CHILDERSBURG — Mrs. Louise M. Fleming, age 82, passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at her residence. Curtis and Son Funeral Home Childersburg Chapel will announce arrangements.

CHILDERSBURG — Yvonne R. Spencer, 72, died July 2, 2008 at Coosa Valley Medical Center. Radney-Smith Funeral Home will announce arrangements.

GEORGE TRAYLOR

CHILDERSBURG — Funeral services for George Traylor, 84, will be at on Thursday, July 3, at 1 p.m. at the Enon Missionary Baptist Church in Childersburg. Burial will be in the Lilly Rhoden Cemetery. the Rev. Calvin Cunningham will be officiating. Mr. Traylor passed on June 27, 2008 at his residence. He is survived by his two daughters, Nellie V. Youngblood and Mary T. McGregor both of Childersburg; four sons, Apostle Henry D. Traylor of Childersburg, Minister Willie G. Traylor of Vincent, Johnny Traylor of Harpersville and Kelvin Traylor of Birmingham; two goddaughters, Franki and Sherry Traylor both of Childersburg; godchildren, James and Carolyn Yowe both of Childersburg; 34 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be the grandsons. Flowerbearers will be granddaughters. Community Funeral Home will direct the service.

SYLACAUGA — Mr. Milton Whaley, age 81, passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at St. Vincent's Hospital. Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel will announce arrangements.

IDA MAE KEEBLER BRADSHAW

ANNISTON — Funeral services for Ida Mae Keebler Bradshaw, 73, will be Saturday, July 5, at 12 noon at Kilgroe Chapel, Pell City, with the Rev. D. Whitt Hibbs officiating. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Gardens and Mausoleum, Anniston. Mrs. Bradshaw died July 2, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Dempsey Bradshaw. She is survived by a sister, Dorothy Keebler Burke; three aunts, Mary McCullough Bagwell, Ellen Keller and Ruth Atchley; nieces, Debra Burke Carroll and Kathryn Burke; and great nephew, Joshua Craig Stevens. Visitation will be Saturday, July 5, from 11 a.m.-12 noon at Kilgroe Funeral Home. Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City will direct the services.

JACQUELINE A. COOGLER

LINCOLN — Funeral Mass for Mrs. Jacqueline A. Coogler, age 70, will be Saturday, July 5, at 11 a.m. at the St. Peters Episcopal Church in Talladega with Father Ray Waldon officiating. Mrs. Coogler passed away July 2, 2008 at St. Vincent's St. Clair Medical Center in Pell City. Survivors are her husband, Warner Geary Coogler Sr. of Lincoln; four sons, Warner Geary Coogler Jr. of Talladega, L. Scott Coogler of Tuscaloosa, Kevin E. Coogler of Florence and Andrew Shea Coogler of Nevada, IA; one sister, Gayle Chappel of Geraldine; two brothers, Bill Bailes of Houston, Texas, and John C. Bailes of Goodwater; and 15 grandchildren. Mrs. Coogler was a native of Birmingham and had been a resident of Lincoln for the past 12 years. She was a homemaker and a member of the St. Peters Episcopal Church. She was very active in the Talladega Heritage Hall and was a member of the Daughters of the King. The family will receive friends at the church after the funeral mass Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Peters Episcopal Church. Talladega Funeral Home will direct the service.

LOUISE McCONATHA FLEMING

CHILDERSBURG — Funeral service for Mrs. Louise M. Fleming, age 82, will be Saturday, July 5, at 11 a.m. at Curtis and Son Childersburg Chapel with the Rev. Tony McGrady officiating. Burial will be in Greenhill Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Fleming was called home to the Lord on Wednesday, July 2, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Fleming; and son, Fray Fleming. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Childersburg for over 60 years. She has touched the lives of many with her wonderful ways and will be fothe Rever remembered and cherished by daughter, Marilyn Fleming Traylor (Tom) of Chelsea; granddaughter, Alice James (Chris) of Castlerock, Colo.; grandsons, Peter Traylor (Andrea) of Flagstaff, Ariz., and Andrew Traylor (Amie) of Talladega; great granddaughters, Lauren and Riley of Castlerock, Colo.; sisters, Maude McLain and Jean Smith (Gene); brothers, Comer McConatha and Victor McConatha all of the Sylacauga area; and numerous extended family members and friends. Visitation will be Saturday, July 5, from 9-11 a.m. at Curtis and Son Childersburg Chapel.

Pallbearers are Wesley Donahoo, Mike Donahoo, Ben Knight, Marvin Gober, Jerald Cantrell and Max Cantrell. Curtis and Son Funeral Home Childersburg Chapel will direct the service.

DAVID TILTON GRAVETTE

SYLACAUGA — Funeral services for David Tilton Gravette, 81, will be at Saturday, July 5, at Curtis and Son North Chapel. Visitation will be at the Chapel on July 5, from 11-11:30 a.m. for family and 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. for the friends. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. David, known to the men at Kimberly-Clark as "Moe" and to many others as "Mr. Dave" passed away July 2, 2008 at St. Vincent's Hospital. David was a lifetime resident of Talladega County where he worked in construction for brief periods before returning to work at Kimberly-Clark for 35 years. He was a 60 year member of Local 91 of the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union. He owned and operated Gravette and Sons Plumbing for many years. He was a Blue Lodge Mason (Member of 929 F. and A.M. Lodge), a York rite Mason and a Shriner. Mr. Gravette was a long time member of Marble City Baptist Church. A heartfelt "thank you" to the doctors especially Dr. Patricia Patterson, the nurses and assistants, especially 5 West and the Pastoral Care Department of St. Vincent's Hospital for their kindness, compassion and care. David touched many lives in Talladega County. He did plumbing work for many people in Talladega County and touched many lives in other ways. He lived to work. David is survived by his wife, Lynn of Sylacauga; one son, Michael Craig Gravette Sr. and wife Julie of Childersburg; daughters, Memorie Gravette Blacklock of Aledo, Texas, Renee Gravette Naugher and husband Jack of Center Point, Jan Gravette Brasher of Sylacauga; step-daughters, Lynnette Bates Burton of Birmingham, Julia Bates McQuinn and husband Stuart of Fort Washington, Wis.; brother, Ralph K. Gravette and wife Ruth of Sylacauga; sister, Mary Edna Talbert; grandchildren, Michelle husband Jason, Amber husband Christian, Michael, David, Jessie, Christopher, Brandi, M.J., Jeremy, Lee; great grandchildren, Austin, Bailey, Hayden, Rylee, Dagen, Sydney. Masons will serve as pallbearers at the graveside. He was an avid Auburn Tiger "WAR EAGLE". Mr. Gravette will have a Masonic graveside. Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel will direct the services.

KELLYTON — Funeral service for Charles L. Higgins, 71, is July 5, at 2 p.m. at Peace and Goodwill Baptist Church. Armour's Memorial Funeral Home will direct.

TONQUERRIUS LARON MILLER

LINCOLN — Funeral services for Mr. Tonquerrius Laron Miller, age 21, will be Saturday, July 5, at 1 p.m. at Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Lincoln, with the Rev. J. Stafford Rowser Jr., the Rev. Timothy Huffman, the Rev. Brian Miller and the Rev. George Truss officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Church Cemetery, Lincoln. Mr. Miller will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to service. Mr. Miller died June 30, 2008 in Lincoln. He was educated in the Talladega County School System; a member of Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Curtis Truss. He is survived by his father, Tony Green of Lincoln; mother, Cecilla A. Miller of Lincoln; brothers, Devoris Miller, Zacary Green, Anthony Butler all of Lincoln; sisters, Alexsis Green and Cindy Holcomb both of Lincoln; grandparents, Charlie (Annie) Miller and Edwina Truss all of Lincoln; and special friend, Melissa Threatt of Lincoln. Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary will direct the services.

ALMON ELMO PARKS

ALPINE — Graveside services for Mr. Almon Elmo Parks, age 80, will be Saturday, July 5, at 2 p.m. at the Hepzibah Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Lee Roy Shaw Sr. and Lee Roy Shaw Jr. officiating. Mr. Parks passed away July 2, 2008 at Citizens BMC in Talladega. Survivors are his wife, Mildred A. "Billie" Parks of Alpine; one daughter, Marie Moses (Gary) of Alpine; one son, Allan Parks (Jo Ann Reed) of Alpine; one sister, Elizabeth Dunn of Alpine; three grandchildren, Jason A. Parks (Amy), Lacy McCullers (Edward), Lindsey Moses; two great grandchildren, Brent Parks and Mason McCullers. Mr. Parks is preceded in death by his parents, Almon E. and Edna Earl Parks; also a sister, Betty Smith. Active pallbearers are Buron Taylor, Edward McCullers, Mike Hill, Guy Smith Jr., Charles Brownlow and Leroy Shaw Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Hiram Estes, Billy Crowe and H.L. Hill. Mr. parks was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega County. He was a member of the Shiloh Methodist Church and was a retired supervisor with the Independent Life Insurance Company for some 30 years. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 6-9 p.m. Talladega Funeral Home will direct the services.

DAVID H. BROWN
PELL CITY — Graveside service for Mr. David H. Brown, 50, will be Thursday, July 10, at 2 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Cemetery with the Rev. John A. Brown officiating. Mr. Brown died Saturday, July 5, 2008 in Birmingham. He was preceded in death by Jessie Brown, John Church and Vera DeCora. Survivors are daughters, Cherie Strickland and Nicole Strickland; mother, Pat Church; grandson, Taylor Strickland; sisters, Sunny Brown, Sonia Santiago and JoAnn (Michael) Hawthorne; and brothers, John (Hazel) Brown, Robert (Cheryl) Brown, Curtis (Ferrah) Church, Ricky (Teresa) Church, James (Alecia) Church and Danny (Gerri) Church. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Usrey Funeral Home in Pell City will direct the service.

SYLACAUGA — Ora Lee Brown, 78, died July 5, 2008 at Sylacauga Health Care. Arrangements will be announced by Childersburg Mortuary.

CORNELIUS LEROY Carter SR.

SYLACAUGA — Funeral services for Cornelius Leroy Carter Sr., 85, are Wednesday, July 9, at 1 p.m. from the Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Childersburg with Pastor Freddie Flanagan officiating. Interment will be in the Tallassahatchie Cemetery. Mr. Carter died Saturday, July 5, 2008 at Coosa Valley Medical Center.

Survivors include two daughters, Vannessa Williams, Baltimore, MD, and Malichia Starks, Alex City; one son, Cornelius L. Carter Jr., Sylacauga; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was a native of Talladega and retired from Avondale Mills. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Carter.

Pallbearers are Brent Carter, Eric Carter, Edward Carter, LaVal Carter, Myric Carter and Dwight Carter. Childersburg Mortuary will direct the services.

HENRY C. HARRIS

MONTGOMERY — Funeral service for Mr. Henry C. Harris, 77, will be Wednesday, July 9, at 1 p.m. at Curtis and Son North Chapel with the Rev. Donnie Blackmon officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Harris passed away July 6, 2008 at his residence. He was a native of Sylacauga. The family extends its gratitude to Baptist Health Hospice of Montgomery. The level of care and compassionate support provided by each of you helping us throughout this difficult time. Thank you for touching lives in such a positive way. Survivors are his wife, Joyce Harris of Montgomery; daughters, Alice Miller of Wilmer and Teresa F. Dungan of Montgomery; sons, Kenneth Ray Harris of Prattville, Brian D. Interment will be in Odena Baptist Cemetery in Sylacauga. Mrs. Haywood died Sunday, July 6, 2008 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Haywood; son, Kenneth Haywood; brothers, Noah Vick and Buddy Vick; sisters, Faye Wilkens and Francis Lane. She was a member of New Vision Congregational Church. Survivors are sons, Bobby Haywood of Auburn, Ga., Jerry Haywood of McDonough, Ga., Edward Haywood and Ricky Haywood both of Sylacauga; daughters, Mary Catherine Haywood of Bon Air, Brenda Eddings of Sylacauga and Sandra Woodall of Deatsville; brother, Billy Carden of Sylacauga; 24 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. DOUGLAS LYNN LEWIS

WILSONVILLE — Funeral service for Doug Lynn Lewis, age 36, will be Wednesday, July 9, at 11 a.m. at Bolton-Letlow Funeral Home. The service will be officiated by the Rev. Jerry Burton and the Rev. Mitch Underwood. Burial will follow at Pinelawn Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 8, at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Mr. Lewis, who passed away Friday, July 4, 2008 at his home, was born on July 16, 1971 in Sylacauga. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dale McManus. He is survived by his parents, Bill and Debbie Martin, Terry Lewis; son, Bradley Lewis; brothers, Daniel (Crystal) Lewis, Joey Lewis, Donald (Tammy) Isbell, David Lewis; sisters, April Shaw, Wendy Sims, Terra (William) Harris; and a host of other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Joey Lewis, David Lewis, Ray Kelley, Eugene Poe, Richard Poe, Brian Thornton, William Harris and Ronny Gates. Bolton-Letlow Funeral Home is directing.

TALLADEGA SPRINGS — Funeral service for Mrs. Carole Livingston, 63, will be Tuesday, July 8, at 2 p.m. at Mignon Baptist Church with the Rev. Todd Reaves and the Rev. Chuck Kornegay officiating. Burial will be in Talladega Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Livingston passed away July 5, 2008 at Coosa Valley Medical Center. She was a native of Sylacauga and a registered nurse at Coosa Valley Medical Center. Survivors are a daughter, Kimber and husband Donnie Wickersham of Sylacauga; son, Bruce L. Livingston Jr. and wife Marie of Sylacauga; brothers, Terry C. Culver and wife Renee of Sylacauga and Wade and wife Ginny Culver of Hagerstown, Md.; grandchildren, Serena Murphree, Walter Livingston, and Alexander "Lex" Livingston; step grandchildren, Donald Wickersham and Leesa Wickersham; a host of nieces and nephews; and special friends, Doug and Barbara Murphree and Fred and Barbara Kornegay.
