TROY L. MORRIS

SYLACAUGA--Funeral service for Troy L. "House Man" Morris, 40, of Sylacauga, will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Porter F. Wheeler Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Sylacauga Cemetery.

Mr. Morris died Wednesday at his residence. A member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, he graduated from Sylacauga with the class of 1981 and attended Columbus College in Columbus, Ga. He played sports, particularly basketball, and the high school and college levels.

He is survived by his mother, Winnie M. Strong of Sylacauga; his father, Robert L. Green of Sylacauga; two sons, Zokoji Debardelaben of Sylacauga and Lil'josh Booker of California; one sister, Telana W. Morris of Sylacauga; four brothers, Antionio Eric Morris, Stephen L. Morris, Swift O. Morris and Ramirez D. Morris; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Friends of the family, classmates and teammates will serve as pallbearers; friends of the family and classmates will serve as flower bearers.

Visitation will be Sunday at Community Funeral Home from noon to 9 p.m. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Community Funeral Home will direct the service.

JENNIE AARON

SYLACAUGA--Mrs. Jennie Aaron of Sylacauga died Saturday at Goodwater Health Care in Goodwater.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel.

HELEN GRAY Parker FULLER

TALLADEGA--Funeral service for Mrs. Helen Gray Parker Fuller, 74, of 168 Curry Court, Talladega, will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. B.E. McKinney officiating. Burial will follow at Parker Memorial Church Cemetery in Eastaboga.

Mrs. Fuller died Thursday at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center. A member of Mt. Canaan Baptist Church, she graduated from Drewry High School and worked for the Bemis Bag Company and Crown Textiles. She was also the manager of AMVETS Post #25, and the 24 Horsemen Club.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Arie White, her daughter, Brenda Parker and her husband, Charles Parker.

She is survived by one daughter, Charles Etta Parker of Talladega; two sons, Daryl Parker Sr. of Lincoln and Frank Paul Parker of Anniston; and 11 grandchildren.

Active pallbearers will be Charles Andre Parker, Daryl Parker Jr., Anthony Estelle Oscar Swain and Woodrow Wilson.

The family will receive friends Monday starting at 11 a.m. at Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary.

Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary will direct the service.

VIDA LINDA HARRIS

LINEVILLE--Funeral service for Mrs. Vida Linda Harris, 91, of Lineville, will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Colquett officiating. Burial will follow in Lineville City Cemetery.

Mrs. Harris died Friday at Lineville Nursing Home. A native and lifelong resident of Clay County. she was retired from the Anniston Manufacturing Company and a member of Lineville Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Harris, a daughter, Geraldine Harris, and a grandson Mike Gentry.

She is survived by her son, Jimmy Harris of Lineville; her brother, John O. Triplett of Victorville, Ca.; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be nephews.

The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home of Lineville Saturday from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and until service time on Sunday.

Benefield Funeral Home of Lineville will direct the service.

CALVIN JUSTICE

CHILDERSBURG--Mr. Calvin Justice of Childersburg died Saturday in Huntsville.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Curtis and Son Funeral Home, Childersburg Chapel.

ROBERT LEE KENDRICK

PELL CITY--Funeral service for Robert Lee "Cotton" Kendrick, 73, of Pell City, will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Eden-New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Brasher officiating. Burial will follow in Eden-New Hope Cemetery.

Mr. Kendrick died Friday. A member of Eden-New Hope Baptist Church, he was retired from Miller-Sutherlin Chevrolet after 40 years. He is survived by his wife, Martha Grizzell Kendrick, two daughters, Pennie Kendrick McKee of Pell City and Debbie Kendrick Hibbs of Pell City; one brother, Johnnie Kendrick of Pell City; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be James Flowers, Darrell Harper, Ken Thomas, Johnny Gregg, Glover Stewart and Bryan Tucker.

The family will receive friends Saturday at Kilgroe Funeral Home Chapel from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Kilgroe Funeral Home will direct the service.

RUBY L. MAGOUYRK

TALLADEGA--Funeral services Ruby L. Magouyrk, 82, will be Saturday, at 2 p.m. at Midway Memory Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Magouyrk died Friday at her residence after a lengthy illness. She is preceded in death by an infant son, an infant daughter, her mother, Georgia Thomas and two sisters, Helen Grogan and Edna Gambrill.

She is survived by her loving and dedicated husband of 61 years, the Rev. Clarence "Buddy Magouyrk of Talladega; three daughters, Lynn Tucker of Pell City, Yvonne Jackson of Destin, Fla., and Barbara Jett of Moody; two brothers, Jimmy Thomas of Talladega and John L. Thomas; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and her two "special angels" Karen Brasher and Gwendlyn Murphy.

Active pallbearers will be Lawrence Jackson, Eric Jackson, Jeff Tucker, Josh Fuller, Clyde Wilder and Randy Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Corey Tucker, Cole Fuller, Jimmy Thomas, Hershel Wilcox and Lloyd Miller.

Visitation will be Saturday at Midway Memory Gardens Funeral Home, with family from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Midway Memory Gardens Funeral Home will direct the service.

GREGORY LAMAR MINNIFIELD

ALEXANDER CITY--Funeral service Gregory Lamar Minnifield, 30, of Detroit, will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Corinth Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Corinth Cemetery.

Mr. Minnifield died Tuesday at Harper Hospital in Detroit. A graduate of Henry Ford High School in Detroit in 1991, he attended Lewis College of Business. He was a member of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge #786, and an active member of Men of Color SEMAC, a Bodyguard and the Brothers to Brothers Support Group.

He is survived by his mother, Juanita M. Thompkins of Detroit; his father, Jerry Minnifield of Detroit; five sisters, Shalanda Minnifield, Wynique Thompkins, Monique Thompkins, all of Detroit; Annette Glenn of Youngstown, Ohio, and Helena Jeanes of Milwaukee; one stepbrother, Eric Harris of Romulus, Mich.; two grandmothers, Olenia Tuck of Kellytown and Johnnie Minnifield of Alexander City; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends Monday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Wright's Funeral Home will direct the service.

ETHEL PLAYER

SYLACAUGA--Funeral service for Ethel Player, 96, of 48 Williams Street, Sylacauga, will be Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Walter Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Sylacauga Cemetery.

Mrs. Player died Thursday at Coosa Valley Baptist Medical Center.

She is survived by her daughter, Pearline McGown, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family.

The family requests no flowers.

The family will receive friends Sunday at Madden's Funeral Home Chapel, beginning at 9 a.m.

Madden's Funeral Home will direct the service.

RUBY SOUTHERN RICH

VINCENT — Funeral service for Ruby Southern Rich, 84, will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home chapel in Pell City with the Rev. Lindy Martin and the Rev. Lon Cullen officiating. Burial will be in Macedonia Cemetery in Vincent.

Mrs. Rich died April 10. She was a lifelong resident of Vincent, was a long time active member of the First Baptist Church of Vincent and was preceded in death by two brothers, Hulen Southern and O.D. Southern and one sister, Velma Simons.

She is survived by one son, Jerry Lane Rich and wife Marie Westfaul Rich of Hurley, Miss.; one grandchild, Ashley Rich Huff and husband Tommy of Mobile; three brothers, Gordon Southern of Chula Vista, Calif., Solon Southern of Vincent and Edward Southern of Pell City; and five sisters, Hassie Sims, Eva Smith, Dorothy Whitten and Edna Fleming of Vincent and Thelma Gilliland of Tuscaloosa.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 1 until 2 p.m. before the service.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy McCombs, Greg Gilliland, Mike Southern, Leonard Southern, Vichael Fleming and Kenneth Whitten.

Honorary pallbearers will be Hoyt Sims, Corley Gilliland, Donnie Gilliland, Kenny Simons, Tommy Smith and Mark Southern.

Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City will direct the service.
