HEFLIN - Services for Hazel Louise Brimer, 75, will be 2 p.m. Friday at Upper Cane Creek Methodist Church. Visitation Thursday 6-8 p.m. at Dryden Funeral Home in Heflin.

Carwile

LINEVILLE - Funeral services for Mrs. Eunice Narvelle Carwile, 83, of Lineville will be 2 p.m. today at Shiloh Lineville Baptist Church with the Rev. Zenus Windsor officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

Mrs. Carwile passed away Monday, June 21, at Baptist Medical Center Montclair in Birmingham. She was a native and lifelong resident of Clay County; was a homemaker, a volunteer at Lineville Baptist Center. She was a member of the order Eastern Star Lineville Chapter #120, Progressive Study Club and Coleman's Chapel Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Dewey Carwile, of 64 years, of Lineville; five sons, Dewey Aubrey Carwile (Sandra), of Lawrenceville, Ga., James Sherman Carwile (Hilda Faye), of Lineville, Billy Carwile (Betty), of Tallassee, Michael Lee Carwile (Shelia), of Lineville, Rick Carwile, of Lineville; five sisters, Myra Shankles, of Valley Head, Jacquline Smith, of Sylvania, Virginia Greeson, of Ider, Ifadell Hurst, of Henagar, Wilma Martin, of Hixson, Tenn.; one brother, Thurman Caldwell, of Charlotte, N.C., 5 grandchildren, Regina Halpin (Mark) of Auburn, Shelia Carwile of Birmingham, Danny Carwile (Brandy) of Atlanta, Ga., Kevin Carwile (Jennifer) of Lawrenceville, Ga., Kenny Carwile of Montgomery, two great grandchildren, Asheley Halpin and Steven Halpin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Allie Caldwell. The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville from 5:30-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, and until service time on Wednesday, June 22. Benefield Funeral Home of Lineville in charge of the arrangements.

Crane

CEDAR BLUFF - Funeral services for Mrs. Lois Bell Crane, 82, will be at 10 a.m. today at Perry Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Crane passed away Monday at Cherokee Baptist Medical Center.

Digby

WEAVER - Funeral services for Mrs. Leslie H. "Hopie" Digby, 80, of Weaver will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Father Robert Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow in Coldwater Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 5-8 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home.

Mrs. Digby is survived by six children, James G. Digby, of New Orleans, La., Thomas A. Digby, of Oxford, Mary D. Plante and her husband, Jerry, of Candia, N.H., Cathy D. Little and her husband, Randy, of Weaver and Patricia D. Andrade, of Choccolocco; one sister Jacqueline Muster CSJ, of St. Anne, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Craig Pounds, Christopher Plante, John Digby, Jeffrey Digby, Jeremy Crews, Theresa Mitchell, Jacqueline Plante-Welch and Tori Crews; 12 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Pounds, Albert McDill, Darryl McDill, Steve Digby, Jeff Morris, Jeremy Crews, Christopher Plante and Pete Cook. Mrs. Digby was preceded in death by her husband Ernest G. Digby; her parents Carl and Marion Muster; a daughter, Carol Ann Pounds and a sister, Mary Carol Muster.

She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.

Kitchens

ROANOKE - Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Helen Moon Kitchens, 79, of Roanoke will be 10 a.m. today from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Frank Foster officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Kitchens died Tuesday, June 21, at Wedowee Hospital.

Survivors include her husband, Joe Kitchens, of Roanoke; one son, Joe (wife, Brenda), Kitchens, Jr., of Robertsdale, Ala.; three sisters, Curtis Noles, of Roanoke, Mary Williams, of Uvalda, Ga., Shirley Youngblood, of Troy; four brothers, Milton, Hugh and Travis Moon, of Roanoke, Malcolm Moon, of Union Springs; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Dwayne Foster, John Glass, Gregg Norred, Rusty Guizar, Ricky Daniel and Johnny Earnest. Mrs. Kitchens was born October 5, 1925, daughter of James Martin and Hattie Lou Brown Moon. She was a member of the Rock Mills Church of the Nazarene and a retired sales clerk for Genuine Motor Parts of Wedowee. Mrs. Kitchens was preceded in death by two brothers, Willie and Ray Moon.

Lockridge

PIEDMONT - Janice Lockridge, 69, passed away Tuesday, June 21, at Regional Medical Center in Anniston. Services will be private. Thompson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Matthews

HOPKINVILLE, Ky. - Services for Mrs. Jennifer Mixon Matthews, 31, formerly of Anniston, will be announced by Ervin Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Matthews died Tuesday at Hopkinville Medical Center.

Moore

JACKSONVILLE - Graveside services for Laura Bell Moore, 69, will be 2 p.m. today at Mt. Gilead Baptist Cemetery with the Rev. Johnathan Fitzpatrick officiating. K.L. Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Center has charge. Mrs. Moore died June 21 at her residence.

Survivors include two daughters, Belinda Murphy, (Mike McCurry), and Kathy Knight, (Mark), both of Jacksonville; five sons, Larry Moore, (Chan), Jerry Moore, (Faye), both of Ohatchee, Gary Moore, (Charity), of Saks, Steven Moore and Thomas Moore, (Starla), both of Ohatchee; 17 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Johnny Sams, Dwayne Sams, Thomas Johnson, Joe Moore, Mark Brown and Lee Mink. Mrs. Moore was married for 50 years was a wonderful homemaker and mother of seven. She attended Pine Grove Holiness Church of Webster's Chapel for 27 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Moore; parents, Ellis Mathis and Wille Mae Mathis.

Pate

WELLINGTON - Funeral services for Mrs. Betty June (B.J.) Pate, age 62, of Wellington will be Thursday, June 23, at 2 p.m. at Wellington First Baptist Church. The Rev. Wayne Lackey will officiate with Chapel Hill Funeral Home in charge of services. Burial will be at Wellington First Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon until time of service at the church. Mrs. Pate died Sunday, June 19, in Gadsden.

Mrs. Pate is survived by her daughters, Robin Elisa Mitchell, of Hackleburg, Ala., Mandy Michele Coker and Sandra June Stillwell, both of Wellington; son, Elbert Eugene Allen, Jr., of Wellington; mother, Kathryn Angle, of Weaver; brother, James Angle, of Weaver; grandchildren, Randy and Charlie Stewart, Angel Mitchell, Leslie Coker, Savannah Stillwell, Stephen, Brooke and Austin Allen; great-grandchildren, Haley and Davey Stewart.

Pallbearers will be Donald Rhodes, Wayne Allen, Michael Allen, Steven Prince, Bucky Mangum, Randy Sloan, James Angle, Gene Angle. Mrs. Pate was a native of Calhoun County and a resident of Wellington. She was of the Baptist Faith. She was preceded in death by her father, James Ed Angle; sister, Honor Warren; brother, Troy Angle; and grandparents, Thomas L. Bryant, Ethel K. Bryant, Newt and Eunice Angle.

Windsor

HEFLIN - Memorial service for James Thomas Windsor, Jr., 67, of Heflin will be at Episcopal Church of the Messiah on Friday, June 24, beginning at 11 a.m. with the Rev. James Callahan officiating. Mr. Windsor died Monday, June 20, at Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include one daughter, Kelly Windsor, of Nashville, Tenn.; one son, James Thomas Windsor, III, of Alabaster; sister, Cathy Carlisle, of Vincent; brother, William Ray Windsor, of Atlanta, Ga.; and companion, Gail Anderson, of Heflin. Mr. Windsor was a native of Pell City and was a former resident of Atlanta. He moved to Heflin upon retiring in 1994 and was a U.S. Navy veteran.

In lieu of flowers, donations shall be made to the Salvation Army.

Woods

ANNISTON - Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie Lee Woods, 83, of Anniston will be at 1 p.m. Thursday from 17th Street Baptist Church with the Rev. Carlos Woodward officiating. Burial will be in Eden Hills Cemetery with Ervin Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Woods died Saturday, June 18, at Regional Medical Center. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Ida Mae Phillips, of Anniston and Mrs. Sara Rachael Hart, of Cleveland, Ohio; three daughters, Barbara Ann Thomas and Memolia Louise Woods, of Anniston and Earnestine Yvonne Carlisle (Fred), of Atlanta, Ga.; on son, Earnest William Woods, Jr. (Odessa), of Anniston; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews who all affectionately called her "B".

Pallbearers will be grandsons. Mrs. Woods was a resident of Anniston and a member of 17th Street Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Earnest W. Woods, Sr.; two daughters, Helen Frances Gary and Sylvia Dean Woods; a son, Joseph Arvin Woods, her parents, George Ernest and Minnie Lee Turner; six sisters and one brother.

CENTRE - Mr. James Burney Bishop, 85, of Centre passed away Thursday evening at Cherokee Baptist Medical Center. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. today at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Wright and the Rev. Melvyn Salter officiating. Burial will be in the Neal Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Centre First Baptist Church or Centre Alzheimers Unit.

Pallbearers will be Joe Grimes, Roland Houch, Ralph Bishop, Jake Cordell, Hosia Barrett, Bill Lee and Lee Sims. He is survived by his wife Virginia Albright Jett Bishop; daughters, Lindsey (Nate) Houck, of Piedmont and Peggy (Dan) Pounds, of Sylacauga; step-son, Robert David (Janie) Jett, of Montgomery; four grandchildren, Randy Houck, Tara Jett, Deidra Cromer and Drew Pounds; one nephew, Lee Sims and one niece, Bonnie Grimes. Mr. Bishop was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Sims Bishop; a daughter, Patsy Bishop; and a brother, Billy Bishop.

Mr. Bishop was a native of Clay County, the son of the late L.M. and Mattie Bishop, was a 1942 graduate of Jacksonville State Teacher's College and a 1952 graduate of Auburn University. He was a veteran of WWII, where he played in the Navy Band; was the Superintendent of Education of Cherokee County from 1966 until 1970, he was a retired teacher, coach and band director. He was a member of the Masons, the Order of the Eastern Star and the Lion's Club and a former member of the Centre City Council.

Bradley

PIEDMONT - Services for Bertie Alline Bradley, 72, of Piedmont will be announced by Thompson Funeral Home. Mrs. Bradley died Friday at Jacksonville Medical Center.

Carpenter

ANNISTON - Funeral services for Patricia A. Carpenter, 68, formerly of Michigan will be at a later time. Mrs. Carpenter died Thursday at National Health Care.

Carwile

LINEVILLE - Funeral services for Mr. Dewey N. Carwile, age 84, of Lineville will be 2 p.m. Sunday, July 3, at Shiloh Baptist Church in Lineville with the Rev. Zenus Windsor officiating. Masonic Graveside services will follow in the adjoining cemetery. Mr. Carwile passed away Friday, July 1, at the Clay County Hospital.

He was a native of Ohio but had lived most of his live in Clay County. He worked in the saw mill and lumber business and was retired owner of Lineville Lumber Company. He had served on the board of Directors of Southtrust Bank along with numerous other local boards. Mr. Carwile was very active in the Lineville Masonic Lodge #219 F&AM, Eastern Star Lineville Chapter #120, and the Zamora Shrine in Montgomery. He was a Member of Coleman Chapel Baptist Church.

He is survived by 5 sons, Dewey Aubrey Carwile (Sandra) of Lawrenceville, Ga., James Sherman Carwile (Hilda Faye) of Lineville, Billy Carwile (Betty) of Tallassee, Michael Lee Carwile (Shelia) and Rick Carwile both of Lineville, two sisters, Zadie Woods of Athens, Ohio, Virginia Loveless of Lineville, one brother, Thurman Carwile of Washington C H, Ohio, five grandchildren, Regina Halpin (Mark) of Auburn, Shelia Carwile of Birmingham, Danny Carwile (Brandy) of Atlanta, Ga., Kevin Carwile (Jennifer) of Lawrenceville, Ga., Kenny Carwile of Montgomery and two great grandchildren, Asheley Halpin and Steven Halpin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman H. Carwile and Maude Carpenter Carwile, his wife of 64 years Narvelle Carwile, and two sisters, Ruby Fritz and Lillian Blackerby.

Active and Honorary pallbearers will be members of Lineville Masonic lodge and Eastern Star Lineville Chapter # 219. The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville from 5:30 to 8 p.m. this evening and until service time Sunday July 3, 2005. Benefield Funeral Home of Lineville in charge of the arrangements.

Ford

JACKSONVILLE - Funeral services for Ronald "Ronnie" Edward Ford, 56 will be 1 p.m. Sunday from the chapel of K.L. Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Center with the Revs. Bert Breland and Earl Vinson officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 this evening. Mr. Ford died July 1 at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include his two daughters; Brandi Lowery and her husband, Jackson, of Birmingham, Brittany Ford, of Jacksonville; son, Taylor Ford, of Jacksonville; three sisters; Mary Ann Weldon, Joan Vinson and her husband, Earl and Rita Steward and her husband, Charlie; four brothers; James Ford, Horace Ford and his wife, Linda, Dennis Ford and his wife, Faye and Thomas Ford and his wife, Donna; one grandchild; Lilly Lowery of Birmingham; numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Cecil Marbut, Gary Marbut, Greg Almaroad, Mike Ponder, Jimmy Jones, Rick Goodwin, Wesley Ford and Larry Ford. Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Green, Ronald Allsup and Alan McDowal. Mr. Ford was a lifelong resident of Jacksonville. He was the owner of Ronnie's Barber Shop for 35 years. Preceded in death by his parents Horace James Ford and Ruth Mary Davis Ford. Ronnie will always be remembered by his family and friends for his humorous spirit, warm heart and caring personality.

ROANOKE - Services for Helene Waller Jordan, 92, of Roanoke will be 2 p.m. Sunday from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel. Visitation from 5-8 this evening at the funeral home.

Livingston

OXFORD - Funeral services for Joseph L. Livingston, 89, of Oxford will be 2 p.m. Sunday, at Lakeview Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Starling officiating. Burial will follow in Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 this evening at Miller Funeral Home. Mr. Livingston will lie in state one hour prior to service time at the church. Mr. Livingston died Thursday, June 30, at his home.

Mr. Livingston is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Halmo and her husband Steve; three sons, Gerald Livingston, Charles Livingston and his wife, Alayne and Wayne Livingston and his wife, Jane; Special friend Mailande Sprayberry; sisters Opal Samford, Jeanette Stone, Edna Ledbetter, Agnes Dempsey; brothers, J.R. Livingston, Claude Livingston and Gordon Livingston; grandchildren Mike Livingston, David Livingston, Chris Livingston, Marty Livingston, Matthew Livingston and Christi Gaskins; 10 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Mike Livingston, David Livingston, Chris Livingston, Marty Livingston, Matthew Livingston and Max Gaskins. Honorary pallbearers will be the Men's Sunday School Class at Lakeview Baptist Church, A-1 Senior Adults-Lakeview Oxford Senior Citizens. Mr. Livingston was a World War II Veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was preceded in death by his wives, Juanita Livingston and Margie Livingston; daughter, Lynn Livingston, grandson, Todd Livingston, great grandson Caleb Gaskins, and his parents, John Patrick Livingston and Maude McFry Livingston.

Lowe

WADLEY - Services for Mr. Willie Fred Lowe, 65, of Wadley, who passed away Friday, July 1, at V.A. Medical Center in Birmingham, will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Friendship Baptist Church, Wadley, with the Rev. Calvin Trammell, Pastor, Officiant, the Rev. Robert L. Heflin, Eulogist and the Rev. Claude Cobb officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. Public viewing hours will be observed at Clark Memorial Funeral, Roanoke, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 6. Mr. Lowe will lie in state at the church one hour before the funeral services.

Survivors of Mr. Willie Fred Lowe include his wife, Betty Lowe of Wadley; mother-in-law, Ervis McKissic of Wedowee; five children, Sara Hand of Roanoke, Angie Mclain of Wadley, Willie Lowe, Jr. (Mashama) of Birmingham, Truda Lowe of Augusta, Ga., and Margie Knight (Lewis) of Wadley; three sisters, Lugenia A. Finley (Edward) of Detroit, Mich., Erma Bradsfield of Cleveland, Ohio, Cenus E. McMillan of Detroit, Mich.; uncles, John Houston of Wedowee, the Rev. Andrew Houston (Essie) of Green Cove Springs, Fla.; aunts, Mollie Mae Heflin of Roanoke, Velma Wright of Wedowee, Eddie Lee Knox and Jessie Turner, both of Tuscaloosa, and Mildred Stitt Seth of Buffalo, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry Lowe and Cenus Houston; brothers, Donald, James, Clarence, Leandrus, John and Jerry; sisters, Luvenia Beard, Ervie Vines and Louise Lowe.

Mixon

ANNISTON - Funeral services for Frances Juanita Mixon, 84, will be 3 p.m. Sunday from the chapel of K.L. Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Center with the Revs. Ricky Pollard and William Cain officiating. Burial will be at Thomas Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service. Mrs. Mixon died Friday, July 1, at her residence.

Survivors include her two daughters; Marie Wilkins and her husband Jerome of Southside; Diane Reynolds and her husband James of Anniston; son; Terry Mixon his wife Judy of Cropwell; sister, Florine Morris, Virginia Beach, Va.; four grandchildren, Russell (Daphane) Uesry, Karen Goodgame, Patti (Tommy) Marshall and Chad (Shawn) Uesry; six great grandchildren, Tara (Terry) Workman, Ashley Goodgame, Hailey Uesry, Jennifer Uesry, Brooke Uesry and Connor Uesry; 20 nieces and 16 nephews.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Marshall, Terry Workman, Russell Uesry and Chad Uesry. Mrs. Mixon was a lifelong resident of Calhoun County. She loved going to church at Asberry Baptist Church and attended as long as she was able. She was preceded in death by her husband, Amos Freeman Mixon.

Roberson

POWDER SPRINGS, Ga. - Alice Jane Roberson, 17, of Powder Springs, Ga. passed away Friday, July 1. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 5, at McEachern Memorial United Methodist Church in Powder Springs, Ga. with Dr. Robin Lindsey and the Rev. Ray Roberson officiating. Interment will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Ragans Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Ohatchee.

Alice was a member of the McEachern Memorial United Methodist Church and was a former student of McEachern High School and Oakwood High School. She is survived by her parents, Robert and Sandra Roberson, of Powder Springs, Ga.; brothers, Brian T. Roberson of Hiram, Ga.; Neil A. Roberson of Douglasville, Ga. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4-9 p.m. and Monday from 2-4 p.m. West Cobb Funeral Home 2480 Macland Rd. Marietta, Ga. (770-419-9234) is in charge of arrangements.

Warf

ANNISTON - Funeral services for Mr. Joseph V. Warf, age 84, of Anniston will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Chapel Hill Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Johnathon Pate officiating and Chapel Hill Funeral Home in charge of services. Burial will be at White's Gap Cemetery. Visitation will be this evening from 6-8 at the funeral home. Mr. Warf died Thursday, June 30, at his residence.

Mr. Warf is survived by his daughters, Betty Ann Taylor, Boots Roberts, Josephine (Sissy) Wolfe; sons, Preston W. Warf, Joseph (Jo Jo) Warf, Williams K. Warf, all of Anniston; sisters, Lucy Cavedish of W. Virginia, and Florence White, of Orlando, Fla.; 14 grandchildren, Ray Taylor, Tammy Lee and husband, Eddie, Carisa Cowan and husband, Steve, Brian Roberts, Jr. and wife, Kristian, Tanya Warf, Michael Wolfe, Michell Haynie and husband, Dallas, Tommy Joe Wolfe, Angie Warf, Belinda Warf, Kelly Warf, Ben Warf, Bobby Warf and Mary Beth Warf; 21 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Warf was a native of Virginia and residence of Anniston for 31 years. He was owner and operator of R & W Welding for ten years. He was a World War II veteran and a member of Word of Life church. Mr. Warf was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel E. Warf; two sisters; four brothers; one granddaughter, and parents, William Avery and Bessie Mae Warf.

Woodham

Washington, N.C. - Services for Justin Patrick Woodham, 19, will be noon today at St Peter's Catholic Church, Greenville, N.C. Hillside Funeral Service has charge of the arrangements.
