Luella Pearl Posey, age 93, of Russellville, passed away Thursday, December 2, 2004, at Burns Nursing Home.
Mrs. Posey was a native of Birmingham but had made her home in Russellville for the past three years. She was a member of Tharptown Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin Posey; a still born baby Posey; and Ray Posey.
Graveside funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 4, 2004, at Midway Cemetery
in Birmingham.
Mrs. Posey is survived by a grandson, Scott Thomas and wife Tammy; and three great-grandchildren, Janna Shirey, Tristin Thomas and Kayla Shae Thomas, all of Russellville.

Henry James Cooper, age 83, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, passed away Friday, November 26, 2004, at his residence.
Mr. Cooper was born August 2, 1921, in Franklin County. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. He retired from Genesco and was a member of the Church of Christ.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 30, 2004, at Spry Funeral Home Chapel with Bud White officiating. Interment was in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Cooper is survived by his wife, Mae Dell Cooper; a son, Jack Cooper of Ringgold, Georgia; a daughter, Frieda Marshall of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; a sister, Rebecca Cartee of Franklin, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Todd Cooper of Ft. Valley, Georgia, Shawn Cooper of Marianna, Florida, and Amy Marshall of Nashville; a great-grandson, Jacob Thornton Cooper of Ft. Valley, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.

Russell "Ted" Goddard, age 72, of Russellville, passed away Friday, November 26, 2004.
Mr. Goddard was a native of Kentucky and was employed as a truck driver for Shoals Trucking. He was a member of the Catholic Faith and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Goddard was preceded in death by his wife, Flora Annette Broadway; and his parents, Howard and Daisy Goddard.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, November 29, 2004, at Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mark Daniels officiating. Interment was in Belgreen Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Goddard is survived by four sons, Teddy Goddard of Ohio, Ricky Goddard and wife Leanne, of Russellville, Timmy Goddard of Ohio, and Gary Goddard of Ohio; five daughters, Kay Doyle of Ohio, Penny Ford of Ohio, Jennifer DeVaney of Russellville, Candy Goddard of Ohio, and Tonya Goddard of Russellville; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Hugh Weatherford Hester, age 83, of Red Bay, passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2004, at ECM Hospital.
Mr. Hester was a native of Alabama. He was retired from the furniture manufacturing industry after 25 years and was owner of Antique Furniture Reproductions. He was a member of Red Bay First Baptist Church, where he taught the men's Sunday School class for many years. Mr. Hester was a member of Gideon Society and Red Bay's Masonic Lodge and was a charter member of Racking Horse Breeders Association. He was preceded in death by his parents, Velsor and Audrey Hester; and a grandson, Michael McCarthy.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 27, 2004, at First Baptist Church in Red Bay with Rev. Larry Hill officiating. Interment was in Red Bay City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Lowell Humphres, Eucellis Underwood, Oneal Woods, Herb Cooper, Billy Bolton and James Overton. Jim Berry was an honorary bearer.
Mr. Hester is survived by his wife, Mrs. Margaret Hester; three daughters, Sondra Tate and husband Jerry, of Harvest, Linda McNatt and husband Dale, of Sheffield, and Norma Trapp and husband Jerry, of Tuscumbia; a son, Randall Hester and wife Lindsey, of Lexington; a sister, Eloise Davis of Muscle Shoals; a brother, Morris Hester of Red Bay; and six grandchildren, Kim Tate of Huntsville, Jon Tate of Memphis, Jeff Tate of Boston, Massachusetts, Kevin McCarthy of Sheffield, Cory Pierce of Florence, and Allison Pierce of Huntsville.

Nancy Parker, age 71, of Town Creek, passed away Saturday, November 27, 2004, at ECM Hospital.
Mrs. Parker was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tennis and Bert Harville.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 30, 2004, at Lawrence Funeral Home Chapel in Moulton with Bro. Ronnie Edgil and Bro. Greg Rucker officiating. Interment was in Ferguson Cemetery
in Town Creek.
Pallbearers were Rickey Sutton, Ricky Appleton, Ricky Fike, Shane Parker, Hershel Bishop, Terry Landers, and Brandon Borden. Honorary bearers were Jacob Young, Chanse Parker, Dylon Parker, Bronson Parker, Mikey Landers, Tyler Landers and Casey McCutcheon.
Mrs. Parker is survived by her husband, Melvin Parker; three sons, Phillip Parker and wife Sonja, of Vinemont, Randal Parker and wife Donna, of Trinity, and Tim Parker and wife Denise, of Town Creek; three daughters, Kay Parker of Town Creek, Nell Poston of Town Creek, and Loretta Young and husband Lane, of Mt. Hope; a brother, Andrew Johnson of Moulton; two sisters, Lula Sutton of Town Creek and Melba Maupin of Town Creek; fourteen grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

Ruth Eunice Davis Taylor, age 87, of Haleyville, passed away Thursday, November 25, 2004, at Haleyville Health Care.
Mrs. Taylor was a member of Needmore Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Orial Taylor.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 27, 2004, at Pinkard Funeral Home with Gary Patton and Cecil Cox officiating. Interment was in Littleville Cemetery.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by a son, Harold Ray Taylor and wife Dena, of Haleyville; a daughter, LaNell T. Barker and husband Max, of Nauvoo; a sister, Beatrice Gentle of Haleyville; five grandchildren, Rex, Mark and Carey Barker, Tanya Griffen and Darryl Taylor; thirteen great-grandchildren; one niece and eight nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Carl Grady Pounders, age 70, of Russellville, passed away Monday, December 13, 2004.
Mr. Pounders was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Revere and Lillie Davis Pounders.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, December 15, 2004, at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Greg Beasley officiating. Interment will be in Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
