CHARLES WILBURN PRUET
ASHLAND Funeral service for Dr. Charles Wilburn Pruet, 68, will be Friday, Feb. 25, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Clay County Funeral Home with the Rev. Lowell Ledbetter officiating. Burial, with military rites, will follow in Ashland City Cemetery.
Dr. Pruet died Feb. 21 at his home in East Amherst, N.Y. He was an active member of The Chapel in Williamsville, N.Y.
A graduate of the University of Alabama Medical School, Dr. Pruet began his medical practice in Birmingham. After specialized study, he moved to Buffalo, N.Y., where his work included clinical practice, university education and medical administration. Dr. Pruet was a Fellow in the American Academy of Otolaryngology-head and neck surgery; fellow in the American College of Surgeons, a fellow in the American Head and Neck Society; a diplomat of the American Board of Otolaryngology; and a member of the American College of Physicians.
He was active in many community organizations, including the Rotary Club of Buffalo, where he served on the board of directors; the Buffalo Urban League; St. Marys School for the Deaf and the VNA of Buffalo.
Dr. Pruet served as captain in the U.S. Army Medical Corps with service in Vietnam and as a captain in the U.S. Naval Reserve with service in Desert Storm. He was awarded the U.S. Navy Commendation Medal.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilburn A. and Troy S. Pruet.
He is survived by his wife, Susan A. Pruet of East Amherst, N.Y.; four daughters, Helen D. Pruet, Mimi S. Pruet, Kathryn P. Jenkins and husband Michael, all of Birmingham, Leslie Pitts and husband Ronald of Greensboro, N.C.; two sons, Alex Pruet and wife Heather of Louisville, Ky., and Jeffrey C. Pruet of East Amherst, N.Y.; two sisters, Mary Gaither and husband Pearino and Rebecca Newman and husband Julian, all of Talladega; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday beginning at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to The Chapel Building Fund in Williamsville, N. Y., or to The Salvation Army.

BOBBY WAYNE BOWLING
CHILDERSBURG Funeral service for Bobby Wayne Bowling, 66, of Eufaula will be held Thursday, Feb. 24, at 10 a.m. at Chapman Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Ken Bush officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Memorial Cemetery
in Childersburg at 3 p.m.
Mr. Bowling died Feb. 21 at Lakeview Community Hospital in Eufaula.
He was born May 20, 1938, in Sylacauga to the late J. Bruce and Marion Lipsey Bowling. He was a member of Mt. View Baptist Church, and was employed by Lakepoint State Park as a golf pro for 25 years.
Mr. Bowling is survived by his wife, Barbara Bowling of Eufaula; father, J.B. Bowling of Childersburg; his son, Tony Bowling and wife Angie of Montgomery; brother, James Kenneth Harris of Sylacauga; sister, Donna S. Vick of Atlanta; and granddaughter, Emilee Kate Bowling.
Pallbearers will be Bryan Gilmore, Chris Ingram, Bo Gilmore, James Thomas, Robert Patrick and Ronnie Morris.
Chapeman Funeral Home in Eufaula will direct the service.
ARCHIE BLACK
PELL CITY Graveside service for Archie Black, 78, of Pell City will be Friday, Feb. 25, at 2 p.m. in Athens Cemetery
in Athens.
Mr. Black died Feb. 23 at his residence. He was a World War II veteran, and retired from the U.S. Navy after 38 years of service. He was a retired local business owner who contributed to many local organizations, and was an avid dog lover.
Mr. Black is survived by his wife, Mildred Maynard Black of Cropwell; daughter, Barbara Ferdon of Pell City; son, Phillip Black of Pell City; brother, Amos Clinton Black of Athens; two sisters, Marie Usery and Gladys Davidson, both of Athens; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

PAUL COOK
SYLACAUGA Funeral service for Paul Cook, 58, of Sylacauga will be Friday, Feb. 25, at 1:30 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church Life Center with the Rev. LaNoah Ealy officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery
in Sylacauga.
Mr. Cook died Feb. 18 at Coosa Valley Baptist Medical Center in Sylacauga. A native of Talladega County, he was a member of Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church and was employed by Bowater for the past 37 years. A Vietnam veteran, he was honored with a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Cook of Sylacauga; three daughters, Hope (George) Sparks and Terri (LaNoah) Ealy of Sylacauga and Paula Cook of Huntsville; and a brother, Clark Cook of Sylacauga.
Pallbearers will be the Max 10 Savings Club and the Class of 1965.
Maddens Funeral Service will direct the service.

HARPERSVILLE Funeral service for Charles W. Donahoo, 64, of Harpersville will be Thursday, Feb. 24, at 11 a.m. at Harpersville Baptist Church with the Rev. Donald Parrish officiating. Burial will follow in Harpersville City Cemetery.
Mr. Donahoo died Feb. 22 at a local hospital.
He was born Aug. 5, 1939, in Harpersville, and was a lifelong resident of the town and member of Harpersville Baptist Church.
He is survived by a son, Wayne Holcome; a brother, Donald Donahoo; grandchildren, Nathan and Cory; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Chit McCraney, Gray McCraney, Bud Kidd, Junior Frasier, Roy Wood and Charles Hawk.
The family will receive friends Thursday, Feb. 24, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Harpersville Baptist Church.

ALEXANDER CITY Harland M. Hardy, 40, of Alexander City died Feb. 22 at Russell Medical Center in Alexander city.

KILLEEN, TEXAS Funeral service for Bennie "Dick" Martin Jr., 49, of Killeen, Texas, will be Friday, Feb. 25, at 10 a.m. at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home chapel in Killeen, Texas, with the Rev. David Newsome officiating. Burial will follow in Killeen City Cemetery.
Mr. Martin was born Dec. 8, 1955, in Talladega, and died Feb. 21 in Texarkana, Texas.
He was raised and educated in Killeen, where he attended Killeen High School, played football and graduated in 1974. He was an avid outdoorsman and fisherman, a fan of classic cars and worked as a long-haul truck driver.
Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his father, Bennie Martin Sr., and sister, Shelia Martin.
He is survived by his wife, Jan Martin of Atlanta, Texas; daughter, Robyn Harper of Atlanta, Texas; mother, Bobbie Martin of Killeen, Texas; brothers, Alton Martin of Bellmead, Texas, and Roger Martin of Burleson, Texas; sisters, Sarah Rodriguez and Mandy McCoy of Killeen, Texas; and three grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

FRANK MONTGOMERY
ANNISTON Funeral service for Frank Montgomery, 68, of Anniston will be Friday, Feb. 25, at 11 a.m. at Sunlight Baptist Church in Eastaboga with the Rev. Fred Durant officiating. Burial will follow in Sunlight Cemetery.
Mr. Montgomery died Feb. 22 at his residence in Anniston.
He was a native of Alabama and a member and deacon of Sunlight Baptist Church, where he served on the usher board. He also served in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Montgomery is survived by his wife, Ethlylene Montgomery of Anniston; three sons, Ronald, Spencer and Terry Montgomery of Chattanooga, Tenn.; one brother, LeRoy Montgomery of Atlanta; and five grandchildren.
The deacons at Sunlight Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the funeral service, and has asked that contributions be made to Sunlight Baptist Church or the cemetery in lieu of flowers.
Anniston Funeral Service will direct the service.

JONESBORO, Ga. Funeral service for Leona Haywood Northcutt, 65, of Jonesboro, Ga., was Wednesday, Feb. 23, at 2 p.m. at Pope Dickson and Son Funeral Directors-Jonesboro chapel with Brother Ray Hill officiating.
Mrs. Haywood died Feb. 20. She was preceded in death by her father, A.C. Northcutt, two brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by her mother, Kathreen Northcutt; four daughters, Rebecca McMillian, Mary Chinell, Kathy Evers and Tammy Jo Justus; two sons, James "Jimmy" Haywood and Aubrey Haywood; four sisters; three brothers; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pope Dickson and Son Funeral Directors directed the service.
