BIRMINGHAM - Funeral service for Peggy Jo Armstrong, 61, will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Eastlake U.M.C. Burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Usrey Funeral Home, Pell City, directing.

LAVINIA WRIGHT BOWMAN

TALLADEGA - Graveside service for Lavinia Wright Bowman, 80, will be Wednesday, May 4, at 11 a.m. in Pine Hill Memorial Park in Talladega with the Rev. John Whetstone officiating. Mrs. Bowman died May 1 at Talladega Health Care Center. She was a native of Talladega County, was a resident of Florida for 32 years and was a member of Bemiston Baptist Church. She was a member of Moknana Eastern Star No. 283 in Orlando, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) Bowman. She is survived by one sister, Jean Burkhart of Lexington, Ky.; two brothers, LeRoy Wright of Millry and William Wright of Talladega; and several nieces and nephews. The family will accept flowers. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega will direct the service.

THELMA IRENE HOSEY BURGESS

PELL CITY - Funeral service for Thelma Irene Hosey Burgess, 81, will be Tuesday, May 3, at 2 p.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home chapel in Pell City with the Rev. James Haynes and Brother Gordon Lee officiating. Burial will be in Forest Crest Cemetery in Birmingham. Mrs. Burgess died May 1.

She is survived by two daughters, Lillie Franklin and Genia Doyle; and four grandchildren, Chandler and Krista Doyle and Roxanne and Aerial Franklin. Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City will direct the service.

TRACY L. CADDELL

VINCENT - Funeral service for Tracy L. Caddell, 35, will be Tuesday, May 3, at 11 a.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home chapel in Pell City with the Rev. David Sherrill officiating. Burial will be in Vincent City Cemetery. Ms. Caddell died April 30. She is survived by her parents, Rudolph and Alta Caddell; brother, Richard Caddell; sister-in-law, Dacia Caddell; nieces, Ashton and Meagan Caddell; and nephew, Kade Carroll.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Raley, Bryan Hoagland, Jared and Jason Watson, Lamar Sherrill and Sandy Blankenship. Honorary pallbearer will be Brad Hoagland. Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City will direct the service.

RUBY HUCKEBA FELTMAN

ORANGE BEACH - Funeral service for Ruby Huckeba Feltman, 70, will be Wednesday, May 4, at 11 a.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home chapel in Pell City with the Rev. J.D. Wales officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Mrs. Feltman died May 1. She was retired from Union State Bank of Pell City and was a member of Island Fellowship Baptist Church in Orange Beach.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis T. Feltman of Orange Beach; daughter, Pamela Patterson (Eric) of Mobile; two sons, Keith Feltman (Lesa) of Orange Beach and Danny Feltman (Donna) of Birmingham; seven grandchildren, Jonathan Patterson, Benjamin Patterson, David Feltman, Scott Feltman, Deborah Cartier, Jessica Cartier and Donnie Cartier; and Godson, Jason Lee.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Island Fellowship Baptist Church Building Fund, 28290 Canal Road, Orange Beach, AL 36561. Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City will direct the service.

FAYETTEVILLE - Funeral service for George Neal Garrett, 102, will be Tuesday, May 3, at 11 a.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home chapel in Sylacauga with Dr. Gerald Hallmark officiating. Burial will be in Talladega Springs Cemetery in Talladega Springs. Mr. Garrett died April 30 at Coosa Valley Medical Center.

He is survived by his daughter, Mary J. Veazey of Childersburg; and three grandchildren, Neal Veazey of Jacksonville, Allen Veazey of Jacksonville and Susan Cox of Birmingham.

Pallbearers will be Jason Cox, Joe Long, Tommy Hatchett, Neal Veazey, Allen Veazey, Justin Veazey, Thomas Barnett, Harold Jones, Mike Smith and Bobby Usrey. MARY ELEANOR JONES

GOODWATER - Funeral service for Mary Eleanor Jones, 83, will be Thursday, May 5, at 2 p.m. at Hollins Church of Christ with Brother Roy Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Hollins Cemetery. Mrs. Jones died April 30 at Coosa Valley Medical Center.

She is survived by three daughters, Michelle Rowe of Florida, Gloria Chris Giernoth of Hollins and DeeDee Jones of Hollins; special loved ones, April Giernoth, Donna Berry, Eden Braswell Berry of Clay County; four brothers, William Derr of Spartanburg, S.C., Calvin Derr of Manheim, Pa., Bobby Derr of Holland, Pa., and Bill Derr of Montua, N.J.; two sisters, Hazel Wynn and Helen Zerbe of Pennsylvania; a host of nieces and nephews; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Todd Rowe, Brian Jones, Edward Price, Nathan Price and Ben Brian. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel will direct the service.

SYLACAUGA - Funeral service for A. Wendell Legg, 61, will be Wednesday, May 4, at 2 p.m. at Talladega Springs Full Gospel Tabernacle Church with Brother Joe Kelley officiating. Burial will be in Talladega Springs Cemetery. Mr. Legg died April 30. He was a member of Talladega Springs Full Gospel Tabernacle Church and was a man who loved God. He was a member of the Christian Motorcyclist Association, was a Mason and ordained minister. He was a field adjuster for Geico Insurance Company and was a great dad and an inspiration to others.

He is survived by his wife, Pat Legg of Sylacauga; son, Randy Scott of Hayden; daughters, Reneigh Haney of Hayden and Angie Benson of Lynn; seven grandchildren; three brothers, William Legg of Jasper, Autry Legg of Brilliant and Hollis Legg of Jasper; and sister, Mauvaline Hayes of Addison. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:30 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will accept flowers or donations may be made to Tom Pittman Ministries. The body may be viewed at the church Wednesday from 1 until 2 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Brian Kelley, Josh Cantrell, Brandon Chandler, Adam Chandler, Jim Gentry and Billy Joe Shell. Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel will direct the service.

MARZELLA McKENZIE

CHICAGO, Ill. - Marzella McKenzie, 82, formerly of Alpine, died May 1 at her residence. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary.

TALLADEGA - Funeral service for Clyde C. Thompson Jr., 74, will be Wednesday, May 4, at 3 p.m. at Midway Memory Gardens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Doug Hemphill officiating. Burial will be in Midway Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Thompson died May 1 at Mattie's Place. He was a native of Shelby County and was a resident of Talladega since 1996. He was employed by Delta Security Service, was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Wilma Thompson; and one sister, Helen Thompson. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Midway Memory Gardens Funeral Home will direct the service.

KENNETH HYMAN

CHILDERSBURG - Mr. Kenneth Hyman, age 82, of Childersburg, passed away April 28 at Baptist Montclair in Birmingham. Mr. Hyman was born Feb. 19, 1923 in Chicago, Ill., to the late Jack and Dorothy Ottenheimer Hyman. Mr. Hyman is survived by one son, Benny (Connie) Hammond of Childersburg; one daughter, Sandra (Kenneth) Stewart of Riverside, Calif.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. He was loved by all of his family. Mr. Hyman was preceded in death by his wife, Nell C. Hyman. Alabama Funeral Homes and Cremation Centers of Dadeville are in charge of the arrangements.

BARBARA JEAN PINKSTON

SYLACAUGA - Funeral service for Barbara Pinkston will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Midway Memory Gardens Funeral Home chapel. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Midway Memory Gardens Funeral Home will direct the service.

MARIA CHRISTINA de BRIGARD SAXON

Maria Christina de Brigard Saxon, age 34, died April 14 in Toms River, N.J. "Christy" attended Toms River High School East and Ocean County College, both of Toms River, N.J. She was employed by Urban Outfitters, Inc. in Philadelphia, Pa., as an Assistant Buyer/Accounts Payable Clerk. She loved music, vintage "anything" and stitchery.

She was predeceased by her grandparents, Pierce and Marine Saxon and John and Maria de Brigard. She is survived by her father and step-mom, Don and Sara Saxon of Stewartville and mother, Patricia de Brigard Saxon of Toms River, N.J.; one brother, Don Saxon Jr. of Coosa County; and one sister, Kim Saxon of Toms River; two step-brothers, Kevin and his wife Kelly Laddie of Alabaster and Keith and his wife Koki Laddie of Vincent; one step-sister, Kim L. and her husband Steve Baker of Wilsonville. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends and her dog, Joey.

Graveside service was held at Rockford Cemetery, Rockford. The family requests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 1035 Hooper Ave., Toms River, N.J., 08753 in Christy's memory. Riggs Funeral Home in Forked River, N.J., handled the arrangements.

RIVERSIDE - Graveside service for Violet B. Smith, 74, will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Smith died May 2. Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City will direct.

CHILDERSBURG - Funeral service for Peggy Darlene Tyler, 50, will be Thursday, May 5, at 2 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home chapel in Sylacauga with Brother Clarence Denney and Brother James Cullins officiating. Burial will be in Tallasahatchie Cemetery in Alpine. Mrs. Tyler died May 3 at Coosa Valley Medical Center. She was a member of Childersburg Church of Christ. She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Sydney Tyler of Childersburg; two daughters, Macie Nixon and Wendy Tyler of Childersburg; brother, William Walker Jr. of Sylacauga; three sisters, Debra Brannon of Childersburg, Rebecca Wright and Brenda Offord of Sylacauga; three grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Charles Moore Jr., Kevin Bryant, William Walker III, Matthew Moore, Tommy Allen and Shawn Trucks. Honorary pallbearer will be Jeffery Cosper. JAMES WADE

MUNFORD - Funeral service for James "Jamie" Wade, 46, will be Thursday, May 5, at 2 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home chapel with Rick Alldredge officiating. Burial will follow in Hopeful Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home. Mr. Wade died Monday at Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Roberson Wade of Munford; one daughter, Michelle Shears; one son, Matthew Wade; two brothers, Norris Wade Jr. and Donald Ray Wade; and one sister, Teresa Ann Hendon.

Pallbearers will be David Dabbs, Larry Gardener, Harry Wallace, Kenneth Gaither, Wayne Geier and Wren Turner.
