IRENE DYKES HALL

BIRMINGHAM - Funeral services for Irene Dykes Hall, 63, formerly of Sylacauga, will be Saturday, May 14, at 1 p.m. at Corinth Baptist Church with the Rev. Tony Dykes officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Mrs. Hall died May 9 at her residence.

She is survived by two daughters, Glenda Dykes of Atlanta, Ga., and Teresa Dykes Chambliss of Cincinnati, Ohio; four sons, Travis, Chevis and Willie Dykes, all of Birmingham and Lamar Dykes of Sylacauga; two brothers, James Dykes of Sylacauga and Altus Dykes of Oklahoma; four grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Friends of the family will serve as pallbearers and flowerbearers. The family will receive friends Friday from noon until 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Community Funeral Home will direct the service.

ANNIE PAULINE McGUIRK

OXFORD - Graveside service for Annie Pauline McGuirk, 96, will be Saturday, May 14, at 10 a.m. in Hall Cemetery in Lincoln. Mrs. McGuirk died May 12. She is survived by three sons, William Lloyd (Charlotte) McGuirk, Billy Joe (Patsy) McGuirk and Francis Richard McGuirk; seven grandchildren, Tim and Scott McGuirk, Wendell McGuirk, Sharon Preytor, Lisa Bolus, Laura McGuirk and Leslie McGuirk; and nine great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City will direct the service.

DORIS JEAN RUSSELL

MUNFORD - Funeral service for Doris Jean Russell, 49, of 60 Powell Lane, will be Saturday, May 14, at 2 p.m. at Shady Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Clarence Henderson and the Rev. Samuel Turner officiating. Burial will be in Union Springs Cemetery. Ms. Russell died May 6 at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center.

She is survived by daughter Reshunna Russell of Munford; sons Grady Russell, Lacorry Russell and Quintaivus Russell, all of Munford; her father, Oscar Russell Sr. of Munford; sisters Diane Taylor of Covina, Calif., Donna Turner of Columbus, Ohio, Anita Russell of Jonesboro, Ga., Jo Ann Russell, Evon Russell, Zandra Wolfe and Tammy Russell, all of Munford; brothers Paul Russell of Louisville, Ky., John Russell of Tucson, Ariz., Oscar Russell, Jesse Russell, Ronnell Russell, Norris Sistrunk, all of Munford, LaJuane Russell, James Russell and Patrick Russell, all of Lincoln; and five grandchildren. The body may be viewed at the church for one hour before the service. Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary will direct the service.

MABEL T. SAUNDERS

TALLADEGA - Funeral service for Mabel T. Saunders, 101, of 823 West Battle St., will be Saturday, May 14, at 1 p.m. at Sims Funeral Service chapel with Pastor Johnny F. McKinney officiating. Burial will be in Union Spring Cemetery. Ms. Saunders died May 8 in Lincoln. She is survived by her first cousins, Mrs. Georgia Smith of Talladega, Izola Laster, Georgia Grant, Freddie Starkley, Bernice Pilgrim, all of Cincinnati, Ohio; Beatrice Davis of Modesto, Calif.; care-givers, Marie Adams, Donald and Nell Silimon and a host of other relatives. The body may be viewed at the church for one hour before the service.

Pallbearers will be Richard Smith, Rodney Smith, Randall Smith, Donald Silimon and the Deacons of Rocky Mount Baptist Church. The body may be viewed from 2-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Sims Funeral Service will direct the service.

CARRIE JEAN GARRETT SHEPHERD

OXFORD - Funeral service for Carrie Jean Garrett Shepherd, 45, of 3515 Mary Drive, will be Saturday, May 14, at 2:30 p.m. at Spring Hill Baptist Church in Lineville, with the Rev. Donovan Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Lineville Community Cemetery. Mrs. Shepherd died May 10 at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center.

She is survived by her husband, George Shepherd of Oxford; step-daughters Ivy Shepherd of Stone Mountain, Ga., and Tomarco Shepherd of Tuscaloosa; son Christopher Jermaine Garrett of Lineville; sisters Bertharine Smith, Everlean G. Perry and Annie Laura Glenn, all of Lineville; brothers James L. Garrett, Alfonza Garrett and John Garrett, all of Lineville, and Ernest Garrett of Ocalo, Fla.; and four grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. The body may be viewed at the church for one hour before the service. Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary will direct the service.

CHARLOTTE ANN (ASHMORE) BOATRIGHT

TALLADEGA SPRINGS - Funeral service for Charlotte A. Boatright, 71, will be Saturday, May 14, at 3 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home with Brother Cary Brown officiating. Burial will be in Fayetteville Methodist Cemetery. Mrs. Boatright died May 12 at Coosa Valley Medical Center. She was born in Florida and moved to Alabama in the 1970s where she continued to raise her four children. She retired to Talladega Springs with her husband in 1992.

Mrs. Boatright is survived by her husband, Jasper Boatright; one daughter, Cynthia Boatright; three sons, Darrel Boatright, Bryan Boatright and Anthony Boatright; six grandchildren, DJ Gamble, Brent Boatright, Joey Boatright, Jessica Boatright, Hunter Boatright and Jacob Boatright; one great-grandchild, Aiden Gamble; and her brother, James Ashmore Jr. Services and music will be provided by Brother Cary Brown and son, Jeremy Brown, and his congregation of Russell Chapel. HUEY ALEXANDER DICKEY JR.

PELL CITY - Funeral service for Huey Alexander Dickey Jr., 76, will be Sunday, May 15, at 2 p.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home chapel in Pell City with the Rev. Doug Ford officiating. Burial will be in St. Clair Memorial Gardens. Mr. Dickey died May 12. He is survived by son, Huey Lee Dickey (Terrie); two brothers, Douglas Dickey and Samuel Dickey; two sisters, Mildred Callahan and Mattie Lee Golden; one step-grandchild, Jacob Gray; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Harold and Barbara Galloway; and several nieces and nephews. WILLIE OPHELIA SIMS FIELDS

ALPINE - Funeral service for Willie Ophelia Sims Fields, 89, will be Saturday, May 14, at 11 a.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home chapel in Sylacauga with the Rev. Michael Frost and the Rev. Bill Gwathney officiating. Burial will be in Tallasahatchie Cemetery in Alpine. Mrs. Fields died May 12 at Coosa Valley Medical Center. She was a member of Papertown Baptist Church and was a retired L.P.N. She was a native of Talladega County.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Barney Fields; and her sons, Len Fields, Huey Fields, William Fields and Milton Fields. She is survived by four daughters, Bobbie Sinclair of Alpine, Ann Brunner of Quincy, Calif., Myrtice Fields of Sylacauga and Lavenia McKee of Sylacauga; twin sister, Olevia Jones of Alpine; 23 grandchildren; number of great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. Following the interment, dinner will be served at Papertown Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.

BETTY BISHOP HURST

TALLADEGA - Funeral service for Betty Bishop Hurst, 68, will be Sunday, May 15, at 2 p.m. at Mount Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. Randall Ingram and the Rev. Alan Layton officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olive Baptist Cemetery in Talladega. Mrs. Hurst died May 13 at her residence. She was a native of Jefferson County and was a resident of Talladega most of her life. She was a past Girl Scout volunteer and was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church, the Ladies 1 Sunday School Class, the W.M.U., was a pianist for the church and other offices in the church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Casey Hurst. She is survived by four daughters, Beverly Hendrick of Daytona Beach, Fla., Nell Sinclair and husband Randy of Talladega, Anita Bishop of Talladega and Sheryl Bishop of Ashville; two sons, Herbie Bishop and John C. Bishop, both of Talladega; one sister, Martha Nell Beavers of Birmingham; one brother, Ted Mills of Orange Beach; nine grandchildren, Mark Goodson, Tim Hendrick, Kyle Hendrick, Jennifer Tubbs, Christina Pitts, Matthew Bishop, Brandon Bishop, Britney Askew and Ralee Bishop; two great-grandchildren, Andrew Pitts and Dalton Pitts; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Bernard Schmidt, Steve Smith, Karl Rogers, Chad Amos, Jeff Cooper and Tom Hayden. Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega will direct the service.

HAZEL FAYE LAMBERT

SYLACAUGA - Funeral service for Hazel Faye Lambert, 73, will be Sunday, May 15, at 3 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home chapel in Sylacauga with the Rev. Jimmy Dean and the Rev. Ralph Green officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Sylacauga. Mrs. Lambert died May 12 at Brookwood Medical Center. She was a member of Oldfield Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Maggie Helton; brother, Harold Dean Helton; and sister, Helen Helton Howell. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, James Lambert of Sylacauga; daughter, Patsy Lambert Faulkner and husband Mike of Virginia Beach, Va.; son, James Randall Lambert and wife Marie of Opelika; sister-in-law, Yvonne C. Helton of Sylacauga; two grandchildren, Jim Lambert and Liz Lambert; one great-grandchild, Nicole Leigh Davis; and several nieces and nephews.

DARLENE TURK

PELL CITY - Funeral service for Darlene Turk, 55, will be Sunday, May 15, at 4 p.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home chapel in Pell City with the Rev. Ken Jones officiating. Burial will be in Coosa Valley Cemetery.

Mrs. Turk died May 12. She is survived by her husband, Bill Turk; two sons, Billy Turk and Travis Turk; two daughters, Christina Winslett and Sharon Pohl; two sisters, Sharon Wadkins and Serrica Aaron; 10 grandchildren, Michael Wayne Winslett, Christopher Winslett, Zachery Turk, Katie Turk, Kayla Turk, Joshua Turk, Shelby Rice, Elizabeth Turk, Victoria Winslett and Elyssa Winslett. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:30-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City will direct the service.

NELL J. HEATON TYLER

SYLACAUGA - Funeral service for Nell J. Heaton Tyler, 80, will be Sunday, May 15, at 4 p.m. at Curtis and Son Funeral Home North chapel with the Rev. Jim Arnall officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Tyler died May 13 at Brown Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn R. Heaton and was a member of Odena Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Roger D. Tyler of Sylacauga; son, Robert Wayne Heaton of Panama City, Fla.; two daughters, Glenda Sue Gordon and husband Steve of Goodwater and Celia Ruth Heaton of Marietta, Ga.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 5:30-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Eric Heaton, Mike Ingram, Mark Gordon, Ken Ragsdale, Wade Price and David Vickers. Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel will direct the service.

KELLYTON - Bessie Burton died May 13 at Russell Medical Center. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Wright's Funeral Home.

ALICE LEONA KELLY FEIST

Alice Leona Kelly Feist of Gadsden passed away on Saturday, May 7, after an extended illness. The funeral was held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, in the sanctuary of the First United Methodist Church of Gadsden. Burial followed at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Sylacauga.

Pallbearers were Fredric Warren Feist Jr., Annamaria Leona Feist, Fredric Warren Feist III, Richard Minton Feist Jr., Jack Edward Feist, Valentine Georg Assen Feist, Joe Michael Feist, John Russell Feist, Charles Samuel Kelly and Jim Neill. She is survived by her husband of almost 52 years, Dr. Fredric W. Feist Sr.; daughter, Dr. Alice Caroline Feist Calhoun; sons, Dr. Fredric Warren Feist Jr. and Dr. Richard Minton Feist; daughters-in-law, Lori Jane Dooley Feist, Karen Ann Zokoff Feist; son-in-law, James Walter Calhoun; grandchildren, Richard Minton Feist Jr., Annamaria Leona Feist, Jane Elizabeth Feist, Fredric Warren Feist III, Jack Edward Feist, Josephine Katherine Raina Feist and Valentine Georg Assen Feist. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Bussey Kelly Jr. and Carolyn Ladufsia Johnston Kelly; her maternal grandparents, John Dilmus Johnston and Alice Salter Johnston; and her paternal grandparents, Richard Bussey Kelly and Leona Bledsoe Kelly.

Mrs. Feist was born on Aug. 6, 1931 in Sylacauga. She attended Sylacauga High School and Ward-Belmont in Nashville, Tenn. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in home economics and taught elementary school in Galveston, Texas. She was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority. Mrs. Feist moved to Gadsden in 1964. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church for 41 years. Memorials can be made to the First United Methodist Church of Gadsden Sanctuary Fund or the American Cancer Society. Special thanks to Dr. J. Todd Cross and the other wonderful people involved in her care in the last months of her life. Collier-Butler Funeral Home in Gadsden handled the arrangements.

CAMILLA LEE OGLETREE

TALLADEGA - Graveside service for Camilla Lee Ogletree, 96, will be Monday, May 16, at 1 p.m. in Randolph Memorial Gardens with Dr. Larry Morris officiating. Mrs. Ogletree died May 14 in Talladega. She was a native of Clay County, was a resident of Roanoke for most of her life and was a resident of Talladega since 1971. She was a member of Alpine Baptist Church, the Adult Sunday School Class and was retired from Palm Beach Company. She is survived by one daughter, Jean O. Chase of Oxford; one sister, Sibyl Morris of Talladega; one brother, John Isbell Kirk of Lawton, Okla., three grandchildren, Pam C. Roberts, Cristy C. Humphries and Scott Chase; six great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Sunday from 5:30-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alpine Baptist Church or First Baptist Church of Oxford.

Pallbearers will be Rusty Roberts, Patrick Syer, Todd Humphries, Chad Humphries and Dillon Chase. Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega will direct the service.

G. LENORA OWENS

SYLACAUGA - Graveside service for G. Lenora Owens, 61, will be Sunday, May 15, at 2 p.m. in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. Miss Owens died May 14 at St. Vincent's Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, Collie and Clara Owens. She grew up in Sylacauga and worked at Wachovia Bank in Birmingham. She attended Troy State University. She was loved and a friend of everyone she met. She is survived by two brothers, Charles R. (Buster) Owens of Atlanta and Frankie Owens of Sylacauga; and two sisters, Peggy Blanchard and Debbie Motes of Sylacauga. The family will receive friends Sunday from 12:20 until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Keith Owens, Brian Owens, Lee Motes, Wes Motes and Jason Motes. Honorary pallbearers will be Kim Summersell and Kristy Griffith.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Society. Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel will direct the service.

GEORGE FRANKLIN "RED" STEWART

SYLACAUGA - Funeral service for George Franklin "Red" Stewart, 83, will be Monday, May 16, at 2 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home chapel in Sylacauga with the Rev. John Cosby officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Sylacauga. Mr. Stewart died May 13 at Baptist Medical Center Montclair. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Grace Stewart; granddaughter, Ty Stewart; grandson, Jeffery Stewart; and parents, Judge and Onzell Stewart. He was a veteran of World War II where he served in the U.S. Army in the European Theatre.

He is survived by two daughters, Sandra Johnson of Sylacauga and husband Mickey and Susan Odom of Sylacauga and husband Kenneth; two sons, Bobby Stewart of Clanton and wife Elizabeth and Billy Joe Stewart of Alabaster and wife Marion Lynn; brother, Pete Stewart of Sylacauga; two sisters, Tommie Yates of Morrow, Ga., and Betty Mount of Sylacauga; and 10 grandchildren.
