Funeral services for W.L. Mask, 88, of Ourtown will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004, at Russell Farm Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, 2004, at Radney Funeral Home and will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services.

Mr. Mask died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2004.

Radney Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Benie Mae Miles

1920-2004

Funeral services for Benie Mae Miles, 84, of Opelika were at 2 p.m. Monday, March 29, 2004, at Frederick's Funeral Home. Rev. Gerald Sykes officiated. Burial followed at Garden Hills Cemetery. Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 28, 2004.

Mrs. Miles died Friday, March 26, 2004, at Russell Medical Center. She was born in 1920, in Lee County. She retired from West Point Pepperell after 46 years of service.

She is survived by three daughters, Clara Fuller of Waverly, Shirley Hartley of Tallassee, Sherry Hall of Alexander City; five grandchildren, Marvin "Buster" Bullard of Opelika, Missy Thomas and Renee Hand, both of Tallassee, Lisa McGregor and Tracy Thornton, both Alexander City; one sister, Ovelia Dupriest of Columbus, GA.; 11 great-grandchildren, Chassity Bullard, Kristen, Brooke, Whittney and Brittney Hand, Blake and Kyle Dickinson, Blaine and Brian McGregor, Austin, Michael Thornton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Miles.

Frederick's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Manassa Holley

1920-2004

Graveside services for Manassa Holley, 84, of Alexander City will be at 1 p.m. Friday, April 23, 2004, at Camp Hill Cemetery. The Rev. David Tucker will officiate.

Mr. Holley died Sunday, April 18, 2004, at Chapman Healthcare Center. He was born Feb. 11, 1920, to Earthly and Jannie Tinsley Holley.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lee Holley of Alexander City; five daughters, Marie Clark of Alexander City, Mattie Mae Holley, Flossie Harrison and Josephine Burke, all of LaGrange, Ga., and Erica Robinson of Louisiana; one son, Henry Lee Holley of Columbus, Ga.; three sister, Lorean Wright of Alexander City, Mary Frances Harris and Margaret Holley, both of Detroit; two brothers, Clarence Holley of Alexander City and Horace Holley of Detriot; 19 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four sisters-in-law, Annie Holley, Pearl Berry, Lenora Wyckoff and Atha Lindsey, all of Alexander City; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Wright's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Doris Lester Hicks

1920-2004

Funeral services for Doris Lester Hicks, 83, of Wedowee will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 4, 2004, at Woods Presbyterian Church. The Revs. Mike Samuels and Wade Acton will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday, June 4, 2004, at Woods Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Hicks died Wednesday, June 2, 2004. She was born Friday, July 9, 1920, to Jesse Carl and Reba Coker Lester. She was a veteran of World War II and was a graduate of Tallapoosa County High School and Massey Draughon Business School. She was a member of Woods Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by seven sisters, Claire L. Leach of Florence, S.C., Evelyn L. Bailey of Manassas, Va., Wylodene L. White of Dadeville, Colleen L. Davis of Jackson's Gap and Virginia L. Yates and her husband Bryan of New Site, Geneva L. Messer and her husband Tony R. of Wedowee and Sandra L. Rodgers and her husband Hugh of Columbus, Ga.; one brother, Jesse Coker Lester and his wife Nancy of Lakewood, Calif., and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Hicks, and her parents.

Pallbearers will be Barry Messer, Tony Ray Messer, Lee Messer, Allan Robertson, Richard White and Hulond Humphries.

Funeral services for David Gray of Macon, Ga., formerly of Alexander City will be at 4 p.m. Friday, June 4, 2004, at Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church in Macon, Ga. The Rev. Sam Johnson will officiate. Hicks and Son Mortuary Inc. is in charge of the arrangements.

Pratha Joy "P.J." Owenby Crozier

1969-2004

Memorial services for Pratha Joy "P.J." Owenby Crozier, 33, of Tallassee were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, 2004, at First Baptist Church of Eclectic. Rev. Mark Smith officiated. Visitation was from 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, 2004 until service time at the church.

Mrs. Crozier died Friday, June 4, 2004, at in Tallassee. She was born Sept. 8, 1969, in East Tallassee to Charles Harlan Owenby and Joy Gabel Owenby. She was a graduate of Elmore County High School and was a charter member of the Elmore County Maroon Machine Marching Band. In her senior year she was awarded the John Phillips Sousa Award. She was also a United States Marine Corp veteran of Desert Storm. A Southern Baptist by faith, she was a loving mother and a wonderful wife.

She is survived by her husband, Donni Crozier of Tallassee; two sons, Scott Owenby and Trey Crozier; four daughters; Meaghen Owenby, Allyssa Klein, Kati Crozier and Faith Crozier; parents Charles Harlan Owenby and Joy Gabel Owenby; mother-in-law Barbara Crozier; two brothers, Christopher and wife Tiffany Owenby, Michael Owenby, all of Califonia; four sisters, Charlette Owenby Wilson, April Owenby Holton and husband Michael, Grace Owenby and Erin Owenby, all of Eclectic, two nephews and four nieces.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to a trust fund for her children at First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 240400, Eclectic, Al 36024.

Lila Belle Kasinger

1910-2004

Graveside services for Lila Belle Kasinger, 93, of Alexander City will be held at Crescent Hill Cemetery in Adria, Mo.

Mrs. Kasinger died July 31, 2004, at Adams Nursing Home. She was born Dec. 23, 1910, in Nebraska.

She is survived by one daughter, Betty Bland and husband Hubert of Jackson's Gap; four grandchildren, Gomer Bland and wife Janice of Jackson's Gap, Dan Bland and wife Catherine of Alexander City, Mike Bland and wife Jana of Cragford and Kenny Bland and wife JoAnn of Alexander City; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Gomer Wilson and Charles Kasinger and one son, Jimmy Wilson.

Atkinson Funeral Home of Adria, Mo., and Heritage Chapel Funeral Home of Alexander City are in charge of arrangements.

Marie Moss Ware

1944-2004

Funeral services for Marie Moss Ware, 60, of Camp Hill will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug 9., 2004, at Beulah Baptist Church. Rev. Jerry Gibson will officiate. Interment will in the Brummitt Cemetery, in Camp Hill. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 8, 2004.

Mrs. Ware died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004, at Bethany House in Auburn. She was born and raised in New Adka Community and lived in Camp Hill. She worked as a teacher, supervisors and bookkeeper with Head Start Program, as an administrative assistant and bookkeeper with Lyman Ward military Academy, as a bookkeeper with the city of Camp Hill, and as an office supervisor for Auburn Day Care Center in Auburn. She was also a member of Beulah Baptist Church No. 2, where she served in many areas such as singing in the choir and making programs.

She is survived by her husband, James F. Ware, of Camp Hill; one son, Ramon Ware, of Modesto, Cal.; one daughter, Tonja Turner and Sheldon of High Point, North Carolina; her father, John Moss and Ann of Dadeville; three sisters, Sarah Johnson and Samuel of Phenix, LaVon Jennings and James of Washington D.C., Sue Moss of Montgomery; one brother, Eddie moss and Grace of San Diego, C.A.; three grandchildren, Desiree Porter, Simone Ware and Adre Ware, all of Modesto; a host of nieces, nephews and many more relatives and friends.

Palmer Williams

1916-2004

Funeral services for Palmer Williams, age 88, of Alexander City will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2004, at Trinity United Methodist Church. He will lie instate one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Robert Lancaster will officiate. Burial will follow at Hillview Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2004, at Radney Funeral Home.

Mr. Williams died Monday, Aug. 9, 2004, at Chapman Healthcare Center. He was born on May 11, 1916, in Clay County to Tallman Williams and Elizabeth Phillips Williams. He was a mason for 55 years and for the last eight years, he diligently visited the sick and shut-in's of the community. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where he was an honorary member of the Church Council, and held numerous offices and positions and was a member of the Men's Club, having sold the most brunswick stew tickets for several years. He owned K&W Furniture and also worked at King's Furniture.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred "Billie" Williams of Alexander City; one son, Wayne C. Williams of Alexander City; two grandchildren, Jeffrey T. Williams and wife Candy of Valley and Kimberly W. Powell and husband Steve of Alexander City; four great-grandchildren, Lynlee Powell and J.B. Powell, both of Alexander City and Jeffrey Todd Williams, Jr. and Palmer James Williams, both of Valley; three nieces, Rita Irwin of Clarksville, Tenn., Janet Bailey of Alexander City, and Donna Carden of Rockford; five great-nieces and great-nephews, Richard Bailey, Jason Bailey, Jenna Bailey, Shane Irwin, and Nicole Irwin; one brother, Troy E. Williams of Asheville, N.C.; and two sisters, Mittie Brock and Inez McClain, both of Alexander City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Newman Williams and Willis Williams.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Building Fund at Trinity United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 726, Alexander City, AL 35011.

Allene A. Bridges

1923-2004

Graveside services for Allene A. Bridges, 81, of Mableton, Ga., and formerly of Goodwater were at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, 2004, at Greenview Cemetery in Goodwater. The Rev. Pete McElrath officiated. Visitation was from 6:30 to 8:30 Friday, Aug. 13, 2004, at Radney Funeral Home.

Mrs. Bridges died Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004, at her residence. She was born Jan. 10, 1923, in Opelika to Major Gray Andrews Sr. and Zether Miller Andrews.

She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Bridges of Mableton, Ga.; one granddaughter, Tara Sanders of Austell, Ga.; and one great-granddaughter, Kennedy Sanders of Austell, Ga.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Cleveland Bridges Sr. and one son, Johnny Bridges.

L.V. Jones

1920-2004

Graveside services for Mr. L.V. Jones, 84, of Alexander City will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2004, at Hillview Memorial Park. The Rev. Donald Bailey will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2004 at Radney Funeral Home.

Mr. Jones died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2004 in Lascassas, Tenn. He was born June 18, 1920 in Clay County to Loomis Jones and Tressie Smith Jones. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the Army and Air Force.

He is survived by his wife, Maude Kenady Jones of Alexander City; one son, Steve Jones and wife Lori of Lascassas, Tenn. and one sister, Evelyn Adams of Ashland.

Radney Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
