Mary Margaret Winsett

Funeral services for Mary Margaret Winsett, 84, of Cullman will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 15, 2003 at Peck Funeral Chapel, the Rev. A. Ray Lee officiating, with Burial in Lebanon Cemetery.

Peck Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Winsett died Thursday, Sept. 11 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born Aug. 30, 1919 in Ohio to William Curtis and Anna Florence Allen Curtis. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include a son, Charles James Apgar of Las Vegas, Nev.; a daughter, Barbara J. Lyons of Cullman; and 15 grandchildren.

Nelda June Speegle

Funeral services for Nelda June Speegle, 74, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14, 2003 at St. Andrews First United Methodist Church, the Revs. Marcus Long and Chuck Canterbury officiating, with Burial in Cullman City Cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Speegle died Friday, Sept. 12 at her residence. She was born May 15, 1929 to Joseph and Jodie Butler Drake. She was retired from the county school system. She was a lifetime member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women's Association. She was also a member of the Alabama Emmaus community and a graduate of Disciple Bible Studies One and Two.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Kenneth Speegle.

Survivors include a son, Kenneth Martin Jr. (Jeannie C.) Speegle of Cullman; two daughters, Jannie Speegle Ratliff of Cullman and Jeannie Speegle (Kenneth L.) Cobb of Birmingham; two brothers, Hoyt (Ethel) Drake and Wilbur (Ruby) Drake, both of Cullman; a sister, Mae Barronton of Cullman; and eight grandchildren, Starr Barnes, Rachael Ratliff, James Worth Ratliff II, Leslie Nicole Speegle, Perry Lynn Speegle, Elizabeth Mason Cobb, Kenneth Long Cobb Jr. and Charles Luke Cobb.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Andrews building fund, the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.

Pallbearers will be Lionel Butler, Billy Coleman, Greg Wrenn, Greg Copeland, Jim Cleghorn, Ron Morrow, Terry Bontrager and Bill Peinhardt.

Visitation was Saturday.

Roger Dale Wilhite

Funeral services for Roger Dale Wilhite, 51, of Cullman are at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14, 2003 at Moss-Service chapel, the Rev. Keith Whitley officiating, with Burial in Round Top Cemetery.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Wilhite died Friday, Sept. 12 at Cullman Health Care Center. He was born March 2, 1952 to Virgil P. and Vada Levell Wilhite. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father; a sister, Pat Smith; and two brothers, Travis Wilhite and Jackie Wilhite.

Survivors include three daughters, Leesa (Kevin) Manord; Jayme (Jason) Scott and Ashley (Casey) Wilhite- Baker; his mother; three brothers, Virgil E. Wilhite, Larry Joe Wilhite and Ricky Wilhite; three sisters, Brenda S. Ball, Gail Shaddrix and Debbie Arnold; a grandson, Kyle Manord; and former spouses, Debbie Gillam and Susie Barfoot.

Pallbearers will be Chris Ball, John Shaddrix, J.D. Landers, Carl Shaddrix, Jackie Wilhite, Ricky Joe Wilhite and Adam Gibbs.

Visitation was Saturday.

Robert J. Angle

Funeral services for Robert J. Angle, 95, of Cullman are at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15, 2003 at Moss-Service chapel, the Rev. Emory Calvert and Terry Phillips officiating, with Burial in Bethsadia Cemetery.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Angle died Saturday, Sept. 13 at his residence. He was born Feb. 17, 1908 to James P. and Libera Clark Angle. He was a farmer and a beat commissioner for beat No. 13 for more than 40 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Tharice Quattlebaum Angle of Cullman; a son, Hilton (Cindy) Angle of Cullman; a brother, Howard P. Angle of Cullman; and two grandchildren, Chad Angle and Madison Angle.

Visitation is 6 to 9 p.m. today.

Melba Juanita Hancock

Funeral services for Melba Juanita Hancock, 79, of Bremen, are at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15, 2003 at Cold Springs Baptist Church, the Rev. Harce Swann officiating, with Burial in the church cemetery.

Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Hancock died Saturday, Sept. 13 in Cullman. She was born in Cullman County on Sept. 15, 1923 to Isaac and Lela Baggett Morgan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Odis Morgan; and a sister, Stella Waldrop.

Survivors include her husband, Troy Hancock of Bremen; three daughters, Elaine (Fred) Boothe of Smoke Rise, Imogene (Tommy) Draper of Hartselle and Colene Wells of Bremen; a son, Terry Lee (Betty) Hancock of Bremen; four sisters, Dura Arnold, Pauline Cruce, Lorene Gentle and Dena Morgan; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation is 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ella Mae Sanders

Funeral services for Ella Mae Sanders, 65, of Cullman are incomplete and will be announced at a later date.

Mrs. Sanders died Saturday, Sept. 13 in Cullman. She was born in Fayette on April 4, 1938 to Roma Dalton and Ida Faye Berry Showman.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Stewart Sanders of Cullman; a daughter, Wanita Kelly of Tampa, Fla.; and three sisters, Nadine Blum of Hanover Park, Ill., Irene Bramlett and Louise Mitchell of Carbon Hill.

Lucille Wright Hollaway

Funeral services for Lucille Wright Hollaway, 84, are at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14, 2003 at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home, Jeremy Oden officiating, with Burial in Etha Cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Hollaway died Friday, Sept. 12 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born Aug. 12, 1919 in Morgan County to Thomas and Gurtrude Bates Wright. She was a retired lunchroom worker for the Morgan County Board of Education.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husand, Dallas Theo Hollaway Sr.; a brother, Curtis Wright; a sister, Betty Bailey; a grandson, Richard Hollaway; and a son-in-law, Charles Harris.

Survivors include her son, Dallas (Linda) Hollaway Jr. of Muscle Shoals; a daughter, Becky Harris of Gulf Shores; a sister, Wilma Adamson of Eva; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation is 1 to 3 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Jimmy Dwight Harris

Funeral services for Jimmy Dwight Harris, 58, of Cullman are at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14, 2003 at Sardis #2 Baptist Church, Malcom Carter III officiating, with Burial in the church cemetery.

Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Harris died Friday, Sept. 12 at Cullman Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include his mother, Alice Lee Harris Burke of Cullman; two sisters, Mary Reid and Bertha Burke, both of Cullman; four brothers, Billy Harris, Ronald Harris, Rickey Harris and Bruce Harris, all of Cullman; special friend, Mattie Banks of Jasper; 16 nieces and nephews; and 18 great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation was Saturday.

Gladys Duckett Jones

Funeral services for Gladys Duckett Jones, 81, of Baileyton will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2003 at Holly Pond Funeral Chapel, Stanley Jones and the Rev. Micheal Floyd officiating, with Burial in Brooklyn Cemetery.

Mrs. Jones died Saturday, Sept. 13 at Woodland Village Health Care. She was born Oct. 6, 1921 in Cullman County. She was a homemaker and a member of Brooklyn Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie P. Jones; a son, Jimmy Jones; and her parents, James Benjamin and Pashie McGriff Duckett.

Survivors include a son, Roger Jones; a sister, Olene Duckett Ford; two granddaughters, Cindy Jones and Lee Ann Lawrence; and a great-grandson, Bradley Austin Lawrence.

Visitation was Monday.

Jane E. Hart

Funeral services for Jane E. Hart, 71, of Cullman will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2003 at First Presbyterian Church, Terry Tingle officiating, with Burial in Cullman City Cemetery.

Mrs. Hart died Sunday, Sept. 14 at her residence. She was born Aug. 21, 1932 to S. Floyd and Gertrude Wortman Currier. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Hart; her son, Michael Hart; and her parents.

Survivors include two sons, Larry (Trish) Hart and Dave (Ann) Hart; and three grandchildren, Laura Hart, Meghan Hart and Amanda Hart.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Cullman County or the First Presbyterian Church of Cullman.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday.

Mildred Oney

Funeral services for Mildred Oney, 94, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2003 at Christ Lutheran Church, the Rev. Scott Arnold officiating, with Burial in Cullman City Cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Oney died Sunday, Sept. 14 at Touch of Grace. She was born May 16, 1909 in Alabama to John Fredrich and Kunigunde Schwann Schafer. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include two daughters, Frances Bavar and Margaret Hunter; a stepdaughter, Lucile Church; two sons, Alvin Gardner and Albert Gardner; a sister-in-law, Gladys Schafer; 15 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation was Monday.

Cora Evalene Yeager

Funeral services for Cora Evalene Yeager, 75, of Vinemont will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2003 at Moss-Service Chapel, the Rev. Charles Ervin officiating, with Burial in Ebenezer Cemetery.

Mrs. Yeager died Saturday, Sept. 13 at Cullman Long Term Care. She was born May 12, 1928 to James and Mary Elizabeth Johnson Lawson. She was a homemaker and a member of Longview Church of God.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary (David) Lipsey and Shirley (Buddy) Powell; her mother-in-law, Gurley Clements; a brother, Anthan Lawson; four grandchildren, Anisa (Jeff) Penn, Valerie (Chris) Cobb, Derek (Cassandra) Powell and Holly Rozell; and four great-grandchildren, Britney Cobb, Brandi Cobb, Cassidy DiLeva and Jacob Rozell.

Pallbearers will be Hershel Jones, Howard Clayton, Asa Lee Brandon, Donald Day, Chris Cobb and Jeff Penn.

Visitation was Monday.

Ella Mae Sanders

Funeral services for Ella Mae Sanders, 65, of Cullman was Monday, Sept. 15, 2003 at Hanceville Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Wayne Williams officiating, with Burial in Cullman City Cemetery.

Mrs. Sanders died Saturday, Sept. 13 in Cullman. She was born in Fayette on April 4, 1938 to Roma Dalton and Ina Faye Berry Showman.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Stewart Sanders of Cullman; a daughter, Wanita Kelly of Tampa, Fla.; a son, David Land of Spartenburg, S.C.; three sisters, Nadine Blum of Hanover Park, Ill., Irene Bramlett of Birmingham and Louise Mitchell of Carbon Hill; two grandchildren, Eric Gilbreath and Kristi Ward, both of Logan; and a great-grandchild, Lily Ann Ward of Logan.

Woodrow Wilson James

Graveside services for Woodrow Wilson James, 89, of Cullman will be at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2003 at Floyd Memory Gardens in Rome, Ga., Sherman Bailey officiating.

Williams-McCracken Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. James died Sunday, Sept. 14 at Woodland Medical Center. He was born Oct. 5, 1913 in Cullman County to Mallue and Cassie Woods James. He was a toll testman for BellSouth.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include three sons, Woodrow Wilson James Jr. of Cartersville, Bobby Joe James of Avondale, Ariz. and Jerry Paul James of Villa Rica, Ga.; two daughters, Sheila James of Cullman and Patricia Alford of Rome, Ga.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
