ANDREW WREN WAITES
TALLADEGA — Funeral service for Andrew Wren Waites, 45, will be Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Cherry Street Church of God with the Rev. Charlie Bolt and the Rev. Leon Croswell officiating. Burial will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Waites died April 15 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Waites. He was a lifelong resident of Talladega County, was a member of Cherry Street Church of God, where he served as the Children's Church director and was a trustee and a member of the Pastor's Council. He was a master gardener, attended Lee College and was employed by TMS Company of Talladega.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanie Fowler Waites of Talladega; his father, Wren Waites of Talladega; one sister, Claudia Bostwick of Hollywood, Fla.; one brother, Samuel Waites of Talladega; and one nephew, Sawyer Waites of Talladega.
Pallbearers will be John Ed Waites, Tyler Waites, Dan Waites, Johnny Waites, Jason Jones and Adam Fowler.
The family will receive friends at the church Tuesday from 5 until 7 p.m.
Talladega Funeral Home will direct the service.
RONALD STEVENS BALOGH
COOK SPRINGS — Ronald Stevens Balogh died April 14.
He was formerly of Milford, Conn., was born in Bridgeport, Conn., and was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran, having served during the
Korean War, earning the Good Conduct Medal and the National Service Defense Medal. He was retired from O.F. Mossberg and Sons in North Haven, Conn., was a member of the V.F.W. in Milford, Conn., and was an avid fisherman, spending countless days at the beach. He was preceded in death by his father, Stephen, and his dear sister, Lynn.
He is survived by his mother, Ida V. Balogh; his wife, Mable A. Balogh of Milford, Conn.; his aunt, Ann Kelemen of Fairfield, Conn.; daughters, Debra Furtado and husband Ernest of Pell City, Darlene Camara and husband Cam of Maui, Stephanie A. Erdos of Florida and Jean Piros and husband Laszlo of Fairfield; son, Ronald Balogh Jr. and wife Vicki; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City is in charge of arrangements.
MARY W. BLAKELY
SYLACAUGA — Funeral service for Mary W. Blakely, 82, of Sylacauga was Monday at Radney-Smith Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Albert W. Pike and Rev. Paul Hickman Jr. officiating. Burial was in Greenhill Cemetery
in Childersburg.
Mrs. Blakely died April 13 in Sylacauga. She was employed as a textile worker by Avondale Mills, was a member and president of Mt. View Homemakers Club, Coosa Valley Quilters Guild, Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 209, and Calvary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Lula White, and several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her husband, Henry T. Blakely of Sylacauga; two brothers, Darius White of Kingston, Tenn., and Henry White of Sorrento, Fla.; three sisters, Selene Blackerby of Sylacauga, Duel Walker of Pensacola, Fla., and Ruth Kilpatrick of Childersburg; one son and daughter-in-law, Milton A. Blakely and Sheryl Blakely of Childersburg; two grandsons, Bryan K. Blakely of Douglasville, Ga., and David T. Blakely of Childersburg; two granddaughters, Xochitl Blakely of Douglasville and Dusti Blakely of Childersburg; two great-grandchildren, Jeremy Blakely and Kaylan Blakely; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Bryan K. Blakely, David T. Blakely, Rufus Danley, Tony Butts, Tommy Bassett and Barry Skinner.
The family will accept flowers or donations to Southern Care Hospice.
Radney-Smith Funeral Home directed the service.
BETTY COLEMAN CANTOR
CARTHAGE, Texas — Funeral service for Betty Coleman Cantor, 65, will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Lipsey Family Funeral Home chapel in Carthage, Texas, with the Rev. Aaron Bequette officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery
in Sylacauga.
Mrs. Cantor died April 13 at her residence. She was born in Sylacauga on June 26, 1936. She was the daughter of James and Florence Jones Coleman. She was office manager for Cantor Chiropractor Clinic in Carthage, Texas, had lived in Carthage since 1986, moving there from Arlington, Texas. She was a Baptist by faith. She married Dr. Robert L. Cantor June 1, 1958, in Sylacauga. She was preceded in death by two sons, Robbie and Barry Cantor.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Robert L. Cantor of Carthage, Texas; one son, Ragan Cantor of Carthage, Texas; one brother, James (Jimmie) Coleman of Pell City; and one sister, Dot Blocker of Sylacauga.
Lipsey Family Funeral Home will direct the service.

CHILDERSBURG — Funeral service for Mattie Arleather Branson Carter, 74, will be Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Curtis and Son Funeral Home Childersburg chapel with the Rev. Allen Harvel officiating. Burial will be in Greenhill Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Carter died April 14 at her residence.
She is survived by a granddaughter, Nicole B. Golden of Childersburg; a great-granddaughter, Jasmyn Golden of Childersburg; a great-grandson, Branson Golden of Childersburg; and two sisters, Myrtis Fincher and Beatrice Ellison of Childersburg.
Pallbearers will be Scotty Patterson, Lester Hayes Jr., J.F. Blackerby, Josh Harvel, David Harvel and Cass Patterson.

JOHN PRICE HARRIS
VINCENT — Funeral service for John Price Harris, 55, will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Evening Star Church with the Rev. Ted St. John officiating. Burial will be in Evening Star Cemetery.
Mr. Harris died April 14 at Medical Center East. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mildred Harris. He was a native of East Lake, attended Woodlawn High School and served in the U.S. Air Force. He also served in the Army National Guard. He attended Ruhama Baptist Church and Jefferson State Jr. College, was a truck driver for Airco for 10 years and drove for 10 years with Diamond Express, where he retired.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Bess Harris; one brother, Frank Harris III of Birmingham; adopted sister, Cathy Faust of Birmingham; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2 p.m. until service time at 266 Perry Road.
Truck drivers from Diamon Express will serve as pallbearers.

MELFORD CLARENCE HAY
SYLACAUGA — Funeral service for Melford Clarence Hay, 75, will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Curtis and Son Funeral Home South chapel with the Rev. Jack Davison officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
Mr. Hay died April 14 at Coosa Valley BMC. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Hay. He was a veteran of the Navy during World War II, managed Yonder's Blossom Curb Market for 18 years and worked as a security guard for Battle's Security.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Katherine Hay of Sylacauga; one son, Robert E. Hay of Alpine; one daughter, Regina Peters and husband James of Jackson's Gap; five sisters, Jerrel Johnson of Sylacauga, Janet Harris of Sylacauga, Faye Hill of Birmingham, Dorothy Harmon of Del Rio, Calif., and Olivia Wilson of Washington State; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Curtis and Son Funeral Home South Chapel will direct the service.

ANNISTON — Funeral service for James A. Haynes, 70, will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home chapel in Pell City with the Rev. Doug Ford and the Rev. Ken Jones officiating. Burial will be in St. Clair Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Haynes died April 13 at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Riverside and a resident of Pell City for most of his life. He was retired from Avondale Mills with 37 years of service and was a Baptist by faith. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Anita Faye Steed; a brother, Donald Haynes; and his parents, Wylie Haynes and Mildred Eugenia Chapman Haynes.
He is survived by four daughters, Sandra Kay Ducker of Twin City, Ga., Melvia Joe Bowman of Cropwell, Jan Marie Thomas of Pell City and Stacy Diane Phillips of Cropwell; one son, James Keith Haynes of Warrior; four sisters, Elizabeth Cox of Ragland, Doris Webster and Peggy Sweatt of Pell City and Wanda Gail Montabana of McCalla; one brother, Bobby Haynes of Pell City; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Shawn Sweatt, David Sweatt, Terry Haynes, Barry Haynes, Roger Haynes, Danny Wright and Doug Pruitt.

SILVER RUN — Debbie Renae (Nae-Nae) Lynch, 28, died April 13 at her residence.

HARLIE LEWIS MOORE
TALLADEGA — Memorial service for Harlie Lewis Moore, 63, will be Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at St. Simon Peter Episcopal Church in Pell City with Father Van Foreman officiating.
Mr. Moore died April 12. He was a past president of the Welborn Athletic Association and was a native of Anniston. Growing up, he was in the Boy Scouts, earning the honor of being an Eagle Scout. He served on the Board of Directors of Coosa Valley Electric, served four years in the Air Force and was a 1957 graduate of Welborn High School, which was the first graduating class of Welborn High School. He was a member of St. Peter Episcopal Church in Talladega, was a graduate of Gadsden State Community College and was retired from Anniston Army Depot with more than 30 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Starr Moore; three brothers, Mike Moore of Anniston, Charles (Doc) Moore of Lompoc, Calif., and Doyle (Butter) Moore of Anniston; and two sisters, Geraldine Wright and Charlotte Joiner of Anniston.
Donations may be made to the American Heart Association for the Humane Society of your choice.
Board of Directors of Coosa Valley Electric will be honorary pallbearers.

AUBREY ODELL RICHEY
ODENVILLE — Funeral service for Aubrey Odell (Rick) Richey, 78, was Monday at Chapel Hill Funeral Home chapel in Pell City with the Rev. Elvin Liveoak and the Rev. Thurman Henninger officiating. Burial was in Macedonia Baptist Church North Shelby County.
Mr. Richey died April 12 at Medical Center East in Birmingham. He had lived in Odenville for the past 20 years. He was a former resident of Eden/Pell City for most of his life. He was retired from Conner Steel with 21 years of service and worked at ADE Moody for two years. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist North Shelby County, was a member of the VFW Post in Pell City and Cahaba Valley Country Club. He was a World War II veteran, where he served in the Air Force.
He is survived by his wife, Ilene Connell Richey of Odenville; one daughter, Sandra Elliott of Florence; three stepsons, Patrick Connell of Odenville, Jerry Connell of Mt. Olive and Danny Connell of Moody; two sisters, Juanita Macon and Betty Foster of Pell City; one brother, Robert Richey of Pell City; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Pell City directed the service.
