Vines

CENTRE

Services for Willard E. Vines, 75, of Centre will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Jordan Funeral Home Chapel in Centre with Rev. Bobby Hooper officiating.

Burial will be in Bothwell-Shiloh Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6-8 tonight.

Mr. Vines died Tuesday at Cherokee Baptist Medical Center in Centre.

Survivors include two sisters and their husbands, Catherine and James Baldwin of Centre, and Betty S. and Tommy Lapire of Piedmont; three brothers, Troy L. Vines and his wife, Pat, of Wellington, Wayne Vines of Centre, and Billy E. Vines and his wife, Sadie, of Leesburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be nephews and friends.

Mr. Vines, a Cherokee County native, was a retired farmer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence B. Vines.

Vinyard

JACKSONVILLE

Services for Joyce Elaine Vinyard, 74, of Jacksonville will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at K.L. Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Center 6-8 tonight. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services.

Mrs. Vinyard died Wednesday at Piedmont Health Care.

Survivors include her husband, Ray L. Vinyard; a son and his wife, David R. and Debbie Vinyard of Jacksonville; a daughter and her husband, Pam V. and Randy Luther of Orlando, Fla.; a brother, Harold Noah of Jacksonville; three grandchildren, Heather Vinyard, Ethan Vinyard and Joseph Luther; a niece, and a nephew.

Pallbearers will be Mike Sanders, Howard Ballentine, Eugene Johnson, Jerry Penny, Jimmy Johnson and James Green. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Adult Sunday School Class at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.

Mrs. Vinyard was a Calhoun County native and lifelong resident. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.

Wilkerson

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.

Services for Anna Mae “Boots” Wilkerson, 75, of Jacksonville, Fla., formerly of Anniston, will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary & Crematory with Rev. James Abernathy officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6-8 tonight.

Mrs. Wilkerson died Sunday in Jacksonville, Fla.

Survivors include four sons, Howard Wilkerson Jr. of Florida, Ricky Wilkerson and his wife, Regina, of Mobile, Randy Wilkerson and his wife, Barbara, of Phenix City, and Darrell “D” Wilkerson of Oxford; four daughters, Ann Kennedy of Brunswick, Ga., Brenda Blackburn and her husband, Durrell, and Barbara Kelly, all of Jacksonville, Fla., and Sheila Dukes and her husband, Al, of Gainesville, Fla.; two sisters, Betty Jones and Mary Ann Reynolds and her husband, Rev. Eugene Reynolds, all of Anniston; a brother, Tommy Heining and his wife, Sue, of Anniston; 20 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Al Dukes, James Jones, Charles Brannen Jr., Bradley Wilkerson, Brian Wilkerson and Travis Wilkerson.

Mrs. Wilkerson, a longtime Anniston resident, had lived in Jacksonville, Fla., 16 years. She was a member of First Congregational Church of Anniston. She had worked at Beckwood Manor and Stringfellow Memorial Hospital as a nursing assistant. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Jacob Wilkerson Sr.; and a daughter, Diane Wilkerson.

PASHON LASANDRA CASS HENDRIX

LINCOLN — Funeral service for Pashon Lasandra Cass Hendrix, 68, of 19 Watertank Lane, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. George Armstrong officiating. Burial will be in Pointer Cemetery.

Mrs. Hendrix died Jan. 24 at Coosa Valley BMC. She was a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence Cass and Ceola Pointer Cass, and a sister, Margaret Cass Lawson.

She is survived by her husband, the Rev. David Hendrix of Lincoln; one stepdaughter, Mattie Douthitt of Talladega; two stepsons, David Hendrix Sr. of Columbia, S.C., and John Michael Hendrix of Lincoln; and three nieces.

The body may be viewed at the church for one hour before the service.

Cousins and friends of the family will serve as pallbearers.

Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary will direct the service.

EVA CHAMBLISS CURD ALEXANDER

RAGLAND — Funeral service for Eva Chambliss Curd Alexander, 85, will be Friday at 3 p.m. at Ragland United Methodist Church with the Rev. Doug Ford officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Alexander died Jan. 29. A native and lifelong resident of Ragland, she was a member of Ragland United Methodist Church, the Ladies UMW, the Sewing Club and Ragland Senior Center. She was preceded in death by her husbands, William Curd and J.M. (Matt) Alexander, and a daughter, Carolyn June Moore.

She is survived by one daughter, Priscilla Rowe of Oxford; one sister, Clara Bell of Anniston; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The body may be viewed at the church for one hour before the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ragland United Methodist Church Building Fund, 61 Church St., Ragland, Ala., 35131.

Pallbearers will be Chris Rowe, Stanley Bean, Jeff Champion, David Burnham, Pete Meads and Johnny Phillips.

Mike Bell will be honorary pallbearer.

Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Pell City will direct the service.

JOHN DANIEL BAILEY

COLUMBIANA — Funeral service for John Daniel Bailey will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Union Baptist Church in Columbiana with the Rev. Frederick Gambles officiating. Burial will be in Wilsonville Cemetery.

Mr. Bailey died Jan. 27 at University Hospital in Birmingham. He was preceded in death by his parents, Annie Mae Mickie Bailey and Benjamin Franklin Bailey; his wife; and four siblings. He was a native of Clay County and was born May 18, 1919. He united with the First Baptist Church in Wilsonville and moved his membership in 1995 to Union Baptist Church in Columbiana.

He is survived by six children, Mable Cotton and Gloria Montgomery of Columbiana, Daniel Bailey, Annie Cohill, Audrey Mixion of Birmingham and Gertrude Bailey of Clanton; two sisters, Ruby Taylor of Detroit, Mich., and Bertha Chapman of Talladega; three brothers, W.L. Bailey of Columbiana, Ben Bailey of Atlanta, Ga., and Carl Bailey of Talladega; 19 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Madden's Funeral Service in Sylacauga will direct the service.

ROBERT DELOACH

TALLADEGA — Robert (Bobby) Deloach, 68, died Jan. 30 at Coosa Valley BMC.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Radney-Smith Funeral Home in Sylacauga.

HENRY MORGAN EALY

ROME, Ga. — Graveside service for Henry Morgan Ealy, 86, formerly of Talladega, will be Saturday at 1 p.m. in Mount Carmel Church Cemetery with the Rev. Lanoah Ealy officiating.

Mr. Ealy died Jan. 27 in Rome, Ga.

He is survived by one brother, Alex Frank Ealy of Talladega; and a host of other relatives.

The family will receive friends at noon at the funeral home.

Sims Funeral Service will direct the service.

JOSEPH LILLY

BIRMINGHAM — Joseph Lilly, 56, died Jan. 29 at his residence.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Pell City Funeral Service.

FAYE SIMMONS NOLAN

SPRINGVILLE — Funeral service for Faye Simmons Nolan, 67, will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Red Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Lloyd Thomas and the Rev. Kenny Buckner officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Nolan died Jan. 29. She was a member of Red Hill Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Nolan, and two sons, Mike and Jeff Nolan.

She is survived by two daughters, Cathy Morris and Dody Washington of Springville; two sons, Shane Washington and Chris Morris of Springville; her stepfather, George Arnold of Talladega; one brother, Hollis Simmons of Springville; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Ridout's Trussville Chapel will direct the service.

JESSE V. PENDERGRASS

TALLADEGA — Graveside service with full military honors for Jesse V. Pendergrass, 80, will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in Maple Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Pendergrass died Jan. 30 at Talladega Health Care Center. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sybil Pendergrass, and a son, Charles Edward Pendergrass. He was a U.S. Army and World War II veteran, fought in New Guinea and was a member of the 31st Dixie Division.

He is survived by daughters, Diane Medders of Talladega and Martha Mitchell of Oxford; son, Robert Pendergrass of Jonesboro, Ga.; sisters, Hazel Heath of Saks, Frances Shaddix of Oxford, Leslie Walden of Gadsden and Juanita Glass of Georgia; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Gray Brown-Service Mortuary and Crematory will direct the service.

MARIE SAVAGE

PELL CITY — Funeral service for Marie Savage, 71, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home chapel in Pell City with the Rev. Richard Squires officiating. Burial will be in St. Clair Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Savage died Jan. 30. She attended Refuge Baptist Church and was preceded in death by a daughter, Theresa Knight; a son, Ronnie Randolph; a grandson, Ricky Knight; and a brother, F.D. Williams.

She is survived by her husband, Ray Savage; five children, Greg (Beverly) Randolph of Pell City, Jan (Terry) Brasher of Leeds, Carolyn (Tommy Pugh) Ratliff of Cordova, Steve (Jenny) Savage of Pell City and Brian (Cristy) Savage of Pell City; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two brothers, James Williams of Corryton, Tenn., and Daniel Williams of Leeds; and four sisters, Demp Ledlow of Jasper, Mary Glover of Cordova, Ora Lee Batton of Leeds and Elaine Harris of Jasper.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be James Williams, Matt Garrett, Christian Randolph, Nathan Savage, Scotty Batton and Ben Hall.

Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City will direct the service.

HAROLD PERCY WALDERN

ROCKFORD — Graveside service for Harold Percy Waldern, 88, will be Friday at 2 p.m. in Andrews Chapel Cemetery in Hanover with the Rev. David Mann officiating.

Mr. Waldern died Jan. 29 at Goodwater Health Care Center in Goodwater. He was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.

He is survived by three daughters, Carol Hay of Rockford, Linda Waller of Sharpsburg, Ga., and Patricia Buetsch of Wadsworth, Ohio; two sons, Michael Boleratz of Longview, Wash., and Richard Boleratz of Houston, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel will direct the service.
