Howard Gene Bell

Funeral services for Howard Gene Bell, 66, of Falkville will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 25, 2004, at Peck Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Gary Miller officiating, with Burial in Welcome Baptist Cemetery.

Peck Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Bell died Friday, April 23, at his residence. He was born Feb. 24, 1938, in Morgan County.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Wimbs Bell; a son, Jerry Don Bell; his father, Hobson Bell; and his mother, Elsie Lorene Penwell Bell.

Survivors include two sons, Terry Gene Bell of Somerville and Jerry Ray Bell of Falkville; a daughter, Cherrie Louise Gardner of Falkville; two brothers, Albert H. Bell Jr. of Birmingham and John David Bell of Hartselle; a sister, Bessie Jane Montgomery of Mississippi; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Larry Don Smith, Billy Brasher, Robbie Tompkins, Tony Taylor, John Wimbs, Bobby Moon and Brian Taylor.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Peggy N. Nesmith

Funeral services for Peggy N. Nesmith, 72, of Arley, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 24, 2004, at Nichols Funeral Home, with Burial in Enman Field Cemetery in Addison.

Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Nesmith died Thursday, April 22, in Arley.

Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Harvender; two brothers, John White and Tommy White; a sister, Gloria Warner; and a nephew, Jackie White.

Visitation was Friday.

Andy William Lynn

Funeral services for Andy William Lynn, 74, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, 2004, at Cullman Heritage Chapel, Kenneth Terry and Steve Rodgers officiating, with Burial in Hopewell Cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Lynn died Saturday, April 24, at Hartselle Medical Center. He was born Feb. 2, 1930, in Cullman County to George Washington and Lilly Mae Thomas Lynn. He was a retired U.S. Air Force veteran, having served during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietname War. He was a supervisor for Lanson Industries.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lorene Lynn; a son, Billy Lynn; a daughter, Diana Lynn; three brothers, Virgil, Albert and Earnest Lynn; and two sisters, Ruth Thomas and Eunice Ballew.

Survivors include his wife, Juanita B. Lynn of Cullman; three daughters, Paula (Doug) Creel, Brenda (Jerry) Harris and Susan (Roger) Hasting of Cullman; three stepsons, Danny (Robin) Johnson, Gary (Donna) Johnson and David (Sherry) Johnson of Cullman; three stepdaughters, Carol (Donnie) Yates, Patricia (DeWayne) Mickle and Christina (John) McAlpin of Cullman; a daughter-in-law, Cristi (Rex) Milligan of Hartselle; a brother, Leldon (Naomi) Lynn of Colbert County; eight grandchildren, Holly Creel, Adam Creel, Jeremy Shedd, Matthew Harris, Justin Hasting, Kyle Hasting, Brian Lynn and Carol Lynn; and two great-grandchildren, Haley Harris and Andrew Bullard.

Visitation was Monday.

Dennis Allen Sanders

Funeral services for Dennis Allen Sanders, 34, of Bremen will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 27, 2004, at Holly Pond Funeral Chapel, Tim Dubberley officiating, with Burial in Mt. Grove Cemetery in Johnson Crossing.

Holly Pond Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Sanders died Friday, April 23, at the University of Alabama in Birmingham Medical Center. He was born in Morgan County on Sept. 28, 1969, in Morgan County to William Sr. and Helen Blankenship Sanders. He was a member of Simcoe Worship Center.

Survivors include his wife, Angela Wright Sanders of Bremen; his father, William Sanders Sr. of Arkansas; his mother, Helen Blankenship Sanders of Blountsville; two sons, Justin Hatfield and Gerald Lott of Hanceville; three daughters, Courtney Tidwell of Florence, Shawna Stewart and Hannah Stewart, both of Bremen; two brothers, Nick Mester of Blountsville and William Sanders Jr. of Arkansas; and two sisters, Brenda Sanders and Lola Sanders, both of Blountsville.

Visitation was Monday.

Alexis Dianne Lindsey

Funeral services for Alexis Dianne Lindsey, 3, of Baileyton were Monday, April 26, 2004, at First Baptist Church of Cullman, the Rev. Jerry Hall officiating, with Burial in Enon Baptist Cemetery. The body lay in state for one hour prior to the service.

Williams-McCracken Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Miss Lindsey died Saturday, April 24, at her residence. She was born July 28, 2000, in Brookwood, Birmingham to Blake and Alice Jones Lindsey.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Louise Jones; and a great-grandfather, E.C. Lindsey.

Survivors include her parents; two brothers, Adam Lindsey and Isaac Lindsey, both of Baileyton; her grandparents, Benny and Rita Lindsey of Vinemont and Gilbert Jones of Greenville, S.C.; and great-grandparents, Archie and Era Raburn of Cullman and Mildren Lindsey of Vinemont.

Visitation was Sunday.

Blanche Lavennia Perrett

Blanche Lavennia Perrett, 89, of Cullman died Saturday, April 24, 2004, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. There will be no services.

Williams-McCracken Funeral Home is notifying.

Mrs. Perrett was born Sept. 24, 1914, in Detroit, Mich., to Arthur and Gerda Magnuson. She was a retired factory worker for BandL Rubber Co.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include a daughter, Janice (Robin) Canfield of Cullman; and a granddaughter, Christy Mernatti.

No visitation is planned.

Elsie Jearline 'Jerri' Pope Harrell

Funeral services for Elsie Jearline "Jerri" Pope Harrell, 74, of Indianapolis, Ind. were Monday, April 26, 2004, at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center of Decatur, Greg Bracken officiating, with Burial in Floral Park Cemetery in Indianapolis, Ind.

Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center of Decatur was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Harrell died Friday, April 23. She was born Sept. 25, 1929, in Cullman. She was a homemaker and a member of Marwood Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Edward Harrell of Indianapolis, Ind.; four children, Edward David, Mary Carolyn, Larry Neil Harrell and Cynthia Ann Harrell Reed; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to one's favorite charity.

Visitation was Sunday.

Wynelle Newman Ryan

Funeral services for Wynelle Newman Ryan, 78, Fairview will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 2004, at First Baptist Church of Fairview, the Revs. David Chambers and Horace Hall officiating, with Burial in the adjoining cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Ryan died Tuesday, April 27 at South Hampton Nursing Home. She was born in Joppa on Aug. 21, 1925, to L.B. and Katie Lee March Newman. She was a graduate of Fairview High School and Alverson Draughn Business College in Birmingham. She married James F. Ryan on June 3, 1945. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Fairview. During her 40 years as a member there, she actively participated in the Women's Missionary Union, Sunday School, Discipleship Training and a variety of other church activities.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James Felix Ryan.

Survivors include her son, Jerry (Vickie) Ryan of Huntsville; two daughters, Bonnie Allen of Alameda, Calif., and Marsha Ryan of Tallahassee, Fla.; five grandchildren, Charles Thomas, Bryan Thomas, Joe Martina, Erik Ryan and Jamie Ryan Donaldson; and 10 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Wynelle Ryan to the American Cancer Society at 3054 McGehee Road, Montgomery, Ala. 36111-2203.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Edward Earl Bailey

Graveside services for Edward Earl Bailey, 83, of South Carolina, formerly of Cullman, will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 2004, at Holly Pond Cemetery.

Holly Pond Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Bailey died recently in Columbia, S.C.

Survivors include two sons, Edward Earl Bailey Jr. and George Bailey, both of South Carolina; and five grandchildren.

No visitation is planned.

Barbara Jean Widrick

Graveside services for Barbara Jean Widrick, 57, of Tuscaloosa will be at 1 p.m. Friday, April 30, 2004, at Emeus Cemetery.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Widrick died Tuesday, April 27, at D.C.H. Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. She was born Jan. 28, 1947, to Ruben and Velia Ponder Robinson. She was a cashier.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include a son, Don Jr. (Jennifer) Widrick of Kenosha, Wisc.; a daughter, Christine (Brad) Pontillo of Kenosha, Wisc.; three brothers, Ruben Robinson of Winthrop Harbor, Ill.; Bobby Robinson of Chicago; and Tommy Robinson of Vinemont; two sisters, Vaudie Kelley of Tuscaloosa and Margarett Kribley of Round Lake, Ill; and three grandchildren, Kaitlyn Pontillo, Alyssa Pontillo and James Widrick.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon today.

George Herbert Culver

Funeral services for George Herbert Culver, 75, of Brundidge will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 2004, at Oak Level Baptist Church, the Rev. Jerry Wilkes officiating, with Burial in Oak Level Cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Culver died Wednesday, April 28, at Troy Regional Medical Center in Troy.

Survivors include six children, Perry Culver, Shelia (Jim) Crane, Tim (Betty) Culver, all of Brundidge, Robby (Kimberly) Culver and Rhonda (Charlie) Thomas, both of Cullman and Robin (Warren) Brick of Madison; 12 grandchildren, Mark Culver, Brian Culver, Alissa Culver, Nicholas Culver, Scott Crane, Jeff Crane, Eric Crane, Justin Culver, Dawson Culver, Teryn Bates, Caitlin Culver and Trey Thomas; four great-grandchildren, Mathew McKenney, Hunter McKenney, Dylan McKenny and Dalton McKenney; and four siblings, Elvie Nix of Decatur, Ruth Southard of Hartselle, Milton Culver of Hillsboro and Laverne Culver of Cullman.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Dillard Funeral Home.

Michael Dean Allred

Funeral services for Michael Dean Allred, 48, of Hanceville will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 2, 2004, at Limestone Chapel, the Rev. James P. Adams officiating, with Burial in Roselawn Cemetery in Athens.

Mr. Allred died Friday, April 30. He was self-employed in the furniture restoration business. He was a member of West Highland Baptist Church and was a Navy veteran of the Vietname War.

Survivors include his parents, Bill and Peggy Allred of Hanceville, and one sister, Patricia Gates of Nashville.

Visitation was Saturday.

Grace Gilbreath Stanfield

Funeral services for Grace Gilbreath Stanfield, 83, of Fyffe will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 3, 2004, at W.T. Wilson Chapel with Burial in Mt. View Memory Garden.

Mrs. Stanfield died Saturday, May 1, at Rivermont Health Care in Stevenson. She was a member of Fyffe First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Max Gilbreath and L.D. Stanfield; one son, Perry Don Gilbreath; and one stepdaughter, Phyllis Stanfield.

Survivors include one son, Jerry (Sara) Gilbreath of Cullman; one stepdaughter, Sandra Garrett of Albertville; two stepsons, Gary (Pat) Stanfield of Albertville and James (Mona) Stanfield of Gadsden; three grandchildren and seven stepgranchildren.
