Young

Mildred Overstreet Webb Young, 80, a member of the First Baptist Church in Sumner, Ga. and active in Ruth Sunday School class, died April 20, 2006. She was a Mary Kay consultant and homemaker. A native of Clarke County, she was a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond J. Young of Sumner; four daughters, Jeanette Kosiewski of Orange Park, Fla., Janice M. Hall of Albany, Ga., Marsha J. Harrell of Panama City Beach, Fla. and Marilyn Shankwieler of Atlanta, Ga.; three sons, George Webb of Omaha, Neb., Jack Young of Tifton, Ga. and Donald Young of Perry, Ga.; two sisters, Willene McDonald of Bessemer and Voncile Echols of Jackson; five brothers, Elwood Overstreet, Ralph Overstreet, Gerald Overstreet and Ronnie Overstreet, all of Alma and C.W. Overstreet of Satsuma; 11 grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren.

The funeral service was April 23 at the First Baptist Church in Sumner with Dr. Tom Jacobs and the Rev. Ray Bittner officiating. Interment was in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Bryant

Lakeveon James Bryant of Toddtown, 3 mos. old, died April 21, 2006 at UAB Children's Hospital in Birmingham. He is survived by his mother, LaChundra Bryant; grandparents, Eatha Ree and Edward Jackson of Toddtown and great-grandmother, Jessie Mae Jackson of Jackson.

The funeral service was April 24 at the Church of the Living God in Coffeeville with Pastor Robert Smith officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with Jackson Memorial Funeral Home directing.

Campbell

Benjamin Campbell, 38, of Jackson, died April 23, 2006 at USA Medical Center in Mobile.

Survivors include his mother, Clara Campbell of Burbank, Calif.; two sisters, Annie Bradley of Jackson and Blythia Campbell of Burbank; five brothers, Chester Campbell and Clarence Campbell, both of Jackson, and Nathaniel Campbell, Moses Campbell and Sollie Campbell, all of Burbank.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 30 from 6-8 p.m. in the chapel of Jackson Memorial Funeral Home. (Time of service not ready at press time)

Johnson

Lashavin L. Johnson, 21, of Jackson, died April 19, 2006 at Jackson Medical Center.

He is survived by a daughter, Lashayla Johnson of Jackson; mother, Lorraine Johnson, father Johnnie Barnes Jr. and stepmother, Kittrell Barnes, all of Jackson; five sisters, Angela McKenzie, Johnnqueshia Barnes and Johneisha Crayton, all of Jackson, Jennifer Johnson of Boston, Mass. and Johnite Crayton of Detroit, Mich.; two brothers, Marshall-Markel Johnson of Atlanta, Ga. and William Johnson of Jackson; stepbrother, Eriskey Crowell of Jackson; grandmother, Laura Barnes of Jackson.

The funeral service will be Thursday (today), April 27, 1 p.m. at Mt. Olive No. 2 Baptist Church in Jackson. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Jackson with Jackson Memorial Funeral Home directing.

Scott

Fonzy Lee Scott, 69, of Jackson, died April 23, 2006 at Springhill Memorial Hospital.

Survivors include three daughters, Lillie P. Dickson of Saraland, Sandra Daffin of Jackson and Denise Scott of Montgomery; three sons, Timmie Scott, Michael Scott and Sol Scott, all of Jackson; a sister, Augusta Robinson of Mobile and four grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday, April 29 from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at Mt. Sinai No.1 Baptist Church in Jackson. Interment will be in the church cemetery with Jackson Memorial Funeral Home directing.

Thomas

Floyd Thomas Jr., died at his residence on April 21, 2006 at the age of 65. He was a resident of McIntosh and a selfemployed pulpwood operator.

Survivors include his wife, Edwina Bell Thomas of McIntosh; father-in-law, Robert Bell of Mt.Vernon; two daughters, Shirley Thomas and Linda Thomas, both of McIntosh; five sons, Horace Thomas of Calvert, Curtis Thomas, Edward D. Thomas, Darryl F. Thomas and Darryl Hughes, all of McIntosh; two sisters, Lucille Knollwood of Wagarville and Irene Lewis of Malcolm; two brothers, Ed E. Thomas of Eight Mile and Ernest Thomas of McIntosh; 20 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday, April 29, from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service at Church of God Pentecostal in McIntosh with the Rev. Bobby Powe, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the Vaughn Cemetery in McIntosh with Jackson

Knapp

Amy DeAnn Knapp, age 30, born March 2, 1976, died May 7, 2006 in Washington County Hospital in Chatom, Ala. Ms. Knapp, born in Pensacola, Fla., was a native of Tibbie, Ala. and a resident of Chatom, Ala. She was a member of the Howardtown Baptist Church in Howardtown, Ala.

She is survived by her mother, Martha Turner of Tibbie, Ala., her father and stepmother, Douglas and Debbie Knapp of Spanish Fort, Ala. and one sister, Hayley K. Singleton (Brad), nephew, Ryan Thornton and niece, Alexis Singleton, all of Chatom, Ala.; grandparents, Vera Timothy of Tibbie, Ala. and Leonard Watts of Milton, Fla. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, and her extended family at ECI Group in Chatom, Ala. Ms. Knapp was preceded in death by grandparents, Henry and Gertrude Knapp and Aunt Deloris Rhodes.

Visitation was Monday, May 8, 2006 from 6-8 p.m. at Howardtown Baptist Church in Howardtown, Ala.

Service was Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Howardtown Baptist Church in Howardtown, Ala.

Interment was in the Bethel Methodist Church Cemetery in Seaboard, Ala.

Arrangements were by Lathan Funeral Home in Chatom, Ala. (pd. ad)

Locke

Harold Stanley "Son" Locke, 75, died May 4, 2006 at a local health care facility. He was a native and resident of Millry. A member of the Central Baptist Church in Mobile, he was a retired pipefitter with ALCOA.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley A. Locke of Millry; son, Robert Locke of Mobile; two daughters, Kathryn DeJuan of Hattiesburg, Miss. and Tracey Murrill of Mobile; stepson, Bryan Thompson of Carrollton; stepdaughter, Robin Thompson of Chatom; sister, Ruby Jean Anderson of Foley; seven grandchildren and one greatgrandchild.

A memorial service was May 5 in the chapel of Lathan Funeral Home of Chatom.

Chapman

Bessie Gordon Finch Chapman, a resident of Brooklyn, N.Y., died May 4, 2006. She was a member of St. Matthew Baptist Church of Manila.

She is survived by two daughters, Valorie McNeil of Brooklyn and Faye Williams of Manila; four sons, James Finch of Manila, Willie Finch of Columbus, Ga., Emanuel Keitt and Brandon Carrington, both of Brooklyn; five sisters, Barbara Hunt, Maxine Richards and Gracey Solyen, all of Mobile, Nettie Williams of Jackson and Lou Ida Hannon of Manila; three brothers, Raymond Gordon of Manila, Grady Gordon of Lake Providence, La. and Joe LeMitchell of Jackson and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday, May 12 from 6-8 p.m. in the chapel of Jackson Memorial Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be Saturday, May 13, 2 p.m. at St. Matthew Baptist Church of Manila. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Johnson

Jane Marie Johnson, 46, a resident of McIntosh, died May 4, 2006 at her residence. She was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church in McIntosh.

Survivors include her husband, Michael Johnson of McIntosh; daughter, Riesa Johnson of McIntosh; two sons, Victor Johnson and Justin Johnson, both of McIntosh; three stepsons, Michael A. Johnson of Leroy, Marcus Ezell of Jackson and Michael Johnson Jr. of California; mother, Kate Adams of McIntosh; three sisters, Mary Barnes of McIntosh, Rhonda Lacy and Terra McDonald, both of Mobile; four brothers, Gilmore Adams Jr. of Leroy, Gregory Adams and Terry Adams, both of McIntosh and Fabian Adams of Satsuma; adopted brother, Anthony Adams of Mobile and two grandchildren.

The funeral service was May 10 at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church of McIntosh. Burial was in the Vaughn Cemetery in McIntosh with Jackson Memorial Funeral Home directing.
