TALLADEGA - Funeral services for Otis Curry, Jr., 90 of 339 Milam Road, will be Thursday, September 1, at 1:00 p.m. at Morning Star Baptist Church, with the Rev. John T. Ragland and the Rev. Lanoah Ealy officiating. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Curry died Thursday, August 25 at Talladega Healthcare Center. He was a member of Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church. He is survived by daughter, Airlene Jackson, Dayton, OH; Essie Looney, Gadsden; and Mattie Taylor, Talladega; sister Ressie Garrett, Talladega; Eloise Nicholson, FL; brother, Amos Nicholson, At-lanta, GA; 21 grandchildren; 90 great grandchildren; and 16 great-great grand-children. Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary will direct the service.

PEARL FULTON DUNN

VINCENT - Funeral services for Pearl Fulton Dunn, 96, of Vincent formerly of Cleveland Community in Bankston, AL will be Friday, September 2, at Cleveland Church of Christ-Bankston, AL with the Bro. Earl Mitchell officiating. The body will lie in state from 1 until 2pm at the church. Burial will be in Cleveland Church of Christ Cemetery. Mrs. Dunn died Wednesday, August 31, 2005. She is survived by her son, Kedric Dunn of Vincent; daughters, Lawana Dunn Patterson of Pell City and Eadrell Dunn Singleton of Arkansas; brother, Adam (Doc) Fulton of Wyoming; grandchildren, Felix Dunn, Angela Wolf, Russell Patterson, David Sin-gleton and John Singleton; six great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, neph-ews and friends. Visitation will be Thursday, September 1, 2005 from 6 til 9pm at Kilgroe Funeral Home. Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City will direct the serv-ice.

SYLACAUGA - Cora Henderson, 76, died Tuesday, August 30 at Talladega Healthcare Center. Arrangements will be announced by Community Funeral Home.

VIRGINIA CHRISTINE HILL

TALLADEGA - Funeral services for Virginia Christine Hill, will be Friday, Sep-tember 2, at 1:00 p.m. at Usrey Chapel with the Rev. Joe Daniel and the Rev. Bill Huffaker officiating. Burial will be at Pine Hill Memorial Park in Tal-ladega. Mrs. Hill died Wednesday, August 31 at Talladega HealthCare Center. She was preceded in death by parents, Ezra and Irene Estelle Knight and sister, Ruby John Black. She was a native of Shelby Co. but had lived in Talladega most of her life. She was a member of Grace Memorial Baptist Church and a prior member of 1st Baptist Church in Talladega; Member WMU, and Lad Ladies AUX American Le-gion and had been married to her husband Roy W. Hill for 63 years and she was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband, Roy Watson Hill of Talladega; daugh-ter, Drucilla Williams and husband Marvin of Talladega; son, Kenneth Hill and Wife Sandy of St. Louis, Mo; grandchildren, Regina Williams of Talladega; Chris-tine Hill and Katie Hill both of St. Louis Mo; great-grandson, Joseph R.A. Allen of Talladega.

Pallbearers will be Glenn Horn, Vernon Daffron, Billy George, Bobby Pitts, Billy McDowell, Lindy Hill, Bo Hurst, Eddie Holmes. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Jimmy Davis, Dr. David Roberts, Dr. Leigh Murphy, Frank Willis, Bill Wesson, Tommy Blake, John David Johnson. The family will receive friends Thursday, Sep-tember 1 at 9:00 PM at Usrey. The family request that donations be made to Grace Memorial Baptist Church. Usrey Funeral Home, Talladega, will direct the service.

JOHN CARROLL MORRIS, SR.

CHILDERSBURG - Funeral services for John Carroll Morris, Sr., 78, will be Fri-day, September 2 at 2 p.m. at Curtis and Son Childersburg Chapel with the Rev. David Mann and Michael Morris officiating. Burial will be in Greenhill Memorial Gardens. Mr. Morris died Wednesday, August 31 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy C. Morris of 53 years. He is survived by his sons, John C. Morris, Jr. and wife June of Wilsonville, James A. (Sonny) Morris and wife Rosie of Eastaboga; daughters, Doris Zelinda Ogle and husband Ricky of Childersburg, Dorothy Quinell Morris and husband Michael of Clanton; brothers, James Harrell Morris (his twin) of Shelby, and Fernwood Morris of Haleyville; sisters, Doris Sigona of Phoenix, Az., Juanita Whitson of Shelby, 14 grandchil-dren and 16 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday, September 1 from 5-8 at the Childersburg Chapel.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Morris, Phillip Morris, Jim Morris, Steven Morris, Robb Scofield, Chris Wills and Keith Childers. Honorary pallbearers will be Mi-chael Morris, Ricky Ogle and Corroll Hosey. Curtis and Son Funeral Home Child-ersburg Chapel will direct the service.

VINCENT- Funeral services for Willie Roy Clemons, 71, were Tuesday, August 23, 2 p.m. at Coosa Valley Baptist Church. Pastor W.J. Posey officiated. Burial was in Coosa Valley Cemetery. He died August 18th at Coosa Valley Nursing Home. Survi-vors are two loving sisters, Carrie L. Cannon, Ethel M. (Charlie) Pope; one dear brother, Turner (Carolyn) Clemons, Jr., Williamsburg, Va., host of nieces, neph-ews, cousins. Sims Funeral Service directed the service.

RAGLAND - Funeral services for Grace T. Bice, 72, will be Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 2 p.m. at Usrey Chapel in Pell City with the Rev. Joel Maxwell officiating. Burial will be in St. Clair Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Bice died Monday, Sept. 5 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert C. Bice and her parents, Mary and Ervin Thompson, Sr.

She is survived by daughters, Debra Hays and husband Ronald Hays of Jasper, and Dianne Morris and husband Jeff Morris of Talladega; grandchildren, Rhonda McAllister and husband Damon McAllister of Jasper and Ryan Hays of Hernando, Miss.; great grandchildren, Haley and Hope McAllister; sisters, Thelma Crump of Coal City and Dot Brown of Eden; brothers, Ervin Thompson Jr. and wife Peggy Thompson of Pell City and Mike Thompson and wife Betty Thompson of Rainbow City; and a host of family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Hoyt Crump, Leslee Brown, Jason Goodgame, Greg Crump, Mark Masterson, Brad Harbin. Honorary pallbearers will be Adrick Goodgame and Damon McAllister. Usrey Funeral Home in Pell City will direct the service.

ARMUCHEE, GA. - William L. Cook, 69, formerly of Talladega, died Monday, Sept. 5 in Armuchee, GA. Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary will announce arrangements.

INEZ RAY FORD

AURORA, Ill. - Funeral service for Inez R. Ford, 84, will be Thursday, Sept. 8, at 11 a.m. at Usrey-Brown Funeral Home 516 North, Talladega. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Ford went to be with her Lord on Saturday, Sept. 3 at Rush-Copley Medical Center. She was born May 25, 1921, in Lineville, Ala. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church for over 50 years. She retired from Frunas Electric after 15 years of service.

Mrs. Ford was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey D. Ford in 2001; her parents, Hubert Bentley (Edna Clide) Ray; and brothers, Willis Ray and George Ray. She is survived by her daughter, Edna Lloyd of Aurora; grandchildren Peggy (Darrell) Robbins of Oswego, Barry (Kim) Lloyd of Yorkville; great-grandchildren, Ashley and Brittney Robbins and Karl and Kenny Lloyd; brothers, Hubert Ray Jr. and Nolan Ray; sisters, Elizabeth Cater and Juanita Pitts.

She is also survived by nieces, nephews and a large extended family. Visitation will be Wednesday, Sept. 7, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. CATHY KING HENDON

BIRMINGHAM - Cathy King Hendon, 44, died Saturday, Sept. 3. She was preceded in death by her father, Ruben K. King. She is survived by her husband, James Hendon; mother, Betty G. Humphries; daughter, Miranda Lynch; stepsons, Chris and Tyler Hendon; granddaughter, Willoe Watkins; brother, Michael G. King; stepbrother, Paul Humphries. A graveside service will be at on Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 11 a.m. at Forest Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Cathy's name to the Susan G. Komen Foundation or the American Cancer Society. Johns Ridout's Funeral Parlors Southside Chapel directing.

ENSLEY MARTIN

SYLACAUGA - Funeral services for Ensley Martin, 79, will be Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 1 p.m. at Curtis and Son North Chapel with the Rev. Don Grice and the Rev. Larry Lindley officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Martin died Monday, Sept. 5 at Coosa Valley Medical Center. He was retired from Avondale Mills; a native of Sylacauga; and a Veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Martin of Sylacauga; son, Van Blackburn of Sylacauga; daughter, Marna Liveoak of Sylacauga; brother, Leonard Martin of Sylacauga; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Van Blackburn, Marty Liveoak, Jamie Liveoak, Alvin Dennis, Terry Martin and Jerry Martin. Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel will direct the service.

RANDY ALAN MORRIS

DALTON, GA. - Randy Alan Morris, 51, died Monday, September 5, 2005 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Morris; grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Dewey Morris and Mr. & Mrs. Robert M. Ray. He was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church in East Brainerd, Tenn. Randy was in Advertising and Sales in the Textile industry. He is survived by his wife, Deanna Young Morris of the residence; daughter and son-in-law, Memoree Joelle-Scott and Richard Thomas Scott of Brooklyn, NY., Alexandra Morris of Dalton; step-son, Private First Class Taylor A. Gilstrap of Dalton; mother, Marie Morris of Dalton; sisters and brother-in-law, Anne and John Sane, Kim Bunch all of Dalton; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Betty and Mike Young of Decatur, AL.; niece and nephew, Ashley Sane and Chandler Bunch. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Dennis Newton Officiating. Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ron Coleman, Drew Barton, Jason Carroll, Bobby Littlejohn, Roger Brock, Shawn Medlin, Adam Smith and Mark Williams. MARTHA ANN BENTON

PIKE MESA, AZ. - Martha Ann Benton Pike, 67, died Monday, Sept. 5. Radney Smith Funeral Home will announce arrangements.

MACK PITTMAN

LIGHTWOOD - Mack Pittman, 91, a resident of Lightwood Community died peacefully on Sunday, September 4, 2005 at his home. Funeral services will be at on Wednesday, September 7, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. from Union Congregational Church with the Rev. Bill Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Gassett Funeral Home of Wetumpka directing. Mr. Pittman was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was an outstanding member of the Lightwood Community. He was a member of Union Congregational Church and the Lightwood Volunteer Fire Department. He retired as a pipefitter and was a member of the 91 pipefitters Union for over 50 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Libbie Pittman, two brothers and six sisters. He is survived by his four sons, Mack E. (Ruthie) Pittman of Childersburg, AL, James Paul (Dianne) Pittman of Lightwood, Jerry E. (Dell) Pittman of Lightwood and Robert L. (June) Abrams of Millbrook; three daughters, Dona P. (George) Watson of Lightwood, Patty P. Norris of Millbrook, and Sheila P. (Larry) Roy of Charlotte, NC; sister, Sadie Conner of Wetumpka; nineteen grandchildren, thirty-six great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Mickey Pittman, Rockey Pittman, Byron Shell, Andy Watson, John Norris, and Brad Watson. Honorary pallbearers will be Stevie Pittman, Kerry Pittman, Bobby Abrams, and Michael Abrams. Flowers will be accepted or donations to the Alacare Hospice. He will lie-in-state at the church 30 minutes prior to services.

DRUCILLA M. RICH

PELL CITY - Funeral service for Drucilla M. Rich, 88, will be Thursday, Sept. 8 at 11 a.m. at Ashville First Baptist Church with Dr. James Sampley officiating. Burial will be in Marshall Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Rich died Monday, Sept. 5 in Birmingham.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lon and Addie McClusky; her husband, Clarence Robert Rich; and her brother, Walter McClusky. She is survived by her cousins, Hope Walker of Mentone and Minnie Mae Payne of Hartselle; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday, Sept. 8 from 10-11 a.m. at the church. Usrey Funeral Home in Pell City will direct the service.

SYLACAUGA - Funeral services for Helen Joyce Weathers, 80, were Monday, Sept. 5 at 2 p.m. at Curtis and Son North Chapel with the Rev. Todd Reaves officiating. Burial was in the Old Weogufka Cemetery. Mrs. Weathers died Saturday, Sept. 3 at Coosa Valley Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence D. Weathers; mother, Velvia P. Davis; father, Joseph N. Davis; and brother, Leonard J. Davis. She is survived by sisters, Ruby Davis Rayfield of Sylacauga, Anna Lois Moore and husband Dr. Charles Moore of Sylacauga, Christine Cannon and husband Rayford Cannon of Sylacauga, and Loretta Collins of Sylacauga; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Pallbearers were Harold Brooks, Eddie Varnadore, Willie Matson, L.C. McMurphy, Gerald Armstrong, and David Hicks. Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel directed.

ECLECTIC - Funeral services for Lurea Jarvis Eason, 82, will be Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 2 p.m. at Hepzibah Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenny Hill and Freddie Green officiating. Burial will be in Hepzibah Baptist Cemetery. Mrs. Eason died Monday, Sept. 12 at Community Hospital in Eclectic. She was a native of Oklahoma but was a resident of Talladega County most of her life; she had resided in Eclectic since 2003. She was a former member of Hepzibah Baptist Church and a member of Good Hope Baptist Church in Eclectic. She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. "Buster" Eason; parents, Thomas Otis and Minnie Jolley Jarvis; brother, Marshall Jarvis; and sister, Elizabeth Irene Jarvis. She is survived by daughters, Danna Eason Smith and husband Wayne of Eclectic and Sharon Eason Owen and husband Charles of Gilbertown; grandchildren, Emily Meacham, Maeghan Smith, Shelley Smith, David Owen and wife Stacey and Taylor Owen; brother, Walter Jarvis of Murphreesboro, Tenn.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Samaritans Purse of Good Hope Baptist Church Building Fund.

Pallbearers will be John Frazier, George Mullins, Ricky Burk, Tony McGhee, Mac Ferguson, and Frankie "Beaver" Tinsley. Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega will direct the service.

DUSTIN LANE FORD

RAGLAND - Funeral services for Dustin Lane Ford, 9, will be Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 11 a.m. at Usrey Chapel in Pell City with burial in Ragland Methodist Cemetery. Master Ford died Monday, Sept. 12 in Birmingham. He was a honor student at Ragland Elementary earning straight A's last year. He excelled in sports. He played basketball, football, baseball, and soccer, wearing #28.

He is survived by his father, Michael Brian Ford of Ragland; his mother, Racheal Lynn Isbell (Tommy) of Moody; sister, Kinley Rose Isbell of Moody; step-brother, Adam Edward Isbell of Moody; grandparents, David and Pat Ford of Ragland and Kenneth and Frances Tipton of Ragland; great grandmother, Farris Kirk of Piedmont; four aunts; three uncles; and numerous cousins.

Pallbearers will be Matt Williamson, Jason Phillips, David Burnham, Derrick Campbell, Runt Campbell, Harold Burnham Jr., Vaughn Lindsey, and Ervin Moss. Honorary pallbearers will be the 4th grade students and teachers of Ragland Elementary School and members of Ragland Little League. Usrey Funeral Home in Pell City will direct the service.

KATHY FAYE LEE HASLEY

PELL CITY - Funeral services for Kathy Faye Lee Hasley, 39, will be Wednesday, September 14 at 2 p.m. at Kilgroe Chapel with Bro. Bobby Walker and Bro. Howard Wayne Walker officiating. Burial will be in Walker Family Cemetery.

Ms. Hasley was preceded in death by her father, Windell Lee. She is survived by son, Craig Hasley; daughter, Brandy Hasley; mother, Linda Lee; sisters, Cindy Howard and Jennifer Lee; brothers, Brandon Lee and Tommy Lee; nine nieces and nephews; grandparents, Michael and Bertie Walker Stephens; and several aunts and uncles.

Pallbearers will be Keith Walker, Wade Walker, Nolen Walker, Barry Walker, Brian Poteracki, and Kevin Poteracki. Standby: Ralph Howard. Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City will direct the services.

MILDRED I. LYLE SYLACAUGA - Mildred I. Lyle, 96, died Tuesday, September 13 at Goodwater Health Care. Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel will announce arrangements.

CHILDERSBURG - Funeral services for Lottie Laverne Motes, 66, will be Thursday, Sept. 15 at 2 p.m. at Curtis and Son Childersburg Chapel with the Rev. Donald Grice and the Rev. Donnie Blackmon officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery. Mrs. Motes died Tuesday, Sept. 13 at Coosa Valley Medical Center.

She was preceded in death by her son, Winston Motes and daughter, Sharon Young. She is survived by sons, Bernard Sims and wife Wendy of Childersburg and Virgil Motes Jr. and wife Jennifer of Sylacauga; 10 grandchildren; husband, Virgil Motes Sr. of Georgia; numerous nephews and nieces. Visitation will be Wednesday, Sept. 14 from 5:30-9 p.m. at the Childersburg Chapel.

Pallbearers will be David Lewis, Dustin Isbell, David Hay, Kevin Hay, Emory Hay, and Donald Isbell. Curtis and Son Funeral Home Childersburg Chapel will direct the service.
