In Pell City, Ala.

Gaston

Sylacauga - Funeral services for Charles Ware Gaston, Jr. will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 23, at First United Methodist Church of Sylacauga. Mr. Gaston, a prominent Sylacauga pharmacist for 50 years and highly respected in his community, died at his residence, 1856 Pleasant Ridge Dr. in Sylacauga on Saturday, March 19, at 8:25 p.m., following a three year illness. He was born December 2, 1928 to Mary Gilliland Gaston and Charles Ware Gaston, Sr., also a well -known and beloved pharmacist in Sylacauga for over 20 years. His father died in 1947 and his mother in 1970.

Mr. Gaston was the owner of Peoples Drug Company and later Medical Center Pharmacy, beginning in 1952 until his retirement in 1993. While serving as a First Lt. on active duty as a Medical Service officer in Korea from 1950 until 1952, his mother assisted in operating the business along with the late Tom Peters. A 1950 graduate of the School of Pharmacy at Alabama Polytechnic Institute (now Auburn University), Mr. Gaston was married to the former Annette Evans of Anniston, a 1949 graduate of The University of Alabama, who came to Sylacauga upon graduation as a member of the fabric design department of Avondale Mills. They are the parents of three sons, Charles Ware Gaston, III (wife the former Donna Watkins) of Birmingham, Joel Milton Gaston (wife the former Jan Fowler) of Monticello, GA. and Maury Douglas Gaston (wife the former Nancy Runyan) of Birmingham. Mr. Gaston attended Sylacauga public schools through the eighth grade before enrolling at Castle Heights military Academy in Lebanon, Ten. where he graduated in 1946.

At Auburn, Mr. Gaston was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity, and active in fund raising for a new fraternity house. A member of the first Auburn Pharmacy Advisory Council in 1971, he also served as a vice president of th Alabama Pharmaceutical Association in the 1960's, was a member of the Auburn Travelers and a life member of the Auburn University Alumni Association. He was active in numerous community endeavors including co -chairman of the Sylacauga Heart Association; a 15 -year member in 1968 of the Sylacauga Country Club serving as President in 1980; member, Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce, and South Talladega chapter of Auburn Alumni serving as a Chairman of its scholarship committee. He was an accomplished pilot and served as a member of the Sylacauga Airport Board for 15 years, three years as a chairman.

Active as a life -long member of the First United Methodist Church of Sylacauga, he served two terms as chairman of its administrative board; two terms as chairman of the finance committee; Board of Trustees three years, chairman for two years; staff -parish relations committee for two years; long range planning committee, serving as chairman, and a co -chairman of wills and legacies. He and Mrs. Gaston were members of the Hope Sunday School Class for more than 50 years. Survivors in addition to his three sons include grandsons, Kevin Marshall Gaston and Kyle Alan Gaston, both students at Auburn University, and grand -daughters Mary Frances Gaston and Alison Elizabeth Gaston, of Birmingham.

Officiating at the funeral service will be Dr. Todd Henderson, minister at First United Methodist Church, and the Rev. Bob Gunn, former minister, of Athens, Alabama. Visitation will be tonight from 4-7 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home with interment at Evergreen Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Sylacauga, 105 East Spring St., Sylacauga, AL 35150 or to the Charles Ware Gaston, Jr. endowment scholarship, College of Engineering, Auburn University, 107 Ramsey Hall, Auburn University, AL 36849. Active pallbearers are Mayor Sam Wright, Jim Green, Joe Allen, Ronnie Craddock, Clint Collins, III and Bill Withus. Radney-Smith Funeral Home will direct the service.

Gibson

ANNISTON - Funeral services for Mrs. Lucille Woods Gibson, 88, of Anniston will be today at 12 noon, at 17th Street Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. N.Q. Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in Eden Hills Cemetery in Anniston, with Ervin Funeral Chapel in charge. The body will be at the church 11 a.m. Mrs. Gibson died Monday at Beckwood Manor Nursing Home in Anniston.

Survivors include a niece, Rose Jones of Anniston, a nephew, Joseph Wood of Anniston, a special friend, Carolyn Oakley of Atlanta, Ga. and other cousins, relatives and friends. Mrs. Gibson was preceded in death by her husband and her son. The family will receive flowers at the funeral home.

Gunn

ANNISTON - Services for infant Lawrence Cazzell Gunn, will be announced by Ervin Funeral Chapel. The infant boy died Saturday at Regional Medical Center in Anniston.

Hann

LINEVILLE - Services for John Edward Hann, 63, of 34 Hann St. will be announced by Simms Funeral Service. Mr. Hann died Saturday at his home.

Lipham

WEDOWEE - Services for Lila Marie Lipham, 81, will be Wednesday, 2 p.m. at First Baptist, Wedowee. Visitation is tonight, 3-8 p.m. Benefield Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Lipham is survived by her husband, Leonard Lipham of Wedowee; two daughters and two sons.

McMichael

ANNISTON - Funeral services for John Henry McMichael (Buger), 79, of Anniston, will be Wednesday, March 23 at 2:00 PM at North Ledbetter Baptist Church with the Reverend David Brooks and Mark Hammett officiating. Burial will be at Pine Grove Cemetery with Gray Brown -Service Mortuary & Crematory in charge. Visitation will be at the church from Monday 5:00 PM until service on Wednesday. Mr. Michael will lie at the church until burial. Mr. McMichael died Sunday at Stringfellow Memorial Hospital.

Survivors include two sons, Horace McMichael and his wife Mary of Anniston, Johnny McMichael and his wife Dawn of Heflin; three daughters, Lula Daniel and her husband Steve of Weaver, Patricia Sanders of Anniston, and Linda Coleman and her husband Tommy of Heflin; two brothers, James McMichael and Seaborne McMichael both of Anniston; two sisters, Sue Milstead of Anniston and Rena McKinzey of Kansas City Missouri; eleven grandchildren, twelve great -grandchildren, and two great -great -grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family. Mr. McMichael was a native of Talladega County and life long resident of Anniston. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII, retired from U.S. Pipe, and was a member of North Ledbetter Baptist Church. Mr. McMichael was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Blankenship McMichael and two grandson's; John Daniel of Weaver and Thomas Woodard of Anniston

Meacham

ROANOKE - Funeral services for Sara Elender Meacham, 93, will be today, 11 a.m. at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel. Quattlebaum Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mintz

READS MILL - Funeral services for Robert "Bob" Mintz, 69, of Reads Mill Community, who died Saturday, will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, at Crestwood Chapel with the Revs. Loyd Watkins and Phillip Battles officiating. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge. Mr. Mintz owned and operated Glencoe Printing Company. He helped organize Brannon Springs Baptist Church where he served as a charter deacon. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict with the rank of SP4. He loved to garden, fish, nature watch and antique tractors. He was a Mason with the Duke Lodge-Wellington.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Martha "Mot" Mintz, daughter: Angela (Gerome) Barron, son: Robert Anthony (Linda) Mintz, grandchildren: Cody Ryan and Jordan Kyle Barron, sisters: Geraldine McCauley and Carolyn (Delano) Upton, and a host of nieces, nephews and loving friends.

Pallbearers will be son: Anthony Mintz; friends Milton Quinn, Norman Hindman, Doug Walker, Clay Conner, Roy Wagon, Jerry Elser, Harold Ponder, Joe Elrod and Tommy Norton. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. K.J. Shah, Willie Watts, P.A., Dr. Dinesh Pamar, 3rd floor Nurses and CCU Nurses at Riverview Regional Hospital and staff. Vernon LeCroy, Claris Mattox, Clyde Day and Gershon Weinburg. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight.

Mize

WEAVER - Services for Wincie "Granny Gray" Mize, 94, of Weaver will be announced by Chapel Hill Funeral Home, of Anniston. Mrs. Mize died Monday at her residence.

Pointer

GOODWATER - Services for Georgia Lee Pointer will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Ashland City Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight, 5-8 p.m. and until service time. Benefield Funeral Home of Lineville is in charge.

Slaughter

ANNISTON - Services for Jake Slaughter, 94 of Anniston, will be announced by Anniston Funeral Services. Mr. Slaughter died Monday at Regional Medical Center in Anniston.

Stallings

ROANOKE - Services for Effie Lene Stallings, 82, will be Wednesday, 11 a.m., at Highway First Cong. Meth. Church. Visitation will be tonight 4-8 p.m. Benefield Funeral Home is in charge.

Surrett

PIEDMONT - Services for Keith Surrett, 39, of Piedmont will be Wednesday, at 3 p.m., at Thompson Funeral Home, with Pastor John Henderson officiating. Burial will follow at Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 -8 tonight at the funeral home. Mr. Surrett died Sunday at Jacksonville Medical Center.

Survivors include a daughter, Stephanie Gibson of Centre; his mother, Pearlie Taylor Surrett of Piedmont; two sisters, Vicki Gowens and her husband, Rodney and Jan Berry and her husband, David all of Piedmont; a grandson, Christopher Kelley of Centre, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Shane Messer, Heith Simpson, Brian Taylor, Billy Ray Studdard, Henry Taylor and Jeff Smith. Mr. Surrett was a native and lifelong resident of Piedmont. He was employed for several years in the healthcare field, loved spending time with his grandson and was an avid Loretta Lynn fan. He was preceded in death by his father, Jim Surrett and a brother, Ricky Surrett.

Thompson

HEFLIN - Services for Noel "Doc" Thompson will be Wednesday, 11 a.m, at Edwardsville Baptist Church. Visitation will be tonight, 6-8 p.m. at Dryden Funeral Home in Helfin.

Tucker

ROANOKE - Services for Mr. Clarence Tucker, Sr., 62, of Roanoke will be at Thursday, March 24, 2 p.m., at Wehadkee Missionary Baptist Church in Roanoke, AL, wit the Rev. Elijah Jackson, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Wehadkee Church Cemetery. Mr. Tucker passed away Sunday, March 20, at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange, Ga.

Survivors include his wife, Farris Tucker of Roanoke; three sons, Clarence Tucker, Jr. of Roanoke, Eugene Tucker of Roanoke, Ricky Tucker and wife Sherry of LaFayette, Ala.; a daughter, Angelia Pertillo and husband Robert of Columbus, GA; three step -sons, George Shears, Jr. and wife Danielle, Gregory Lamar Shears, Jeremy Shears; five step -daughters, Shirley Shears, Sherry Martin and husband Tommy, Sabrina Shears, Brittney Tucker, Whitney Tucker and a brother, Bennie and wife Elnora, all of Roanoke. Mr. Tucker, was preceded in death by his mother Doris Tucker, his father, Eugene Tucker, two daughters, Janice Tucker and Rhonda Tucker, a son, Daryl Tucker, two brothers, Larry Tucker and Robert Tucker. Public viewing hours will be observed at Clark Memorial Funeral Service, Roanoke from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., Wednesday, March 23. The body will be at the church one hour before the services.

Services for the late Mr. Tucker, St. are being provided by Clark Memorial Funeral Service, Roanoke.

WILLIAMS

ANNISTON - Services for Audrey Estes Williams, 80, will be Wednesday, 11 a.m., at Greenbrier Church of Christ. Visitation will be at the church two hours prior to the services. Brown & Kughn Memory Chapel is in charge.

Williams

Fruithurst - Services for Mary Ellen Williams, 82, of Fruithurst will be today, 2 p.m. at Camp Creek Baptist Church, with the Rev. Chester Pesnell, the Rev. James Owen and the Rev. Darryl Robinson officiating. Burial will be in adjoining Cemetery, with Dryden Funeral Home in charge. The body will be at the church one hour prior to the services. Mrs. Williams died Sunday, March 20, at Cleburne Nursing Home in Heflin.

Survivors include a son, Noel Williams and wife Pat, of Heflin; three daughters, Joan Reid and husband Ted, of Piedmont, Linda Robinson and husband Jim, of Muscadine, Jane Hulsey of Tallapoosa; a sister, Flora McEllen of Dallas, Ga.; a brother, Leo Holland of Woodland, Ala.; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be her nephews. Mrs. Williams was a native and lifelong resident of Cleburne County and a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by three sisters, three brothers and her husband, Troy Williams.

Young

MARIETTA, Ga. - Services for Betty J. Young, 68, of Marietta, Ga. will be Wednesday, March 23, 10 a.m., at Miller Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Forestlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family tonight, 6-8 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home. Mrs. Young died Sunday, March 20.

Survivors include her spouse Paul Young of Marietta, Ga.; two sons, Mike J. Petraroi of Gainesville, Ga., Tim Petraroi of Cumming, Ga.; two daughters, Cheryl Thurman of Acworth, Ga., Tami Nuzum of Marietta, Ga.; a brother, J.W. Roland of Oxford, AL; three sisters, Judy Stephens of Oxford, Jo Ann Hammonds of Missouri, Janice Dunn of Anniston; her parents, Finley and Ola Burton Roland; eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Wesley Petraroi, T.J. Petraroi, Dillon Petratoi, Kennon Nuzum, David Thurman and Daniel Thurman. Mrs. Young was a native of Anniston. She lived in Marietta, Ga. for the past 25 years.
