Services for Amanda Moore, 65, of Tulsa, formerly of Talladega, will be announced by Jack's Memory Chapel in Tulsa.

Ms. Moore died Sunday at St. John's Hospital.

JACKSONVILLE

Graveside services for Sarah Ethelyn Peak, 80, of Jacksonville will be Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Pleasant Valley Cemetery with Rev. Terry Johnson officiating and K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Crematory in charge. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Peak died Monday at her home.

Pottard

OXFORD

Services for Shevicka LaShon Pottard, 26, of Oxford will be today at 1:30 p.m. at Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Hobson City with Rev. Terrell Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Anniston Memorial Gardens with Ervin Funeral Chapel in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services.

Ms. Pottard died Thursday in Anniston.

Survivors include a son, Qweshaun Pottard of Oxford; her mother and stepfather, Sharon DeRamus Clayborn and Donnie Clayborn of Anniston; her father, William Pottard; a sister, Shemere Pottard of Oxford; a brother, Christopher Pottard of Anniston; a special friend, Kinta Harris; and her grandparents, Wyatt and Alma DeRamus and Williard and Annie Pottard.

Pallbearers will be Dontay Almon, David Almon, Ray Williams, Shane Montgomery, John Clark and Jeff Clark.

Ms. Pottard was a native of Calhoun County and a 1994 graduate of Oxford High School. She was a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Hobson City. She was employed by Shoney's Corporation in Oxford.

Services for Clifford Lee Ray, 88, of Anniston will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Upper Cane Creek Methodist Church with Dryden Funeral Home in charge. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home in Heflin.

Mr. Ray died Monday at Regional Medical Center.

Roach

OXFORD

Services for Mattie L. Roach, 85, of 1827 Cheaha Drive will be today at 1 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Woods and Dr. Ron Ethridge officiating. Burial will be in Forestlawn Gardens with Miller Funeral Home in charge. The body will be at the church a half hour prior to services.

Mrs. Roach died Sunday at Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include five daughters, Frances Dale Ramson of Perry, Ga., Ruth Bright of Fort Payne and Janice Pugh, Monteal Smith and Bernice Ansell, all of Oxford; three sons, Kenneth Roach of Oxford and Tony Roach and Jerry Roach, both of Heflin; three sisters, Velma Clements and Addie Meads, both of Anniston and Joyce Bauer of Seattle; a brother, James Harris of Montana; and 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Douglas Starr, David Starr, Dustin Pugh, Kyle Pugh, Matthew Nelson, Justin Stroup, Chad Smith, Jeff McEwen and Ray Chadderton. Honorary pallbearers will be the Amazing Gracers.

Mrs. Roach was a lifelong resident of Calhoun County. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church, where she attended the Amazing Gracers Group and was a founding member of the Cheaha Acres Homemakers Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Roach and several brothers and sisters.

Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to the First Baptist Church of Oxford or the Grace Baptist Church building funds.

Rodgers

MONTGOMERY

Services for Frances C. Kelley Rodgers, 82, of Montgomery will be today at 10 a.m. at Leak Memory Chapel in Montgomery with Rev. Tom Shepard officiating. Graveside services will be today at 2 p.m. at Elam Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Goshen.

Mrs. Rodgers died Saturday.

Survivors include her husband, Col. Thomas A. Rodgers; two daughters, Sue Kelley McGough and her husband, Elton, of Elkton, Ky. and Nancy Kelley Wilson of Birmingham; her mother, Tabbie Carter of Goshen; a brother and his wife, Roy H. and Irene Carter of Goshen; a sister and her husband, Josephine Carter Gibbs and John Gibbs of Ranburne; five grandchildren, Kelley McGough Kaufman and her husband, Jerrod, Marianne McGough, Adam McGough, Ellen Wilson and Clay Wilson; and a great-grandchild, William Kaufman.

Pallbearers will be Louis Bryant, Richard Bryant, J.C. Bryant, Adam McGough, Clay Wilson and Al McGough.

Mrs. Rodgers was a native of Goshen and had lived in Montgomery 60 years. She was a retired vice president of Southern Guaranty Insurance Company. Mrs. Rodgers was preceded in death by her first husband, Eddie B. Kelley; a son, Edward C. Kelley; and a son-in-law, Daniel Clay Wilson.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes. Foundation, Whitfield United Methodist Church or a favorite charity.

Graveside services for Faye E. Sanders, 68, of 781 McIntosh Road will be today at 11 a.m. at Bethlehem Methodist Church Cemetery with Cliff Goodwin officiating and Miller Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Sanders died Saturday at University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital.

Survivors include her husband, Robert H. Sanders of Oxford; three sons, Cliff Sanders and his wife, Wanda, and Tim Sanders, all of Munford and Robby Sanders and his wife, Jane, of Oxford; five brothers, Doug Elkins, Sam Elkins, Donnie Elkins and Jimmy Elkins, all of Talladega and Wayne Elkins of Gadsden; two sisters, Ginger Ann Kilgore of Talladega and Barbara Swindall of Dadeville; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Allen, Ernest Lee Bittle, Doug Camp, Shelton Creed, C.J Johnson and Jimmy Stewart.

Mrs. Sanders was an active member of Ironaton Church of Christ.

Chastain

Graveside services for Charles E. Chastain, 67, of Anniston will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Forestlawn Gardens with Rev. Walker Dean officiating and Gray Brown-Service Mortuary and Crematory in charge. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Chastain died Monday at Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Chastain of Anniston; a son and his wife, Charlie and Tamara Chastain Jr. of Anniston; three daughters, Cynthia Champion and her husband, Paul, of Oxford and Gay Austin and Erna Evans, both of Anniston; a brother, Gerald Chastain of Oxford; four grandchildren, Paula Lebdaoui and her husband, Amid, Stacey Sawyer and her husband, Greg, Chase Chastain and Lindsey Chastain; two great-grandchildren, Granite Sawyer and Adam Lebdaoui; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jerre McKleroy, Charles Connor, Billy Russell, Randy Lloyd, Rocky Lloyd and Paul Champion. Honorary pallbearers will be Eugene L. Evans Jr. and employees of the Union Foundry Breakfast Club.

Mr. Chastain had lived in Calhoun County most of his life and was a Navy veteran, having served during the Korean War. He was retired from Union Foundry and was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Ludie Chastain; and two brothers, Paul Chastain Jr. and J.C. Chastain.

Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to the Talladega Presbyterian Children's Home, P.O. Box 4577, Talladega, AL 35161.

Services for Dora Lee Prater Day, 91, of Centre will be today at 2 p.m. at Jordan Funeral Home with Revs. Leon Smith and Ecil Chandler officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Day died Tuesday at Cherokee Baptist Medical Center.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Donald M. and Wanda Day of Cedar Bluff; two daughters, Margie Womack, Ruth Williams and her husband, Ken, all of Centre; a daughter-in-law, Callie Day of Cedar Bluff; a brother, Carl Prater of Collinsville; a sister, Mattie Steeples of Tennessee; and six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Harold Day, Tab Chandler, Lane Stinson, Tommy Adderhold, Wayne Trammell and Ronald Money.

Mrs. Day was born in White County, Tenn. and the daughter the late Malcom and Josie Seal Prater. She was a housewife and a member of East Centre Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.M. Day, and a son, Billy Wayne Day.

The family requests no flowers. Donations can be made to Pine Grove Cemetery.

Services for David N. Kelley, 39, of Gadsden will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home and Crematory in Anniston with Revs. Mike Wilcutt and Bruce Word officiating. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Kelley died Sunday in Gadsden.

Survivors include his mother, Mavis L. Kelley of Gadsden; two brothers, Douglas H. Kelley and his wife, Rebecca, of Fort Knox, Ky. and Andrew F. Kelley of Gadsden; and his grandmother, Bertha Thealene Burell of Gadsden.

Mr. Kelley was a native of San Diego, Calif., a former resident of Calhoun County and had lived in Gadsden 12 years. He was a former student at Gadsden State Community College and a member of Phi Theta Kappa and North Glencoe Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Milton Kelley.
