Mary Martin Shaw

Funeral services for Mary Martin Shaw, 81, of Holly Pond will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 11, 2004, at Holly Pond Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Horace Hall officiating, with Burial in Holly Pond Cemetery.

Holly Pond Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Shaw died Wednesday, June 9, at the home of her sister, Sarah Erickson, in Blountsville. She was born in Blount County on Aug. 1, 1922, to Columbus P. and Annie Bowerman Martin. She graduated from Blountsville High School, attended the Alabama College (University of Montevallo), and became a teacher with the Cullman County Board of Education. She later married Earnie W. Shaw and joined him in working at the Holly Pond Post Officer, later becoming postmaster after Earnie's retirement. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Holly Pond where she often enjoyed providing flowers for Sunday worship. A longtime resident of Holly Pond, she will be remembered by family and friends for her loving heart and many talents.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a brother, Frank Martin.

Survivors include two sisters, Sarah (Eugene) Erickson of Blountsville and Sue (James) Polk of Parksley, Va.; a sister-in-law, Marie Martin; four nieces, Jane McKinney, Laura O'Connell, Ester Crawford and Jane Wright; four nephews, Charles Martin, Perry Martin, Steven Erickson and Alan Erickson; three great-nieces; and seven great-nephews.

Pallbearers will be Charles Martin, Josh Amos, Billy Smith, Bill Shaw, Noel Henderson and Robin Henderson.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today and from 8 to 11 a.m. Friday, both at the funeral home.

Novella White

Funeral services for Novella White, 92, of Holly Pond will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 10, 2004, at Williams-McCracken Funeral Home, Lowell Hill officiating, with Burial in Holly Pond Cemetery.

Williams-McCracken Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. White died Tuesday, June 8, at Beverly Health Care in Boaz. She was born Sept. 7, 1911, in Lauderdale County to William Henry and Inez Holden Adams. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James "Buddy" White; a son, Clifford Michael; a daughter, Nella Rhea Michael Garner; a grandson, Mike Love; and a grandson-in-law, Mark Martinez.

Survivors include two sons, Henry Michael of Cullman and Glen (Terri) Wilson of Las Vegas, Nev.; three daughters, Lena Brooks and Inez (Wendell) Sams, both of Holly Pond and Jewell (George) Thompson of Cullman; a brother, Bill Adams of Montgomery; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice or the Alzheimer's Foundation.

Visitation were Wednesday.

Mary Martin Shaw

Pallbearers will be Charles Martin, Josh Amos, Billy Smith, Bill Shaw, Noel Henderson and Robin Henderson.

Visitation will be from 8 to 11 a.m. today at the funeral home.

Fred Sydney Seals Sr.

A memorial service for Fred Sydney Seals Sr., 51, of Cullman will be announced at a later date by the family.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Seals died Wednesday, June 9, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born June 24, 1952, to Fred and Florence Wier Seals. He was an industrial roofer.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Rebecca F. Calwell; five sons, Fred S. Seals Jr., Shawn Seals, Jeremy Seals, Nick Spano and Paul Spano; a sister, Diana McKinnon; and four grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to VFW Post 2214 at 112 Veterans Dr. SW, Cullman, Ala. 35055.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Rose Timmons Drane

Funeral services for Rose Timmons Drane, 54, of Birmingham will be at noon Saturday, June 12, 2004, at Bethel Baptist Church, Pratt City, with Burial in Elmwood Cemetery.

Bushelon Funeral Home in Birmingham is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Drane died Tuesday, June 8. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Pratt City.

Survivors include her husband, Lee Drane; one daughter, Toby (Thomas) Williams; three sons, Michael (Kim) Timmons Sr., Mitchell (Beth) Timmons and Dennis Timmons; five sisters, Annie (Claude) Bush, Minnie (Jimmy) Williams, Celia Wooley, Irene Everett and Margart Dimbo; four brothers, Hollis (Hattie) Timmons, Levert (Ann) Timmons, Moses (Evelyn) Timmons and Jimmy (Kim) Timmons; six grandchildren, Michael Jr., Kyron, Shawn, Ta'Ron, Alexandria and Quinton; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

John Allen Carroll

Graveside services for newborn John Allen Carroll were at 4 p.m. Friday, June 11, 2004, at Cullman Memory Gardens.

Williams-McCracken Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Carroll died Thursday, June 10, at Walker Regional Medical Center in Jasper.

James Rolan Densmore

Funeral services for James Rolan Densmore, 69, of Holly Pond will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 12, 2004, at Williams-McCracken Chapel, Jimmy Baker officiating, with Burial in Brooklyn Cemetery.

Williams-McCracken Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Densmore died Thursday, June 10, at Crestwood Hospital in Huntsville.

Fred Waddle

Funeral arrangements for Fred Waddle, 87, of Fairhope are incomplete and will be announced at a later date by the funeral home.

Mr. Waddle died Friday, June 11, in Fairhope.

Virginia Holmes

Funeral arrangements for Virginia Holmes of Cullman are incomplete and will be announced at a later date by the funeral home.

Mrs. Holmes died Friday, June 11, at her residence.

Virginia Caudle Holmes

Funeral services for Virginia Caudle Holmes, 80, of Vinemont will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2004, at Moss-Service Chapel, Brother Tony Wood officiating, with Burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Holmes died Friday, June 11 at her residence. She was born Aug. 23, 1923, to Earl and Etta Fields Caudle. She was a housewife and homemaker. She was a lifelong resident of Cullman and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Vinemont.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 62 years, J.D. Holmes; two brothers, Charles Caudle and Earl Caudle; and a grandson, Scott Holmes.

Survivors include two sons, James David (Melba) Holmes of Florence and Danny (Jackie) Holmes of Vinemont; four brothers, Earl (Minnie) Caudle, Noble (Ermaline) Caudle, Tom (Celia) Caudle and Jerry (Mary Ann) Caudle, all of Alabama; two sisters, Carolyn Williams of Falkville and Betty Jo (Arnie) Blumhagen of Vinemont; three grandchildren, David "Little David" Holmes of Alabama and Tim Skiles and Tina Skiles, both of Georgia; and four great-grandchildren, Susan Amber Holmes and Scott Holmes, both of Alabama, Elizabeth Skiles Trowhill and Christopher Skiles Trowhill, both of Georgia.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Alacare Hospice.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today.

Matthew Elbert Brazeel

Funeral services for Matthew Elbert Brazeel, 20, of Eva will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2004, at Williams-McCracken Chapel, Greg Wilbanks officiating, with entombment in Cullman Memory Gardens.

Williams-McCracken Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Brazeel died Monday, June 14. He was born in Bessemer on Dec. 4, 1983, to David Zuma and Delores Ann Overton Brazeel. He was an apprentice plumber.

Survivors include his father, David Z. Brazeel of Wilsonville; his mother, Delores Ann "Sissy" Ash of Cullman; his stepfather, Randy Ash of Cullman; his stepmother, Ann H. Brazeel of Wilsonville; two brothers, Shane (Rachel) Golden of Hanceville and David "Bubba" Brazeel of Cullman; a stepbrother, Jonathan Crooks of Pinson; his grandparents, Elbert and Geneva Overton of Cullman; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today.

Margaret Ann Pope

Funeral services for Margaret Ann Pope, 59, of Vinemont will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2004, at Vinemont First Baptist Church, Jim Abbott officiating, with Burial in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.

Williams-McCracken Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Pope died Monday, June 14 at her residence. She was born May 31, 1945, in Cullman County to Ernest and Mignon Cummings Kilpatrick. She was a lunchroom worker at Vinemont School.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Daymon Pope of Vinemont; a son, Travis (Tracy) Pope of Vinemont; a daughter, Sherry (Clifford) Hill of Cullman; four grandchildren, T.J. Pope, Joshua Pope, Isaac Hill and Caleb Hill; two brothers, Curtis Kilpatrick of Bethsadia and Paul Kilpatrick of Cullman; two sisters, Linda Lee and Shirley Kilpatrick, both of Cullman; and four grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today.

Rita Kay Stuart

Funeral services for Rita Kay Stuart, 53, of Cullman will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2004, at Williams-McCracken Chapel, Keith Beatty officiating, with Burial in Cullman City Cemetery.

Williams-McCracken Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Stuart died Sunday, June 13 at her residence. She was born Oct. 3, 1950, in Jefferson County to Benjamin Franklin and Ila Jerome Edwards Barbour. She was a secretary at Webb Wheel.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Survivors include her mother, Ila Barbour of Cullman; a son, Robert Matthew Stuart of Cullman; a daughter, Angela Kay (Scott) McCullough of Nashville, Tenn.; a brother, Johnny (Rita Fay) Barbour of Birmingham; two sisters, Millie Beatty of Birmingham and Diane (John) Speegle of Bitberger, Germany; and two grandchildren, Ashlee McCullough and Benjamin Lee McCullough.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Lisa Gail Atchley Gibson

Funeral services for Lisa Gail Atchley Gibson, 31, of Cullman will be announced by Williams-McCracken Funeral Home. Ms. Gibson died Monday, June 14, 2004.

Cindy Ann Laney Sterling

Funeral services for Cindy Ann Laney Sterling, 40, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 17, 2004, at Cullman Heritage Chapel, the Rev. Tim Aris officiating, with Burial in Blair Congregational Methodist Church Cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Sterling died Monday, June 14, at Cullman Regional Medical Center following a near-fatal wreck in May 1996. She was born June 25, 1963, in Cullman to Buel D. and Bobbie Jean Laney. She was a resident of Summerford Nursing Home for the past eight years.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, the Rev. Z.R. Laney, Lucy Laney and Allie Shumate.

Survivors include her parents; an 11-year-old son, Joshua Cann Sterling; a brother, Billy Joe Laney; three sisters, Pam (Kinney) Quattlebaum, Tammie (Randy) Parker and Kay (Ralph) Tolbert; her grandparent, Itaska Shumate; 10 nieces and nephews, Kelly (Roy) Holmes, Jeremy (Jennifer) Quattlebaum, Traundia (John) Lambert, Scotty Laney, Holly Tolbert, Erica Tolbert, Michael Tolbert, Clint Parker, Laney Parker and Andrea Parker; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
