Funeral services for Bertis W. Nail, 81, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 5, 2005, at Moss-Service Chapel, the Rev. Larry D. Brown officiating, with a Masonic graveside service at Cullman Memory Gardens.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Nail died Tuesday, May 3 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born July 17, 1923, in Alabama to William A. and Callie Roberts Nail. He was a farmer and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Odell Nail; a daughter, Donna Boatright; a son, Larry C. (Cindy) Nail; a brother, J.C. Nail; two sisters, Genoy Perkins and Pearl Collier; and four granddaughters, Leann Boatright, Katie (Buchanan) Jackson, Leslie (Jeremy) Faulkner and Callie Nail.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today.

Nora Smith Williams

Funeral services for Nora Smith Williams, 96, of Cullman will be at noon Thursday, May 5, 2005, at Moss-Service Chapel, the Rev. Charles York officiating, with Burial in Center Hill Cemetery.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Williams died Monday, May 2 at Woodland Village Health Care Center. She was born Feb. 19, 1909, to Jim and Maudine Grimmet Smith of Cullman.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marnise B. Williams; six sons, Jake, Eddie, Howard, Charles, Richard and M.B. Williams.

Survivors include a son, Rev. Bobby (Linda) Williams of Texas; four daughters, Nell (Garlan) Hood, Ruth Keevan, Willa Faulkner and Joyce Strickland, all of Cullman; three sisters, Bonnie Glover of California, Lillian (Horace) Waddell and Audia Russell, both of Birmingham; 26 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; and a host of great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

David Lewis Ogles

Funeral services for David Lewis Ogles, 50, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 5, 2005, at Cullman Heritage Chapel, Jason Murphree and Timmy Ogletree officiating, with Burial in Cullman Memory Gardens.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Ogles died Monday, May 2 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born March 5, 1955, in Jefferson County to Claudie L. and Dorothy Lowe Ogles. He was a mechanic with Charlie's Transmission.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Pamela Glenn Ogles; a daughter, Samantha Banks; three brothers, Neil Ogles, Eddie (Lynn) Ogles and Michael (Patty) Ogles; two sisters, Joyce (Don) Isabell and Phylis (Randy) Purser; two brothers-in-law, Rusty (Janell) Glenn and Joey Glenn; and a sister-in-law, Kathy (Bill) Parker.

Pallbearers will be Joey Glenn, Jerome McCurry, Stanley Thomas, Blake Parker, James Lowe, Zackary Glenn, Samuel Stratman and Bill Parker.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

William 'Asa' Vincent

Graveside services for William "Asa" Vincent, 70, of Hanceville will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2005, at Fairview West Cemetery, the Rev. Marvin Bryan officiating. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.

Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Vincent died Monday, May 2 in Hanceville. He was born in Garden City on Aug. 5, 1934, to Earnest and Jessie Skinner Vincent.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, William Daryl "John" Vincent; two brothers, Edward and Ronnie Vincent; and a sister, Doris Whatley.

Survivors include a wife, Dorothy Vincent of Hanceville; three daughters, Debbie (Mark) Briscoe and Laurie (Rodell) Knight, both of Hanceville, Donna (Frank) Yates of Cullman; a son, Joe (Kristi) Vincent of Hanceville; three brothers, Charles Vincent, Terry Vincent and Frank Vincent of Decatur; a sister, Betty Grantham; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation was Tuesday.

Johnnie Chambers

Funeral services for Johnnie Chambers, 50, of Double Springs will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 6, 2005, at Houston Methodist Church, with Burial in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.

Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Chambers died Sunday, May 1.

Donald Ladd Smith

Memorial services for Donald Ladd Smith, 33, of Cullman will be at 1 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2005, at Grace Episcopal Church.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Smith died Monday, March 28.

Herman Simon Cofield

Funeral services for Herman Simon Cofield, 78, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2005, at Mt. Hebron Church, the Revs. Charles York and Frank McKenzie officiating, with Burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Cofield died Tuesday, March 29 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born Aug. 10, 1926, in Cullman to George A. and Viola Burnett Cofield. He was a farmer and a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Andrew, Fred, Louis and Lee Cofield; a granddaughter, Catherine Cofield; and a sister-in-law, Ethel Cofield.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby L. Breedlove Cofield; four sons, Richard (Debra Kay) Cofield, Larry (Debra Ann) Cofield, George (Kim) Cofield and Danny (Carolyn) Cofield; three daughters, Catherine Hopper, Lou (Glenn) Davis and Samantha (Kevin) Pope; 33 grandchildren, Kim Cofield, Tina (Keith) Al-Dijaili, Shawn (Jewel) Cofield, Temika Cofield, Joseph Cofield, Kisha Cofield, Wesley Cofield, Phillip Cofield, Andrew Cofield, Jeniffer (Clain) Fletcher, Jason Reynolds, Jeremy Cofield, Racheal Smith, Caleb Cofield, Carson Cofield, Colby Cofield, Rocky Brasher, Daniel Brasher, Jason Brasher, Butch Hopper, Jamie Hopper, Jason (Delia) Yates, Ben Davis, Eric Davis, Dustin Davis, Nicole Pope, Zachery Pope, Ryan Pope, Riley Pope, Jewel Cofield, Gloria (Brandon) Freddick, Vanessa Cofield and D.J. Cofield; 28 great-grandchildren; five nieces and nephews, Dorthy Taylor, Doris Kritner, Molly Whited, Jerry Cofield and Anthony Cofield; a host of other nieces and nephews he loved; and three sisters-in-law, Virginia Breedlove, Margaret Cofield and Nancy Cofield.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Nora Smith Wix

Funeral services for Nora Smith Wix, 86, of Cullman, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 31, 2005, at Moss-Service Chapel, Marvin Brock officiating. Burial will be in Bethsadia Cemetery.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Wix died Tuesday, March 29, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born April 21, 1918, to Bascum and Mae Poovey Smith. She was a seamstress at Porter Mills for 30 years.

Mrs. Nix was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter G. Wix; a son, Rexie Wix; a brother, Willard Smith; and a sister, Jeanette Cupp.

Survivors include a son, Reggie (Glenda) Wix; a daughter, Barbara (Butch) Duke; a brother, Doice Smith; three grandchildren, Johnny Duke, Tina Duke Hardin and Jeff Wix; and six great-grandchildren

Visitation will be at 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Sherrell Wayne Smith

Funeral services for Sherrell Wayne Smith, 63, of Blountsville were Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at Rock Springs Methodist Church, Bros. David Poole, Kenny Baskins and Dan Rombury officiating, with Burial in the church cemetery.

Blountsville Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Smith died Sunday, March 27 at Marshall Medical Center North. He was born in Blount County. He graduated in 1960 from J.B. Pennington High School. He was in sales and construction. He was a member of Rock Springs Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Doc Claude Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Vicky Putman Smith; four sons, Tim (Tina) Smith, Toby Smith, Dusty Baker and Ty Smith, all of Blountsville; two daughters, Kim (Roger) Carden of Huntsville and Jada Smith of Blountsville; four grandchildren; his mother, Marie Smith (Rudy) Rudloff of Blountsville; two brothers, Randy Smith and Sammy (Jennifer) Smith, both of Blountsville; and two sisters, Linda Vanzandt and Melba (Ralph) Hutchens of Blountsville.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Hutchens, Les Vanzandt, John Brown, Chris Washburn, Clint Smith and Roger Carden.

Christine Smith

Funeral services for Christine Smith, 81, of Arley will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 31, 2005, at Nichols Funeral Chapel, with Burial in Arley Congregational Methodist Church Cemetery.

Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Smith died Wednesday, March 30 at Woodland Medical Center.

Aurelena Moore

Funeral services for Aurelena Moore, 44, of Decatur will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 1, 2005, at Decatur Baptist Church, the Rev. Dr. Doug Ripley officiating, with Burial in Bethel Methodist Church Cemetery at Gum Pond, Cullman County.

Shelton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Moore died Monday, March 28 at her residence. She was born Sept. 15, 1960, in Cardon, Venezuela, to Julian and Etelvina Wilman. She was a member of Decatur Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Ronald G. Moore of Decatur; three sons, Ronald Andres Moore and Danial Esteban Moore of Decatur and Allan David Moore of Tuscaloosa; her parents, Julian and Etelvina Wilman of Punto-Fijo, Venezuela; a brother, Miguel Wilman of Decatur; and a sister, Norma Gardner of Danville.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Janett Thomas Williamson

Funeral services for Janett Thomas Williamson, 38, of Holly Pond are incomplete and will be announced at a later date by Holly Pond Funeral Home.

Ms. Williamson died Tuesday, Oct. 26, at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Medical Center.

Debra Ann Abney

Funeral services for Debra Ann Abney, 41, of Crane Hill will be at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, 2004, at Williams-McCracken Chapel, Tim Duberly and Billy Moore officiating, with Burial in Flat Rock Cemetery.

Williams-McCracken Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Abney died Tuesday, Oct. 26, in Logan. She was born Dec. 14, 1962, in Donaldson, Tenn. She was a certified nurse's assistant with Hanceville Nursing Home.

She was preceded in death by her father, Herbert Moore.

Survivors include her mother, Lucille Graves McClendon of Cullman; her husband, David Abney of Crane Hill; two sons, Gary Wayne Collier of Cullman and Nicholas Chase Johnson of Crane Hill; four brothers, Jerry Moore of Cullman, Thomas Moore of Arab, Harold Moore of Crane Hill and Roland Moore of Cedartown, Ga.; and three sisters, Ann Murray of Cold Springs, Mary Ragsdale and Nancy Boatright, both of Crane Hill.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Jo Keyes Hart

Funeral arrangements for Jo Keyes Hart, 86, are incomplete and will be announced at a later date by Williams-McCracken Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hart died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2004.

Hazel Godbee

Funeral services for Hazel Godbee, 81, of the Nesmith community in Arley, are incomplete and will be announced at a later date by Nichols Funeral Home.

Mrs. Godbee died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2004, at Woodland Medical Center.

Kathryn Hale Wilborn

Kathryn Hale Wilborn, 76, of Birmingham, died Monday, Oct. 25, 2004. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howell Clayton Wilborn and her mother, Ora Shaver. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church.

A chapel service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28 at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held Friday, Oct. 29, at 11 a.m. at Garden City Cemetery, Pastor Schultz officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. today.

Survivors: son, Lyndon Clayton Wilborn, and her faithful dog and companion, Dafney, and a host of friends.

Avery Drinkard

Funeral services for Avery Drinkard, 77, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 26, 2005, at Cullman Heritage Chapel, with Burial in Lawrence Cove Baptist Church.

Mr. Drinkard died Tuesday, May 24.
