HEFLIN - Services for Florine Dunn, 74, of Heflin will be 2 p.m. Friday at Dryden Funeral Home Chapel with visitation from 6-8 this evening at the funeral home.

Gentry

ANNISTON - Graveside services for Mrs. Betty L. Gentry, 73, of Anniston will be 3 p.m. Friday at Pine Grove Cemetery in Anniston, with the Rev. Bobby Maze officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-8 this evening at the funeral home.

Mrs. Gentry died Tuesday, June 7, at NEARMC. Survivors are her daughters, Emily and Patricia Gentry; sons, Stoney, Gene, Grady and Michael Gentry; sisters, Rosie Stacks and Joyce Saffold; brother, Johnson Gentry; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Spencer Gentry, Brandon Pinson, Alex Tollison, Chris Tollison, Donald Tollison and Roy Couch. Mrs. Gentry was a native and lifelong Anniston resident and is preceded in death by her husband, James Gentry; a son, Steve Gentry; two daughters, Suddy and Rosemary Gentry; and a granddaughter, Stephanie Crawford.

Ingram

ANNISTON - Funeral service for Ursula Ingram, 63, of Anniston will be 10 a.m. Friday at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home with Dr. Larry Riddle officiating. Burial will be in Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Ingram died Monday at her home. Survivors include her husband, Charles Ingram; two sons, Charles L.H. Ingram, of Portmouth, N.H. and Fred Ingram, and beloved daughter-in-law, Pam, of Nashville, Tenn.; two sisters, Monika and her husband Joe Webb, and Brunhilde and her husband, Roy Light, both of Anniston; one brother, Heinrich Stoffel and his wife, Heidi, of Lemberg, Germany; one beloved niece, Tammy Webb, of Anniston. She was preceded in death by her parents, Heinrich and Anna Stoffel; and her brother Ferdi Stoffel. Knight

BIRMINGHAM - Services for Mr. Charlie Knight, 84, a Randolph County native, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 11, at Pine Flat Primitive Baptist Church, Wedowee, with Elder Thomas Knight officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Flat Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Knight passed away Sunday, June 5, at Preston Hospital in Birmingham.

Survivors include four sons, Charlie Robert Knight, of Birmingham, Billy Knight, his wife, Lou, of Detroit, Mich., Edward Knight, his wife, Jackie, of Birmingham, and Jessie Bullock, of Syracuse, N.Y.; six daughters, Thelma Pierce, her husband, Charles, Kathy Bullock, her husband, Henry, both of Syracuse, N.Y., Nancy Bullock, her husband, Gus, of Birmingham, Susie Cunningham, her husband, Jerry, and Jacqueline Knight, both of Odenville, Tammy Waddy, her husband, Curtis, of Birmingham; one sister, Mildred Ballard, her husband, Jim, of Los Angeles, Calif.; two brothers, David Knight, his wife, Brenda, of Carrollton, Ga., and K.V. Knight, of Wedowee. Mr. Knight was preceded in death by his parents, Robert H. Knight and Sally Fannie Knight; and a host of brothers and sisters.

Viewing hours will be observed on Friday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Clark Memorial Funeral Service, Roanoke. The family hour will be observed at Bushelon's Funeral Home, 800 14th St. SW, Birmingham, Ala. from 6-7:00 p.m. Friday. Mr. Knight will lie in state at the church one hour before the funeral services on Saturday.

Services for the late Mr. Charlie Knight are being provided by Clark Memorial Funeral Services in Roanoke.

Landers

ROANOKE - Services for Vinnie Robinson Landers, 85, of Roanoke will be 1 p.m. today from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel.

Miller

OXFORD - Funeral services for Leila Mae Knox Miller, 86, of Oxford will be Friday, June 10, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Rivers officiating. Burial will follow in Good Hope Delta Baptist Cemetery in Delta. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home.

Mrs. Miller died Wednesday at Beverly Health Care. She is survived by two daughters, Joyce Miller LaTaste and her husband, Charles LaTaste, and Shirley Miller Hall, and her husband, Bennett Hall, all of Oxford; three sons, Herman Eugene Miller, and his wife, Linda Miller, of Birmingham, Herbert Lloyd Miller, and his wife, Karen Miller, of Talladega and Kenneth Earl Miller of Oxford; three sisters Margie Knox Brown, of Birmingham, Glennie Knox Masters, of Vincent and Dean Knox Sherrell, of Childersburg; eight grandchildren, Jeffrey Eugene Miller, Penny Lynn LaTaste, Shannon Renee Gable, Christopher Miller, Steven Neil Miller, Kenneth Alan Miller, Karen Marie Miller and Tonya Lynn Miller; nine great grandchildren, seven step great grandchildren and three step great great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons. Mrs. Miller was a native of Clanton and a resident of Oxford for many years. She was Baptist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Brinton Miller; her parents, James Cicero Knox and Ressie Rhodes Knox; brothers, Thomas Melvin "Buff" Knox, Leonard Paul "Buddy" Knox and Grady Knox; one sister Mildred Knox.

Pace

JACKSONVILLE - Funeral services for Stephen Shane Pace, 27, of Jacksonville, will be Friday at 2 p.m. from the K.L. Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Center Chapel with the Rev. Jim Kelley officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. Mr. Pace died Tuesday, June 7, at his residence.

Survivors include his mother Patricia Pace, of Jacksonville; one sister, Heather Aslinger, of Knoxville, Tenn.; one brother, Jeremy Alan Pace, of Jacksonville; his grandmother, Cora McClellan, of Weaver. Mr. Pace was a member of West Weaver Baptist Church, and he liked to fish. He was preceded in death by his father, Darryl Pace, a grandfather, Donald McClellan, and a grandmother Rebbeca Taylor.

Potterfield

JACKSONVILLE - A private viewing for Zetha Mae Estes Potterfield, 69, of Jacksonville was Monday, June 6, for immediate family with K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center in charge. Mrs. Potterfield died Saturday, June 4, in Birmingham.

Survivors include one son, Thomas Potterfield, of Alexandria; sister, Vicki Martin, of Guntersville; brothers, Billy Estes, of Atlanta, Ga., and Glen Estes, of Gallant, Ala. Mrs. Potterfield was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Potterfield Jr.

Roebuck

GAYLESVILLE - Arthur David Roebuck, 54, passed away Wednesday morning in the Gadsden Regional Medical Center. Visitation from 2-5 p.m. today at Perry Funeral Home.

Burks

HEFLIN - Services for Edward Lee Burks, 79, of Heflin will be today at Dryden Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Clyde Ray officiating. Burial will be in Anniston Memorial Gardens with Dryden Funeral Home in charge of services.

Mr. Burks died Thursday, June 16, at Bill Nichols State Veterans Home in Alexander City. He was born May 30, 1926, and was a faithful Christian having served as an elder at Weaver Church of Christ and Pine Hill Church of Christ in Randolph County. He was a member of Heflin Church of Christ and was retired from M&H Valve Company with 33 years of service where he was known as "Tiny." He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was preceded in death by a son, Glen Charles Burks, a son-in-law, Daniel Pointer, and his parents, M.M. Burks, Sr. and Lily Howard Burks.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Lucille Williamson Burks of Heflin; three daughters and a son-in-law, Judith and Glen Key of Jacksonville, Alice B. Pointer of Heflin, and Anita B. Elliott of McDonough, Ga.; four grandchildren, Ginger K. and Shane Chandler, Danny Lee and Misty Pointer, Edward M. Burks, and April Lynn and Jason Coffey; five great grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Willodean and Horace Hightower, Nelda B. and Dwight Porter; brothers, James H. Burks, and M.M. Burks, Jr.; brothers and sisters-in-law, John A. and Mildred Williamson, Van C. and Joy Williamson, C.J. and Eloise Williamson, Peggy and Mike Lecroy; and several nieces and nephews who affectionately called him "Uncle Chuck."

Pallbearers will be Horace Hightower, Dwight Porter, John A. Williamson, Van C. Williamson, C.J. Williamson, Thomas F. Williamson and Mike Lecroy. The family would like to thank the staff of Bill Nichols State Veterans Home and Southern Care Hospice for the care given to Mr. Burks during his illness.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Parkinsons Disease Foundation, 1250 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10305, or a favorite charity.

Elliott

OXFORD - Funeral services for Mr. Vernon Lynn Elliott, 52, of Oxford will be 1 p.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church of Anniston with the Revs. Ralph Barrow, Clinton Bussler, Henry Golson and Chief Bill Fincher officiating. Burial will follow in Oxford Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Elliott will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Elliott died Saturday, June 18, at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Belle Morrison Elliott of Oxford; one son, Bradley Lynn Elliott and his wife, Heather McVeigh Elliott; one daughter, Shelby Elliott Ray and her husband, Michael Anthony Ray; one sister, Prissy O'Neal and her husband, Robert; grandchildren, Austin Bradley Elliott, Aidan Heath Elliott, and Alexis Von Ray.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Gilchrist, David Morrison, III, Rodney Austin, Asst. Chief Gary Sparks, Sgt. Frank Wyville, Capt. Rick Sensenbach, Sgt. Steven Stone and Lt. Katherine Meherg. Honorary pallbearers will be the Anniston & Oxford Fire Departments, Randy Third, Pat Borders and Ricky Howell. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society by calling 1-800-227-2345.

Mr. Elliott was retired from the Anniston Fire Dept. with 18 years of service and was with the Oxford Volunteer Fire Dept. for 32 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Oxford and is preceded in death by his parents, Randy and Nellie Elliott.

Hurst

DeARMANVILLE - Funeral services for Mr. Lartha Doyle Hurst, Jr., 77, of DeArmanville will be 11 a.m. Monday at DeArmanville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Woodfin Grove officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. this evening at Miller Funeral Home. Mr. Hurst died Saturday, June 18, at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Nelson Hurst of DeArmanville; children, Debra Hill, Timothy Hurst, Cynthia Martin, Laura Blankenship, Elizabeth Black and Emily Hurst-Martin; one sister, Mary Juanita Denham; two brothers, Billy Faye Hurst and Arlinton L. Hurst; grandchildren, Brian Blankenship, Amy Blankenship, Casey Livingston, James W. Black III, Samuel Hill, Bradley Tyler Black, Nelson Greer Hurst and James W. Hurst; one great-grandchild, Jacob Blankenship.

Pallbearers will be Brian Blankenship, Casey Livingston, James W. Black III, Tyler Black, Samuel Hill, Nelson Hurst and James Hurst. Honorary pallbearers will be Owens Guthrie and Ned Hughes. Mr. Hurst was a resident of DeArmanville and a member of DeArmanville United Methodist Church and was a retired Master Electrician with the U.S. Postal Service. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lartha Doyle Hurst, Sr. and Anna Inez Hurst and his siblings, Patricia Brasher, Martha Barone, Emmie Lou Crocker and Mildred Elaine Hurst.

Johnston

OXFORD - Mr. Clarence Walter Johnston, 71, of Oxford died on Friday, June 17, at his residence.

Survivors include his wife Dulce Johnston of Oxford; three sons, Jeffery Johnston of Michigan, John David Johnston of California, and Stephen Johnston of Mexico; two daughters, Ruby Johnston of Mexico, and Angela Johnston of Oxford; two sisters, Ruby Ruble and Marilyn Allen, both of Florida; and one brother, Bill Johnston of Indiana; grandchildren, William Johnston, Lisa Johnston, Tawni Johnston and David Johnston. Mr. Johnston was a resident of Oxford. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Jones

PIEDMONT - Services for Eddie Jones, 55, of Piedmont will be 2 p.m. Monday at Thompson Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny English, the Rev. Jimmy Ford and the Rev. Jerry Pike officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Jones died Saturday, June 18, at Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include his wife, Debby Fields Jones; a son, Jeremy Jones and his wife, Susan, of Birmingham; a grandson, David Jones, of Birmingham; his mother, Evelyn Jones, of Piedmont; two brothers, Stephen Jones, his wife, Lori, of Mobile, and Brian Jones, his wife, Eyvettee, of Crossville; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Carlos Farmer, Kevin Farmer, Jeremy Jones, Brian Jones, Stephen Jones, David Floyd, Ronnie Reeves and Jerry Sanford. Honorary pallbearers will be present and past members of the Bridgemen Quartet, including Jerry Gilley, Ivan Ray, Jeff Haney, Ted Anderson and David Ingram.

Mr. Jones was a native and lifelong resident of Piedmont. He was a 1967 graduate of Piedmont High School and was a graduate of Jacksonville State University. He was a senior sales executive with Danka Office Imaging. He was an active member of Northside Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School Teacher, Church Clerk and Audio Technician. He was a member and treasurer of the Spring Garden Volunteer Department, had served several years as president of the Piedmont Band Boosters and was a member of the Bridgemen Quartet. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Jones, and his grandparents, Lillie and Charlie Bone and Hazel and Edward Jones.

Rawls

ANNISTON - In loving memory of Rebecca Diane Rawls, born on July 3, 1942, in Anniston to the late John and Carrie Hughley. Rebecca grew up in Anniston, where she attended the 12th Street Elementary School and Cobb Ave. High School. www.goodsonfuneralhome.net

Roberts

ANNISTON - Graveside services for Mrs. Ellie Claire Roberts, 92, of Anniston will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Forestlawn Gardens, with the Rev. David Rice officiating. The family will receive friends Monday at 1 p.m. at Gray Brown Service Mortuary. Mrs. Roberts died Saturday in Rainsville.

Survivors include son, Dr. Robert Roberts - Los Angeles, Calif., daughters, Patricia Allen and husband Royce - Rainsville, Joyce Flood and husband James - Anniston; grandchildren, Henry Allen, Lynn Ledford, Lisa Phillips, Clare Huntenburg, Richard Flood and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Roberts was a native of Atlanta, Ga., and a resident of Calhoun County since 1948. She was a member of 1st Presbyterian Church of Anniston. Preceded in death by her husband, Robert Roberts Sr., and a grandson, Michael Allen.
