Dillard Elsworth Bolding

Funeral services for Dillard Elsworth Bolding, 84, of Cullman will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003, at Cullman Heritage Chapel, Willard Pyle and Charles Harvell officiating, with Burial in Cullman City Cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Bolding died Sunday, Nov. 16, at Hanceville Nursing Home. He was born March 17, 1919, at Parris Island, S.C. He worked for the Social Security Administration. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in World War II.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Walter and Nancy Newman Bolding.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Martha Nell Mann Bolding of Cullman.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Cullman County.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Ottie J. Freeman

Funeral services for Ottie J. Freeman, 86, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003, at Cullman Heritage Chapel, Scott Rutherford and Delbert Freeman officiating, with Burial in Springhill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Freeman died Sunday, Nov. 16, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born Dec. 25, 1916, in Cullman County to Martin Taylor and Buna Frances Peak Freeman. He was a retired farmer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Irvin, Talmadge, Leldon, Calvin Freeman and an infant brother; and two sisters, Birdie Wren and an infant sister.

Survivors include his wife, Pauline Nix Freeman; a daughter, Melba Jo (Elton) Rutherford; a grandson, Tim (Jackie) Rutherford; a granddaughter, Becky (Wayne) Rushing, all of Cullman; and five great-grandchildren, Scott, Chad and Brooke Rutherford, Zeb and Ava Jo Rushing.

Visitation was Monday.

Doyle Edward Trussell

Funeral services for Doyle Edward Trussell, 88, of Vinemont will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003, at Cullman Heritage Chapel, the Rev. Steve Rodgers officiating, with Burial in Crossroads Cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Trussell died Saturday, Nov. 15, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born May 23, 1915, in Cullman County to Charlie and Martha Trussell. He was a retired farmer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Claire Marie Tolbert Trussell; a daughter, Josephine Schultz; two grandsons, Joseph Sparks and Christopher Schultz; four brothers, Raymond, Clifton, Seburn and Calvin Trussell; and one sister.

Survivors include three sons, Wallace (JoAnn) Schultz, Larry (Carol) Schultz and Roger (Tracy) Schultz; four daughters, Diane (Conley) Westmoreland and Martha Schultz, both of Winston County, Helen (Bobby) Claburne of DeKalb County and Linda (Cle) Sparks of Cullman; a sister, Samantha Lester Trussell Givens of Cullman; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was Monday.

Annie Ruth Leipert

Funeral services for Annie Ruth Leipert, 90, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003, at Hanceville Funeral Home, Dewey Sims officiating, with Burial in Hopewell Cemetery.

Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Leipert died Saturday, Nov. 15 in Cullman. She was born in Cherokee County on Sept. 1, 1913 to George and Roxie Bernice Shaver Easterwood.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include a son, Ronald (Linda) Leipert of Cullman; three great-grandchildren, Cameron Kretzschmar, Cassidy Kretzschmar and Jada Grace Leipert; two sisters, Lilian Easterwood and Kate Spann, both of Michigan; and two grandchildren, Sherry (Johnny) Kretzschmar of Vinemont and Shannon (Tracy) Leipert of Fairview.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ruth Elizabeth Pence

Funeral services for Ruth Elizabeth Pence, 95, of Hanceville will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003, at New Bethel Church of Christ, V.W. Boland and James D. McDonald officiating, with Burial in Hopewell Cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Pence died Monday, Nov. 17 at her residence. She was born April 15, 1908 to Wyatt and Fannie Floyd Burnham. She was a homemaker and a member of New Bethel Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, L.M. Pence; her parents; a sister, Carrie Dowdy; and four brothers, Levi, Lathan, David and Floyd Burnham.

Survivors include four daughters, Evelyn (Ray) Latta, Martha (Wayne) Robertson, both of Hanceville, Frances (the late J.B.) Wilborn of Cullman and Margaret (Clyde) Bland of Murphy, N.C.; a sister, Ola Cason of Cullman; two sisters-in-law, Lessie Burnham and Dorothy Burnham; 13 grandchildren, Kay (Mike) Donnell, Shirley (Gene) Gomez, Terry (Carol) Latta, Ray Jr. (Sandra) Latta, Bruce (Deliah) Latta; Wayne Jr. (Chasity) Robertson, Kathy (John III) Sims, Daphne (David) Kuykendall, Rex (Cathy) Wilborn, Carol (Steve) Grandey, Brenda (the late Mike) Schmidt, Sheila Bishop and Paul Bland; 24 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and special sitters, Mildred Turner, Dorothy Kelly, Aileen Whitfield, Mary Kent and Shelia Fuller.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today.

Carl 'Butch' Page

Carl "Butch" Page, 46, of Danville died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2003 at Hartselle Medical Center.

Peck Funeral Home is notifying.

Mr. Page was born on Oct. 11, 1947 to Royal and Kathy Laretta Smith Page.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia English Page of Toledo, Ohio; three brothers, Robert Page of Vinemont, Chuck Page and Rick Page, both of Toledo, Ohio; and a sister, Janet Page of Toledo, Ohio.

No services are planned.

Belford Ridgnell Faulkner Jr.

Funeral services for Belford Ridgnell Faulkner Jr., 73, of Logan will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003, at Cullman Heritage Chapel, Frank Wood officiating, with Burial in Bowman's Chapel Cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Faulkner died Tuesday, Nov. 18 at Hanceville Nursing Home. He was born March 17, 1930 in Lawrence County, Tenn. He was a member of Logan Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Belford Ridgnell Sr. and Dora Alice Martin Faulkner; two brothers, Johnny William Faulkner and Clyde Faulkner; and two sisters, Lorene Aaron and Grace Faulkner.

Survivors include a brother, William Walter Faulkner of Ohio; three sisters, Virginia Gray of Logan, Katie Luker of Tennessee and Syble Welch of Hanceville; and 32 nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Scott Clellon Dunn

Funeral services for Scott Clellon Dunn, 52, of Hanceville will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003, at Mt. Grove Baptist Church, the Rev. Mark Long officiating, with Burial in Mt. Grove Baptist Church.

Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Dunn died Tuesday, Nov. 18 at Woodland Medical Center. He was born July 4, 1951 in Cullman. He was a farmer and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife, Tammy Dunn; his father Harvey Dunn; his mother, Opal Dunn; a daughter, Venja (David) Schultz, all of Hanceville; a brother, Ervin Dunn of Baileyton; a brother-in-law, John C. Falks of Hanceville; and a granddaughter, Katlin Schultz.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Doris Virginia Tucker

Funeral services for Doris Virginia Tucker, 83, of Hanceville will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003, at Moss-Service Chapel, F.W. Sheppard and Jerry Lofton officiating, with Burial in Bethlehem Cemetery.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Tucker died Monday, Nov. 17 at Cullman Health Care Center. She was born Dec. 10, 1919 to Oliver Sr. and Bessie McDonald Tucker. She was a supervisor with Golden Rod.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Oliver Tucker Jr. and Farris Alvin Tucker; and two sisters, Marie Tubbs and Roberta Tucker.

Survivors include a brother, W.O. Tucker; five nieces, Betty (Clay) Brewer, Barbara Harris, Linda (Wallace) Harbison, Diar (Troy) Scott and Nyoka (Jackie) Chandler; and four nephews, O.W. (Mary Lee) Tucker, Bobby (Frances) Tucker, Denvil (Pam) Tucker and Michael (Kathy) Tucker.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today.

Dan Allen Harris

Funeral services for Dan Allen Harris, 44, of Chattanooga, Tenn. will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003, at W.L. Wilson and Sons Funeral Home in Fort Oglethorpe, Ga., Lamar Moore officiating, with Burial at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, 2003 in the Duck River Cemetery in Cullman.

W.L. Wilson and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Harris died Sunday, Nov. 16. He was a resident of Lookout Valley for most of his life where he attended Lookout Valley High School in Tennessee. He hobbies included singing, music, hunting and fishing. He was the owner and operator of Danscapes Landscaping for more than 10 years. He was the former lead singer band Alethea. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Paige Harris; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Thurman E. Loyd and Mr. and Mrs. Gaither E. Harris.

Survivors include his father, Douglas L. Harris of Cleveland; his mother, Ellen Loyd Harris of Chattanooga; two sons, Derrick Shane Harris and Ryan Keith Harris, both of Manchester, Tenn.; a sister, Amy Harris; and a nephew, Hayden Harris, both of Chattanooga.

Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today and from 3 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

John Vernon Gray

Funeral services for John Vernon Gray, 76, of Houston, Ala., will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003, at Church in the Forest, Arthur Rayburn officiating, with Burial in Mt. Olive Cemetery in The Forest.

Nichols Funeral Home of Haleyville is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Gray died Tuesday, Nov. 18 at Lakeland Community Hospital.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andy and Mattie Gray.

Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Ann Gray of Houston; three daughters, Donna Gray of Houston, Susie Barber of Arley and Polly Schilling of West Chester, Pa.; four sons, Talmadge Gray and Billy Joe Gray, both of Arley, Edward Gray of Phil Campbell and Larry Gray of Cullman; two sisters, Lois Oliver of Chicago and Vera Wilson of Houston; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Jerry M. 'Shorty' Knighten Jr.

Funeral services for Jerry M. "Shorty" Knighten Jr., 68, of Somerville will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, at Antioch United Methodist Church, the Revs. Katherine Perkins and Vandon Windsor officiating, with Burial in Antioch Cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Knighten died Tuesday, Nov. 18 at Huntsville Hospital. He was born Feb. 24, 1934 in Morgan County to Jerry Sr. and Martha Zona Leeth Knighten. He worked at Big Bob Gibson's as a cook. He attended Antioch United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Betty J. Knighten of Somerville; two sons, Donnie Knighten and Danny Knighten, both of Union Grove; two brothers, Paul Knighten of Cullman and R.Q. Knighten of Georgia; two sisters, Chestine Lewis of Texas and Beulah Terry of Town Creek; and three grandchildren, Justin Knighten, Brittany Knighten and Casey Knighten.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Grantland, Gary Grantland, Ronald Grantland, Herbie Willis, Skeggs Gilchrist and A.D. Johnson.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Morris Daily Couch

Funeral services for Morris Daily Couch, 72, of Falkville will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, at Peck Funeral Chapel in Hartselle, the Rev. Keith Andrews officiating, with Burial in Flint Creek Cemetery in Cullman County.

Mr. Couch died Wednesday, Nov. 19, at Hartselle Medical Center. He was born Jan. 21, 1931 in Morgan County to Austin and Watha Morris Couch.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Dean Laney Couch of Falkville; a son, Mark (Sherry) Couch of Birmingham; two daughters, Susan (Larry) Dorough and Kelli (Sean) Moran, both of Birmingham; two brothers, Paul Jackson (Betty) Couch of Memphis, Tenn. and Winfred O. (Gayle) Couch of Lovingston, Va.; a sister, Elaine Couch (Lowell) Stinson of Decatur; and four grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Una Mae 'Polly' Graham

Funeral services for Una Mae "Polly" Graham, 91, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003, at Moss-Service Chapel, the Rev. Tony Thomas officiating, with Burial in Union Grove Presbyterian Cemetery.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Graham died Thursday, Nov. 20, at Woodland Medical Center. She was born June 6, 1912, to Louis and Dixie Jones White. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Nelson Graham; four sisters, Tillie Taylor, Loee Powell, Ethel Hayes, Goldie Carr; and two brothers, Elmer White and L.C. White.

She is survived by her brother, Loyd J. "Curley" White.

Visitation was Friday.
