Funeral services for George Ernest Moss, 65, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Monday, May 17, 2004, at Oak Level Baptist Church, J.W. Sticher officiating, with Burial in the adjoining cemetery. The body will lie in state an hour prior to the service.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Moss died Friday, May 14, at Cullman Regional Medical Center.

Faynell Banks

Funeral services for Faynell Banks, 69, of Hanceville will be at 2 p.m. Monday, May 17, 2004, at Hanceville Assembly of God, Barbara Trussell and the Revs. Frank Butts and Stanley Kilgore officiating, with Burial in Fairview West Cemetery in Hanceville.

Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Banks died Friday, May 14, in Cullman. She was born June 22, 1934, in Blount County to Farley and Pearl Lee Nichols Hamm.

Survivors include one son, Keith (Missy) Banks of Oneonta; two daughters, Becky (Carl) Kilgore of Bangor and Sherry (David) Williams of Falkville; two sisters, Inez Dunn and Shirley Smith; three brothers, Codean Hamm, Glenn Hamm and Theo Hamm; six grandchildren, Brandon Banks, Krystle Banks, Tony Cole, Steven Mustgrove, Laura Richie and Stacy Spahn; and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Reba Faye Jacobs

Funeral services for Reba Faye Jacobs, 74, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 16, at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel, Leon Maulden officiating, with Burial in Bethlehem East Cemetery in Hanceville.

Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Jacobs died Friday, May 14, in Cullman. She was born May 3, 1930, in Hanceville to Percy W. and Edna Pearl Holt Sims.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Jellethia Carden.

Survivors include her husband, Edgar Jacobs of Cullman; four sons, Barry (Linda) Jacobs and Gordon Sandlin, both of Cullman; Stanley Jacobs of Cherryvale, Kan.; and Eddie (Hester) Sandlin of Hanceville; one daughter, Tammy (David) Jenkins of Cullman; two brothers, Dewey A. Sims of Cullman and Mancil T. Sims of Gardendale; 10 grandchildren, Dr. Rebecca (Joseph) Dye, Bradley (Kari) Jacobs, Jessica Jacobs, Cody Jenkins, Jeanie (Mark) Rhodes, Bethany Sandlin, Patrick Sandlin, Adam Taylor, Willy Taylor and Bridget Day; and two great-grandchildren, Alexis Paige Jacobs and Carter Brice Wells.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Coleman Ray 'Cody' Lankford

A memorial service and reception for Coleman Ray "Cody" Lankford, 71, of Vestavia Hills will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 16, 2004, at Mountain Brook Presbyterian Church, Dr. Cary Speaker officiating, following a private Burial in Cullman City Cemetery.

Jefferson Memorial Trussville is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Lankford died Friday, May 14. He was born in Walker County and raised in Cullman. He was a member of Mountain Brook Presbyterian Church, where he was an elder. He was a 1957 graduate of Auburn University and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was retired from AETNA Life and Casualty-Employee Benefits Division. He was a past president of the Kiwanis Clubs of America and Salvation Army.

Survivors include his wife, Beth P. Lankford of Vestavia Hills; three children, Coleman Ray "Cole" Lankford II and Maribeth L. (Alan) Herndon, both of Birmingham, and Amy L. (Bill) Walker of Tuscaloosa; two sisters, Ginger Murphy and Connie Shelton; two brothers, Bill Bates and Dudley Bates; and six grandchildren, Wilson Herndon, Betsy Herndon, Andrew Herndon, Bailey Walker, Cody Walker and William Walker III.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Mountain Brook Presbyterian Church Memorial Garden Fund.

Honorary pallbearers will be Herb Englund, Harold Freeman, Sharp Minter, Mike Newman, Joe Patrick, Jack Perkins, Dub Berry, Mike Pressley and Tom Roberts.

The family wishes to give special thanks to Dr. Richard Berryman, Robert Carr and the staff of Vestavia Country Club. Special assistant is Lorraine Bendion.

Timothy Dale Jacobs

Funeral services for Timothy Dale Jacobs, 41, of Hanceville will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 19, 2004, at Hanceville Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Roger Shockley officiating, with Burial in Bethsadia Cemetery.

Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Jacobs died Sunday, May 16 in Hanceville. He was born in Tampa, Fla. on Dec. 22, 1962, to Luther M. and Velma Louise Hutson Jacobs.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Jacobs.

Survivors include his parents, Luther and Velma Jacobs of Hanceville; two brothers, Larry (Lynn) Jacobs of Ellabell, Ga. and Mancel (Linda) Jacobs of Hanceville; a sister, Rebecca (David) Sprawl of Brooksville, Fla.; and 11 nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Rene Julian Clos

Funeral services for Rene Julian Clos, 75, of Cullman will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 19, 2004, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Father Kevin McGrath officiating, with Burial in Greenview Memorial Park Cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Clos died Saturday, May 15 at Woodland Medical Center. He was born Sept. 17, 1928, in Cullman County to Frank Henri Clos Sr. and Marie Schmitt Clos. He was a retired manager for Palm Harbor Homes and served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Larkwood Country Club, Cullman Elks Lodge and Cullman Moose Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ethel Lea Levi Clos; and a brother, Frank Henry Clos Jr.

Survivors include a son, Paul (Penni) Clos of Woodlands, Texas; two daughters, Therese (Chip) Fountain of Madison and Elizabeth Anne Giles of Antioch, Tenn.; two brothers, Jean Clos of Chamblee, Ga., and Camillus Clos of Marietta, Ga.; a sister, Mary Therese (Joe) Daniels of Newbergh, Ind.; and five grandchildren, Audra Lea Clos, Ashley Lynn Clos, Austin Paul Clos, Elliott Chance Fountain and Cara Sage Fountain.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m.

Mae Bell Lynch Bradford

Funeral services for Mae Bell Lynch Bradford, 91, of Vinemont will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 21, 2004, at Moss-Service Chapel, the Rev. J.W. Hicks officiating, with Burial in Ebenezer Cemetery.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Bradford died Saturday, May 15 at her residence. She was born Jan. 7, 1913, to Barnie Wesley and Josie Ann Pruett Lynch. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hubert L. Bradford; and a son, Billie Lee Bradford.

Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Marlene Bradford; a niece, Nikki Heckert (Russell) Rawson; a sister, Lillie Mae Lynch Heckert; three grandchildren, Sandra Bradford (Billy) Bender, Robbie Lee and Tim Bradford; a great-grandson, Jeffery Skinner; and a great-nephew, R.J. Rawson.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday.

Onus Lee Lynn

Funeral services for Onus Lee Lynn, 91, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, 2004, at Moss-Service Chapel, Waylan Thrasher and Larry Brown officiating, with Burial in Cullman Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Lynn died Saturday, May 15 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born Nov. 3, 1912 to George W. and Nancy Ellen Shelton Lynn. He was a farmer.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Clessie Ridgeway Lynn; a son, Donny L. (Donna) Lynn; a daughter, Martha Lynn (Louis) Cook; a brother, Alvin (Fairene) Lynn; three sisters, Nellie Wray, Christine (Lawrence) McKenney and Olivia Lynn; two grandsons, Owen Lynn and Lee (Felecia) Cook; two granddaughters, Cathy Lynn and Janie Cook (Phillip) White; and two great-grandsons, Bryan White and Dylan White.

Visitation was Monday.

Edward James Healy

Funeral services for Edward James Healy, 69, of Decatur will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, 2004, at Mt. Pisgah Presbyterian Church at Baileyton, the Revs. Mark Linker and Norman Dye officiating, with Burial in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.

Mr. Healy died Saturday, May 15, at his residence. He was born Nov. 23, 1934, in Streator, Ill., to Marcus Patrick and Inez Victoria Helander Healy. He was in sales for electronic test equipment. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Juanita Allen Healy of Decatur; two sons, David Charles (Kyla) Healy and Mark Edward (Sally) Healy, both of Seattle, Wash.; six daughters, Colleen Therese (Tim) Meagher, Maureen Ann Healy, Susan Kathleen (Tom) Jacobs and Katherine Inez (Mark) Isaacson, all of Seattle, Wash., and Brooke Lynne (Rodney) Hill and Paige Marie Wilson, both of Decatur; two brothers, Mark (Linda) Healy of Aurora, Ill., and John (Helen) Healy of Springfield, Ill.; a sister-in-law, Catherine Healy of Wenona, Ill.; 17 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the UAB Liver Transplant Fund, Wiregrass Hospice or Mt. Pisgah Cemetery Fund.

Mary Hazel Mayes

Graveside services for Mary Hazel Mayes, 88, of Cullman will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, 2004, at Forest Hill Cemetery.

Ridout's Gardendale Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Mayes died Sunday, May 16. She was born and raised in Birmingham. She had been a resident of Cullman for the past several years. She retired from Paramount Dry Cleaners after several years of service and was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Anniston.

Survivors include a brother, James Douglas (Lillian) Sheppeard of Pleasant Grove; a niece, Sandra (Verlon) Jones of Cullman; two nephews, John (Shirley) Sheppeard of Gadsden and Steven (Edie) Sheppeard of Trussville; a stepdaughter, Mary Allen; and several great-nieces; extended family; and a host of friends.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Junior Carnell Davis

Funeral services for Junior Carnell Davis, 73, of Cullman will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 20, 2004, at Cullman Heritage Chapel, Stanley Dye officiating, with Burial in Cullman Memory Gardens.

Mr. Davis died Tuesday, May 18, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born April 18, 1931, in Cullman County to Clyde Davis and Lillie Mae Freeman. He was a retired truck driver for Speedring Corp. and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Billy Davis.

Survivors include his wife, Willodean Kilgo Davis of Cullman; a son, Donnie (Judy) Davis of Cullman; a daughter, Debbie Smallwood of Cullman; three grandchildren, Crystal (Shane) Clifton, D.J. Jones and Colby Davis; and a great-grandchild, Tyler Clifton.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Stephen W. Kilgo

Graveside services for Stephen W. Kilgo, 52, of Columbus, Ohio, will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 21, 2004, at Cullman Cemetery.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Mr. Kilgo died Monday, May 17, at his residence. He was a graduate of the University of Alabama with a bachelor of science degree in chemistry and Purdue University with a master of science degree in computer science. He was an information technology consultant at American Management Systems for 22 years.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alpheus and Perle Kilgo and Henry and Katie Cordes; and his beloved pet, Amber.

Survivors include his parents, Eddie and Evelyn Kilgo of Cullman; dear friends, Cynthia Hunt, Tracy and Rob Plummer, and Joanna Clayton and Daryl and Judy Kirkland; and many beloved cousins.

Bernice Cole Gardner

Memorial services for Bernice Cole Gardner, 96, of Bessemer will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, May 23, 2004, at Jess Lanier Manor, Richard Hanna officiating.

Mrs. Gardner died Monday, April 26. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Bessemer and had lived at Jess Lanier Manor for 17 years.

Survivors include a son, Jimmy Calvin Jr. (Goldie) Gardner; four grandchildren, Selah Marie Gardner Wright and Jason Nutter; five great-grandchildren; and special friends, Bobbie and Buddy Thompson, Jeff and Karen Nutter and Nellie Drake.

Mr. Caretti died Tuesday, May 18, at Baptist Medical Center-Montclair. He was born Aug. 5, 1951. He was a corporate pilot for AmSouth Bank.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Freeman Caretti; a son, Joshua H. (Sashari) Caretti; his parents, James S. and Edna E. Caretti; two brothers, Jim (Ann) Caretti and Joe (Donna) Caretti; a sister, Mary Caretti, all of Cullman; a sister-in-law, Lesa (Al) Baumgartner; a grandchild, Walker Caretti; special nieces and nephews, Dani (Nathan) O'Neil, David (Jodi) Maxwell, Dax Maxwell, Jason Caretti, Evan Caretti, Eric (April) Cochran and Jordan Baumgartner; great-niece and great-nephew, Seth and Ali O'Neil; and mother- and father-in-law, Wallace and Ruby Freeman.
